I own this in Oak. Mine uses the gel. This will be my 3rd fall/winter with it. I love it. I do not use it daily as that is too expensive because of the price of the gel. I use occasionally at the start of fall to take the chill out of my room and on cold winter days when I want the feel of a warm cozy fireplace. I recomend this especially if the electric goes out in the winter. It will not heat the whole house or anything but if you put it into a bedroom or smaller room with some ventalation and close the door, I am sure it would keep the room warm. Not hot, but not freezing.

Very well constructed, beautiful design and excellent for small corners. The log lighting effect settings and the heater provides an excellent atmosphere. The motor is a bit noisey. Otherwise, I am sure you will enjoy, sit back and relax.
