Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program I'm sure this thermostat works well enough, but mine was DOA screen freezes immediately after power is connected. Trane informed me that the unit was bad, and that they would send me a replacement unit and a box to ship the old one back in. A week later, neither item ever arrived, and I got a phone call from Trane "following up" on my service request. I said I never got the new unit, and they said, "We don't handle product returns, you need to return it to the merchant to get a new one." I told them that there was no merchant, that I received the product from them to write a review for it. They insisted that they can't send me a new one. I finally gave up and put my old thermostat back in.

We bought the Schlage Link/Nexia System in Sept 2011. We were very happy with the keypad lock and wantedto be able to program our locks and thermostat online, so we bought new locks, a bridge, and a Trane thermostat.
Now almost 2 years later, the $130 thermostat is malfunctioning. I called Schlage/Nexia and was given a number
to call Trane.
After 30-60 minutes of trying to get tech support or navigate their web site to find tech support, I discovered
that Trane doesn't have tech support. They make you call a local dealer who will no doubt charge you $150-$200
to come out and troubleshoot the thermostat. If I wanted to pay $200 for someone to tell me that I need to push
some buttons to reset it to default (a common solution these days for digital products) or that I need to replace
this $130 product after only 21 months, they could tell me that on the phone.
The end result, I will probably replace this thermostat with another Z wave thermostat from another company.
DON"T BUY TRANE unless you want a complete lack of customer service when something goes wrong.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program Normally, I'd knock it down a couple stars for the monthly fee associated with Nexia, which adds way too much to the cost of the product and makes recovering the cost through schedule based thermostat adjustments highly improbable if not impossible for the average home. But, you can use this otherwise great programmable & Z-Wave compatible thermostat with other home automation systems that don't require monthly fees.I found this thermostat to be very accurate for both temperature and humidity by comparing it to several Oregon Scientific sensors in our home. That's always important for a thermostat but even more so when you want to use it with a home automation / smart setup. For example, our house is set to "away" mode for a long weekend in the hot and humid summers, the Veralite tells this thermostat to raise the temperature to 80 degrees (or higher). However, it monitors the humidity levels. If the humidity in the house goes above 62%, the veralite will (1) lower the HVAC setting so the AC will lower the humidity, then send me a text message so that I can remotely check the temp and humidity. Once the humidity is under control, the Veralite tells the Trane to raise the temperature to the more miserly level, again. It's a great way to minimize my power bill, but to avoid the risks of mold growth. This TRANE is also linked to several motion sensors in the house, making it like a NEST thermostat that graduated magna cum laude.
Numbers / settings are easy to read. The temperature adjustment buttons are easy to push arrows that anyone can use if they want to walk over and adjust the settings.
As mentioned above, I have this connected to Veralite Z-Wave controller, which Amazon sells at a very good price: Mi Casa Verde VeraLite Home Controller, White and Green The Veralite can control this thermostat along with all the other Z-Wave devices (and Insteon) and does more than Nexia WITHOUT ANY MONTHLY FEES.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program I really wanted this thing to work. I even crawled into the crawlspace to make sure I had the blue (C) wire connected to the furnace. Then we had to find the blue wire in the mass of wires stuck in the wall. Finally, got everything connected and put the faceplate on. It would not power on.I called customer service during the stated CS hours, and the phone rang and rang. I could not speak to a rep during the hours the company states a rep is available.
Again, I had high hopes for this. I currently have a pretty nice Hunter thermostat, but I wanted one that I could monitor online. Also, I was quite happy the kit came with some extras (door lock, dimmer, bridge, etc.). Despite my high hopes we had to uninstall the Trane and reinstall the Hunter.
