This is a good quality cutter. This is made in Taiwan. You need to check out the Rothenberger ROCUT 42TC 52000 Plastic Pipe Shears, it is almost identical to the Lenox. The Rothenberger is made in Spain. The Rothenberger has an extra bend it the cutting jaw that makes cutter smaller pipe (like 1/2" CPVC) easier. The rubber grip on the top handle of the Rothenberger is sticky, where the Lenox is just a rubber grip. Other than that they about the same tool. We bought both of them and they both work good.

I neglected getting a ratcheting PVC cutter , having seen so many not working as spec butthese have been a real help in some tight spots and am very happy with them. I have been impressed with just about evry tool Lennox has brought out and I would confidently recomend this to any mechanic. It is very handy working with sch 40 3/4" pipe...Best Deals on Lenox Industrial Tools 12123 R1 PVC Cutter Upto 1-5/8-Inch
So my co-worker has one and let me use this cutter. I fell in love with this thing, so well designed and built tool, so I went to supply house and bought one, (it was about $20-24 cheaper than internet price). So the only thing I can say: well worth extra dollars(in comparison with $10-20 cutters), buy it. Honestly would give it 6 stars.Honest reviews on Lenox Industrial Tools 12123 R1 PVC Cutter Upto 1-5/8-Inch
This is truly a one hand operated tool. It is so convenient to use and the blade is super sharp making cutting pvc a snapFind helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Lenox Industrial Tools 12123 R1 PVC Cutter Upto 1-5/8-Inch
I'll start out by saying I'm a great fan of Lenox Blades for my Sawzall and Hacksaws, they always seem to have the best and longest lasting blades. Granted they are about double the price, but for the longevity, it is worth it.I bought this tool for two reasons--the blade release function and the reputation of a quality tool, especially the blades. Boy was I wrong. The blade release jammed the first day, and after two days of cutting PVC, the blade had huge divots in it. OK, I thought, must be a bad blade, and I was glad I bought a replacement. It takes about 30 minutes to replace the blade and after another hour cutting PVC, the replacement blade also had the same divots.
This tool is junk. No better than a $15 Chinese el cheapo brand at Home Depot.
