This is a self illuminated thermostat. With some systems it will not operate both heating and airconditioning. You have to install a separate resistor. With the resistor installed, it still didn't operate properly.

The problem I had with my ac was the air handler. It took me a week to have a technician come in an explain and then fix the problem. I am in the process of trying to return this item but I am having a difficult time getting a full refund. I never even opened the box and have explained the situation to the vendor. I may get stuck with it.
