I got this as a back up for a relative out of the country who uses propane for her stove and is constantly running out of it!
before i take it to her i wanted to test it out first.
water in a medium size T-fal hard anodized pot took 5 minutes to boil on the medium setting.
i cooked peas and rice and it took 15-20 minutes maybe a little longer because i turned the setting on low and the light went out so i wasn't sure if it was still on.
i only used the right side which is the 1000 watt
so the PROS are:
it works
it gets hot
water boils fast
you can cook peas and rice with a little coconut milk, scallions, scotch pepper, thyme etc ..hungry? yeah me to so let me rap this up.
looks good
feels sturdy
CONS:
the knobs/controls are on the sides
light goes out when on low setting.
will update after i see how it works in my relatives home.

It was used approx. 10 times a week for light cooking, 5-15 minutes at a time; nothing heavy duty. I can say HARDWARE WORLD HAS BEEN WONDERFUL to deal with on this defective unit. They have very promptly replied to my complaint and behaved like we all wish all seller would. They get a 5 star in my book for service!! Maybe the unit I got was a rare 'lemon', but who knows. I am really not pleased with this unit's performance under modest use.
