I've bought this part after my KitchenAid Superba oven (KEBS177DBL7) lost heat after I used SELF cleaning option (for the first time!). This is infamous design flaw in KitchenAid ovens, however, KitchenAid does not admit (even though there are thousands of reports about this in Internet!). I contacted KitchenAid hoping they send me a new thermostat for free but no such luck: even though I am "a valuable customer" they don't care since my oven is out of warranty. It should be called a "recall" considering number of complains, but again KitchenAid doesn't care.

So, this part replaces the original KitchenAid part (p/n 4452223) perfectly, but I am not going to use SELF CLEANING ever again. And this is my last KitchenAid appliance, I'd never buy anything from them again.

The first time we tried to use the self clean feature on our kitchenaid oven. Two and a half hours into the self clean, the oven showed a fault code and shut off. Upon googling the issue, many said the thermostat had blown. Sure enough, this fixed the problem. I did it myself, saved probably $150.00 and didn't spend any more time on the issue than I would have if I had to deal with someone coming in to fix it for me.

If you have a Kitchenaid Superba oven, DO NOT EVER RUN THE SELF CLEAN FUNCTION. It shorts out a fuse that is super expensive. A repair visit will cost you over $100. I ordered this part, removed the oven (found the installation manual online) and easily replaced this burnt out fuse, or thermostat...

I ordered this part to repair my mother-n-law's oven after she ran the self cleaning cycle. It took about 15 min and I had it going again. A lot cheaper than having a repairman do it.

Must be a design flaw...wall ovens frequently stop heating after one uses their self-clean cycle.

The culprit more often than not is a burnt-out thermal fuse on the back of the oven.

Save yourself a bundle...buy this part (or one similar to it for your oven) and install it yourself! It only takes a few minutes, and Presto! your oven works again.

Caution: make sure you order the correct fuse for your oven. Remove the old one before ordering, or look at your oven's specs, to make sure what part you need.
