I bought (2) of the older versions (at Lowes) and (1) of this version (from Amazon). The newer version is smaller, and easier to install. Wiring is located in center (where it should be) unlike the older version which was a pain to get some of the wires to reach the screw terminals.
Yes, the newer version does not have (LED) status lights. So what.
I linked mine with a Vera2 (paired just fine) and so this is the version to get, not the older one. Works as advertised.

Installed this unit and "included" it into my MiCasaVerde Vera 3 Z-Wave network. Using and the associated mobile site (no apps, just Safari or other web browser), able to control HVAC from anywhere.I'm not sure about any added functionality of using the Nexia subscription service at $8.99/month or purchasing a $29 Z-Wave App from the App store creating an account on MIOS and using a browser work OK (with no extra cost).
Very Nice!
Best Deals on Trane TZEMT400BB3 Remote Energy Management Thermostat
After reading other reviews, I purchased this to add to my ADT Pulse. It was very easy to add to the Pulse system and is working great. The reason I gave it 4 stars is because I like to use a daily program to run my HVAC, then modify it as necessary during the day (either warmer or cooler). This thermostat has a scheduling function, but it's turned off by default. And to turn it on you need to access an installer screen. I did this and now I have a schedule set up. But the assumption is that you will control the thermostat from your Z-wave controller, so the scheduling program is off. It took a while to find this info because the instruction sheet that comes with the thermostat is about installing and basic usage. They're great directions for what they do, but I had to go through the Trane website to find the user manual. My HVAC system already had a 5-wire hookup, so that aided in making the installation easy. I had to hook up the 5th wire to the power supply, but the included instructions advised where to make the connections on the HVAC fan circuit board. It was a breeze. I'm not sure how it would have gone without the 5th wire, so I checked to make sure I had it before ordering. I would strongly advise doing the same thing.
Honest reviews on Trane TZEMT400BB3 Remote Energy Management Thermostat
I purchased this thermostat and set it up without challenge into a Schlage/Nexia system (sister company of Trane). I purchased it for my second home, which is a year-round home. Idea being we keep the temperature safely low but turn on the heat as we're headed out there.BUT, as noted in other reviews, the thermostat doesn't allow programming below 55 degrees F. Given the cost of fuel oil, and the fact that my house can easily be set at 40 degrees without issues of freezing, this was a massive waste of money and effort. Most amazing to me is how this is much higher than the other digital thermostats I've looked at and how they say nothing about it in the literature on the site or in the product. It was only when I phoned customer service (during business hours as they don't run the lines on weekends when you're wrestling with this sort of thing) that I learned it couldn't be set below 55.
Seems to me the whole point of a remote thermostat is being able to crank it down and manage it while away, and this massive gap versus the rest of the market suggests you should keep looking for one more suitable if you want that flexibility.
