This dehydrator is top notch for the money. I read the reviews, making note of people wanting timers, time tables in the instruction manual being incorrect and one that states they didn't like the hole in the middle, huh? That's where the fan blows hot air downward. As far as a timer and the manual being off on time tables, let me point out you don't need a timer and you don't want to rely on one. This dehydrator doesn't take days to finish, so if you have to leave the house or go to bed..unplug it. Use it when you can check on the progress. It's not a Crock Pot. As far as the time tables being off, take into consideration that people cut their foods into different thickness and a quarter inch differs from eye to eye. Humidity levels are different place to place and so many different factors are in play. So the time tables are only a guide and not the law. That's why you DON'T want to use a timer. This product can also be used WITHOUT electricity. Take the top motor off, cover the top of the trays with clear or black plastic and set in the sun. It's a great product and a good buy,

I bought this product because I am getting into raw foods. It works beautifully to dry fruits and vegetables. I have done apples, pears, mango, bananas, strawberries and pineapple. The dried watermelon and cantaloupe are the best, as they taste like candy! It also does a nice job on flax crackers. I would suggest rotating the trays mid-way, since the top and bottom trays seem to dry more quickly.

This dehydrator works just the way it should quietly and efficiently. The jerky came out perfect and took slightly less time than was expected (about 6 hours). Given the relatively low cost and ease of use, this product is worth it. If you are going to do more than 3 pounds of meat you might want to buy additional trays. Cleanup was also quite easy. There are other products that cost more, but I doubt that they do the job any better.

I read the reviews on all sorts of dehydrators before purchasing one and everyone agreed: BUY THE NESCO. I like my nesco a lot, we use it all the time for beef jerky. We tried doing pineapple in it, but it seemed to be a waste as the pineapple tasted better fresh than dried.

The jerky maker gun works ok, the spices are a little 'ick' that came with it. We used the jerky gun once, and then we stuck with london broils or flank steaks as our meat of choice for jerky.

Most people say my beef jerky is the best they've ever tasted. I slice london broils (bought on sale) against the grain("on the bias")very thinly. Use a very sharp filet or chefs knife. I marinate the strips in a bowl in the frig for 12-24 hours in 1cup soy sauce, 1cup teriyaki, 2 tbs brown sugar 1tbs black pepper.

My machine holds about 3 lbs of marinated jerky, and it takes around 4-5 hours to dry. I let the jerky rest/cool on a plate, then i store in a ziplock baggie.

GREAT VALUE makes INCREDIBLE jerky. Only wish this product had a timer or an on off switch.

Let me just start off by saying that i gave it 4 stars because there is a disadvantage to having a whole in the center. But i bought this because the dehydrator i really wanted was $200 and i wanted to make sure i would enjoy the foods i could make with it. I would actually want to give this a 4 1/2 stars.

I got this because I am switching over to a more raw diet. I got a few cookbooks that have lots of mouth watering recipes but they required a food dehydrator. I love it. This one is soft, just a low hum. I have kept it on for days at a time making lots of goodies.

One thing i noticed when i put a thermometer in the machine is that is is 10 degrees off and so i keep it at 105 to give me the perfect 115 for "cooking" raw foods. So i suggest you do the same if you get this machine. I put it in the bottom vent.

This machine is so easy to use i am having tons of fun. If you are buying your first dehydrator this is the one to get. If you are getting it for raw foods buy extra fruit roll up sheets. It comes with one but i use them a lot!

my only dislike of this product is that I wish the blower fan pushed the heat further out rather than a direct upward draft. I have 9 foot ceilings and I want to heat my room, not the ceiling. It was a great price, east to put together and looks gorgeous.

This is our third Dimplex living flame electric heater. We have two that resemble free-standing coal stoves and our last purchase which is this Traditional Electric Fireplace, Burnished Walnut. The wooden surround is real wood and not particle board. It requires assembly but is so well made, it is actually a pleasure to put together. Good furniture grade product. Love it!

I would have given a rating of 4.5 stars instead of 5 stars. It looses 1/2 point because the "flame" effect seems a little dim. In the other two heaters, the flames are much brighter and really look authentic. This looks a little holographic but is not objectionable. From a distance of 4'-6', the effect is nice but requires the room to be a little dark. Around dusk, you get a nice cozy feel when it is on and it completes the mood which is very nice.

To compensate for the dim flames, I considered putting higher wattage bulbs in, but they are mini-base bulbs and only go to 60 watt, which is what the fireplace came with. Careful consideration led me to increase the flame brightness by creating a reflector to augment the light. The bulbs are covered by a small inspection panel which is easily removed. I cut two pieces of aluminum foil the size of the inspection cover. I attached one piece to the inside of the inspection cover, shiniest side out and the other to the space below the bulbs, shiniest side up to create a two sided reflector. I don't exaggerate when I say that it doubled the brightness of the flames immediately! An added unexpected benefit is that the unit is cooler to the touch on the inspection cover, which got quite hot from the burning bulbs. Apparently, the reflector reflects the heat from the bulbs as well as the light, hence the cooler feel. A good job all around!

I would only ever consider buying a Dimplex product as I have done so for over 20 years and have always been completely satisfied with their performance. The 3D flame effect is unmatched and the remote control is a nice touch. I highly recommend this particular product, and look forward to enjoying it for years to come, especially since I made a simple

modification which enhances the experience.

Stopper Thermowell Review

I use a 6.5 gallon carboy as my primary fermentor. The stopper that this thermowell comes installed in is just a little undersized for the 6.5 gallon carboy. It is almost flush with the rim of the carboy mouth when it's inserted tight enough to ensure a seal. The stopper appears to be made of a dense foam and I noticed if it was wet when inserted into the fermentor it tended to pop back out unless it was really pushed in there hard. I actually pulled the tube out of the stopper and installed it in another cap I had with two holes in it. Maybe I'm being too picky about sealing the carboy but I know I would worry about it if I used it the way it came. The transaction with the seller was good though.

I just started using this in my controlled fermentation chamber & it works very well. It allows my Johnson Controls regulator to slide right in & take an accurate reading from the middle of the wort in my 5.5 gallon carboy. It fits perfectly into the opening. I honestly can't see a problem with this. I imagine if you had a larger carboy it could be a little small but for most batches for most homebrewers this works just fine. No complaints here. It also arrived early!!

I used this product only a little before I bought a hood thermowell from a different site. I like the size of the thermowell and how long it is, but I found myself having trouble keeping the stopper part secured in the carboy. StarSan makes it slippery.

It's an ok product and does what it is meant to do, I just prefer my hood thermowell more than this.

I first want to let everyone know who buys this, probably MOST of these fireplaces come in 2 boxes so dont worry when you just get 1/2 (1 box is the insert and 1 box is the mantel)

That being said, I am absolutely in love with this Fireplace. My home is very open and very white so this was a perfect choice for what I need, The color is off white and the details on the mantel are very simple but quite classy.

Putting the unit together was very easy, the directions were very strait froward and easy to follow, everything was numbered correctly even the hardware bag with the screws and dowels. (only needed a Philips screw driver )

Once put together the fireplace feels very solid and sturdy. (I have the fireplace on carpet and a very fat curious cat so was worried about tipping, that wont happen) . The flames look great (as 1 person said they look about as real as any fake flame could look) The heating unit puts off a good amount of heat and the blower sounds about what you would expect,(blowing) I dont find it bothersome or loud.

Over all I am finding this to be the perfect addition to my living room and I feel quite confident in recommending this fireplace for durability, quality, ease of putting together, and above all beauty!!

The fireplace does look very nice. However, the flame effect is not as realistic as another fireplace I purchased from Lowes for $250, which was a bit of a disappointment.

THe major issue I have with this item is that the flame effect has become increasingly noisy. THere is a continual knocking sound, which is caused by the servo motor that spings the reflector to create the flame effect. Its too noisy to switch on, and I fear that soon it will break altogether. Not what you expect for $500.

I should have bought a better quality one.

I got this delivered today. Very fast shipping. A little hard to put together for a woman. One piece got bumped off during shipping but I was able to glue it back. After assembly this fireplace is beautiful. The flames look very real and it puts out good heat. It's also a very good size. I would have given 5 stars but didnt because of the one piece and a few nicks. I would recommend this fireplace. :)

A costly product for less than a year's seldom useage and it was not abused. It was easy to clean. What stuck me as odd was the magnetic electrical connection. I sincerely think mine went bad at the electrical point. It never seemed to make a solid contact, therefore wouldn't work.

There is NO dial to turn to filter the oil and there is NO slide out container for the oil to filter itself into.

You CANNOT raise and lower the basket with the lid on as the basket hooks to drain the food only attaches over the top of the oil container and this would allow the oil to drip off the hooks onto the counter top.

I bought this to control an exhaust fan in my sunroom, that currently has a regular 'light switch' to control it manually. The Amico is rated for plenty of amps, and while it worked for my purpose there are things that would help. First, while it is small enough to fit in a switch box, the electrodes stick straight up which necessitated bending them back, bending the spade connectors, mounting the switch below midline, and swathing the whole thing in electrical tape since the connectors pushed against the metal box. I also had to cut a sheet steel plate to hold it in place. It will be ok, but the seller might help by providing a stamped metal plate to fit a standard receptacle box and providing some flexibility for connections, i.e. screw or push in fittings. Still, a very affordable solution for the problem. Would be perfect for a beer fridge, in the right temp range.

This is a very high quality product that incorporates both function and aesthetics. The installation was completed by a plumbing professional, so I cannot comment of ease of installation.

One thing to note ... In the images posted online the two knobs look as if they are nearly flush with the coverplate. This is somewhat deceptive as this will depend on the depth of your walls. We live in a 16 story high rise with shallow spaces between the walls and this resulted in a knob that sticks out further than anticipated. The sleve that is seen between the knob and the cover plate is a beautifully polished chrome, so it still looks finished, but it is not what we were expecting.

The thermostatic control works beautifully and we like having the on/off knob seperate.

I took a risk and bought this item without reading any reviews, it was definitely a bad idea. Today I'm returning it due to the poor performance.

It's a great idea, easy to clean, plus you get a sandwich maker and a grill all in one. The bad part is that unless you really enjoy chewy soft waffles or sandwiches, you better stay away from this item.

The instruction manual says that a waffle will probably take 2-3 minutes. After 4 minutes inside I had to take my soft albino waffle and put it in the toaster.

It simply doesn't get hot enough!!!

If it wasn't for the design I would have given it 1 star....

A versatile little machine that offers many food prep options at a good price, the Elite 3-in-1 Grill is a good buy. The 3 different plates (waffle, sandwich, grill top) are easy to swap out, use, and clean. The machine is easy to store & does not take up much counter space. It's small size makes it ideal for meal preparation for 1-2 people, but might be a drawback for larger families. It would be great in dorms or small apartments. The biggest problem we found was that there is no drip pan or any release valve for grease. When using the grill pan the food sits in its own grease. Unlike many other grills there is no way to pour the grease out of the Elite 3-in-1 Grill easily. I used a turkey baster (multiple times) to remove enough grease before pouring the rest into a drip jar.
