Used on a whirlpool LE5700 dryer. Replaced the low heat control 145 deg. thermostat. I like drying on the lowest setting to protect the cloth. I installed the thermostat, set adjustment to 140 as per the chart, turned on the dryer and monitored the temperature with my meter as the thermostat cycled at the set point. Worked like a charm.

I bought this fan kit to keep the cabinet housing my home theater equipment from getting too hot. Upon opening the package and inspecting the components, I called CoolGuys because I thought I was missing a connector my bad for not reading the instructions beforehand. They answered the call quickly and explained how the unit needed to be connected so, no missing part. I assembled the kit in about 5 mins. All the materials seem to be sturdy and of good quality. Some posters here have complained about mounting holes not be properly aligned. I did not experience this at all. I installed it in my cabinet in another 5 mins. The fans are absolutely quiet you can't even hear them at arm's length. Great product and excellent customer service. I definitely recommend this kit.

The assembly was a snap and it installed in about 20 minutes. I tried the fans before I cut the opening and was shocked that I couldn't even hear them running 10 inches from me! They work great.

This kit is very well built and seems to consist of solid parts. It took me about 5 minutes to assemble and install it. The fans definitely move a lot of air and keep my components cool, however, the fans have been getting louder everyday. Upon initial installation, they were almost silent, but now I can hear them from across the room. I am not sure if the fans are going bad so I may be seeking a replacement/return.

Honest reviews on CabCool 802 Lite Dual 80mm Fan Cooling Kit for Cabinet & Home

When I got this and plugged it in to test it I thought the fans may be lacking in ability to move air but once I mounted them in my media cabinet I realized they work very well. My cabinet consist of a Power Conditioner, Receiver, Satellite TV receiver, PS3, XBOX 360, Wii, Apple TV, Wireless Router, and Modem. If I had more than one thing on at a time it would get very hot. Not since I installed these quiet fans.

(I uploaded four images of my installation, which will hopefully help folks understand my description.)

My AV equipment is in a cabinet that is built into a false wall in my living room. It has no ventilation so I've had to leave the doors open all the time and it still gets pretty warm in the rear of the cabinet. Enter the CabCool. I read many reviews and selected the 802 Lite.

Some assembly is required ... basically, they send you all of the required parts and you get to put it together, which gives the user the flexibility to change the direction of air flow ... the assembly was quick and easy, and the modular plugs made the electrical hook-up a snap (literally).

I considered getting the unit that has the temperature sensor, but I didn't think it would matter (i.e., I believe it would be running almost all the time anyway), and if I decide later that I would like it, I can pick up a 3rd party temperature controller for about $20.

I installed the unit vertically on the left wall of the enclosure, exhausting the warm air into the space inside the false wall ... the fans straddle the top shelf, with the upper fan pulling from behind the receiver and the lower fan pulling from behind the DVR (the two primary heat generators).

As for the air intake, the cabinet doors are naturally offset from the front of the cabinet, providing a small air gap all the way around. In an earlier attempt to allow the space to cool by natural convection, I had added some "bumper" spacers to keep the doors just slightly open, but it didn't work nearly well enough. I may be able to remove the spacers now, but will probably leave them since they really aren't noticeable.

As others have noted, the fans are amazingly quiet ... you honestly can't hear them when you're holding them in your hand, so the amount of noise they make when installed will depend on how resonant the mounting surface is. In my case, I could just barely hear them when I plug them in, but not once I closed the cabinet doors.

This is a perfect niche product, and was an excellent solution for my situation. Based on this experience I would not hesitate to purchase similar CoolerGuys products.

The towel warmer installed easily and is very solid. It isn't cheap looking or feeling. It actually looks very nice. BUT I am disappointed at the warming ability. I expected the towels to be nice and toasty when I get out of the shower. But they are just slightly warm and really only right in the center where the towel folds over the bar. I put the towel on the bar the night before and have tried snaking it through the warming bars every way I can but the towel is still only marginally warm. So while it is nice to have and looks great in the bathroom I renovated, I am disappointed in the performance. If I had it to do over, I guess I would spend a little more and get a bigger towel warmer that would warm the towels up better.

I bought this for our RV refrigerator. We have a wired thermometer but I wanted a wireless type to get rid of the wire from the sensor to the display that runs under the door gasket. I was a little skeptical that a wireless thermometer would work but it worked so well I could bring the receiver in the house and watch the refrigerator cool down the night before we left for a trip. The display has magnets for mounting that don't stick to a our fridge (all plastic door), we just stick the display to our stove cover as its metal and right over the fridge. The remotes have two mounts; a suction cup and a spring clamp. The display has a min/max function, alarms and it's large enough to be seen easily. All-in-all its perfect for our needs.

I'll preface this by saying I bought this b/c my relatively new fridge seems to hold temperature poorly, so I've had a small mercury type fridge/freezer thermometer (hereafter referred to as "Mercury") since shortly after I bought it. The problem with these is that you have to open the door to read it, and I wanted something that I could have a Min/Max reading throughout the day to note down in case I need ammunition to use against the warranty company. Being able to monitor both fridge and freezer temps is a big plus!

BOTTOM LINE: for those not wanting to read my drivel below -The AcuRite 00986, after a week of use, works great for me... note that I had no battery issues like some have had. See next part...

BATTERY TIPS: doing a Google search on battery characteristics, I found information [link removed by Amazon...] on Alkaline versus NiMH versus NiCd versus other battery chemistries. One of the very useful pieces of info was operating temperature range. Of note: Lithium operates down to -40C (-40F). Alkaline: 0C (32F). NiCd: -40C. NiMH: -20C (-4F). Well, I have a zillion NiMH rechargeable batteries for kids toys and since I really only care if the freezer goes above a few degrees F, then I figured I'd try NiMH for my sensors, before shelling out $$ on the Lithium AAs. Results: my freezer sensor has captured a temp as low as -13F, so I'd say the NiMH option was a smart move. Even if I have to change the batteries weekly, I swap them out with another set of NiMH and put them on the charger for a few hours. So, my advice to you is to get an inexpensive NiMH charger from somewhere ($10 maybe) and a package of at least 4 (~$7-10), but 8 would be nice, NiMH batteries. I'd recommend any low-discharge NiMH, such as Sanyo Enloops. If you really want to cheap out, get NiCd, but they don't have the capacity that the NiMH batteries do. I know the investment is a tad high upfront, but one set of Lithium AAs is $6, and it's single use. With the NiMH, you can use them hundreds of times, and with 2 each in your fridge/freezer sensors, the back-up ones could be in your kids RC car, flashlight, etc. You'll save $$$$$$ in the long run, if you switch your household to rechargeable in general for AAA/AA type applications.

Ok, all the important stuff over, here is the boring, wordy review/information:

I received the AcuRite version (I'm guessing the Chaney branding has gone extinct) of this product, opened it, installed batteries (more about the batteries later), and within seconds, the transmitters were sending temperature information. I let it sit on my desk for a while, and after the sensors stabilized, they were within 1 degree Fahrenheit of each other, and right at what my home thermostat was set to. Good so far!

I then moved to the kitchen and put the sensors in the fridge/freezer, and mounted the display on the side of the fridge next to the freezer. It probably took between 10 and 15 minutes for the sensors to stabilize at the fridge/freezer temps. I bought another mechanical dial type thermometer (Taylor Classic #5924) from Amazon so I could compare the results with the AcuRite and Mercury. I started my "analysis of performance" by placing AcuRite #2 and Taylor in the freezer, and AcuRite #1 and the Mercury in the fridge. They all seemed to line up well, and I monitored things this way periodically over the course of the next few hours. Because my fridge is my biggest worry, I then moved Taylor to the fridge as well, and placed it somewhere else in the fridge away from AcuRite #1 on a different shelf. This way I could tell if temps across fridge were consistent. Again, everything seemed to read similar temperatures, so I'm confident the AcuRite system is A-OK for me.

I've had this installed for about 1 month. Both transmitters and receiver are working well. The freezer chest transmitter is located on the basememt floor about 10' (below)from the receiver on the main floor and the 2nd transmitter is in my frige on the same floor (2nd) within 15'. All working OK. So far, I can recomend this product.

Honest reviews on ACU_RITE Refrigerator/Freezer Wireless Digital Thermometer 00986

I'll keep it short and to the point. It works perfect. It is great to be able to adjust your temps to where you actually want them. The suction cups do not work that very good in my refrigerator but the clips hold onto the shelves just fine. It recommends a lithium battery in the freezer side but so far a standard battery is working fine for me. If you want a wireless unit this is the way to go.

We bought $1200 worth of grass fed beef and a brand new deep freeze so we thought we better get a alarm since we keep the freezer in our basement. One alarm is for the freezer and the other is only for the fridge since you can't set the alarming beeper for low enough for another freezer. We bought the special lithium expensive batteries figuring we want to do everything possible to protect the meat. It was a little hard to find a place in the house it would read the sensors and we would hear the alarm beep. But we finally ended up having to put the alarm unit in our bedroom since that is basically on top of the freezer. It worked erratically for 2 months, would alarm about once every 10 days and say the temp went up 20 degrees when nobody opening the door or anything, never figured that out but then about a week ago it just stopped working. We reset it, changed the $10 batteries, stood right next to the freezer and no matter what we do it won't work. So this product ended up being a big waste of time and money. Not sure if it can be returned after 2 1/2 months or not.

We use this controller along with 5 Aube TH115 thermostats to control the heat in our mountain cabin. We have 220 volt baseboard heaters, this controller allows us to set the temperature to 50 F. when we are away. Two days prior to our arrival at the cabin, we call the controller and raise the temperature to 70. The cabin is then toasty warm when we arrive. I installed the thermostats and controller myself with no issues. Recommend to anyone with a home away from home with electric heat.

This phone controller is well constructed and Aube stands behind its operation. We had difficulty with lightning strikes and had to replace the unit several times, but each time Aube provided the replacement product without any difficulty. It is easy to install and works exactly as advertised with a Steffes Thermal Storage unit that we have.

I use this device to have the attached thermostat turn on the heat in a mountain home 12 hours before I arrive (furnace needs a long time to heat house). No more arriving at 10 PM and having the inside of the house at 40 degrees. This thing works great...providing the power is not out when you need to call it.

Honest reviews on Aube by Honeywell CT240-01/U Low Volt Thermostat Phone Controller

First one I received did not work. Sent it back to Amazon and with no issues received a replacement. Hooked up the replacement and everything worked great the first time. I had the phone connection using a Gigaset controller and my cell phone as the phone line in lieu of a land line. I used my cell phone to check my voicemails and the connection between the cell phone and Gigaset stopped. When I went to use the Phone Controller it did not work. Ended up disconnecting the power to the gigaset and plugging it back in. Solved the problem with the Phone Controller.

There is no customer support by Honeywell for this product. When you call the phone controller it does not beep as described in the directions. You just have to enter your password. Product works, you just have to be patient.
