If you have kids or neurotics in the house, or have knocked your thermostat loose while moving furniture you might consider getting one of these. It is very simple but sturdy. You can't reach through the vent ports with bent paper clips or wire etc. The vents are staggered in a double layer to prevent tampering.

Although the product is what I wanted, the manufacturer and retailer did not do a good job explaining the dimensions. Improve your specifications especially the dimensions to your customers.
