The fans cannot be reversed as described, also it is not controlled by a thermostat. This fan is a cheapo you can buy for under 20 bucks anywhere. Returned for refund.

We hang these in our doorway because we heat with a woodburner. They help distribute the heat to the other rooms in the house. It is hard to find a fan in the winter in Ohio, but I knew Amazon would have them. Price was ok too.
