Yes, I would agree with another reviewer with not washing it I can't see how that would even be possible. The connection from the wall plug to the blanket is at the center of the bed, down by your feet. As another reviewer said if you're over 5'5" you will probably touch it. When we had a queen size bed (more than a year ago), I'd occasionally touch it. but just moved my foot over a few inches no biggie. Now we have a king size and I almost never touch it. When I do I know I've traveled over quite a bit.

To cut down on feeling the wires, we put the heated mattress pad on first, covered by a regular mattress pad, then our sheets. The stiffness of the wires went away pretty quick, and the wires are no longer noticeable. When spring came earlier this year I started to take the heated pad off our bed, then thought about where I'd have to store it, just decided to leave it on all summer, since we couldn't feel it anyway. Now it's ready for the occasional chilly nights we're getting. I need to buy some for the kids beds so I can turn the heat down at night this winter.

Overall, we LOVE it.

I also turn it up pretty high when I'm getting ready for bed, but once in bed for the night I usually have it on low or #2 for the night it's really efficient.

And another thought when using this I wake up feeling relaxed and limber not cold and achy like I used to. So nice!!

The instructions on the mattress pad states that it can be washed. However, when we washed it, it no longer worked!!!!! I do not recommend.

If this heated mattress pad lasts, it has 5 year warentee, It's well worth the money. Why would you wash it? its covered by sheets. Well maybe you could have an accident. ugh! Need to add this was an early Christmas present from my lovely wife. I'm always cold (surgery, old age) shes younger than I and warm a lot. So her side of the heated pad will stay off while mine is on warm. I'm lucky to have such a thoughtful wife

October 2013-put this piece of junk on my bed & alas only one side works this year... Obviously a throw away item.. Don't waste your money & amazon doesn't want to hear about it!!!

I had to wait from late spring until now for this mattress pad to be available again, & I'm thankful it is. Love warmth on my body when I get into bed & read for awhile before sleeping. And I appreciate the warmth during the night, especially since my very large dogs often steal my comforter (don't use top sheets). & overly stressed

The pre-heat is a bonus that I use daily. In fact, I enjoy this steady flow of adjustable heat even in summertime, & in just the right places. Having arthritis in my neck/shoulders & perhaps lower back, plus sciatica in my one leg, means that these areas of my body that are bad & daily over-streesed generally turn into & touch the mattress. Indescribably better than the old-fashioned electric blankets I had grown up with.

The waterproofing was a must for me. Often my dogs will jog my hand, splattering the hot herbal tea all over the bedding. Then, too, one of my dogs sometimes pees on the mattress, to show defiance of something I'm doing or have done wrong, in her or his opinion. Somehow, neutering them all didn't dismiss the males' testosterone (or other hormone) levels. Thus the waterproofing is yet another layer of protection against the pee or tea to ruin my mattress itself.

BTW, it's sizing seems true, 'cause it definitely fits my king size bed w/ its roughly 12" depth/sides.

Maybe odd, but I can't think of anything about it that makes me unhappy. Haven't washed it yet, but when I do I'll be back w/ info regarding that. So, all in all a great buy at a decent price!

For the price, you'd think it would work properly. The device I have has a problem in the Cool-OFF-heat switch. I have a terrible time tweaking the switch between "off" and "heat"; for some reason the fan starts working continuously and no heat is coming out. I need to nudge the switch just a tiny bit between off an heat to get the heat to finally come out.

The beauty of this thermostat is that you can set the temperature differential from 1-3 degrees. Most thermostats kick on when the room temp changes one degree the one we had did this, and my a/c was running every 5 minutes. I could not find any t-stats that had a variable temp differential at Home Depot or Sears, so I ordered this one. I could not be more happy. It is absolutely perfect, and now my a/c kicks on only 2wice per hour!

Even though there was only one review on this wine cellar when I bought it, I decided to go ahead and take the chance on this gift for my husband. The other reviewer said that it is really noisy and I would have to disagree somewhat. If you're looking for a refrigerator that is perfectly silent, this is not; however, it is not disturbingly loud. It has a fan that kicks in to keep it cool & it's the equivalent of the hum of a desktop computer. It doesn't bother me since it's in the kitchen with other noisy refrigerators, dish washers, etc. This unit is a great size -holds just the right amount of bottles that you'd want to chill, it is a very sleek design (although the one we received was not all silver like the one in the picture, it has a stainless door but black on the sides/back) and compliments our other appliances. It easily holds 8 bottles and the door closes easily even with wine stoppers in the bottles. I would definitely recommend getting this one with the digital controls it's worth having the ease of temp control with the push of a button & always being able to tell how cold it is. It holds temperature beautifully and we've had no problems with it so far. Cheers!

I purchased this as a christmas present for my husband. I agree with many of the posts, it is a little noisy, but not anymore than any refrigerator. It did a great job, made two buck chuck even taste good! But after two months, it stopped cooling, other wise I woud have given it a higher rating, BUT even though it was a pain to have it die, Haier was wonderful to work with. I called them and they did some trouble shooting with me and agreed, the unit was dead. They emailed me a form to put our serial tag on and fa it in. We are waiting now for our new unit. So I have to give it an extra star for good customer service.

04-28-2013 I have lowered this to a 1 star and I am still getting run around from the company about return. I doubt I will ever see my unit or money.

05-04-2013 I wrote an email via Amazon's contact page. Amazon was amazing. They sent me a new fridge OVERNIGHT and a return label to return the old unit. Amazon solved the issue for me in 2 days. If you look at BBB, you will Haier has an F rating and huge amounts of the same complaint I had, never resolved. Thank you Amazon for caring about your customers!!

I was a little apprehensive about purchasing this item based on reviews for other, larger wine cellars by this manufacturer, but I'm very happy that I went with this one. I think the larger cellars might have too much volume for the cooler to keep up, so they don't work as well, but this one seems to keep an even temperature throughout. It looks very nice, with a blue LED on the inside that you can leave on or turn off. The digital controls are easy to use and make it trivial to keep your cellar at whatever temperature you prefer. When you open the door you can see the temperature go up a few degrees, but it only takes a few minutes to go back down to the setpoint. The racks are shaped only for a standard bottle size, but you can put unusually shaped bottles, like champagne bottles, on the bottom and they fit just fine. Also, there's enough clearance that you can still close the door with bottles that have been opened and re-corked inside. Other reviewers complained about the cellar being loud, but I can't even hear it over the sound of my air conditioner. I'm also really happy with the size because it can sit on my kitchen counter without being a nuisance.

I have had electric blankets since I was a little kid (going on 40 years of Electric blanket use). They use to last 5-10 years. I remember having ones that I'd have year after year! In the last 10 years or so the time they last has gotten less and less. I've always bought Sunbeam blankets, and now, I am in search of a new brand! In the last 5 years I have bought a new blanket EVERY year! It wasn't so bad when I could find them on the clearance rack for $12. But, this last 2 years, that hasn't been the case. The cheapest one I can find is around $44. A blanket needs to last longer than ONE year for that amount of money! Not to mention the landfill waste all these blankets are adding to the environment!!!

This blanket didn't even make it a day! It wouldn't work at all. I tried everything I could think of. The only thing that seemed to work was covering the whole bed with a down blanket to "assist" the Sunbeam blanket in heating up! Only without the assistance, it simply did not warm all over... Near the plug it warm up, and that is about it.

EDIT: I wanted to add that I returned this in all the original packaging to Amazon 3 days after purchase since trying to get it to work wasn't happening. I got my refund! I think if everyone started to return these blankets if they conk out in the first month a message might get through to the Sunbeam Company. I'm off to purchase a Sealy Diamond Electric Blanket to try!

This is my first electric blanket that I have ever purchased. The unit heats up pretty fast. The feet and head areas seem to stay the warmest which I find very beneficial, others may not like this. The unit seems to cycle between on and off but this I assume is standard for electric heating elements. The only aspect of this unit that I do not like was that the material seems to fall apart. I sat on this blanket with a hoodie on and it looked like I had large bunches of lint all over me. For this reason I would suggest going with a more expensive blanket that has either microsuede or something along those lines. I have placed this under a blanket so that I do not get clumps of lint on me. Once I put sheets over the blanket I found this to be a very nice blanket.

This blanket started to pill immediately. Within two nights, it looked ragged, as though it had been used for years, and I am forever picking up the resulting lint. As well, while the warming coils do a half-decent job, they are bulky and the heat does not seem to distribute evenly. I contacted the manufacturer, and though my message was acknowledged as received, I never got a response. I guess you get what you pay for, as the price was relatively low.

On the flip side, it does enable me to to lower my thermostat at night, decreasing my heating bills. One other positive is that the control is easy to use, silent, and offers 10 heat settings that are easy to change.

My old drier used to run too hot it created a ton of lint, which tells me it was wearing out the clothes prematurely. I checked my thermostat heater and it was working fine. FYI ... the thermostat heater heats up the thermostat, casuses it to trip off the power to the heater and thereby regulates the heat by cycling the heater off. If you set your drier on low heat, then what actually happens is the thermostat heater starts baking the thermostat. I could pop for so many hundreds of dollars for a new drier, but after reading the reviews, who knows what new headaches I will be buying? This adjustible thermostat lets me fine tune the drying heat so I have enough heat to dry, but not so much heat that the clothes get cooked. The lower heat reduces lint, and I suspect reduces electricity usage, as well! Highly recommended.

Just installed in a 28 x 24 garage with an 8' ceiling (the ceiling is not completely insulated yet). It's a cold windy day (0 degrees wind chill), and this heater is keeping the garage warm enough to work in a flannel shirt. Without the ceiling being finished, much of the heat is obviously escaping right out the roof vents. I do believe that once the ceiling is completed, it will do a fine job in this garage.

Shipped quickly from Amazon with no damage; instructions easy to follow; installation was simple. Called Mr. Heater's Customer Service line with a simple question, and after punching a few buttons to get to the correct department, I actually spoke to a real person who also spoke English. Thermostat wiring could have been a bit longer.

Two points to consider when installing:

One, although overall very light, the heater is quite a bit heavier on one end due to the control valve, making it necessary to put a slight bend in the hanger to make it hang level. The factory could have positioned the mounting point slightly to the left to counter balance the heater, but this is minor and easily corrected.

And two, be patient about letting air bleed from the gas line and getting gas through the control valve when you first light the pilot. My supply line is less than 40' from the tank to the heater, but it took several minutes of holding the gas valve in at the 'Pilot' position to get gas to flow.

I'd recommend one of these to anyone with similar heating needs.

I am a somewhat haphazard gardener but with my Jewel cold frame and the automatic opener, my shortcomings do not matter. Whenever the temperature gets high enough to cook my seedlings on a bright sunny day,up pops the opener. This is the second one I have had, the other on an improvised sunboxa simple wood frame and old window, and that works perfectly too. I would not consider a cold frame without an automatic opener!

We just had our first day with this item... the family loved it! We had a big lunch (the traditional potatoes with cheeses & lunchmeats) then later, used it to make melty desserts like crepes, s'mores & mini tarte flambes (pre-cut toasted tortilla squares with sliced bananas & dark chocolate).

The recipe possibilities are endless. Mini-pizzas, sliders, baked pasta, etc., + the temp control is a good feature.

The product is light and pretty portable. Easy to clean and stow. Best feature I noticed right away; my family was having fun together! We're gonna keep this to ourselves awhile before we share with guests. I highly recommend!!!

We were introduced to raclette by our good friends who threw a great raclette dinner party. She was using this particular one and it was so easy to use and fun that we had to get one ourselves. All of the cooking surfaces are non-stick and easy to clean, and we love the fact that you can adjust the heat on the grill--we usually keep it high early on and then turn it down later.

I was worried that we would use it a couple of times and then it would get put in the closet like so many other kitchen appliances, but we actually use it often. It's great not just for entertaining, but also if we want to make a quick meal at home more special.

I own 4 of these thermostats and have had them for more than 5 years. They are installed at 2 separate residences.

This thermostat requires 2 full charge AAA batteries to function properly. There is a "Low Battery" notification in the unit's LCD display, however, the electronics are not correctly designed to indicate "Low Battery" soon enough. This means that the thermostat will operate incorrectly for perhaps 6 months or more with batteries which have a lower voltage than required for correct function. This incorrect function will occur way before the "Low Battery" signal is ever displayed, causing heating or air conditioning to cycle too often at incorrect temperatures, regardless of what the temperature is set at.

So, if you purchased this otherwise excellent thermostat, and are having temperature regulation issues, and unneccessary heat/air conditoning cycles, install 2 new AAA batteries, and the problems will be resolved. In my case, batteries last a little over a year before needing replacement. Replacing batteries has always solved the problem, but I have never once seen the "Low Battery" on the LCD display work soon enough.

If it weren't for this issue, I would rate this product "5 Star". But they just didn't do their engineering job correctly. Otherwise, it is a great value and a great thermostat. I do like the simplicity and the large display.

I bought this thermostat because I have purchased other items from this company and have been very satisfied with the quality. I am not only a busy mother, but not very good with programming electronics. This thermostat was easy to install and, so far, very easy to operate. The numbers are large and easy to read, so I don't have to run for my reading glasses every time I want to look at the temp. What I thought would be an intimidating project was a pleasant experience. We rent an old 3-story Victorian home with 8 bedrooms, 4 baths, and 3 kitchens. There's a lot to heat in the winter. Even with new furnace and heat pumps etc. it was costing us $800-$1100/month to heat during December-February. After trying several space heaters, we opted for one of these, and it really is a hit. I keep one in my office, one in my bedroom, and one in the living room. At night the one from the living room is moved upstairs to heat the kids' bedrooms. Because the radiator is quiet, I can take calls in my office without a problem. Because it isn't blowing out forced air, there's none of the sinus issues normally seen in winter when the heat is on. We just love them. This is our second year using this model. I'm going to pick up a few more and use them upstairs as well. My electric consumption for that first year dropped more than 50% and we stayed warmer. This year, we haven't used the central heat at all so far, and my electricity consumption has dropped almost 70% what it had been when I was trying to use the central heat and forced air space heaters. I was hoping they'd be cheaper this year, but even at this price, they're worth it. It's such a nice, even, pleasant heat. You don't have to be right near it. It won't burn your skin if you bump it, and you can turn it off or down at night if you get too warm.

This is a slightly edited version of a review I wrote about the Delonghi Vento:

I now own three different models of oil filled radiators. The Delonghi Safe Heat Oil-Filled Radiator with Overheat Audible Alarm is great, but not as quick to heat as the Delonghi Vento. The heat from the Vento radiates very quickly out the top of the unit. The Safe Heat heater puts a little more heat on the floor, so I am actually glad that I have a couple different models. We use the Safe Heat version in the bedroom because it is very quiet, and heats the floor a little quicker than the Vento. The Safe Heat also has an audible alarm if it overheats, and automatic tip-over shutoff. Those will be nice safety features while we sleep.

Back to the Vento: The timer feature is great; it allows you to automatically turn the heater on and off as many times as you want, up to every 15 minutes, for a full 24 hours! In the winter I plan to have it turn on early in the morning and heat up the living room while we're still sleeping. The analog timer is MUCH better than a digital timer in my opinion. A digital timer has limitations on how many times you can turn it on and off (usually only once or twice). For now, I just leave all the switches "on" and turn it on and off manually.

I have an older Lakewood digital thermostat radiator also; that one we cannot use in the bedroom because the digital relay system to turn it on and off is very noisy, and keeps us awake. Out of the three, it is also the slowest to heat up but it has lasted me 10 years so far so I can't complain. I feel that all analog controls and relays are much quieter than the digital versions. The digital thermostat is nice in the kitchen to set a minimum, but too noisy in the bedroom. .

The Vento is in the living room, puts out the (by far) quickest and most heat, and fills the room-again, less on the floor but it heats the room quicker. The edges are curved so there is less potential for injury, and it really puts out most of the heat up and into the air--the unit doesn't seem to get quite as hot to the touch. The Vento took about twice as long as the Safe Heat to "burn in", but I just put it on full blast outside for about 4 hours and it was good to go. There is much more metal in this unit to "burn in" so it makes sense...

I highly recommend the Safe Heat heater, and even more than the Vento if you want heat on the floor as well!!! It warms up very quickly and is very reasonably priced, and has great safety features. It is our choice for the bedroom.

got this, based on reviews... to heat up my living room...

but i only feel the heat when standing 7" away from it and/or hunching over the top of it.

AND it has to be 3ft away from anything/everything so you can't put it to the side of the room, or out of the way...

really disappointing heater ornament.

Update: okay, so it didn't work in my living room with high ceilings, so I put it in my bedroom to see if it would be better and it did! It was really hot and toasty. So I think depending on the room.... It will work great or, not. So glad I won't have to return it.

This heater must be kept around 2 meters from any walls, furniture, book shelves, etc. That's tough to do in a small apartment. In my case there was no place to put it that wasn't within 2 meters of something. Desperate for heat in a slumlord-owned building with a draft and a poor radiator I tried to use it anyway. No go. As soon as the unit would start to heat up it would shut off because it was too close to the closet. A safety mechanism that is a good feature to be sure -just look at all the poor people who burn themselves up trying to heat their homes each winter after their utilities are shut off. Still, I couldn't use it in my place. I wish I would have seen some mention of that on Amazon.

I never owned an indoor grill made by Ronco or George F so I won't be comparing the Waring to anything else. This review is based upon an inspection of the parts and the cooking of several foods.

Waring makes professional products so they know what quality is. Don't let the word "Pro" fool you into thinking this is a restaurant-quality commercial product -It isn't but the quality is very good. My initial observations:

* The grill is heavy-duty enough for home kitchen use. The body is metal, the controls have a quality feel, the heating elements are thick and the grilling surfaces seem pretty good.

* It takes a while to heat-up but once it does it cooks at a consistent rate.

* The free-floating top grill doesn't really float so you have to free-it-up manually. Keep in mind that the grill plates are really hot and extend outside of the body so a pot holder is in order.

* There are two sets of grill plates: one set with ridges and one set that is flat. The upper and lower plates are not interchangeable. The non-stick coating isn't the hardest I've even seen. There is a cheap platic tool included that you can use to clean the ridged grill plates but it didn't do a satisfactory job even on a brand new grill.

Cooking results were good in both the closed and open positions. The upper grill is not quite level when the grill is laid flat so the drippings may or may not flow in the right direction. I mades some burgers, turkey burgers, fried eggs and bacon all with good results. The cooking surfaces cooked thoroughly, evenly and quickly.

Overall, I'm satisfied and feel that I got a good grill for what it costs. I know I'm dreaming but I would preferred to have cast-iron grill plates over the nonstick aluminum. I would also prefer it if the grill plates were reversable as opossed to interchangeable. As long as it's not made by Cuisinart, I'm happy.

This is the first counter-top indoor grill I have owned. My husband purchased a Geo. Foreman for Christmas but this one seemed to have better ratings and was priced $20 cheaper with Free Shipping so we decided to try. I don't have much to compare to since it's the first one I've owned. Seems fairly easy to use. Grids are easy to take out to clean. One drawback is that since the top lid rests on top of the meat if you are cooking meat that is more than 1/4" thick the grease splatters out around the edges and leaves a mess all over the countertop. The little plastic cups that are provided to catch the grease are cheesy. I don't see myself using this on a regular basis. Using as a griddle it's OK but a little small even for 2 people.

I paid $79.99 in 12/09 and have been very pleased so far. The grill heats quickly and when ready provides even heat distribution. The food cooks and looks great. I especially like the burgers that are crusty on the outside and juicy inside. I scrape the plates, while still warm, with the plastic scraper that comes with the grill and when cool put them in the dishwasher and they clean up well. The plates are very easy to take off and put on.

Ordered it and it arrived early. Makes great sandwiches and grills meat perfectly and quickly. My only dislike of the product is that it takes elbow grease to clean it. I was hoping that the "non stick" surface was truly non stick, but it's not. Overall, a good product.

I researched for a long time before purchasing this Lasko heater last winter. I bought one and ran a test for a month to see if A)the heater would heat up a rather large living room, and B)whether my electric bill would go down. So, with my heat pump thermostat set on 65, we used this unit in our living area all last winter. Our electric bill was drastically lower! In fact, I liked the heater so much that I bought my daughter one, just to help her save money too.

Best points on the heater are the remote control, the oscillation, and the pedestal which better evenly distributes the heat. We bought 2 more smaller Lasko heaters from Amazon to basically heat up every room where we need heat this winter...and I guarantee that our electric bill will still be lower than merely using the heat pump alone. I had no idea that the heat pump ate up so much power.

I did a lot of research and shopping around for a space heater and was not disappointed with this. It's provided excellent heat for a large room.

The digital remote is great so you can see the temp without having to walk across the room. The timer feature can be used in automatic mode as well so I set the temperature and have it shut off after a couple hours.

I have 6 of these in my office for almost 12 years. I bought this one as a replacement because I though one was failing. Turned out there was a different problem, and the replacement is still in it's box.

This unit does NOT have a battery back-up, so if the power goes out, you have to reset the time. The other settings are saved. Have no idea why it saves some settings but not others. Changing the time is a snap to fix, however.

The cost / benefit ratio on this unit is great. A great product.
