I have a small 20 Watt 12V DC solar panel and two 6 Watt ceiling fans for my greenhouse and wanted to figure out how to turn the fans on when an internal temperature threshold was crossed. This switch works perfectly to facilitate that goal. I used 12 AWG wire and female connectors from Menards to make the connection from the battery to the switch then the same to connect the fans. I positioned the switch at waist height to make certain the majority of the greenhouse was at or about 80 degrees when the switch activates. So far, it all works perfectly. When the sun is out, the greenhouse heats up and the fans go on as soon as the internal temperature reaches 80 degrees. The 20 watt solar panel is more than enough to power the two ceiling fans plus a humidity exhaust fan made from a recycled 120mm computer exhaust fan. As soon as the sun goes down, or the internal greenhouse temperature goes below 65, the fans shut off. I could not be happier with how well this switch works.

Intended use was for mounting to the back of my wood stove in-line with the fan. I wanted one that would come on at low temp and continue to run even when still 70 degrees as that is still warm air to me when it is below freezing outside. I found that since it rarely gets below 65-63 degrees in my house it never shut the fan off. I almost went with the on @100 and off @85 as that seemed to be my only other option, but then found an adjustable one made by White Rabbit(17$ new). To save you some time if you go the adjustable route it is the 3F50-1 model. I have not received the adjustable yet so have no further comments. From experience I would also find a switch to temporarily bypass the thermostatic control if you use your blower to help start the fire as I do.

Well made, good sensitivity, and easy to mount. A true step up from the variable thermostat (and costly) that I thought I needed.
