Our freezer would not defrost and fridge was warm. Had repairman come in and replace defrost timer 2x, still did not work, told us to get rid of it and buy a new fridge/freezer. Googled the problem...told to replace the defrost heater and the bi-metal defrost unit. Ordered both parts, less expensive than from the whirlpool/roper dealer. My husband spent 1 1/2 hrs defrosting and replacing parts. The bi-metal fit perfect, (both parts did), the fridge/freezer has been working beautifully!
