I picked this part up because my house was hit by lightning. I looked at this part on my kenmore stove, and it looked burnt in spots. So I figured that's why my oven was not working. Replaced with this thermostat, and it fixed the problem.

Just what we needed to fix our oven and not pay for a whole new oven. Our oven was not heating and cooking the foods all the way. The temperature for the oven was not going as high as it should have been. We replaced the old thermostat and now our oven works great!

I bought this part to replace the thermostat on my GE XL44 oven. However, the part shipped DOES NOT match the image for this product.

The item I received had the control knob in the *center*, rather than on the top of the switch, meaning it doesn't actually fit or line up in the oven properly.

With some tin snips and a bit of ingenuity I was able to get it wedged in there and functioning, but I wanted to warn other buyers before they make the same mistake.

Of course, the packaging states that once opened, the item can't be returned.

Stand fan heater much more powerful then compact fan heater. hot hot hot.. Has to be positioned a distant away from people. Thermostat can be set to desired temp and shuts off after a few minutes reaching the setting.

Cons:

Took a while to figure out how to assemble the base/pedestal part. But once that's done evrything's fine.

I find that in general Lasko products are reliable.

I did not like this product. I was very excited when I received. Good price, good size, but I turned on and it stoped by itself. I tried several times. Finally, I gave up and returned it and got my money back.

My boyfriend and I live in a basement apartment so we don't have a stove. I bought this brand because I bought him a different brand for christmas, after 3 months, the left burner stopped working. We decided to get a new hot plate that was a different brand. When we received this item, I used it the next day, it warms up so fast, the only issue I have is that it doesn't boil water well, other than that I recommend this product.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program We've "suffered" with a Black and Decker iron for a few years. While it worked it just wasn't doing a great job and for the longest time, we didn't want to invest in a new iron if it wasn't broken. Well, it finally broke so we tried the Rowenta DW4060 and, wow, it is like night and day.

The iron is a joy to use. Not only does it heat up quickly, it also steams very well. I can actually iron without starch with this iron. The narrow tip is excellent for getting around buttons and tight areas. There are a lot of settings but we mainly use it on the higher settings and it has done a great job each time. Auto Shutoff works as normal and iron is rather lightweight.

This Iron has been excellent and I've not picked up a can of starch since having it. I can highly recommend this iron.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program This Rowenta has a lot going for it and is a lot better in many ways than my old Panasonic iron. This iron is probably 20 percent lighter, which makes ironing noticeably less tiring and labor intensive. I think this is because the smooth silver plate is thinner. Despite the lighter weight, I find with the help of the steam function, I don't need to press hard to get the wrinkles out.

The steam feature on this iron is really effective. There are more holes and the steam comes out in nice big clouds and easily blasts out the wrinkles. However as a result, I find it goes through water about twice as fast as my old iron, but that is because it is actually steaming like it should. I always use distilled water to prevent buildup. I can probably iron 4 pair of pants on high steam before having to refill the tank.

Most of what I iron are cotton items like chinos and t-shirts. I simply set it to cotton and it heats up very fast and works like a charm. The nose plate is pointy which is an added bonus for getting into creases and other tough to reach spots. I like this iron very much and would recommend.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program This iron replaces the Black & Decker D2030 Digital Advantage we were very happy with. But that iron has seen use and now the spray nozzle is clogged. Just the excuse to get a new iron. So how does this one compare to that highly rated iron? Here are pros and cons:

Pros:

* Precision tip works really to get into the corners.

* Cord stays out of the way nicely.

* Does a good getting the wrinkles out.

* Delivers a good amount of steam.

* Digital light telling you when the iron is hot enough.

* Electronic shut-off.

* Vertical steam function (probably not going to replace a dedicated steam machine if you need one, but nice to have in a pinch).

* Scratch resistant, stainless steel hot plate.

Cons:

* Steam is non-adjustable. Steam adjustment is not independently set from temperature. That was a nice a feature on the B&D.

* Light does not tell you when it is done going from a hot temp to a cooler one.

* Does not include a water pitcher to aid filling it. (A minor gripe but it's a nice to have.)

Debatable:

* Digital temp setting (Black & Decker) versus dial setting (Rowenta).

* Does not beep letting you know it is hot. Maybe you're used to this and are looking for this feature.

Summary:

This is a very nice iron that gets the core of what an iron should be good at right it does a great job getting the wrinkles out and includes some nice features to help in that area. Where it stumbles slightly is in not including some nice ease-of-use features that cheaper irons like the Black & Decker include.

Honest reviews on Rowenta DW4060 Auto Steam Iron 1700W with Airglide Stainless Steel

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program My old iron is 7 years old and was one of the best irons I have ever owned, but it was time to be replaced...and I selected this one. I was skeptical because it did not have a teflon-coated face so I was scared that it would scorch or melt if too hot. I have had no issues with it. It heats up fast and has worked as expected. I iron every morning and whether it is cotton shirts, wool slacks or silk tiesI have had no problems. The iron is slightly heavier than my previous iron, but is balanced so that you do not feel like you are constantly fighting it.

Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Rowenta DW4060 Auto Steam Iron 1700W with Airglide Stainless Steel

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program I think I might be lucky. I don't know why other reviewers had issues with this iron, but as long as you start ironing after it becomes hot, there is no issue with the steam. It is heavy, non stick, does the steam well, and overall a very good iron.

My only complaint is that the cable management could have been better, i.e.: many high quality irons have a "trench" that you can roll the cable around, but that's only a minor issue.

This worked great for Thanksgiving. It cooked our Turkey in half the time a regular oven would take, leaving the meat moist.

The "burn in" only took about an hour, not a big deal.

The lid and roaster pan are coated metal, which lifts out for easy cleaning.

I have a Nesco Roaster that I purchased at least 12 years ago. I loved it!! It was great for turkeys, ribs, stew, beans, anything!! The only reason I was replacing it was because the Teflon coating was starting to come off and the roaster was getting "hot spots". The lid had seen better days, and... well, it was just tired! The roaster I ordered was the same as my old one so I expected many years of use and enjoyment. I was soooo wrong! I received the roaster and it was very cheaply made. The lid was thinner and the metal was ripply. After two hours of "airing" it out, the smell pretty much was gone but still noticeable. I figured, oh well, nothing is made as well as it used to be made and proceeded to wash the roaster so I could use it for dinner. I didn't want to use it the first time for Thanksgiving and have any surprises! It's a good thing!! I made Teriyaki chicken tenders with vegetables. EVERYTHING stuck to the sides, to the point that it took major scrubbing to get it off, even after soaking over night. I was a bit surprised but figured I would have to live with it. The deal breaker occurred when I was cooking the chicken and tried to remove the lid. It wouldn't budge. When I finally pried the lid off, the paint from the lid had melted onto the roaster, fusing the two together. The burning paint stunk to high Heaven and is permanently on the edge of the roaster. Though the roaster pan and the lid seem to have bonded, the same is not true for me. It's going back! Paint that melts when heated can't be safe. So disappointing and so sad!! :(

I purchased by first Nesco oven from QVC about 12 years ago...still works after all this time! I absolutely loved it then and still do. It cooks meat like no other oven I have ever used. The first thing I used it for was to roast a ham. It was so juicy and moist that I NEVER cook ham any other way. I used it to bake an apple pie because I had run out of room in my ovens... I thought okay it will just have to be browned in the conventional oven... NOT true.. the crust baked and browned beautifully. I use it for everything.

This is a great product that can be used for ANYTHING you would use a normal oven for. I bought another one last year because it is such a wonderful product. This year they will both get used!!!

For several years I've been hankering for an immersion circulator to try sous vide cooking at home. I didn't have the $2000 plus for a complete PolyScience unit, or even the $900 or so for a pro quality circulator head. So without expecting too much, I bought the oddly, sweetly named DorkFod DSV Temperature Controller and teamed it up with a 7 quart manual crock pot I found on sale at a local discount store for $19.

Much to my surprise, the combination totally rocks. The DorkFood unit is solidly built, easy to use, and holds the temperature I set within about 0.2 degrees Fahrenheit. The natural bottom to top convection of the crock pot, even without an additional circulator, has provided even heat for my sous vide creations. If you've never had leg of lamb cooked under vacuum for 36 hours you don't know what you're missing: a mild, non-gamy flavor with the buttery texture of filet mignon. Lobster tails cooked with garlic butter unbelievably tender and sweet. Restaurant quality duck confit becomes child's play! Cure duck legs (with thigh) overnight with salt, thyme and crushed juniper berries rinse and pat dry the next day seal under vacuum with 1 tablespoon of rendered duck fat per leg and cook at 167 degrees for 30 hours or more for the most succulent duck you've ever tasted. After cooking I cut off the skin and fry it under a cast iron weight (affectionately known as a "pig") and top the duck leg with a crispy duck bacon "cracker."

There are so many free resources on-line and great books at Amazon for sous vide coooking it's easy to get started. And for a total of $118 including the crock pot DorkFood exceeded my expectations. Although I have a good vacuum sealer (VacMaster VP112) many sous vide dishes can be prepared using carefully sealed freezer quality ZipLoc bags. This product really lowers the bar for getting into the wonderful world of sous vide. Nature may abhor a vacuum, but adventurous chefs love it!

I am so happy that there is finally an affordable solution out there for the rest of us. We frequently have dinner parties and sous vide is a super easy way to cook an amazing meal for many people. I use it a lot to cook fish and steak, but we have also used it for chicken, lamb, and even veggies. There are a lot of good cookbooks out there too, but I think experimenting with your own recipes is part of the fun.

Small hint: Whole Foods and some other stores will vacuum seal your meats if you ask nicely with a smile :)

The device may look a little intimidating at first, but its actually very simple to use. It also comes with a small handout that has instructions and pictures for setting it up. The unit is a little industrial looking so I'm happy that its small enough to put away out of sight after I'm done cooking. I hope the company makes a "prettier" version of the device soon.

But my absolute FAVORITE part about the DSV is that it allows you to transform your existing kitchen devices... those that have been sitting unused in the kitchen cabinets gathering a thick layer of dust... into a fancy state-of-the-art sous vide machine that is just as good as the $500+ models.

I would highly recommend this product to any of my friends and I'm getting my parents one for Christmas this year. It would also make a very unique wedding present or a cool gift for the aspiring chef in the family.

Best Deals on DorkFood DSV Temperature Controller for Sous-vide

Very simple tool to cook via the Sous Vide method. Did four filets with butter and salt in the bag. 135 degrees for 2 hours, a very quick sear at the end. Amazing results, may be the one of the best steaks I've ever had.

The unit is very easy to setup, make sure your Crock Pot has a mechanical temperature switch, not electronic. Kept the water at the perfect temperature for the entire cooking time. Preheated the water for 1 hour before to let the unit calibrate. Would highly recommend.

Honest reviews on DorkFood DSV Temperature Controller for Sous-vide

Thank you, Dorks. This is the small scale, clutter free, set-and-forget appliance I was waiting for.

I snare spiny lobster and spear a lot of fish, and have been wanting sous vide capability for a long time. But my tiny kitchen will not fit any more gadgets; not one more pot. I didn't want a barn rigged mess of DIY components. I can't cope with longer cords or circulators or racks or vacuum sealers or any more stuff. Now with my $15 crockpot and the DSV, I'm good to go.

First try out of the box, I made the best pork tenderloin of my life. Seafood is like something from a very moist alien world. I will NEVER cook my lobsters any other way. I use regular zip bags or roll softer proteins into cling wrap cylinders. As I learn better techniques, I may just wrap. It's faster and cheaper and there is no movement to disturb it. Worries about uniform food thickness are unfounded for home cooking. That's for chefs who must produce many meals in a limited time. No part of the food can ever be overheated. Texture differences in thin areas from a few more minutes at target temperature are imperceptible. Flavors are intensified. Use less spice and seasoning.

Despite a few overwrought reviews, my Dork works perfectly. Unless you sleep in the kitchen, concerns about the clicking are ridiculous. Put on some music in the living room and it's unnoticeable. It holds 1º over the displayed temperature according to a reliable stick probe. I normally preheat the water in a fast electric kettle. Then the Dork powers the crock heater for a few seconds 3 or 4 times/minute. It doesn't heat up the kitchen and that's a big deal in Florida. Like running a 20 watt bulb, the power costs a penny for 3 hours of cooking.

The only valid issue with this approach to sous vide is the use of low-power heaters. The cooking water should be up to target temperature before introducing the food, which will cool it. This can be a long wait with a 100 200 watt crockpot like mine. So preheat the water quickly in a pot or kettle, much hotter than cooking temperature. The crock has to be heated too. Then adjust with a little tap water to the target temperature and off you go. With a few tries, you will hit target temperature in 5 minutes with very little fuss. The Dork helps by constantly displaying the actual water temperature.

The general problem with sous vide is long cooking times. With a nice controller like the Dork, it doesn't have to be your time. Go outside for some sun, fresh air, and exercise. Dinner will be perfect whenever you get back.

Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for DorkFood DSV Temperature Controller for Sous-vide

The DSV is a fantastic way to get into sous-vide cooking without spending a ton of money. I looked at several DIY options, but I don't think they are very cost effective, nor safe unless you really know what you're doing (and I don't).

I have tried this with a 4QT slow cooker/crock pot and with a Oster 14 cup rice cooker. Either works fine.

It takes a long time to "settle" on your selected temprature, even if you pre-heat the water. For example, if I set the temp to 140F, often it will hold at about 145F after about 30 min and takes quite a while to come back down. The temprature on the unit and the temp as read on a separate thermometer are exactly same, generally about 5 degrees too high. Odd, but after a couple of hours it will generally "settle" at the selected temp. I can work around this by either intentionally setting the temp lower than desired or just wait however long it takes for it to settle at the selected temp.

They claim the device can maintain the temp at +/.25F once the unit settles on the selected temp. I have found that to be spot on, once settled it never deviates.

Overall, I am very happy with this purchase. I hope it lasts a long time!

I installed a programmable Honeywell RTH7600D thermostat in the home of my parents (who are in their late 70s) to replace an old mercury switch thermostat. It worked great, but then I started to worry about what would happen if the programming got screwed up by accident. It seemed unlikely that my parents would be able to wade through the instruction booklet, and the thermostat wasn't intuitive enough for me to talk them through it on the phone. And besides, my parents had been in the habit of adjusting the thermostat at wake-up time and at bed time for most of their lives, so the programming feature was kind of overkill for them.

As a replacement, I picked the Honeywell FocusPro 5000, and everybody has been thrilled with it. It has only 4 buttons whose functions are completely obvious (temp up, temp down, fan auto/on, and heat/cool/off). The only time you need the instructions is during initial set-up so the thermostat knows what kind of system it's controlling, but once that's over with, the instructions can go in the drawer.

This thermostat does NOT require batteries, unless it's hooked to a system that lacks a "common" or "C" wire. Most systems installed in the past 20 years have a 24 volt common wire terminal on them, in which case batteries aren't required as the thermostat takes power from the HVAC system itself. It's possible that some systems that have a 24 volt common capability didn't have it hooked up because many older thermostats didn't need 24 volt power, but if that's the case, it's pretty easy to make the connection at the furnace or air handler (turn off the power first!) and then make the connection at the other end on the thermostat using one of what are probably several spare wires tucked back into the wall behind the old thermostat.

The FocusPro 5000 has a huge display that even the most visually impaired person can read easily, day or night. The back light is strong and comes on for about 8 seconds once you press the temp up or temp down button. Digits and letters are dark and bold. Temperature control is precise. Yes, there is a soft click when the relays turn the fan or compressor on, but it's only minimally annoying, and I don't know how it might be avoided (unless you go back to a thermostat with a mercury switch).

My only word of caution: if you have a heat pump system that includes auxiliary or emergency heat (i.e. an electric heating coil in the air handler) then you'll need to order a FocusPro 5000 model that can handle TWO heating zones (such as the FocusPro 5000 TH5220D1029), as auxiliary or emergency heat is considered a discrete zone that a 1 heat/1 cool thermostat won't be able to manage.

This has changed our life. It is easy to install and easy to use. No more trying to figure out what temp to keep the house, it does it on its own. You just set a high and a low and it kicks on the heat or the AC. I haven't touched the thermostat since I installed it and the house has been at an even temp, night and day.

Best Deals on Focuspro 5000 Non-Programmable Thermostat

I am a Design/Builder in NC and have tried multiple models of Energy Star Thermostats on my homes. They have been a real pain in the arse ( to say the least!)to figure out. Plus my customers call me back and ask me to switch them to the regular Thermostat because they too can't figure out the programming.

This is the simple way to save on power bills and Thermostat abuse! It has a security code which allows you to limit the temperature ranges!!!! This means the end of Thermostat abuse for the person who pays the power bills.

We set ours to a maximum temperature of 72 for Heat in the Winter, and a maximum Cool of 76 in the Summer. This will save Us plenty. Children, Students, Grandparentas, Office Workers, House Guests and Gremlins won't be able to abuse our Precious Resources nearly as much with these Simple Instruments!!!!

Lower your Carbon Footprint today and get the right model for your home, office or business. IF you must use an Emergency Heat Strip , I believe you'll need to get a different model. I don't use our Heat Strip and that saves on power bills as well!

Plus the Folks at Honeywell have good Technical Support. If you aren't a mechanic, buy the right model and have a pro install them. The wiring can be tricky.

Honest reviews on Focuspro 5000 Non-Programmable Thermostat

This unit was installed with a new air handler about a week ago. Its simple and intuitive enough to operate without using the instruction manual. No programming functions are available. The screen is bright and the text is easy enough to read. Id prefer if all of the text was a bit darker to provide a bit more contrast and make it easier to read but it isn't an issue the way it is.

The only real benefit of this unit over a conventional mercury switch thermostats is that it can maintain temperature to a very specific temperature which so far seems that the AC is cycling less than it used to. I can't give this unit all of the credit however, as the new air handler is more efficient than the one it replaced.

You have to use batteries to power the unit. Being new I don't know what the battery life will be yet but I see this as a negative over an "old" style conventional thermostat.

The only other complaint I have about this unit is that there is a clearly audible click as the unit cycles on or off.

In general I wouldn't spend the money to upgrade to this unit from a conventional thermostat unless you do it as part of an overall HVAC system upgrade.

Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Focuspro 5000 Non-Programmable Thermostat

Let's be frank...for the most of us, we don't really need a $200-300 thermostat that can bake you a cake while telling you how hot or cold it is in your house. Yup...some of these fancy thermostats are super cool to have, but may not be the greatest thing in the world for people like...my parents.

I purchased this thermostat to replace an older thermostat that stopped working correctly (and was never used correctly). It had the whole 7 day programmable thing going on with Away, Day, Night, Sleep, etc. cycles. My folks just wanted a simple thermostat that they could turn on when needed, set to the temp they wanted, and not think too much about how to set their home to the right temperature. This thermostat works perfectly for them and they love it!

Only thing of concern...in the photos, the display looks darn right humongous. I thought to myself, wow...this will be great for my mom whose vision has slid over the years. In reality, the display is pretty small. The dimensions of the unit are listed on the Amazon site and I didn't take the time to figure out how big this unit really is. It's not that big. So if you're buying this primarily for the HUGE display...just know...it's not that huge. I'm taking away one star for that fact, because the product description states: "Easy-to see and read; large, clear backlit digital display"...but it isn't really all that large.

Customer Ratings: 4.5 stars

2001: I had no experience with dehydrating before I got this machine. It comes with a good instruction guide on how to prep the veggies and fruits. The drying times are very accurate as listed in the book. The speed for drying apples is 5-6 hours, maybe less if you leave some space between them, I've found. It also comes with the trays to make fruit leather. Easy to clean with a warm wet cloth. A great little workhorse, all around. Very pleased!

Post script 2005: it died when washed out in a 2004 flood of our basement! How ironic!

I love my dehydrator. The thing is easy to use, with a controllable thermostat labeled for whatever you're drying (high temp for meat, low for herbs). The manual that comes with it is easy to understand, and has terrific recipes in it. I highly recommend getting the two extra trays, a fruit leather sheet, and plenty of the "clean-a-screen" inserts. (And if you're feeling really adventurous, the jerky making kit is *awesome*!)

Once you've made banana "chips" in your dehydrator, you'll never buy those nasty fried store-bought ones again! Pineapple is delicious dried, and dried apples are simply marvelous. You can dry almost anything, and know exactly what's in it. Why pay good money for chemicals and so-so taste, when you can make your own really healthy snacks for you and the kids in this very handy appliance?

It just isn't any simpler than this!

Best Deals on Nesco American Harvest FD-50 Snackmaster Pro 4-Tray Dehydrator

I had purchased this dehydrator at a retail store for more than it is offered here, but it is worth it. I sit in an office chair all day and tend to get a case of the "munchies" during the day. I used to buy candy bar after candy bar, which in turn put a few pounds on me as well. With the dehydrator I can make healthy foods to snack on that are good tasting and economical. I would suggest to anyone looking to save a few dollars and a few inches on the waistline to invest in one. You won't regret it

Honest reviews on Nesco American Harvest FD-50 Snackmaster Pro 4-Tray Dehydrator

It takes me twenty minutes to core, peel, slice, and treat 5-6 apples, lay them out on the trays, and get them started. After some experimentation, I have settled on using four parts water to one part lemon juice and a little cinnamon for the treatment, and the same liquid can be refrigerated and used on subsequent batches. (For other fruits, use common sense; e.g., for pears, I use ground cloves instead of cinnamon.)

I initially tried using a slicer/corer and then sliced the slices lengthwise in thirds or so. However, this gave them all an uneven thickness, which was not ideal. I then tried the way recommended in the book: core and slice in rings. This was better, but ultimately I developed a hybrid approach: cut the apple in half through the stem and core; core each half with a knife, peel, and then slice the other direction into half-rings. It's easier to get a uniform thickness this way than with the full rings, and more apples fit on the trays at once due to less wasted space. (I majored in math, so I know how to fit the max number of slices on at once without overlapping. YMMV.)

As far as apples: use apples that have good flavour. It does matter which variety of apples you use. Granny Smith have good flavour, but are not terribly sweet. Fuji are very good. Macintosh are excellent. Sarah will just about go through fire for dried Yellow Delicious. Gala are pretty good. Jonathan are excellent, and Jonagold are good. I want to do Grimes Golden, but I couldn't find any this year; maybe next year.

There's just one problem: at the thickness I've been slicing them, it takes about six hours for a batch of apples to dry. This produces one Ziploc freezer bag full of dried apples, which my family proceeds to eat in about an hour. They then look at me with greedy eyes: "When are you going to dry more apples, Nathan?" Well, let's see... if I put some more in right away, I'd have to stay up till about 3am to get them out. I have a feeling my family would be okay with that: they could then have dried apples for breakfast.

Since I wrote the above paragraph, I now have a four more trays (total of eight), which helps a lot. The book says that I can use up to twelve trays with this model. The four trays it comes with are enough for experimenting, but not enough for the sort of mass production my family wants me to undertake. (I keep pondering when the novelty will wear off. I'm not holding my breath: dried apples are _good_.)

My first batch of bananas was a little disappointing: I expected to get the crunchy hard banana chips like you buy for two limbs at bulk food stores. For whatever reason, the ones I did did not turn out that way. I left them in for way longer than the book said bananas would take, and they were still chewy. I first tried fully ripe bananas, then tried some mildly underripe ones next time thinking that might be the difference; it was not. Also, the book didn't say anything about needing to treat bananas, so I didn't the first time, and they turned brown. I should have anticipated that (they're *bananas*, after all, of *course* they would turn brown). I treated the next batch with pineapple juice, and they didn't turn brown.

The book says use ripe fruit. It's not kidding. Results with under-ripe fruit are disappointing at best. Results with ripe fruit are always good.

We tried jerky, and it works if you're into that sort of thing. (Personally, I'm not a big jerky fan.) I want to try carrots and other vegitables.

The book says watermelon comes out like candy, so I tried it. As would be expected, it takes a lot longer to dry than apples, but the results are good. They're not like what you'd expect, but they're good. Dried watermelon does not taste nearly as much like fresh watermelon as most people expect, but once you get over the difference, it does have a good flavour. It reminds my mom of pumpkin, but you can taste the watermelon in it if you're paying attention. It's an acquired taste, but after a couple of pieces you don't want to stop eating it.

Dried peaches and pears are fantastic. I still want to know how to make crunchy dried banana chips, though.

This is fun, and tasty.

*** Addendum: I have now had a chance to compare this model and the (cheaper) Ronco FD5 in action side-by-side, and the Snackmaster FD-50 is easily worth the extra ten bucks. For reasons why, see my review of the FD5.

Five stars. Five words: Buy one of these things.

I bought this dehydrator on the recommendations of all the reviewers and I have been totally pleased with it. I have tried tomotoes, mangos, bananas and jerky. The only drawback to this is the fact that drying food is more an art than a science. I have done 3 batches of jerky, and each time it gets better, but still too dry. I am narrowing the drying times down to within a few hours, but still not quite perfect. Other than the On-the-job-training in drying times, this works quite well. I am please with it and would recommend it to anyone. The plus is that I have even found accesories for it at Wal-Mart!
