I understood when I order this it was for mini but it took me so long to make enough of them for just my husband and my self i have plan to make extra and frezze but this did not happen I do not have the time to waste with this if you have time on your hands great cause it did make good dounets sorry about spelling just not good at it also kids can not make these it gets to hot to be safe with children

I ordered this Fantech 12" fan and found out after I received it, that it was too big for my application. So, I contacted the seller and was immediately given a return authorization and they also sent out a 10" fan that would fit my application. There was an open dialog between the seller and myself and I must say, this was one of my best service experiences since I've been buying from Amazon! I will continue to buy from this seller. As for the Fantech fans, they seem quite well built and I will be able to update this evaluation once I get the 10" fan installed.

Fan works good, although quite noisy. Shutter is garbage.... Doesn't shut all the way and flaps with the slightest breeze.

using it in my basement to keep the air from getting stale, put a timer to run during the day at 6 hour intervals. The damp smell is gone and the sound is pretty quit.

I got one of these last year because i wanted a strong heater in a small package, small footprint, to use in my bathroom, because the built in heater stopped working. It's perfect for heating a small room like that. Then i got another one for my bedroom, it's quiet, strong, and small, it fit into a small space near the bed. Then, i got a third one for the living room. The living room is a large room, and i use the heater like a small fire place, it really pumps out the heat. It's not going to heat the whole living room, but sitting next to it feels like sitting next to a small fire for warmth, very pleasant, not too hot when close to it, just a nice strong warmth. In the living room, the central heating doesn't do that well heating the lower part of the room on a cold night, the heat rises and it can be set on a high temperature and still be cold where we sit, so we use these heaters to warm up our space, nice source of heat, very portable, lightweight, sturdy. No complaints, it's perfect for what i use it for.

This is a handy little heater that serves its intended purpose well heating a small room. I use it to take the chill off my computer room which is not usually heated like the rest of the house since I'm not in there all that often. The unit itself is plastic with a metal grille, but it feels very sturdy and well made. The fan noise level is acceptable. It is far from silent, but is quiet enough that it doesn't interfere. The controls are straight-forward. One dial is the power dial which has 4 settings: Off Fan Low High. The other dial is the thermostat with an infinite range of settings between and +. (I've found that just below the halfway point is very comfortable, but then again, the winters in California aren't exactly subarctic)

I'd recommend this for anyone with a small area to heat. a bedroom, computer room, sewing room, etc. (mine's in a room about 12 foot square). I doubt it would efficiently heat a room that was too much larger.

Follow up review Nov 2011: I just plugged this item in for what will be the 5th winter season. It works as great at it did when I bought it. Still a great item and highly recommended.

Update: 09 Feb 2009. I have learned to sleep with the fan noise of this space heater. However, I'm a very heavy sleeper.

Update: 26 Feb 2009. I am keeping this Lasko heater in the living room. I have bought another heater for my 8' x 10' guest bedroom, the Optimus H-5210 Infrared Quartz Radiant Heater available here on Amazon. The Optimus is virtually silent, and takes a bit longer to heat a room that has a ceiling fan (from 60 degrees, it takes a couple hours to truly heat the room up to 70 degrees), and that's fine with me.

Update: 08 March 2009. I am very happy with my Optimus in the guest bedroom!

Very pleased with this item. I once borrowed a much more expensive heater, and it was no

better than this Lasko. In fact, the expensive one was much less practical because it was not easy to move around. A reviewer mentioned that the Lasko does not have a turn off switch, but that is not really correct; when it is in the standby mode, it is off. It also should be noted that the build quality of the item is excellent. Advice to prospective buyers: don't let the low price fool you.

The thermostat itself is sleek and nice looking with a clear display.

The ADT Pulse system recognized the thermostat right away. Pulse detected it as GE Security: Basic Thermostat Model IS-ZW-TSTAT-100. The Pulse features work just fine with the thermostat: monitoring temperature, setting temperature, and setting mode (heat/cool/auto/off). Since this is the replacement for the 2Gig Z-Stat CT30 thermostat, I assumed it would have the same features. That is not the case. The CT30 is a 5-1-1 day programmable thermostat, although those features are unnecessary and disabled when you use it with Z-Wave. This thermostat has no programming or set-back controls. That won't matter if you are using it with Z-Wave. However if for any reason you ever wanted to use it without Z-Wave, it just allows 1 constant setting.

I purchased a Honeywell only to realize it needed a 24v common wire. Before I went about trying to run the wire, I decided to see if there were any Zwave devices that ran on batteries....hence the 2gig CT100.

As the thermostat is more than 6 feet away from the panel I added a GE hand remote to the panel and then added the CT100 to the remote. I already had alarm.com services active, so as soon as the new device was added I checked the empower tab and sure enough, it was there and working.

Now to eBay the Honeywell....!

The thermostat operates as advertized. The display and touch interface are nice. When I paired it with my z-wave controller, it showed up as 3 devices. I eventually figured out which of the 3 was functional and I have been able to live with it, however it was a bigger headache than expected.

I wanted to be able to set the temperature at my condo before guests arrived, and set it back again after they left. This product, along with a VeraLite Controller worked perfect for my needs.

Only thing I've noticed: my guests sometimes have difficulty figuring out to tap the up/down arrows on the screen to change temperature. they keep wanting to hit the 'Mode' switch.

Overall the installation went fine, even on my oddly-wired Heating/AC unit. I did have to call the company for assistance on which wire went where. They were helpful.

I have two of these in my home and love them. Both are part of a larger home automation system, controlled via z-wave and a VeraLite. Both as a standalone thermostat and as a z-wave device, these perform very well.

My house was built in 1999 and had old honeywell thermostats when I bought it in 2006. After a few years, one of those original thermostats went out and I tried to replace it with a newer Honeywell. The first one I bought was the wrong type (apparently) and Honeywell support directed me to a different model. I bought the one they recommended, but it never worked exactly right... which was mostly my fault for not tracing the wires but partially Honeywell's fault for lacking documentation. When I bought these, I traced the wires to be sure I had everything correct, but discovered that I didn't really need to because the CT-100's documentation covered the wiring scheme I have.

Easy to install (much easier than the honeywells because of wire terminal location). This will likely not matter to anyone but me, but the large footprint of this thermostat covered the old, painted-over-poorly many-times spots left by my old thermostats. It's very sleek and slim and the touchscreen menu operation couldn't be easier. Pairing with the VeraLite was also a breeze. The only reason I give it 4 stars instead of 5 is the lack of schedules/programs. That's easily overcome with any intelligent z-wave controller, though. Highly recommend!

Good easy to use digital non-programable thermostat. Shows room temp and Set Point temp clearly. Has lighted background to be able to read it easy in the dark. It uses 2 batteries for backup, so you don't lose the programing in case power goes off, but it normally runs on the 24v power from the AC unit. Not complicated & easy to use. Perfect for elderly or technology challenged individuals that don't need the programming features. This is a 2 stage thermostat, so it works with a heat pump to put it in cooling or heating mode, and the 2nd stage will turn on the electric heat strip or Emergency Heat if the outside unit can't produce enough heating. It is easy to hook up it you know what you are doing, if you don't, then get a tech to install it.

I got this heater at Walmart about two years ago as an exchange for another heater that was recalled. I rarely used it until a few weeks ago. Seemed to work ok, not the best heat output but ok. But when I went to unlug the cord, the plug was so hot it burned my hand. Reported it to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, but haven't heard back from anyone.

We bought three of these three years ago in an emergency when our main heater blew. The following winter, we tried to reuse them, and two out of three were broken. The one that did make it to the second year died soon after. I remember when things used to last more than 90 days. Avoid this product.

I use this in my babies room at night to keep him warm, it's a little loud when it kicks on and makes a scratchy sound sometimes but my baby sleeps right through it. it can warm his room on low, on the middle setting to about 80 degrees in 6 hours. pretty dang good in my opinion.
