Piece of junk. have had 5-6 fryers over the last 40+ years of cooking. Untill now never had one without a hinged lid or hinged handle to raise and lower the basket. Very dificult to store because of the handle, after the third use I found the perfect storage place "the dumpster". will order a name brand soon.

I bought this from another department store on Black Friday 2010, and it was great while it lasted. It was the right size for a single person, and I liked the basket and different temperature options. It would fry a basket of fries nice and crispy. However, here it is March, and I was prepared to fry up some fries today. It would not turn on. I unplugged it and plugged it back up. It still didn't do anything. The grease never got hot, and the little light on the side never came on. Fortunately, I got a great price back on Black Friday. So, no big deal. I got my money's worth.
