Heats very well -but -the control does not allow for a setting below 70 F, whereas the instructions say that it should.

I bought this for my basement room. It warms up, but does not really warm up the room that well. I use it in my laundry area to help dry the clothes I hang in there in the winter. The icy chill is gone, but it doesn't feel "warm" in the room.

I wrote this review before but it wasn't published probably because of the low rating. It was ordered though Warehouse Deals and advertised as like new. It wasn't. It was smashed, cracked, and broken. It should have been thrown in the trash, not put back on the shelf. If this isn't posted, I will not rate or write another review on this website.

Bought a new media cabinet and there was no airflow. I put one CG Cabcool 1202 Deluxe on both sides. The product does what it says: set a temperature and watch it kick on and off keeping your equipment nice and cool. The nice thing is that they are both very quiet.

I installed these fans about 18 months ago. I installed them into a custom desk that we had built into our motor home. There was no air flow in the desk and our laptop kept overheating. The laptop in on 24/7 (work unit)so it was important for it to function correctly.

This system included a digital readout and a remote temperature probe. The lead on the probe was not long enough so I splice on the same size wires to the length I needed. I placed the probe under the laptop, and set the unit to come on at 96deg.F and turn off at 86deg.F . It has preformed flawlessly over the last 18 months. It keeps the computer cool and we have had no more computer problems associated with overheating.

CoolerGuys are great to work with also. Prompt to answer an email or a phone call. Highly recommend.

I installed this cooling system in my entertainment system cabinet about nine months ago, and it has worked flawlessly since installation. The cooling fans are pretty easy to install, and the instructions for setting up the cooling system on/off parameters are easy to understand. I wouldn't say the cooling fans are completely inaudible, but they're pretty quiet and barely noticeable, especially if they're mounted toward the rear of your entertainment system.

I installed this fan unit inside an enclosed cabinet where I wanted to install my cable boxes, BlueRay player, receiver and video switches. It vents between two studs in the adjacent wall and keeps the equipment cool. The fans are very quiet, and the thermostat runs them only when needed.

Highly recommended!

I am disappointed in this item. This thing was not cheap so I expected more,

It is very well made but I cannot highly recommend.

Unless you always listen to movies or music at very loud levels,

you will find yourself unplugging the thing as I have.

I know I can replace the fans with quieter ones that run at a slower speed, but for what this cost,

you would think the mfg would have selected better/more appropriate fans.

I got this induction unit about a month ago as education while we ponder a kitchen remodel. I currently have a gas cooktop, with all its pros and cons, but in view of all the positive reviews for induction I had to give it a try. Bottom line up front: It's a keeper, but mostly because I don't think there is an induction burner that's better, not because I'm particularly impressed. I do like the way the heat goes only into the pan and that cleaning the surface is much simpler than getting down under the grate of a gas stove.

I first got the Duxtop equivalent to Mr. Induction, but returned it because I couldn't find a decent simmer with its 10 heating levels. This model has 20 levels, which is much better but still not the continuous control that I'd like. In the "cook" mode, level 1, the lowest, is just above a simmer. In the "temp" mode simmer is easier to find (more about that below), but I'm still not fully happy with the control of induction vs. gas. It would be nice if there were a few levels below the heat level of "1" on this burner. On the other hand, browning onions on the 12-15 range of "cook" is excellent, and 5-7 is a good fit to medium heat called for in recipes.

In the "Temp" mode, 180 F is close to a simmer, 200 F is bubbling well above a simmer, and 170 F shows no bubble at all, much less than a simmer. So, again, I'd like more control around the boiling point in both modes. Perhaps asking that boiling is close to 212 F is being too particular. I'd be happy with the offset if there were finer control around boiling.

Two other points I find to be less than ideal: The heating element is about 3/4-inch off center toward the control panel. This is just annoying to the perfectionist who may prefer the pan centered on the rings on the top surface (see photo), but one wonders how it could happen. Finally, the burner is sitting on a very level counter, but without correction fluids (oil, butter, scrambled eggs) flow toward the back of the pan. Adding a couple of 1/8" thick felt pads to the back legs levels the unit and has the added advantage that it can be easily slid back out of the way when not in use or brought close to the counter edge for cooking by simply picking up the front legs and sliding on the felt pads at the back. The standard rubber feet do not slide on the counter, by design.

Yes, there are many low-temperature setting, perhaps good for melting chocolate, etc. In the "temp" mode there are several settings below boiling, the lowest of which is "90 F." However, the temperature control does not seem to be proportional; the unit appears to be either on or off. I have not accurately measured the temperature overshoot and undershoot while this cycling occurs, but I'll bet it's substantial.

A final note: because the heating appears to happen in a circle of 4.5" diameter, it helps to have pots with thick conductive bases to spread the heat over more of the pan bottom. Cuisinart GreenGourmet Tri-Ply and Zwilling J.A. Henckels Thermolon Spirit cookware do a pretty good job. I'll review these as I get more experience with them and their competitors.

On balance, I'm intrigued by induction, but I hope it can be better than demonstrated by this burner. From what I can glean from induction cooktop ads, most of them do have a limited number of power settings, which limits control. I don't know if any have proportional temperature control. Please reply if you know of any. My remodel will likely have both gas and induction modules if I can find an induction module with continuous heat control and proportional temperature control, but I'm not holding my breath.

This is a good fryer as far as it goes. It works nicely, has some good features that make it easier to clean than an old-fashioned bucket-type fryer. But it has a glaring design flaw. The heating unit attaches to the metal frame using a plastic bracket. If that bracket breaks and, believe me it will the unit becomes useless. That heating unit has to be securely attached to the frame in order to operate and once that bracket cracks, there is no way to operate the unit. Might as well flush $89 down the toilet. I am on my third unit and it has happened every time. I recommend avoiding this machine until DeLonghi replaces the plastic bracket with a more durable metal one. With that change, I would give this unit a clear five stars.

We had a major crisis in our house the other. You guessed it, the deep fryer broke. Wholly smokes has the field of deep fryers changed in the few years since I purchased one. I thought I might have to go back to college to figure out what I needed... So I took a risk and purchased the DeLonghi. Normally I do not like to buy things I can not pronounce, but hey, not having any deep fried chicken makes a man go crazy.

I was disappointed on opening the box, I thought it looked too small. I was planning on sending it back, but I really needed a chicken fix, so I filled 'er up with Emge lard (no California tofu eaters in this house) dunked a chicken in the basket and I had room for fries too!

Wholly smokes! This thing is awesome. Next test, hamburgers on the grill. What goes with hamburgers? you guessed it, Newcastle Ale, but fries sometimes work too. So I cut up some tators and I was able to fill a double basket full of tators!

Long to short, excellent product. Cooks great the capicity is a actually large. Twice as much as my older round "presto" average joe deep fryer. We are very happy with this product and would highly recommend it.

Best Deals on DeLonghi D14522DZ Dual Zone 4-Liter Deep Fryer

From the ease of use to the ease of cleanup, this is an excellent Deep Fryer. It heats up in less than 15 min and the easy oil drain is a plus. It disassembles easily and every thing but the heating element can be put in the dishwasher.

Honest reviews on DeLonghi D14522DZ Dual Zone 4-Liter Deep Fryer

... I've had absolutely no problems. Like Jimmy, below, our old 10-12 year fryer simply stopped heating, so I needed a new one and yeah, Southern Fried Chicken was first on the list.

Why this one? It was difficult to choose a fryer because there are so many of them. This model had generally good reviews and I didn't need the timer on the upscale models.

A lot of oil? Yup, about a gallon. The advantage is that the oil temperature is better maintained when adding food.

Temperature accuracy? I preheated to 250 (F) and 350 using my instant probe thermometer to check the temp at both points. Typically, it was +/4 degrees at both points. That's certainly about as accurately a temp as can be set with the knob.

Ok, so how does it cook? I set the temp to 350. While preheating, I cut up a 3.75 pound broiler-fryer. I coated the chicken in flour, salt and pepper. Ran it through a light egg wash (two eggs, milk and Tabasco sauce) and then coated it in flour again. I fried up the chicken in two batches so as not to overload the fryer. Each batch went into the oven on "keep warm" on a rack in a baking sheet (never use paper towels). Then, I cranked the temp all the way up and dumped in some frozen French fries. My wife said the chicken was the best she had. We had some of the left overs cold the next day and they were virtually grease-free.

So, what about the dreaded cleanup? Actually, it was pretty easy. Obviously, the oil has to cool down. I put my empty 1 gallon oil container in the sink with a kitchen funnel in the top. I inverted a fairly large, tall pot next to the sink. I put the fryer on the pot and extended it so the oil drain was over the funnel and opened the drain. The oil drained no leakage. Remove the heater, use a soapy sponge to clean it and rinse. All of the 'glump' stays in the bottom of the oil container. Scrape it out into the garbage and wash the container with soapy water. Done. Of course, if you're going to fry a lot, you don't have to clean it out every time. That's where the "Dual Zone" part works well.

Summary? No oil leaks, no doors that won't stay closed, the magnetically attached power cord didn't fall off, the temp was accurate and it's reasonably easy to clean. What more can I say? Yeah, I know, I've already said too much ;-)

Enjoy.

The best part of this fryer is it's ease of cleanup being that the oil is easilly drained, and the pan that holds the oil comes out. Also the element disconnects so you can really clean this thing. The unit will not turn on if the heating element isn't attached properly which is a nice safety feature. The outside doesn't get as hot as I thought it would though I'm sure you could still burn yourself if you touched it for any long period of time.

After just a year, my husband's control goes to "E" (for error?) when he'd move. The cord at his feet is always fully and tightly plugged in--so it seems to be a short in the actual surface area of the pad. Nothing we can fix. (We are both slim, with no pets or kids in the bed too. I haven't even washed it either.) Another drawback, is the plug-in being right where each of our feet are at the end of the bed. I'll definitely look for another brand.

Within less than a year, this item has heating elements that no longer work, leaving many cold spots in the bed. Additionally, the part where the cord plugs into the mattress cover is right where your feet hit. I'd take this back if I still had my receipt.

Best Deals on Biddeford 5202-505222-100 60 by 80-Inch Quilted Skirt Heated

This heating pad is GREAT! You can feel the coils a bit if you just use it alone, but if you put another mattress pad over it, you can't feel anything besides the plug connection at the bottom, and that is not bad. AS for the heat, it is great for taking the edge off a cold bed before you go to sleep, and keeps the bed nice and warm without being hot!. I would recommend it to anyone. Controls are very easy to use and it is easy to set up. The dual controls are great since my wife likes it quite warm, but I like to turn it off after getting into bed.

Honest reviews on Biddeford 5202-505222-100 60 by 80-Inch Quilted Skirt Heated

The only complaint is the wires are quite noticeable.

I bought this model because it has dual controls and dual wiresets.

I won't ever use it, but my wife commonly "freezes" at night.

She says it's wonderful.

She usually runs it at 6 (out of 10) and is quite comfortable.

Bonus when one controller or wireset eventually breaks, I can swap it for "mine" and use it even longer.

So aggravated! I bought one of these first. Got it home, unpacked it, plugged both sides in and turned them to "H" one at a time. One side worked fine and the other went to "E" for error within two minutes. Made sure the cord was not compressed or tangled, unplugged it and plugged it in again. Still the same error. Switched the actual plug from one side of the mattress pad to the other, and it still did it. Returned the product for a new one since I REALLY wanted this product. The new one did the EXACT SAME THING! Tried everything...different outlets, switching the plug from one side to the other, tried keeping heat setting to a lower number...STILL ERRORS OUT. So frustrating.

Pros: Unit works well to cool down the air and the noise is tolerable.

Update I was impressed with customer service: minimal wait on the phone, courteous service and prompt replacement of the broken parts (read "Cons" below).

Cons: unit is made entirely of plastic so it breaks easily. To illustrate this point: while assembling, a plastic clip that holds the hoses to the window vent unit broke off. After 4 uses, my wife noticed that a clip that held one of the hoses to the unit itself had also broken off. Bottom line: it is flimsy.

A second drawback is that the window vent section does not adjust to the size of the window. (A piece that we thought would be used to adjust to window size is actually a piece used for a patio door.)

A third drawback is that the hoses and window vent section are rather unwieldy to handle. Frequently, while trying to place the vents on the window while coupled to the hoses, the hoses come off easily off the unit so it is difficult to adjust everything correctly. And yes, the hoses have to be coupled because it is seemingly impossible to try to put them on after placing the vent section on the window.

I rarely write extensive product reviews, but I made an exception because this product is in an area of my specialization.

Portable a/c in general

Do not buy a portable a/c unless you really need its roll about feature. You can purchase efficient (EER above 10), small and quiet window units at half the cost of portable units. That being said, you still might opt for a portable unit if you: do not want to leave a window unit installed permanently, do not want to lift a window a/c in and out of a window each season, do not have access to a large enough window for a window a/c, etc.

If you do decide to purchase a portable a/c, only purchase a two hose unit not a one hose. A one hose unit is almost a scam. It uses room air to cool the unit and then expels the air outside through the one hose. You have just paid to cool that room air, and the one hose unit is equivalent to placing a fan in the window blowing out. Hot outside air will be drawn into the room to replace the air being used to cool the unit. As a result, the unit will provide reduced cooling, and it will run inefficiently. A two hose unit, like this one, uses the second hose to draw in outside air to cool the unit instead of using room air. (This is exactly how window a/c's and central a/c's operate.) Consequently, the two hose unit can cool efficiently and at its full Btu/hr rating.

This particular portable a/c

This unit has the all-important two hoses. It is relatively efficient, not too noisy and will cool a nice size room (200 250 sq ft). For a portable a/c, this unit is as good a choice as I found available, but it has its problems. Here are some with which you must deal.

1. Portable is a relative term. This unit weighs ~ 80 lbs; it is only portable on one floor.

2. The unit is rather large and takes considerable room space. The front of the unit will be about two ft into the room which adds to the room space problem.

3. The hoses are large (5 in diameter) and, to my eye, rather unattractive.

4. The manufacturer recommends running the unit using only one hose at outside temperature above 95 F. So, if it gets rather warm outside, it will get warm inside too.

5. The worst feature of the unit is the poorly designed window installation kit. It does not expand to fit the window width. You will need a saw to make it fit, and then it will not fit another size window if you want to move it. The kit will usually need to be adapted further to fit a window. In my case, there is a window sill, and the kit is not high enough for it. I used some wood pieces, wood stain, my saw again, and weather stripping for the installation. In addition, the hose connectors to the unit did not fit. I used a sharp utility knife to increase the opening size of the connector tabs.

The bottom line: with all of its problems, if you need the feature of a portable a/c, this unit is as good as I found in this small size (9000 Btu/hr).

Honest reviews on Sunpentown WA-9040DE 9000 BTU Portable Air Conditioner with Dual

It is hard for me to decide whether to give this review one star or two. Since this is my second unit. I initially received the first one with a crack by the led display so I had to request a return from Amazon. Once I got the return processed, it took over 2 weeks to get a replacement. Once I got the unit, I took it out of the box and did not like what I see. The unit looks old right out of the box. I can clearly see wear and tear by observing the the dust and cowebs on the inside of the window hoses. The unit works but it does not behave like one that I bought new from Amazon. I noticed it is moderately louder and occasionally makes buzzing sound when it is set to 73 degrees. I am not sure if the shipping department sent out the wrong order or thinks that I don't mind a refurbished or returned unit. As I remembered, I paid for a new one and not someone else return. When I first received this, I was thinking about returning the replacement unit but the heat in the house took anyway any motivation to do so. One advice I can give is...if you received a broken unit, I would not advise requesting for a replacement unit. I would request for a refund and reorder again. Learn from my mistake!I would never request for a replacement unit again from Amazon.

Pros:

Worked out of the box

Very quiet

Inexpensive

Outside air intake (sort of)

Broken window adapter replaced under warranty at no cost and little effort

Cons: This item is poorly designed. The manual states that the outside air intake must be detached when the outside temperature exceeds 95 degrees F. to prevent the compressor from overheating (this isn't easily done). Also, the unit mixes room air with the air sucked in from outside. Naturally, this largely defeats the advantage of a dual hose system. Also, the hoses are mounted right behind the cooling coils, which probably disrupts air flow through them. Finally, the parts themselves seem sort of flimsy (particularly the tabs that lock the air hoses to AC).

Other Thoughts: I'm a little disappointed that the thermostat only goes down to 64 degrees. It's worth being aware that the fan seems to run constantly even when the compressor isn't on, and there seems to be a noticeably loud water pump (a guess) that frequently cycles on and off when the humidity is high. Also, this unit comes with casters. You could unscrew them, but there are bolts sticking out past the bottom of the unit.

For the price, I'm satisfied with the air conditioner, but you can probably find better at a higher price point.

The thermostat looks kind of bulky on the wall, but so do many others. The "needle" inside of it that shows the temperature can be off by around 5°. The other problem that I have with this thing is the silly range. It starts at 45° and ends at 75°. This means that you can't have a room warmer than 75°. My other thermostats go to around 95°. Not that I'll ever need it that hot, but it's good to be able to. All together, skip this one.

The thermostat is more than just a few degrees off. I bought two of these products with the same result.

When the thermostat does decide to come on, it never consistently decides to turn off. I will have the thermostat at 72 degrees, and 76 degrees later, the heater is still running. Replaced with different thermostat. I will never purchase again.

We've used this space heater for a little over a year to heat our girls' bedroom at night. I was really pleased with it the first year, but noticed recently that it never seemed to switch off, even though we would put it at the same temperature setting as we always had. So I tested it in my office during the day, so I could be sure to notice if it ever switch off. I ran it for about 5 hours in my office, and even though the office became quite warm, the heater never kicked off.

It still works well as far as putting out heat and everything, but I would not have purchased it originally if it didn't have a thermostat, which now doesn't seem to be working.

I live in an apartment, and the old honeywell thermostat was pretty basic. And located right above all of my electronics, so guaranteed to be reading the wrong temperature virtually all the time. This thermostat is a huge improvement. With an additional sensor (purchased separately) I can now move the sensor to my location (say, bedroom at night) and the heating system will mainly focus on that area instead of the living room. It can actually use 2 inside sensors and one external (for reference, I guess and all extra purchases, just so you know) and average the inside TC's to control the temperature. I would heartily recommend this setup. And it's not very difficult to program. The face plate can "pop off" the wall mounted base plate so you can do the programming in a more convenient place, like the couch or the kitchen table! Well done design-wise.

Update: Feb 2, 2013.

Well, the control unit has failed after about 2 months. I was just on the phone with customer support, they sent another thermostat when I expected an exact replacement. I'm surprised to see the other reviewer had his unit replaced. I was literally just told that the unit is not available (no longer manufactured, discontinued) and cannot be replaced. I'm not saying that their lying, as they may have decided that this unit is not reliable and have pulled it.

I will try to send the first unit back to the seller and get my money back. Then I will try to order an exact replacement and give it another try as I really do like the unit. It failed when I popped the "convenient" faceplate off to replace the backup battery. While we did get the unit working again in a basic capacity, the programmable functionality is gone. Unlike the other reviewer, my remote unit works just fine, and it can still be set to read off of that remote sensor. It just won't hold any program.

I have bought two of these for two different homes. They work great if you have an unbalance heating system that gets some rooms hot while leaving others cold. In theory, you can just take the sensor (sold separately) with you from room to room and the thermostat will react to the temperature reading on the sensor, thus heating the room you have the sensor in to the requested temperature. Both houses where I have installed these have very poorly balanced heating systems. It is handy, with a few caveats.

First off, installation can be a bit tricky if your existing system does not exactly match the diagrams in the installation manual. It took me a few tries, but I did get it wired properly in about an hour. If you're not comfortable with handyman projects, don't even look at installing this yourself. On the upside, this is designed for low-voltage systems, so there's not really any way to hurt yourself.

Secondly, this thermostat has WAY too many buttons. I don't even know what most of them do. Unless you are an utter and complete temperature-control geek, the functions and buttons on this are completely over-the-top. So much so that if you ever go to reprogram this you must have the manual, because you'll have a tough time remembering how to do it. Plenty of thermostats get by with four to six straightforward buttons to achieve all the functions a normal person needs...

Lastly, the range on the sensor isn't spectacular. One of the houses I installed this in has some cinderblock walls, and even with line of site to the thermostat, the sensor was out of range. It seems to have pretty good range through drywall, etc., but the cinderblock was too much.

Overall, this can be handy and is much cheaper than any other unit I've found with a remote sensor. If that sensor is what you need, this is worth the money, but if you don't need the remote, skip this one.

Best Deals on Supco 43665 Programmable Wall Thermostat with Auto Season

So I'm not going to dump $200 into a NEST, which doesn't even have this feature remote temperature sensor. This is amazing. I can sleep at night and not get overheated or over-cooled in a specific room of the house.

Honest reviews on Supco 43665 Programmable Wall Thermostat with Auto Season

I ordered this thermostat with the remote sensor and was never able to get it recognize the temperature on the remote sensor. I contacted the manufacturer and they sent a new t-state and remote. I could not get these to work even after spending time on the phone with customer service. I send back the 2 remotes and 1 t-stat. It works fine as a t-state EXCEPT the cover latch broke on both so the T-stat has the buttons showing. Great idea terrible execution.

I bought this expecting the extra vertical height to deliver the heat at a more direct level. Which it kind of does but that design is a compromise which doesn't offer a great benefit.

The design gives you the impression that the front fascia is mostly a heat output area but that's a lie. What they've done is taken a typical 1500W wide-type heating element and just stretched it vertically, so the actual area of output is through a 1 inch vertical gap between the center three fins. The lower quarter of the design is for the fan intake too so don't consider that part of the heating element.

What this means is the heat delivery is a very narrow area of effect and you have to be standing within about three or four feet to feel it on your skin. In fact the output even on high is not very hot at all. On the plus side it means the casing remains cool to the touch on all sides, in fact you could actually put your hand over the opening and leave it there. A hair dryer has a hotter output and at high speed this unit sounds about the same as a hair dryer so it needs to be at a distance. Low speed is more tolerable.

The remote is useful in that it has an LCD feedback display for temperature and fan setting but is very cheaply made with loose, cheap feeling buttons. The main unit fares better but it is not one of Lasko's better quality products.

If you want to slowly heat a small room then this would probably work, but for medium to large rooms the output will not provide instant heat and be in constant use trying to automatically maintain your set temperature.

I have a smaller Lasko heater, but I needed a bigger one to heat my 670SF work space. It works great. Really gets the place comfortable. The price is affordable, too.

I works pretty well. My furnace went out one morning and this kept my living/kitchen room at 58-60F. It is nice thats its taller than most space heaters incase you were in bed or on a couch.

Honest reviews on Lasko 5588 Ceramic Tower Heater with Remote

Having purchased a Lasco fan which works very well and has a relatively small footprint, I definitely turned to Lasko when I was looking for a heater. The 5588 fit the bill. I have not experienced any problems, EXCEPT that when my printer (in the office where I was using the heater) began to print, the electricity went out. I had to get a new line for my office to prevent this from happening again. Now it works well! I imagine that my experience is similar to others who have purchased a heater (Lasko or another brand). It is well to be warned so you are prepared if this happens to you. Getting a new line installed cost me almost $300.00, but, in the end, it was worth it.

This is the best tower heater ive ever used. Love that the remote has a small lcd display. Heats up my bedroom quick. Love the automatic temp thing, turns off when it gets to the temp and then keeps checking it every once in a while to see if its still the same temp. Only dislike is the bright blue lights on the top, just a little too bright for sleeping.

This is the best basic non-programmable thermostat I have ever installed or used. I have put in several in businesses, churches, my home(s), relative's homes, and friend's homes. I like it that much. It does a much better job of temperature sensing than cheaper (no-name) brands that you can buy for less at the local hardware store. Therefore, the temperature is maintained much more evenly, making it obviously more comfortable.

By far one of my favorite features is the filter alarm. How do you know if your filter needs replacing at 2 or 3 or 4 months? It all depends on how long the fan has run. This thermostat keeps track of the fan running time and you can adjust the time interval on the filter alarm for your environment. Not even the expensive Honeywell thermostats have this feature. (Most of the White-Rodgers / Emerson's do!) Most filter alarms are based only on the number of days that have gone by, not the time the fan is running during those days.

Another nice feature is that it maintains separate heat and cool set temperatures. Many thermostats, especially cheaper ones, have only one set temperature, making it very likely, for example, that when you switch from cool to heat that the furnace will come on immediately. With this thermostat you can set your favorite temps for both, for example, cool to 74 degrees and heat to 68. That way when you switch between them you don't have to change anything else.

It is easy to use and hides all the un-needed controls behind an easy to access panel. This makes it simple for even little kids or anyone else to use. It never beeps at you and has held up well for years. I'm currently buying two more for my new house!

I have been using the good old round thermostat for years but I saw these installed where I work, and after using it, I decided to try one, can't beat it, its easy to use, don't need a instruction book to program it you just press the arrow keys up or down, move the switch left or right for heat or air, and you got all you need. The temperature is right on. You want 68 set it for 68 it will get to that temperature, with the round thermostat you are always guessing the final temperature

Good replacement thermostat, easy to install and accurate. Keeps a closure and more precise measurement then the original with mercury contacts.

Arrived in a timely manner, consistent with other orders placed through the Amazon website. Within 3 weeks, the item failed to properly operate, and when I contaced the seller, he was less than cooperative in attempting to rectify the order. Upon contacting Amazon directly, I received a credit to my account for the full price. It has been some years since I wrote this review, and I know not how things change over time, with respect to either products, or suppliers. I would prefer to remove this review, as I cannot attest as to its accuracy at this time, but I do not know how to do so.

Other than the multi-fit aspect of this timer it is just fine. Had to take my old timer out first to look at the original wire placement and color coding to determine which way to wire new timer, but it was pretty easy to figure out. there is really not to many ways to wire the new one.

Honest reviews on Whirlpool Defrost Timer, 482493

The problem was 1 of two parts. Unfortunately, I ordered this one first and it did not fix the problem. Look for black residue around the Cold Control Thermostat and that will be the bad part. Good deal on this part though.

They shipped fast. It fit fine. They included all needed instructions. Only problem is that it quit working nine months later.
