I connected this to an Aprilaire 8600 thermostat. Simple to hook up, only two wires. It comes with about 2' to 3' of wire attached to the sensor with the sensor attached to a bracket. Also a mounting screw, two wire nuts and a plastic wire retainer. You need two screws, one to mount the sensor and one for the wire retainer, but only one is supplied. The bracket shown in the Amazon product page shows a bracket with two holes, but I think that may be an older design. The one shown on the Aprilaire website at
shows the one hole bracket that I received.
I am satisfied that the sensor is reasonably accurate, as I have two other outdoor sensors (different brands and types) located on the same side of my house, and they all register the same temp within 1/2 degree.

I received the item quickly and without damage. Installation instructions were clear and most of my time was spent running the cabling through our finished basement. The unit works like a charm and lately it has been reminding me that the temperature has been well about 90 degrees!

I added the outdoor temperature sensor to my Aprilaire 8600. Now my display shows the outside temperature right along with the indoor temperature. Installation was simple. It is a nice extra feature for the Aprilaire thermostats.
Honest reviews on Aprilaire 8052 Duct or Outdoor Mount Temperature Sensor
I installed a Aprilaire #60 humidistat to replace the older manual model. The new humidistat requires this outdoor temperature sensor. I used a spare pair of wires that went out to my AC compressor and mounted the sensor on the side of the compressor cabinet. No more adjusting the humidistat every time the temperature outside swings.
