I ordered this thermostat to run my new Mr. Heater Big Maxx 75K BTU natural gas unit heater. It was defective and won't work. My installer checked it with his meter and it indeed is defective. It's obviously a cheap imitation of a thermostat. Don't buy one. I've decided to just buy one locally.

i ordered this thermostat to use with my propane heater and when it arrived discovered it was just plain cheap, comparable one at wal-mart sells for 8.00. not worth it, does not need to be this one to work your heater, buy one at lowes or walmart same money but better quality.

Anyone wondering about the performance of these units should not be worried. Used in a 24 x 32 garage in Virginia, the garage is well insulated but has two 10 x 16 overhead drive through doors, two large windows and a pedestrian door...so..there is more than enough air-infiltration. Does not matter, set at 50 degrees all winter and burned a nominal 88 gallons of propane. If you need to warm the space up quick, just turn it up and it makes it toasty in 20 minutes. Good luck....
