Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program Side by side with our Excalibur dehydrator, this is identical in every way except the name on the label. They have to be the same manufacturer, just with a different brand label on them.
On my older review for the Excalibur my major complaint was that the unit didn't have a timer. Well, this dehydrator is identical to my old Excalibur except with a timer and white exterior vs. black. So for me, this is just great. I also prefer the white vs. the black, which seemed so much more industrial.
Functionally, they seem exactly the same as well, again, except for the Omega having the timer. I know that Excalibur has newer units with timers(mine is at least 3-4 years old)and you can also get them in white now as well.
Honestly, I think any differences between them would be price and if either included any of the silicone sheets to use on the shelves.
Summary: Virtually identical in every way to the Excalibur, so select based on the best deal you can find.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program OK, let's clarify the amount of noise this machine puts out ... it is equivalent to the sound of the exhaust fan in our bathroom ceiling. It makes NO more noise than our dishwasher.Yes, it's a bit distracting if you are watching TV, but it's nothing that should stop you from getting this 9-tray machine. (We moved it from our kitchen to our garage because we have a small kitchen and needed the counter space. The noise was not a deciding factor.)
It is absolutely WONDERFUL!
We dehydrate chicken and beef for ourselves, and for our dog, so that we NO LONGER have to purchase expensive, irradiated jerky made in China. We can season it however we want to, with ingredients that we can tolerate in our digestive tracts in other words, we no longer suffer from gastric disturbances. We have also dehydrated pineapple rings and tomatoes.
It's easy and fun, plus saves money. We run a batch at least once per week, sometimes more.
I researched dehydrators for quite a while because I only wanted to buy ONE and keep it for a long while. This is the machine to go with the fan and heating element are on the back wall of this unit versus on the bottom like in other machines. Therefore, the drippings stay out of the mechanical workings and do NOT effect the durability of the machine.
I highly recommend the 9-tray model so that you can accomplish a lot of dehydrating within a minimal amount of space vs. 2 of the 4-tray models they would need to be set side-by-side as the heat would be a concern if they were stacked directly on top of each other. I would only consider stacking the units if you had a SHELF in-between them.
The Omega is easy to clean and easy to use. I give it my highest satisfaction rating, and encourage anyone who wants a quality dehydrator to purchase this one.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program If you are looking for a large 9-tray dehydrator then the Omega might be just what you need. I have been dehydrating for over a year now using another well known 9-tray dehydrator. This Omega certainly is comparable to that dehydrator. The fan is placed in the back of the machine and allows the air to flow across all the trays. The booklet that comes with the dehydrator covers information on the machine itself plus instructions for food dehydration.I put it through it's paces by dehydrating 9 trays of pineapple slices, 10 pounds of Roma tomatoes and 3 trays of fruit leather. In all cases everything came out perfect. The timer is a nice feature. You know how long the dehydrator needs to run to dry a specific food, this determined from the Dehydration Guide that came with the Dehydrator, then set the timer and walk away. When the time expires the dehydrator turns off.
Mine came with 9 Paraflex sheets. These worked perfectly for the fruit leather and any small items that may fall through the mesh liners on the trays. I was able to peel the leather right off without using any added oil.
My only problem with this dehydrator is that the lovely color scheme on the control panel...different shades of teal...needs to have a bit more contrast. It can be very hard to read depending on where you place your dehydrator. This is a large appliance and it does produce some noise as the fan runs while dehydrating. I generally keep mine in the laundry room as I can close the door and not hear it.
I highly recommend this dehydrator. The guide that comes with it will get you started but you will probably want to look for a few dehydrating books for added information and recipes on dehydrating foods and what to do with that food once it is dehydrated.
Honest reviews on Omega DH9090TW 9-Tray Dehydrator with 26 Hour Timer
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program This is the tool to dehydate a lot of food, quickly and easily!I've been using the round, white, stacking-tray kind of dehydrator for years and always wondered why the Excalibur is considered so great. While this is an Omega, it appears to be the very similar. So I did a side-by-side test on apples (alas, too late for tomatoes. Apples are easy to dry, tomatoes would be a better test).
(1) I was surprised that while the Omega's square space holds more apples than the round trays can fit, they don't hold hugely much more per tray. Not sure if I'm keeping looser or the lack of rim on the Omega trays, or what.
(2) The space for food between the trays is somewhat less in the Omega than the round dehydrator ones. This bothered me in case of drying less-flat foods (whole chiles, for example). But you can just remove a tray in the Omega to make more space, which isn't possible with the round dehydrator. And it's an advantage with flat foods like sliced apples.
(3) The Omega (600watts) drys somewhat faster than the round dehydrator (500watts).
(4) The Omega dries more evenly. Normally with the round trays, I move slices around from the inside to the outside of each tray and rotate trays, while everything seemed to dry evenly in the Omega. I'm also doing this to try to avoid the food sticking firmly to the trays.
(5) The round trays have much bigger gaps for things to fall down to the tray below. Always a problem with herbs especially. The Omega has the fine-mesh plastic liners that keep small pieces in. I suspect that the problem of food sticking to the trays will be much better with the Omega's flexible mesh than the stiff plastic round trays, and cleanup would be much easier. However, the same fine-mesh inserts are available for the round trays, sold separately.
(6) The timer is a nice feature, since I worry about food over-drying if left overnight, and without this feature I often had to turn off a dehydrator overnight when the food was only half-dried.
(7) Being able to take all the trays out means you can use this to make yogurt.
(8) the noise level is fairly similar between the two.
The only real problem with the Omega would be that there's very little rim on the Omega's trays, so for drying grapes or other food prone to rolling, they would roll off everywhere.
The other problem is that this baby is HUGE. Sitting next to the one with round trays it makes the round ones look so puny. I guess storing rectangular things can be easier...

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program We purchased the dehydrator for ourselves and to create healthy treats for the dogs. So far so good! It's easy to use and there is plenty of knowledge out there to help you make great treats.Pros:
Simple to use set the temp, set the time, place the food on the trays and go.
Relatively quiet We've had it running for very long time periods with no noise issues. It's not silent, yet it's not annoying.
Timer is a HUGE plus VERY much recommend spending the extra $$ to get the timer model.
this model comes with the poly mats! No need to purchase separately for those messy items! Excellent bonus!
Cons:
quick guide for basic dehydrating is somewhat useful not the best by any means. We purchased a very good dehydration guide book separately do this! We got Food Drying With an Attitude by Mary T. Bell which has great recipes.
Overall it's a great unit we love the ability to keep our fruits and veg storage friendly and the taste is amazing!
The pups love their dehydrated snacks! liver, chicken hearts, yams, it's easy and fun to do the dogs see this as the 'Magic snack machine' :)
Hope that helps.
