Resetting the minimum/maximum setting is as easy as holding down the celsius/fahrenheit button on the rear of the thermometer for three seconds.
Two minor issues-
The sending unit is not waterproof, and needs to be protected from inclement weather. I eventually placed mine in the tool tray of my garden hose reel. The instructions suggested to placing it under a soffit or overhang, however a decorative little bird house would work well too.
In very cold weather, single digits and below, the manufacturer recommends lithium ion batteries for the sending unit, as alkaline batteries don't perform as well in very cold conditions.

The indoor part of the thermometer worked correctly, but the outside unit was always at least 5 degrees off. The outside sending unit was only about 15 feet away from my desk, and only my window was in the way of the signal. I had it under an eave and well protected sun, rain, etc. Fortunately, Amazon credited my account for the full amount and the experience was hastle-free. Have used this for 2 yrs now, just replacing the batteries last month. This unit has recorded temperatures from 4 F to ~100F for me.
I purchased it locally and paid more.
I like these things about it:
A) small counter footprint (2.5" x 1.7"), and OK looks, let me keep it on kitchen counter where it can be seen. It's the first thing I look at in morning.
B) Records high / low outdoor temp reading. good, I know how cold it got last night. Hi/low is easy to reset via button, 2 seconds, by feel w/o glasses.
C) outdoor temp is accurate. 25' distance, next to a liquid thermometer which reads so close to same that now I only use this Acu-Rite one.
Got a second unit as a gift a year ago. Recipient uses his w/o problems as far as I know.
If, if unit failed at this point, I think I'd just buy another.
