I was reluctant to order this at first due to a lot of comments around the packaging of the unit and them showing up with dents and scratches. When the unit arrived the outside parcel was a bit torn. However the seller must have taken the feedback that was given and made some changes as my unit was in perfect condition without a single scratch or dent. It was double boxed. The OEM box has the unit inside with a Styrofoam shell. Then the EOM box was lined with stiff cardboard corners and wrapped in Styrofoam around that and then placed in an additional box. Only the otter box had a slight tear. Given the weight of the unit it was expected. Don't hesitate to order this unit as I'm certain it will show up in perfect condition if we were to order an additional one.

The unit itself is made of quality materials. I placed a digital thermometer inside the unit and it holds a sold 37 degrees inside. Keep in mind this is a minifridge and not a cooler. A major difference. The only complaint I have about the unit is that we have it downstairs behind our bar. Not in the bar but behind it sitting on the carpet. When placed on the carpet the door would drag the carpet and after our first basement break in party the door was left slightly open a few times because the door was difficult to shut. I tried to adjust the feet to raise the unit up but was unable to do so because the legs are not adjustable. I happen to have an extra 18X18 tile from the bathroom. I sat the unit on top of the tile and it solved the problem. The door open and shuts perfectly. Keep in mind we do not have shag carpet either. It is a medium density stainmaster carpet with standard stainmaster padding. If you plan to place this in a carpeted area do yourself a favor and go purchase an 18X18 tile.

As others have mentioned the shelves don't hold cans the best when you go to fill it as some tip from side to side when placed vertical. I removed the second from the bottom shelf to hold 4-5Liter kegs. I can hold exactly a case of beer in the bottom section which is not as deep as the others since the compressor housing is in the way. Which leaves me with the top full shelf and the very top shelf that holds them in a horizontal fashion. The horizontal shelf holds a 12 pack 6 on each side. Without the removal of a shelf this unit will not accommodate 16oz water bottles or beer bottles placed vertically. These will need to be placed on their sides unless you remove a shelf.

Overall I would give this fridge a 5 out of 5 or 10 out of 10. It servers our purposes perfectly and it looks great, and it was at a great price point. If I had to make a couple of changes or a wish list. I wish it used an LED bulb for that newer look. Additionally, I wish the light could be turned on when the door was shut since it is a glass face to showcase the drinks inside. UPDATE: Finds out there is a switch inside on the side of the light to turn it on. Check that off the lsit! Other than that it's the perfect height and the top is being used to hold our EdgeStar 5Liter Kegerator. Which places the tap at the perfect height and I am 5'10".

All in all don't hesitate to purchase this unit as I searched for several weeks and really did my homework before ordering a mini fridge for our bar when we finished the basement. I assure you that you will not find a better product at this price point.

UPDATE: Over a year later this thing is still ice cold and no issues. Look no furhter, the perfect minifridge holds true!!!

I was concerned given all the reviews about keeping the drinks cold enough but I use mine in my workout room to house all my exercise drinks and it keeps them plenty cold enough at a medium-high setting (probably due the fan circulating the air which most beverage coolers do not have). I haven't seen any dramatic increase in my electric bill either. My only complaint is the auto-defrost feature. It does auto-defrost and collect the water in a reservoir that is supposed to evaporate by the heat of the compressor. But in my house apparently it didn't get hot enough because it didn't evaporate and over flowed in the back and spilled out onto the floor behind the unit. Now I just keep an eye on it and use a large syringe to remove the water if the reservoir fills up.

Unit arrived undamaged and worked right out of the box. Door was assembled a bit crooked and overall quality is mediocre but looks good from a distance. Have had it about 5 weeks now and it is doing its jobdrinks stay sufficiently cold, good capacity, internal fan helps a lot (main reason I bought it) and is quiet enough in my family room adjacent to my home theater setup. Stopped working once for some unknown reason (maybe got a bit hot as I have it installed in a tight cabinet spaceIFU clearly says it is designed to be free-standing) but after unplugging and letting it sit for 30 mins, it started up again and has been fine ever since. I check the external cabinet temp regularly and while it does get quite warm to the touch, it seems to be okay installed as is. A good idea is to keep it out first time it cools down your drinks (it will work quite hard doing this), then when the compressor cycles off (ieit has reached its set temp), you can push it back in. Overall it seems to be a good deal for the price.

I am having a bar installed and decided to get a nice fridge to show off some coors light cans and bottles. Some reviews about coldness scared me but there were also plenty saying they had exploded cans. It is a nice looking fridge but I plugged in for 2 days with a glass of water and a thermometer and could not get temp below 42. I don't think danby is good for coolness. My friend bought a danby kegerator and could not get temp below 37. He returned and got a Summitt and it worked great so I got one also. I don't know why they can't just make a compressor to get to below freezing level. Cant cost that much more. Bottom line if you want ice cold beer don't buy this fridge. On the plus side Amazon will be sending UPS to pick up tomorrow no problem. Happy with Amazon unhappy with Danby.

I picked this one for the size and design. I considered a full size fridge, but there aren't a lot of options that don't include a freezer, and in those size/price ranges, none of them are frost free. I didn't want to deal with that.

I've had the Danby for a couple of months now. I keep it in the basement, so it's in a cooler place, and doesn't have to work so hard. I do like to keep my drinks ice cold, and even when fully loaded, it delivers. And I do not have the temp setting at the coldest.

Using it primarily for bottles. Almost all the smaller fridge and beverage coolers show with cans, so it's tough to judge how many bottles it will hold. So I got the larger size. Turns out that was a good idea, since the shelf mounting options are fairly limited, I ended up using only 2 shelves to maximize the placement of bottles. And it holds a LOT of beer bottles. I can fit about 20 lying down on the bottom, in front of the compressor hump, and each shelf is, I think about 7 bottles deep by 6 wide. It's a LOT of room.

Gets everything cold pretty quickly and keeps it there. In my random trips to the basement for beer or other things, it is rarely running the compressor, so it seems to be fairly efficient.

I do have a couple of nitpicky complaints:

The wire shelves do not suit for balancing a full load of bottles, you end up with bottles leaning on other bottles because of the spacing of the wires. It still works, but it could be better.

What the heck is up with the top shelf with the hump in the middle? Seems like it's a spacer for the light, but it doesn't seem to make any sense to me at all, I don't use it.

If you live in a humid area, like I do, you'll have a LOT of condensation on the glass. When I first turned it on, the front glass was completely covered with a thick layer of water. I wiped it clean/dry a couple of times after it was cooled down to the proper temp. That helped a bit, but the bottom 1/2 to 1/3 is usually wet at all times. Not bad enough that you can't see inside, but maybe it needs better dual-glass insulation or something? Not sure.

Overall, I'm very happy with it so far. I can easily fit 10 different 6 packs and a 12 pack or 2 of bottles ice cold.

This dehydrator is top notch for the money. I read the reviews, making note of people wanting timers, time tables in the instruction manual being incorrect and one that states they didn't like the hole in the middle, huh? That's where the fan blows hot air downward. As far as a timer and the manual being off on time tables, let me point out you don't need a timer and you don't want to rely on one. This dehydrator doesn't take days to finish, so if you have to leave the house or go to bed..unplug it. Use it when you can check on the progress. It's not a Crock Pot. As far as the time tables being off, take into consideration that people cut their foods into different thickness and a quarter inch differs from eye to eye. Humidity levels are different place to place and so many different factors are in play. So the time tables are only a guide and not the law. That's why you DON'T want to use a timer. This product can also be used WITHOUT electricity. Take the top motor off, cover the top of the trays with clear or black plastic and set in the sun. It's a great product and a good buy,

I bought this product because I am getting into raw foods. It works beautifully to dry fruits and vegetables. I have done apples, pears, mango, bananas, strawberries and pineapple. The dried watermelon and cantaloupe are the best, as they taste like candy! It also does a nice job on flax crackers. I would suggest rotating the trays mid-way, since the top and bottom trays seem to dry more quickly.

This dehydrator works just the way it should quietly and efficiently. The jerky came out perfect and took slightly less time than was expected (about 6 hours). Given the relatively low cost and ease of use, this product is worth it. If you are going to do more than 3 pounds of meat you might want to buy additional trays. Cleanup was also quite easy. There are other products that cost more, but I doubt that they do the job any better.

Honest reviews on Nesco American Harvest FD-61 Snackmaster Encore Dehydrator

I read the reviews on all sorts of dehydrators before purchasing one and everyone agreed: BUY THE NESCO. I like my nesco a lot, we use it all the time for beef jerky. We tried doing pineapple in it, but it seemed to be a waste as the pineapple tasted better fresh than dried.

The jerky maker gun works ok, the spices are a little 'ick' that came with it. We used the jerky gun once, and then we stuck with london broils or flank steaks as our meat of choice for jerky.

Most people say my beef jerky is the best they've ever tasted. I slice london broils (bought on sale) against the grain("on the bias")very thinly. Use a very sharp filet or chefs knife. I marinate the strips in a bowl in the frig for 12-24 hours in 1cup soy sauce, 1cup teriyaki, 2 tbs brown sugar 1tbs black pepper.

My machine holds about 3 lbs of marinated jerky, and it takes around 4-5 hours to dry. I let the jerky rest/cool on a plate, then i store in a ziplock baggie.

GREAT VALUE makes INCREDIBLE jerky. Only wish this product had a timer or an on off switch.

Let me just start off by saying that i gave it 4 stars because there is a disadvantage to having a whole in the center. But i bought this because the dehydrator i really wanted was $200 and i wanted to make sure i would enjoy the foods i could make with it. I would actually want to give this a 4 1/2 stars.

I got this because I am switching over to a more raw diet. I got a few cookbooks that have lots of mouth watering recipes but they required a food dehydrator. I love it. This one is soft, just a low hum. I have kept it on for days at a time making lots of goodies.

One thing i noticed when i put a thermometer in the machine is that is is 10 degrees off and so i keep it at 105 to give me the perfect 115 for "cooking" raw foods. So i suggest you do the same if you get this machine. I put it in the bottom vent.

This machine is so easy to use i am having tons of fun. If you are buying your first dehydrator this is the one to get. If you are getting it for raw foods buy extra fruit roll up sheets. It comes with one but i use them a lot!

Let me first inform you that this product comes also with stainless steel shelfs. Do not buy chrome shelfs because they rust. Stainless shelf cost a little bit more, but it is worth it.

I think name "Sausage maker" hurts company, because people who want to eat raw wrote off this choice.

This dehydrator on its lowest setting dries between 90-105.

I chose stainless steel because it is sturdy, and large. To pay over 200 for plastic Excalibur is ridiculous. Excalibur commercial stainless steel cost over 4K. So this product looks cheap in comparison.

My impressions:

1. I was surprised when I unpacked this, how primitive really dehydrators are. This is basically just a box and inside is ittle heating element with fan. That's it. Any handy person can create ths for 50 dollars and probably better one. If you have a handy person around, you should build one.

2. D10 is made of stainless steel sheets that were screwed together. The door slides from up do down and is just piece of sheet metal with small vents. The edges of sheet metal are... sharp! and I am really surprised comapny did not invest a little money to put some rubber guards. I already cut myself on the edge of the door.

3. Dehydrator works well, it is quiet, has nice peaceful humming sound. It will not bother anybody, it has calming effect.

4. It is large and shelfs slide easily in and out. If you are serious about dehydrating, size matters. Anything smaller and you will be less productive, more frustruated.

5. You really need to buy teflon sheets for this. There are websites out there that sells these. Buy 2-4, you will need them. They are very easy to clean.

I am happy with this food dehydrator. I received it in a timely manner, and start using it the end of this summer. It has done a great job. I love the timer and heat settings. So far so good.

Well, there is not much to a humidistat, it works well. I have the digital display that tells me the humidity in my house and it seems to match the settings on this humidistat. So far I am happy. I would recommend this product plus it looks good.

Click Here For Most Helpful Customer Reviews >>

The settings on the one I received are off by approximately 20 percentage points. For example, with a setpoint of 25% it will control humidity around 46%. The unit has about a 5% hysteresis. Although I would consider this unit defective with a setpoint inaccuracy this large, I realize it is an inexpensive mechanical humidistat so I wasn't expecting much. It will suffice for my needs I just have to keep in mind the scale isn't accurate.

Works great, but it had very tight place for wires if you do a surface mount.

Honest reviews on Honeywell H8908B Whole House Humidistat

This product was easy to install with the HE260A. I wish I would have purchased the one that displayed the humidity in my home but that's my fault for being cheap.

I returned the first unit I received as defective. Amazon promptly shipped me a replacement, but unfortunately it arrived with the same defect. Units are not calibrated to any level of usable accuracy. A set point of 10% on the humidistat is actually 45% as verified with a quality sling psychrometer. At 20 degree outside temperature you should set your humidifier to 35% and even lower as the temperature drops. This is not possible with this amount of mis-calibration.

I LOVE this slow cooker. The meat probe means I can make a roast that can be medium or medium well, not nessecarily cooked to a lump o mush. I love that you can cook on "manual" mode like a traditiona slow cooder, or you can use the timer and once the time is up it will automatically keep the food warm on warming mode, or you can set a temperature for doneness for the meat probe and then the slow cooker will switch to keep warm. Doens't cook overly hot and is able to cook perfectly even when the crock is only half or 3/4 full.

Before purchasing this, I was a bit concerned by some of the reviews. So, I read the instructions carefully and kept the box in case it needed to be returned. The box is going in the trash since I've used it for two weeks and multiple times with different recipes including a roast. I use it for both the family meals and to make homemade dog food. Those who have problems switching to the automated crockpot may have assumed that it works the same as the old technology and skipped the directions. First off, it does need to have sufficient liquid in it which the manufacturer explicity says in the directions. Secondly, the "low" is probably higher than the old low but there is an easy fix. If you use the timer, it switches down to "warm" after the cooking time is over. So, if you know it is going to be a full 14 hours until you eat the meal, set up the cooktime for LESS than if you were going to pull it out on time and let the warm continue to slowly cook it. Everything comes out perfectly that way. The probe works great and so does the manufacturer's suggestion of putting the meat on top of onion slices to give it a space underneath for juices etc. Mfg doesn't recommend frozen but I've simply allowed extra time and used the probe once the meat was thawed enough. This is nice enough that I've considered getting a second one for large get togethers. Or, maybe getting one to set it aside as one of my "emergency presents" to be tucked in a closet.

This is the best slow cooker that I have ever used. The programmable feature is superb. Most other programmable slow cookers only allow you the choice of either: 2 4 hours on low or 6 8 hours on high---no mix and match. This one allows you to program exactly as you need. Nice design also and very roomy for meats. You won't be disappointed.

Honest reviews on Hamilton Beach 33966 Set 'n Forget 6-Quart Programmable Slow Cooker

I was absolutely in love with this slow cooker for the two weeks that I've had it. This was going to change my life! I cooked a gorgeous beef roast for an unhurried evening meal, made overnight oatmeal for a relaxed breakfast and decided to use it for a stew today. I'm expecting 4 overnight guests and the thing is DEAD! It won't power up! I plugged it in 3 different outlets and even called customer service hoping there was some fancy reset button I had missed. Well, I guess once in a while the programmable ones turn up faulty I'm quoting the customer service person here. So, I have a stew bubbling away merrily on my stove and am a few hours behind on getting ready for this evening. But. . . .having said all that when I return this baby to Costco (sorry Amazon) I'm going to turn right around and get the same model once more to give it another chance.

I love this slow cooker! I've had it for about 6 months and it cooks great! I put my ingredients in the pot in the morning before I go to work and I come home with a cooked meal! Doesn't get any better than that! I love the different cooking features on there like the amount of hours and the desired temperature set, I highly recommend this product!
