I love this blanket! Heats up quickly, very soft and plush, it's so warm I can leave it on it's lowest setting and it's very comfortable.

Highly recommend.

When this blanket arrived, I opened it with some trepidation. Would it be soft enough (my last electric blanket irritated my face), would it have the control I needed, would it be attractive? Yes, yes, and yes!

This blanket is what ALL blankets, electric or otherwise, should be. Light feel, fits the bed well, and...it works. What more could one ask?

This blanket is so very soft. It feels like 2 thin blankets with the heating wires between them. It has a lightweight feel, but heats up very quickly and keeps us both warm throughout the night even at a low setting. This replaced a cheap electric blanket that quit working. We really like the dual lighted controllers.

Honest reviews on Sunbeam BW1210-030-757 Royal Retreat Heated Blanket

The Sunbeam BW1213 blanket warms the bed nicely and keeps us warm all night long. But it is the strangest cloth I've ever seen. It looks like this blanket is made out of one of those hand towels that garage mechanics use. And you can see the heating wires clearly. Every time I pull the blanket up when I make the bed I wonder if I'm going to rip the wires out of the cloth. But so far, the blanket holds together so I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

This item received good reviews on line, and Amazon offered it at a competitive price. I ordered the queen size for a full size bed because I had to have the dual controls. Most of the time my control is set to off, but my wife needs the warmth of an electric blanket much more consistently than I do. This model heats instantly and it provides lots of warmth. If you like your blanket to feel warm, so you do not have to guess whether or not it is working, this is the kind you want. The material is soft and pleasing to the touch. Set to off, the blanket is heavy enough to keep me warm with a room temperature of 65 degrees F, until my biological thermostat drops my body temperature in the early morning. Then I can set the control to low or 2 and go back to sleep. The blanket looks classy when the bed is made up, and it drapes smoothly at the corners. Some of the colors that were available were listed as less expensive than the one I bought. So if you happen to have the right taste in color you can get a bargain. Like most electric blankets you can feel the wires if you try to, but they cause no discomfort when you settle down to sleep.

This purchase allowed me to test Amazon's return policy. The first unit received had a misplaced wire at the edge of one side of the blanket. Replacement was essentially instantaneous and cost free. Excellent response time and absolutely no flack from Amazon.

I just bought this a few days ago because my bedroom has massive windows that are hard to insulate, a cold front just swept in, and I walked to my place on Friday and my bedroom was 62 degrees. My roommates aren't here enough for me to throw money at our thermostat.

WHAT TO EXPECT:

I actually was underwhelmed when I first turned on the unit. Hot air slowly raises from its grate. It doesn't blow out sideways like you'd think. So, the first night, I placed it on the floor and used my laptop at the edge of the bed so the low velocity hot air would actually hit me directly. I was going to take it back the next day.

But after an hour or so, the room warmed up from 64 degrees to 72. When I left my bedroom to get a drink, the frigid air from the rest of my house greeted me as I opened my bedroom door and I ran to the refrigerator to get a water bottle before running back to the warmth of my room. At that point, I realized this product was perfectly fine, I just expected something that was more direct.

WHAT THIS PRODUCT IS FOR:

This product is something you turn on in an enclosed room to gradually heat it. That it has a thermostat setting indicates this, as it will turn off when the room reaches a certain temperature (you can set it 65 to 80 degrees or just "Always On").

This is *not* something you turn on and sit in front of when you're cold. For this purpose, you might want a radiant heater or a ceramic/fan heater that shoots the air out with more of a velocity. This product lets the hot air ooze out of it because it heats the room through convection.

I actually give it 4/5 stars instead of 5/5 because it doesn't do a good job explaining its purpose on the box. The 180/360 degree marketing stuff is just misleading and the feature of being able to close half of the grate is just a gimmick since this product is terrible if you buy it as something to place next to your rocking chair.

PROS:

Super light. Move it from room to room. Take it to the bathroom with you. Take it to your girlfriend's house. No big deal. Try doing that with a heavy portable oil-filled radiator.

Looks great. Just a black minimal tower and I like contemporary aesthetics.

Comes with a remote control which makes sense since this is something you could place in the corner of the room and it still works.

Quiet but definitely audible. I like the breathy low velocity sound of this heater, but if you want 100% quiet, go with a radiator.

Comes with a timer on it (1, 2, 4, 8 hours)

Works.

CONS:

The whole 180/360 grate cover is a gimmick. I just leave half the grate covered as it faces my bed, but it's more of a mental thing since I won't feel the heat until the general temperature of the room rises anyways.

Air slowly rises from it. You can't feel heat with your hand half a foot away from it at grate level. You'd have to move your hand away from the device up at about 45 degrees to follow the heat. This isn't really a con since this device isn't a spot/fan-forced heater, but I'm trying to make this point clear.

This heater works great! My bedroom is 13x11 and our furnace broke this last winter (Detroit, Michigan area) so it got pretty cold, and this heater worked very well. Needed one with a remote if I got hot at night so I would not have to get up and mess with anything, just one click on the remote and it would be off. Kept me very warm on many 10° to 20° nights here in Michigan. I would buy it again. Just as a tip, the heat that comes out of it comes out at a 45 degree angle upward, not like straight out. Meaning, you should probably set the heater on top of the box it came in to elevate it and get better heat spread like I did. (Just a personal note, I do not use the "360 mode" I don't think it works as well, but the "180 mode" works flawlessly!)

The remote lets your turn it on, off, fan on high or low, and set the temp. Infra Red remote so you can point it in the general direction and it will work. (Expectantly at night, half asleep!)

I purchased this space heater thinking it would be a quality product since it is made by Honeywell. I could not have more wrong!! I am on my third unit and it is going back.

The first one wouldn't shut off when it reached the set temperature.

The second one clicked and clicked, made the lights flicker and seemed very unsafe. Used it twice.

The third one worked for a wee bit but then it started in like the others. It clicks and shuts itself off even when in the full on setting, or before the time selected is up, as soon as 5 minutes after turning it on.

When it did work it did a nice job of heating my 14x14 room. It can't handle a room larger than that though.

Save yourself a lot of trouble and buy some other heater. This one is horrible!!! I only gave it one star because I had to fill in one.

OK Bangs and clangs on start up,heat doesn't project out far but remote control is handy and is fully functional.

In all fairness I have to say this product still works as a heater, but it is overpriced and is really annoying to use. I would suggest you get the $20 Lasko ceramic heater which works much better and gives the same heat.

First of all the $60 price really doesn't give you much more feature than my $20 Lasko heater. If anything, this honeywell is just bigger, takes more space but doesn't give more heat (it has the same wattage: 900W and 1500W).

However the most annoying thing about the Honeywell heater is the digital control. It defaults to Hi heat and in order to change it to low you have to press the button 5 times, that's because they combined the Hi/Low settings with the thermostat settings. So the state goes from Hi, 65, 70, 75, 80, Low. I like the Low heat and I turn this thing on and off often, so it's really annoying that every time I want to use it have to push the power button, and then press the temperature settings 5 times just to get the Low heat settings. That's 6 times pushing the button! My lasko heater can do this with just one switch.

I got this unit right around Christmas for a great price from Amazon. It is multipurpose fuel ready, so instead of paying out the nose for Kerosene, I've been using diesel fuel in it, and it works just beautifully. Great for thawing out cars in the shop or heating up a space enough that you can perform some emergency maintenance in the dead of winter.

My old kerosene heater stopped working and I needed a replacement quickly. I saw this unit on sale for a great price so I decided to wait the extra few days for shipping rather than going to the store the same day. My old heater was 60,000 BTU and I paid $180 12 years ago. I had built a wooden stand for it so I could wheel it around my shop. First, this new unit is the exact size as my old one so it fit in the stand perfectly. Second, this unit is 75,000 BTU and I paid less than my old one. Third, it has an on/off switch and a thermostat, unlike my old one. And fourth, it starts up immediately. My old one took awhile I wasn't always sure if it were going to start or not. I couldn't be more please with it.

I needed a heater and called to rent one. I needed it for three days and found out the rental place charged $32 a day to rent. I was pressed for time because it was Tuesday and I desperately needed one for the up coming weekend. They informed me that they rented on a first come first serve basis, therefore there could be a chance I might not be able to get one anyway. I searched on-line to find one that was affordable and found this one on Amazon. The price of the heater was what it would cost me to rent one for three days. After reading the reviews of how quickly others who ordered one got their heater, I decided to give the company a try. I ordered it that Tuesday, and when Friday afternoon came (2:30 PM when it was time for me to go to work)it wasn't here. I went to work disappointed. When I returned home at 3AM there was a note on my front door informing that the heater was sitting on the side of my house hidden behind the garbage cans. Needless to say, I was over joyed. Not only was I able to complete my project over the weekend, it keep my garage at the temperature I needed for 10 hours straight on one tank of kerosene. I highly recommend this heater, and this company. RIGHT ON TIME!!!

This was purchased to replace a cheap mechanical thermostat in a RV travel trailer. I wanted just a plain, no frills (i.e., no programming!) digital thermostat that closed a mechanical relay contact, and had a display that was large enough to read without having to put on the reading glasses. This unit fit the requirements perfectly. The set point temperature goes down to 40 F, just enough to keep the pipes from freezing on cold winter nights while in storage. The high end set point is 95 F, well above anyones comfort level. Remember, this ONLY controls the heater, NOT heat and A/C! My only negative is there isn't a back light, but I knew that before I bought it. Buy it it works great!

This is a very good unit for the money. This was my second order. I have used it for 240 volt and 120 volt heating situations. A plus is that it leaves more room for wires and connections in the box. It will hold a 1 degree difference but comes set for 2 degrees like most units. PapaTom

The first thing we did was replace every thermostat in our new home.

We have been using this thermostat for 3 plus years with no issues.

We did see a huge difference in our electric bill and they have saved us enough cash over the 3 years to cover the cost.

Very simple to install and to use.

Cheap Holmes HRH314 MaxFlow Radiant Heater

I ordered this heater from Amazon to have a little additional warmth in our home office during the chilly winter months. The heat output was far less than expected, and did not seem able to significantly warm the not terribly large (12x10) space. I was also a little disturbed when the unit was accidentally tipped one night and did NOT turn itself off. Fortunately I was in the room when this happened and no harm was done. The real problem though is the heater simply stopped producing heat after 3 weeks of very light use in one room. The fan would blow, but the coils would not heat, turning the device into a fan, rather than a heater. I'm definitely steering clear of Holmes heaters now while searching for my replacement heater. Not at all recommended.

I bought this heater in Oct and used it very little until it quit working in Dec. I tried contacting the company by Planetfeedback.com and through their website to resolve this issue, but apparently they don't see the need to respond to consumer complaints.

I can understand a product being defective, but when a company won't stand behind their products I won't continue to do business with them.

Since my electric bills have climbed through the roof, and since I live alone, I've recently turned to space heaters to save on utility bills. I've also found that radient heaters are better

than fan forced types. Initially I bought a CHEAP radient heater, and it heated the room okay. Except it sounded like a Mac Truck! It was so loud I could barely hear the TV!! I had heard Holmes brands were excellent, so I gave the Holmes radient heater a try and it's simply the best ever!

It heats exceptionally well, shuts off automatically when the room reaches the desired temperature, and, best of all, is amazingly quiet! I would highly recommend this heater above all others...

Honest reviews on Holmes HRH314 MaxFlow Radiant Heater

This heater sets new lows for quality. The fan blades actually hit the sides of the heater. It does have a thermostat, but when it turns on, it creates the most horrific sound I have ever had a piece of equipment make it sounds like a car wreck in process. To add insult to injury, at 1500w it does not even heat the room as well as 400W heaters.

I could not even find this model on the Holmes website. I can't blame them for not wanting to disclose they actually made it.

I can say without reservation that this heater is an absolute piece of trash and a waste of money. My Holmes HRH314 stopped working after two weeks; Holmes obviously has no pride in their products, as this heater is very cheaply made. I severely regret buying this product, as will you.
