Used this to fry a bunch of fish, oysters, shrimp, and homemade fries. The capacity is great and the ability to maintain temperatures makes frying fast. I finished the food so quickly, the rest of the meal was not ready. Although some have criticized the magnetic cord, I had no problems. The lift out element and oil pan made cleanup a breeze. My peanut oil was in god condition for reuse. I did use the fryer on my screened porch so I cannot say whether the house would have smelled of frying if I had used it inside. It is large but is not very heavy so setting it up on the porch was easy.

This fryer was easy to set up. I had no problem with the cord. I fried chicken it the fryer and it came out real good. It was easy to clean up when I was finished with it. I had no problem in draining my oil into a strainer reuses.

I bought this fryer because of the fantastic reviews... and, it fell short.

First, the lid is not sealed at all, so, despite the filter on top, your house is going to stink.

Second, the fryer doesn't get hot enough. Heck, it doesn't even get as hot as it says it does. Testing with a thermometer, the oil would only get within about 15 degrees of what the dial was set to. 375 degrees is the max temperature, which really isn't hot enough for great french fries. Chicken fingers, etc are fantastic, though.

Third, it's kind of janky the sheet metal on the sides is flimsy, the control unit doesn't sit straight on the corner of the unit despite being inserted correctly, the basket sits DIRECTLY on the heating element when it's submerged, etc. I'm not sure how this fryer got so many good reviews, but it certainly wasn't because anyone had compared this fryer with anything else.

It's a shame, as I really did want to like it, but it falls short of my expectations in what is a relatively expensive fryer.

This is THE BEST FRYER you will ever own. I've owned it now for a year and have been beyond satisfied. Bought it for fish but use it for everything; fries, chicken, crab balls, etc. Comes completely apart for cleaning (even the lid comes off for easy cleaning). Not too big for the counter but big enough to get the job done. I absolutely love it and would highly recommend it.
