Each day of the week is separately programmable, which is nice. It is reasonably easy to program and to switch between manual/programming modes.
However, one big downside of this item is that you can only program two temperature levels, although up to four different programs a day. For example, you set high=70F and low=50F, and then you divide the day in 4 parts choosing when you want it to be "high" or "low". Most programmable thermostats in this price range would actually allow you to choose exact temperatures for each programming cycles, rather than requiring a two-point four-programs option.
I am disappointed. I should have bought a more expensive one, or just a cheaper basic one.

Thermostat is easy to install and program and the instructions are clear and complete. However, it seems odd to me that the unit would not have an "OFF" switch. Every thermostat I have ever had possessed this feature. I suppose I can simulate this function by exploiting the "Vacation" (hold temperature) feature and specifying a very low temperature, but that seems rather "Rube Goldberg-ish" when a simple "OFF" switch would have sufficed. Other than that issue, I am satisfied with the operation of the unit during the current heating season.
