This unit is the second one i purchased in a 1 year spread. I have an approx 2200Sq ft. house with cathedral ceilings throughout 80% of my home. i researched and originally cheaped out using an in line duct fan "useful as a poopy flavored lolly pop" it did not move anything.

Once smartened up, i used 2 14x14 return ducts with filter grills for the intake at the highest point on the wall in the wood burning stove room, i used 7x14x8 vents in the rooms to receive the warm air from the stove room and ran approx 25-40 ft. of 8" insulated flex duct to connect the intake to the vent to 2 ends of the house (my daughters room and the master bed room) once i found the location for the centrax's, approx midpoint in the flex duct, i cut the flex and mounted the centrax's and installed 1 -8" round metal duct to each end of the centrax's with 1/2 inch self tap metal screws and applied duct caulk to the metal plastic seam. slid the flex over the metal duct and finished with duct tape. now on to the wiring, from each fan to the predetermined location's of a thermostat's in each bedroom, i ran a length of 14/2 wire from fan to hole in the bedroom walls. from the attic area, i located a hot lead placed a 4x4x2 electrical box and connected 2 lengths of 14/2 wire from the box to each fan. in each bedroom, instead of a simple wall switch, i choose a single pole in line voltage thermostat (commonly used for electric baseboards) i connected the thermostat's as the switches so i could set the temps to my desired temp and they would only activat the fans when the temps dropped below 72". back to the attic. from the thermostat i connected the black lead to the hot black lead of the attic electrical supply. i then connect from the thermostat, the white lead to the hot black lead in the centrax, Thus the closed circuit and thermostat as the switch. Then the white common from the eletrical box in the attic to the white common in the centrax. The ground from the electrical box in the attic to the ground in the centrax and ground from the thermostat. This thing is a monster and makes zero noise except the noise of the moving hot air. i now use no oil when the stove is loaded no matter how cold it is outside. myself and my daughter can choose 2 completely different temps in each of our bedfooms and all are comfy. when choosing to redesignate the wires in your home, it always wise to use color coded tape in the connection areas so when you move, nobody runs into any surprises. i am not an electrician, nor am i suggesting the above is code or safe, i will leave that up to you to hire an electrician to verify the above. good luck, this was a plan in the works for years and boy am i satisfied.

Received a brand new hearter today! No cost for shipping either to or from the company. Based on the excellent customer service I am increasing the rating up to 4 stars. As I originally reported, the heater works very well at heating my garage.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Updated 3/5/11

Contacted Mr. Heater and they had me box up the heater and they had FedEx pick it up at their expense. They say they will send a replacement once they have looked at the returned item.

Updated 2/26/11

I had been very pleased with this heater UNTIL today. I have used the heater several times during the past 2 months. Today I warmed up the garage and worked during the morning then shut down the heater and ran some errands. I started the heater this afternoon and after about about 10 minutes I looked over at the heater and there were FLAMES coming out from all sides and the main burner valve knob was on fire. I ran to the propane tank and got everything shut down Thank goodness I was watching, the rubber propane hose could have easily melted and I would have had a wreck. It appears there was a malfunction on the burner valve that allowed gas to escape and ignite. Now 1 month past Amazon Return time I have to deal with manufacturer warranty. So now I have to mail it in, at my expense, and wait to see if they will stand behind the product. In the mean time I have no heat in the garage.

__________________________________________________________________________________________

I have only had this heater two days. That said, I took it home yesterday attached the propane (that was essentially all there was to set-up) and fired it up on low and it put out a pleasant heat.

This morning the temperature was about 6 below zero and I turned the heater on and set it on high. I let it run for about 15 minutes and the garage had warmed up significantly, it was at least 40-50 degrees and possibly warmer. I didn't check the thermometer (digital one in my car) until after I left the garage. But as I was driving my car away from the garage I noticed the temperature was rapidly counting down at that point it was already down to 20 degrees and continued down to the outside temperature of 6 below.

My garage is detached 30' X 30' with 14' high ceiling, so it was heating over 12,000 cubic feet.

This is a replacement space heater. The previous one was a Mr. Heater Portable Propane Forced Air Heater (jet heater). I was a bit worried with the fact that the new one was convection but that concern was unfounded. It actually heats the area much faster. The convection heater does not seem to put off nearly as much smell as the forced air heater, in fact it was essentially odorless. Although with this first test I did not use a fan to circulate the warm air, I am sure that will improve it's already impressive performance. Unlike the forced air heater, this one does not require an electrical connection to operate so all you have to do is supply the gas and turn it on. One possible drawback would be that I was able to use the forced air heater to thaw frozen pipes since you can direct the heat, and the convection heater won't work for that.

It does make noise as it burns the propane. If you have a weed burner, or a branding stove, that is what it sounds like. The volume increases at higher settings. It was a little quieter than the forced air heater though.

Honest reviews on Mr. Heater MH200CV 200,000-BTU Propane Convection Heater

Ordered through smazon Mr. Heater MH200CV December 13, 2011. Unit was shipped and received timely. Did not have need to install unit until February as the weather here in North Georgia is quite mild this year. I hooked the unit to a 100 lb. propane tank and tried to light the pilot after observing all fittings were tight and the heat control knob was properly positioned. Upon depressing the pilon/safety button, I heard a loud hissing sound indicating that propane was flowing through the lines unobstructed. Immediately I depressed the igniter button several times attempting to light the pilot light...no luck. I discontinued the effort to light the pilot. I tried this several more times to no avail. Finally, I remedied the excessive propane through-put by barely depressing the pilot button...presto, the pilot light with a monstrous flame. In addition the burner was ablaze also without the the burner knob still in the pilot position (fully clockwise). Upon releasing the pilot button the flames were completely out of control. The thing acted as if the burner valve was fully open although it was completely closed. The heater would do this wild activity for a few minutes then it would flame out at which time I would make hasty tracks to shut the gas supply off.

NOTE: The gas flow is so great that the pilot cannot be lit if the button is fully depressed. I could light it only when the valve was partially opened.

This thing is dangerous. I will be in contact with the manufacturer on Monday next. I'm hoping for the best as some other customers with similar problems have had difficulty getting their problems fixed through the manufacturer.

I checked all settings several times and tried to get the unit to operate normally--no luck.

It served its purpose. But for some reason or another, it stopped working. We were building a house and we needed a heater that could give sufficient heat in an under construction building. It did that, but it didn't hold up well. The construction heater got a leak in the on / off valve.

Well, i have never had an electric blanket which lasted very long, but this is the second winter I have this pad in place, and I would probably be too cold to type if I had not just gotten out of bed in our unheated house.Stick this under the sheets and pile on the quilts and even if you are a small, shivering skinny woman, you will sleep like chicks under the mother hen. I hope I have not put a curse on this thing by writing this.

Third winter using it all night and during naps. Everything's working great and I'm actually going to buy the twin pads for my 3 kids since they've begun jumping into my bed b/c it's so warm! The dual controllers are so convenient b/c I love it set mine to warm all night while my husband just likes his side warm when getting in bed then turns his off for the rest of the night. Both my siblings/spouses got them for Christmas at the same time we did and they all still love theirs too!

Haier HVTM06ABS 6-Bottle Wine Cellar with Electronic Controls
Customer Ratings: 4.5 stars

Even though there was only one review on this wine cellar when I bought it, I decided to go ahead and take the chance on this gift for my husband. The other reviewer said that it is really noisy and I would have to disagree somewhat. If you're looking for a refrigerator that is perfectly silent, this is not; however, it is not disturbingly loud. It has a fan that kicks in to keep it cool & it's the equivalent of the hum of a desktop computer. It doesn't bother me since it's in the kitchen with other noisy refrigerators, dish washers, etc. This unit is a great size -holds just the right amount of bottles that you'd want to chill, it is a very sleek design (although the one we received was not all silver like the one in the picture, it has a stainless door but black on the sides/back) and compliments our other appliances. It easily holds 8 bottles and the door closes easily even with wine stoppers in the bottles. I would definitely recommend getting this one with the digital controls it's worth having the ease of temp control with the push of a button & always being able to tell how cold it is. It holds temperature beautifully and we've had no problems with it so far. Cheers!

I purchased this as a christmas present for my husband. I agree with many of the posts, it is a little noisy, but not anymore than any refrigerator. It did a great job, made two buck chuck even taste good! But after two months, it stopped cooling, other wise I woud have given it a higher rating, BUT even though it was a pain to have it die, Haier was wonderful to work with. I called them and they did some trouble shooting with me and agreed, the unit was dead. They emailed me a form to put our serial tag on and fa it in. We are waiting now for our new unit. So I have to give it an extra star for good customer service.

04-28-2013 I have lowered this to a 1 star and I am still getting run around from the company about return. I doubt I will ever see my unit or money.

Do not buy from this company!!

05-04-2013 I wrote an email via Amazon's contact page. Amazon was amazing. They sent me a new fridge OVERNIGHT and a return label to return the old unit. Amazon solved the issue for me in 2 days. If you look at BBB, you will Haier has an F rating and huge amounts of the same complaint I had, never resolved. Thank you Amazon for caring about your customers!!

Right out of the box, it plugs right into the outlet and begins cooling. One of the reviews said that it was way too loud, but mine hardly makes any sound at all. In fact, you forget it's there, it's so quiet. Perhaps that person's cellar was faulty, who knows all I know is, this is a great little cellar and keeps the perfect temperature.

Pro: compact, nice look, and the wine is at the correct temperature, ( 55 F) Con: This cooler is way too loud.

If I knew that the interior fan made that much noise I will no purchase it.

I was a little apprehensive about purchasing this item based on reviews for other, larger wine cellars by this manufacturer, but I'm very happy that I went with this one. I think the larger cellars might have too much volume for the cooler to keep up, so they don't work as well, but this one seems to keep an even temperature throughout. It looks very nice, with a blue LED on the inside that you can leave on or turn off. The digital controls are easy to use and make it trivial to keep your cellar at whatever temperature you prefer. When you open the door you can see the temperature go up a few degrees, but it only takes a few minutes to go back down to the setpoint. The racks are shaped only for a standard bottle size, but you can put unusually shaped bottles, like champagne bottles, on the bottom and they fit just fine. Also, there's enough clearance that you can still close the door with bottles that have been opened and re-corked inside. Other reviewers complained about the cellar being loud, but I can't even hear it over the sound of my air conditioner. I'm also really happy with the size because it can sit on my kitchen counter without being a nuisance.

The product itself is excellent. It works, well!, except for the freezer, which is fairly standard. It's got plenty of room, not much wasted space and was shipped relatively quickly.

However, the packaging was less than impressive. It's got a dent in the door and seems to of been knocked around quite a bit in the shipping process, something that adequate packaging would of prevented, I'm sure.

But I plugged it in, and it works just great and has continued to since the day I plugged it in.

I purchased this digital thermostat to replace a Honeywell that failed after only 8 months. (I'd never buy another Honeywell after my experience with their poor customer service.)

This LuxPro thermostat was easy to install and had no moving parts that can fail. It comes with the required two AA batteries and easy to follow instructions. I like the fact that it has an ON/OFF switch to ensure it can't come on unless you want it to. Plus, a programmable high limit temperature can be programmed so it acts as a fail safe so it won't heat beyond that set point. (The Honeywell failed and my garage heater could have caused a fire being it kept the heater running even though the garage was well over 100F!)

I highly recommend this for your garage heater installation.

Replaced my RV Suburban mechanical unit with this heat thermostat. Works great, like the digital temp readout. No more mystery as to the inside temp.

Honest reviews on LuxPro PSD010B Digital 2 Wire Heat Only Thermostat

We were looking for a replacement thermostat for our pop-up camper, and it was difficult to find a simple, digital model. We needed only heat, no a/c or fan-only settings; this filled the bill. We installed it with a long cord, and a plug, so it can be placed in a handier spot than the original which was under the table and close to the floor, difficult to see and use.

This worked just great on our recent trip, the first time we have been able to actually use it. The numbers are clear and it is easy to set the desired temperature. It seemed to run quite true to the temperatures we set. It was handy to be able to set it pretty low (52-56 for this trip), not all thermostats have a low range needed for camper use.

This device connects to your Aube thermostat via a two wire interface. It worked exactly as described, but I couldn't figure out how to use this with other equipment other than my thermostat. I also had to disable my answering machine but I'm not sure if I could get both to work at the same time. I probably should have read the owner's manual a little further. All things said, this worked exactly as described and was easy to use.

I bought this to use indoor for an old cat that lives in my cold finished basement. I ordered a cover for it because I didn't realize it came with one, but that works out good because when I need to wash the cover (which is often because kitty gets sick a lot) I can put a clean one on right away. I bought the 14 x 18 which is the perfect size for the kitty. The box says it uses 20 watts of electricity and I believe the advertisement of the product says 14 watts. Either way it is less expensive than keeping the electric radiator plugged in to heat the entire room. Kitty loved it immediately and cuddled up on it as soon as I put it on the floor and plugged it in. It doesn't feel super warm to touch, but I can feel the warmth on the kitty when he has been on it. It works for what I needed it for.

After a few hours reviewing diffrent blowers that would work with my fireplace I settled on this one. I will say its extermaly easy to install yourself as long as you have a power outlet under your fireplace. I removed the gril, moved the other wires to the side and slid this into place on the back wall. It has some powerfull magnets that hold it in place and a foam cushion stip to void any vibration sounds. It has a thermal swtich that magnetically attaches to the bottom of the fireplace that activates at 120 and turns off at 90. I set the speed control just a little under the max and its perfect.

This was a mandatory purchase for my gas fireplace.. As the other reviewer states the heat was just going straight into the mantel and made it to hot to touch.

Click Here For Most Helpful Customer Reviews >>

When I installed my gas fireplace insert, I did not think that a blower was necessary. Before long I realized that when the fireplace was on, the wooden mantle became so hot that the wood could not be touched. The heat from the fireplace was making the wood too hot. I could only use the fireplace for ten or fifteen minutes before the wood got too hot, and I had to shut the fireplace down. After I installed the blower kit, the blower fan would automatically come on after the fireplace was running for two or three minutes, and the hot air was blown out into the room. I can now run my fireplace as long as I want to. It was really nice when we had people over for Christmas and we could leave the fireplace on. I recommend that everybody with a gas fireplace gets a blower kit to circulate the hot air. Definitely safer, and more even heat in the room. Easy to install also.

Best Nesco American Harvest FD-50 Snackmaster Pro 4-Tray Dehydrator Deals

Nesco American Harvest FD-50 Snackmaster Pro 4-Tray Dehydrator
Customer Ratings: 4.5 stars

2001: I had no experience with dehydrating before I got this machine. It comes with a good instruction guide on how to prep the veggies and fruits. The drying times are very accurate as listed in the book. The speed for drying apples is 5-6 hours, maybe less if you leave some space between them, I've found. It also comes with the trays to make fruit leather. Easy to clean with a warm wet cloth. A great little workhorse, all around. Very pleased!

Post script 2005: it died when washed out in a 2004 flood of our basement! How ironic!

Click Here For Most Helpful Customer Reviews >>

I love my dehydrator. The thing is easy to use, with a controllable thermostat labeled for whatever you're drying (high temp for meat, low for herbs). The manual that comes with it is easy to understand, and has terrific recipes in it. I highly recommend getting the two extra trays, a fruit leather sheet, and plenty of the "clean-a-screen" inserts. (And if you're feeling really adventurous, the jerky making kit is *awesome*!)

Once you've made banana "chips" in your dehydrator, you'll never buy those nasty fried store-bought ones again! Pineapple is delicious dried, and dried apples are simply marvelous. You can dry almost anything, and know exactly what's in it. Why pay good money for chemicals and so-so taste, when you can make your own really healthy snacks for you and the kids in this very handy appliance?

It just isn't any simpler than this!

Best Deals on Nesco American Harvest FD-50 Snackmaster Pro 4-Tray Dehydrator

I had purchased this dehydrator at a retail store for more than it is offered here, but it is worth it. I sit in an office chair all day and tend to get a case of the "munchies" during the day. I used to buy candy bar after candy bar, which in turn put a few pounds on me as well. With the dehydrator I can make healthy foods to snack on that are good tasting and economical. I would suggest to anyone looking to save a few dollars and a few inches on the waistline to invest in one. You won't regret it

Honest reviews on Nesco American Harvest FD-50 Snackmaster Pro 4-Tray Dehydrator

It takes me twenty minutes to core, peel, slice, and treat 5-6 apples, lay them out on the trays, and get them started. After some experimentation, I have settled on using four parts water to one part lemon juice and a little cinnamon for the treatment, and the same liquid can be refrigerated and used on subsequent batches. (For other fruits, use common sense; e.g., for pears, I use ground cloves instead of cinnamon.)

I initially tried using a slicer/corer and then sliced the slices lengthwise in thirds or so. However, this gave them all an uneven thickness, which was not ideal. I then tried the way recommended in the book: core and slice in rings. This was better, but ultimately I developed a hybrid approach: cut the apple in half through the stem and core; core each half with a knife, peel, and then slice the other direction into half-rings. It's easier to get a uniform thickness this way than with the full rings, and more apples fit on the trays at once due to less wasted space. (I majored in math, so I know how to fit the max number of slices on at once without overlapping. YMMV.)

As far as apples: use apples that have good flavour. It does matter which variety of apples you use. Granny Smith have good flavour, but are not terribly sweet. Fuji are very good. Macintosh are excellent. Sarah will just about go through fire for dried Yellow Delicious. Gala are pretty good. Jonathan are excellent, and Jonagold are good. I want to do Grimes Golden, but I couldn't find any this year; maybe next year.

There's just one problem: at the thickness I've been slicing them, it takes about six hours for a batch of apples to dry. This produces one Ziploc freezer bag full of dried apples, which my family proceeds to eat in about an hour. They then look at me with greedy eyes: "When are you going to dry more apples, Nathan?" Well, let's see... if I put some more in right away, I'd have to stay up till about 3am to get them out. I have a feeling my family would be okay with that: they could then have dried apples for breakfast.

Since I wrote the above paragraph, I now have a four more trays (total of eight), which helps a lot. The book says that I can use up to twelve trays with this model. The four trays it comes with are enough for experimenting, but not enough for the sort of mass production my family wants me to undertake. (I keep pondering when the novelty will wear off. I'm not holding my breath: dried apples are _good_.)

My first batch of bananas was a little disappointing: I expected to get the crunchy hard banana chips like you buy for two limbs at bulk food stores. For whatever reason, the ones I did did not turn out that way. I left them in for way longer than the book said bananas would take, and they were still chewy. I first tried fully ripe bananas, then tried some mildly underripe ones next time thinking that might be the difference; it was not. Also, the book didn't say anything about needing to treat bananas, so I didn't the first time, and they turned brown. I should have anticipated that (they're *bananas*, after all, of *course* they would turn brown). I treated the next batch with pineapple juice, and they didn't turn brown.

The book says use ripe fruit. It's not kidding. Results with under-ripe fruit are disappointing at best. Results with ripe fruit are always good.

We tried jerky, and it works if you're into that sort of thing. (Personally, I'm not a big jerky fan.) I want to try carrots and other vegitables.

The book says watermelon comes out like candy, so I tried it. As would be expected, it takes a lot longer to dry than apples, but the results are good. They're not like what you'd expect, but they're good. Dried watermelon does not taste nearly as much like fresh watermelon as most people expect, but once you get over the difference, it does have a good flavour. It reminds my mom of pumpkin, but you can taste the watermelon in it if you're paying attention. It's an acquired taste, but after a couple of pieces you don't want to stop eating it.

Dried peaches and pears are fantastic. I still want to know how to make crunchy dried banana chips, though.

This is fun, and tasty.

*** Addendum: I have now had a chance to compare this model and the (cheaper) Ronco FD5 in action side-by-side, and the Snackmaster FD-50 is easily worth the extra ten bucks. For reasons why, see my review of the FD5.

Five stars. Five words: Buy one of these things.

I bought this dehydrator on the recommendations of all the reviewers and I have been totally pleased with it. I have tried tomotoes, mangos, bananas and jerky. The only drawback to this is the fact that drying food is more an art than a science. I have done 3 batches of jerky, and each time it gets better, but still too dry. I am narrowing the drying times down to within a few hours, but still not quite perfect. Other than the On-the-job-training in drying times, this works quite well. I am please with it and would recommend it to anyone. The plus is that I have even found accesories for it at Wal-Mart!

Sunheat makes the highest quality heaters on the market. The 750 watt is smaller and has no wheels. I love that the on/off switch as located at the front near the top of the unit. High quality, made in the USA wood case. More expensive then most heaters, but worth it long term.
