Clover B7A-Black Hot and Cold Water Dispenser in Black Reviews

Clover B7A-Black Hot and Cold Water Dispenser in Black

The main thing I wanted in a water cooler was to actually make the water cold. I did a lot of research and found that most of the popular ones only cooled water to around 50 degrees F and were not adjustable. All I can say is when I have any kind of drink, I'm the kind of person that fills the cup with ice first. This cooler is perfect for me. Makes ice cold water without needing to add ice to the glass and I don't even have it turned to the coldest setting. I don't use the hot water so I can't comment on that. Water flows quickly, especially more so the fuller the bottle is. For ice cold water, this one is perfect.

After reading reviews, I decided to go with the Clover B7A hot and cold water dispenser. However, I saw that this item came in black and had only 2 reviews (one 5 star and one 1 star) so the rating was kind of low. Let me go ahead and bring that star rating up a bit as this product is awesome. I was able to set it up in almost no time and it didn't leak, didn't taste like plastic and the cold was plenty cold and the hot was really hot!

I would recommend this water dispenser to everyone.

My dispenser arrived promptly and worked very well for the first month. During the first month the unit was quiet and you would not know it was in the kitchen. Since the the first month however the unit will make a noise once every hour or so as though it is re-heating or cooling the water. It lasts for about 60 seconds and then stops but it is a little annoying and makes me wonder if it a precursor to a bigger problem. The unit still works and appears to be sound in every other way.

I have had the item for about two months now and love it! I almost purchased more expensive models and I decided to take a chance on this one and I am happy I did!

This unit is working just as I had hoped it would. It is a nice looking unit, and the hot is hot and the cold is quite cold. No issues or concerns at this time.

This is a good quality product. You can spend a lot more for a dehydrator but probably not get much more in functionality and overall value. It is easy to use and easy to clean. It has a small footprint and will not take up much precious horizontal kitchen surfaces (counter-top area). Controls are user-friendly and not many competitors in this price-range have a digital display/timer. I wont say its whisper quiet but the fan isn't really loud either. I also like how the trays nest when you are not using it. As for performance it does exactly what it is supposed to do. Dried apple slices are delicious and healthy for you so, if you are considering a dehydrator do not be afraid to try the Prestro Dehydro. And get some extra trays also if you plan on consuming mass quantities!

Honest reviews on Presto 06301 Dehydro Digital Electric Food Dehydrator

I recently broke the Nesco American Harvest dehydrator that I have owned for many years. I dropped it when my dog tripped me. The model that I had isn't even made anymore so I started shopping for a new one. I use my dehydrator very often for a lot of different things. I know from experience exactly what temp I want and exactly how long to dehydrate things. The thing I loved most about my old Nesco dehydrator was the digital temp and timer and that is one thing I would not forgo in a new one. They

are a bit more money but they are much more accurate. Most of the ones for sale these days don't even have a timer and the

temp control is just a cheap dial.

My new Presto 06301 arrived on time and in perfect condition. I have already used it a couple times and I love it. It works

perfectly but it is a little on the noisy side. With the digital temp control and digital timer that's not really an issue for me because

I get everything ready to go in the evening, set the temp and timer and go to bed. When I get up in the morning I know that my

jerky or whatever I'm dehydrating is going to be done perfectly and I don't have to listen to it in my sleep.

For the money this is an excellent product and I highly recommend it to anyone who wants precise temp and an accurate digital timer.

Nice for the price, but, unfortunately very noisy, and, put out a lot of warm air so, I had to bring a small table into the far side of my kitchen to put it on because, up on my counter where I work, the noise made me crazy, and, the warm air blowing made me HOT!

I bought this electric fireplace at a local furniture store. Unfortunately, I paid $250 more plus had to haul it an hour home! The fireplace is made of solid wood and was packaged in two boxes. (Very HEAVY) The assembly directions were very clear and took my husband and I about 90 minutes to put it together.

The flame is relistic and I have received many compliments over this piece. I have a 55 inch TV that sits on the mantle and all of my electronic components fit nicely underneath. The additional glass front storage along side the firebox is wonderful for displaying collectibles or putting my DVDs away.

Do NOT expect to heat your whole house with this fireplace. It is SUPPLEMENTAL heat only. Heat flows out from the top of the box... my dogs enjoy laying on a rug in front of the fireplace! I also like that the heat is adjustable. The flame can be turned on with or without heat.

This fireplace may be a bit more expensive than others on the market, but well worth it!

Reviews of Aprilaire 700 Automatic Power Humidifier

Aprilaire 700 Automatic Power Humidifier
Customer Ratings: 4 stars

I purchased the Aprilaire 700 to replace the model 110 that quit working after 15 years. Several reviews said this was a good choice so I thought I'd give it a try.

Everything arrived in one box and the instructions were very clear. Since I was replacing an older power model, the wiring was already done for me but it looked easy enough. I did replace the water supply line which came with the new humidifier and had to cut a larger hole in the plenum and smaller hole in the return air supply for the humidistat.

In all, it took me about 2 hours to cut and fit the new one in. I did't use the outdoor temp. sensor because I prefer to use a manual setting. The unit has been operating flawlessly for a couple of months and the humidity in my house has risen to where it's much more comfortable. I'd recommend this unit.

We had an Aprilaire 700 system installed professionally, but the solenoid broke after two years. (the solenoid controls the water flow from your plumbing into the unit). This is the most powerful system Aprilaire makes, and was recommended for our house by the ARS professionals that installed it. The system never got our humidity over 30%, but in fact we have hardwood floors in about 1/6 of our house and lots of wood furniture, and about 3500 sq ft of floor space. The unit seems better suited for houses without much wood (floors and/or furniture) and certainly less than 3500 sq ft. Suitability aside, I'm not happy the solenoid, which is over $200 to replace/install, broke after less than two years. Unfortunately, we got only 1 year parts/labor on the unit.

Best Deals on Aprilaire 700 Automatic Power Humidifier

We purchased the 700 in 2004 and it has been nothing but a headache for us. The first two years the water panel wouldn't stay wet. The installer blamed it on the saddle attachement to the water pipe. He came out and cleaned the saddle and claimed it worked but we never had anything but dry air. About 2007 we had someone come out and tell us the panel holder doesn't distribute the water well and they came out with a new version that has fabric in it. Bought that and it helped for a year and the fabric came loose and had to buy another. (in addition to replacing the panel each season). Finally last year we had someone install a real valve to replace the saddle. Then this unit started pouring water all over the floor. Apparently the low-flowing saddle was masking other problems. Some low-flow, inlined device was broken. (read $.01 piece of plastic) I ordered a new hose for it and put it in. The new hose was so stiff that part of it broke on trying to install it. Duct tape helped hold it in place. Turn on the water and NOTHING... back to no water again and a dry panel = dry house. Generally this unit has me running to the furnace room every day since we owned it. It has never worked right despite having 3 different companies come out to service it. The general features of this thing that I don't like are:

water panel: I just don't believe that this puts as much water in the air as one could

fan: The fan is outside of the duct work blowing unconditioned air into the duct which is supposed to deliver humid air to the system. But I feel more air coming out than going in and isn't it reducing the heat in the duct by inserting cold basement air?

vent: The vent on this thing is a giant hole in the summer. The unit is off in the summer and the cold air just blows out. One may suggest that I leave this thing on all year and just turn off the water... that would help but the way these are wired is to turn on only when heat is asked for. We keep our house fan on all the time to balance the system and the 700 only comes on when heat is generated. So even in the winter, conditioned air is escaping through this unit.

water delivery: The pipe it goes through is entirely proned for error and anyone with harder water than us will suffer tremendously.

This is probably the worst house purchase we have made since 1998.

Honest reviews on Aprilaire 700 Automatic Power Humidifier

Good quality humidifer but requires a 120 VAC outlet so be prepared. Took a few minutes to understand exactly how the rear housing frame mates to the duct opening. Must install the humdifier controller in the return duct upstream from the fresh air intake which required rerouting my fresh air intake. Also installed the Aprilaire Model 8570 Thermostat using a separate 24 VAC transformer. My furnance could not supply enough current from it's 24 VAC humidifier accessory terminal to run the humidifier. Aprilaire recommends not using the accessory terminal when installing the Model 8570 Thermostat so I already purchased the 24 VAC transformer. Pleased with both the 8570 Thermostat and Model 700 Humidifer. Like the ability to monitor outdoor temperature and humidity from the thermostat, and automatically control humidifier operation based on outdoor temperature because I have wooden casement windows. You will need some skills to install this unit.

I got the automatic version of this for $229 w/shipping on another site. It took me an afternoon to install and so far works great. When I turned it on the relative humidity in my house was 25%, this morning I woke up to an "ideal" (given the outside temperature) level of 35%. One thing to consider though when choosing a humidifier is whether your furnace is over-sized for your house. If that is the case then the furnace will not run frequent enough for the humidifier to work (my furnace is pretty much perfectly sized for my home), in which case one of the newer steam units might be a better bet (or you could try hooking this one up to your hot water supply instead of the cold water).

One quick tip with installing it. The temperature sensor can actually be mounted inside the air intake pipe of your furnace (assuming you have a newish direct-vent model). You do need to mount it as close to the outside wall as possible to get an accurate reading but, by drilling a small hole in the pvc pipe and sticking the thermometer in it, you save yourself from having to drill a hole through the outside of your home.

I bought this from another retailer almost 9 years ago! Since then I've broken the freezer door off, but that's the only thing that has gone wrong. Every year or two you'll need to defrost the freezer, which is a pain. But that's not too bad considering the life of the product. The built-in can dispenser in the door is great and partially why I picked this model.

I bought this at Sears when I was in college. I was in college for six years, and I still have this baby in my room! It is an incredible value and it will last you forever! It holds LOTS of stuff and is as high as my bed! I recommend this for ALL dorm rooms and for anyone else in need of a personal fridge. It makes barely a peep and is reliable the entire way!

Best Deals on Danby Deluxe Mini Fridge with Freezer (4.3cu.ft.)

I bought this recently for 150 at the dept store with the 'bullseye' logo. I have the grey and black version. So far i'm happy with it as it does get cold enough to make ice in its mini-freezer compartment, and that was when i turned the temp control to the 2/3 setting(not even the max setting!). So make no mistake, it does get cold enough to make ice. If you're looking for a mini-fridge, temporary fridge, second fridge, single-person fridge, then this seems like a great value. I've only had it for a few weeks now, so i'll update my review if anything 'majorly bad' happens in the future(trust me, i'll be upset enough to come back and write a poor follow up if this fridge starts to breakdown in any way).

Finally, the energy guide. The energy guide included with the fridge says it uses 343 of 345kwh, and that its yearly operating costs is $28. That 343/345 is very high, but it says it is measured against other comparable fridges up to 4.4 cubic feet. This is a 4.3 cubic ft mini-fridge, so obviously it would be near the max. Other 4.3/4.4 mini-fridges use about the same amount of energy. And the Danby actually used about the same amount as a 3.3 cubic ft Avanti mini-fridge i was looking at. I don't have a bias towards one brand or the other(this ain't Ford vs Chevy, PS3 vs XBOX 360), simply just letting you know what the energy guide stats are. So compare and shop around before making a decision if this one is right for you. I have it, and think it's a good purchase(one of the biggest mini-fridges with a mini-freezer compartment!) and a good value(one of the cheapest prices for a mini-fridge).

(edit: almost 2 yrs later, still works fine. although i have to defrost a little more than i'd like to. also, you can't fit a large pizza box in this thing. just saying)

Honest reviews on Danby Deluxe Mini Fridge with Freezer (4.3cu.ft.)

I bought this refrigerator for my office 5 years ago. We have a tiny kitchen area and this fits easily under the counter. The freezer holds a couple of mini frozen dinners and is cold enough to make ice. We didn't notice any significant difference in our electric bills, but I didn't actually do the math, for those of you who are sticklers for that sort of thing.

The push-button defrost is nice, however I wouldn't put this refrigerator in a room that young children have access to. That red defrost button is a big temptation. When our office moved, someone's little one pushed that red button. By the time we noticed, the refrigerator was standing in a puddle of water.

Overall, this refrigerator is reliable, easy to clean and I would buy it again.

This console is one of my better purchases. We have a 37 inch television and it fits beautifully, as do hundreds of cds in the cabinetry down below. But the big deal is the electric fireplace, and do I have a good story to tell about this!

I put this cabinet together by myself with a minimum of expletives. Really, the instructions were quite clear, written by someone whose native language is English. And I had an electrician come and put in a separate circuit (15 amps) dedicated to this unit. (Don't even THINK of sharing this unit with another device on the same circuit: you'll blow your circuit breaker.) Well, it was summer, so I didn't turn on the fireplace. We use a pellet stove, and put this unit in the living room, which is furthest away from the stove, hence the coldest. Hoo boy was I disappointed to find that the stove didn't work. No way, no how, this stove was not functioning. So I emailed the company that makes it (Southern Enterprises) and they sent me, FREE, a replacement fireplace -and paid for the pickup of the dead unit. I was expecting a form letter back telling me that I had waited too long to tell them.

Given the quality of this unit, its stylishness, and its compact nature, everyone who comes over to our house wants to know where we got it. I happily tell them, and I recommend purchasing this unit without any hesitation. Great, great company, this Southern Enterprises.

I use several for space heaters to backup my furnace at my cottage. I have a phone out temperature monitor, that alerts me when I have a problem. However that device dosen't keep the temperature from dropping while I work to get the furnace fixed. This simple device does not need to be programmed. Simply turn the mechanical dial and watch the LCD display change to show the desired turn on temperature. The LCD display then reverts back to show current temperature. A very simple and reliable device for protecting my property.

Installed it three days ago and so far it appears to be working OK. It replaced the second of two "Honeywell Winter Watchman" thermostatic switches, which were utter junk; totally unreliable and erratic. Amazon should stop selling the Honeywell item. This replacement Dayton model is quite nice, as you may adjust its switch activation temperature upwards or downwards a degree at a time, and the Dayton model also displays both the temperature at which it is set to close the circuit, and the ambient, or background temperature it is sensing currently. Good design and appears robust construction.

Not only was it cheaper than other sites but it arrived very fast. My freezer was freezing up and I replaced the thermostat with this one and all is well now. The kit cam with two different mounting and one worked well with my fridge. The wires were very long so no matter what installation they would have been long enough, I just cut them a little to match the length of the old unit. The thing even came with crimp connectors and hear shrink tubing.

easy to install as well.

The fridge is working fine now and I saved a ton of money because I fixed it myself.

Replaced it with the Defrost timer at the same time.

Best Deals on Frigidaire 5303917954 Thermostat -Defrost

Out of the blue my fridge started acting up and eventually nothing would stay cold! After some research I figured out it was a defrost issue, but I didn't know which item needed fixing. I was just about to call for repair...but after finding out what it costs to have someone come up to the house just to look at the fridge I decided to buy the thermostat AND the defrost timer and replace them both (I tested the heating coil with a multi-meter so I knew that was OK).

For $25 I got both parts (and most of that was shipping b/c I expedited it), they arrived in 2 days, it took 25 minutes at max to replace both items and the fridge has worked perfectly for over a month.

You'd be silly not to go this route if you know you have a defrost issue...brand new parts for less than half the cost of a service call, let alone what they would charge you for the parts, etc.

And word to the wise...just go ahead and order both the timer and the thermostat I replaced the timer first and the thermostat went a few days later...better to just replace both at the same time IMO.

This worked great for Thanksgiving. It cooked our Turkey in half the time a regular oven would take, leaving the meat moist.

The "burn in" only took about an hour, not a big deal.

The lid and roaster pan are coated metal, which lifts out for easy cleaning.

Click Here For Most Helpful Customer Reviews >>

I have a Nesco Roaster that I purchased at least 12 years ago. I loved it!! It was great for turkeys, ribs, stew, beans, anything!! The only reason I was replacing it was because the Teflon coating was starting to come off and the roaster was getting "hot spots". The lid had seen better days, and... well, it was just tired! The roaster I ordered was the same as my old one so I expected many years of use and enjoyment. I was soooo wrong! I received the roaster and it was very cheaply made. The lid was thinner and the metal was ripply. After two hours of "airing" it out, the smell pretty much was gone but still noticeable. I figured, oh well, nothing is made as well as it used to be made and proceeded to wash the roaster so I could use it for dinner. I didn't want to use it the first time for Thanksgiving and have any surprises! It's a good thing!! I made Teriyaki chicken tenders with vegetables. EVERYTHING stuck to the sides, to the point that it took major scrubbing to get it off, even after soaking over night. I was a bit surprised but figured I would have to live with it. The deal breaker occurred when I was cooking the chicken and tried to remove the lid. It wouldn't budge. When I finally pried the lid off, the paint from the lid had melted onto the roaster, fusing the two together. The burning paint stunk to high Heaven and is permanently on the edge of the roaster. Though the roaster pan and the lid seem to have bonded, the same is not true for me. It's going back! Paint that melts when heated can't be safe. So disappointing and so sad!! :(

I purchased by first Nesco oven from QVC about 12 years ago...still works after all this time! I absolutely loved it then and still do. It cooks meat like no other oven I have ever used. The first thing I used it for was to roast a ham. It was so juicy and moist that I NEVER cook ham any other way. I used it to bake an apple pie because I had run out of room in my ovens... I thought okay it will just have to be browned in the conventional oven... NOT true.. the crust baked and browned beautifully. I use it for everything.

This is a great product that can be used for ANYTHING you would use a normal oven for. I bought another one last year because it is such a wonderful product. This year they will both get used!!!

First off, to the 50% of the people that are complaining or gave low rating on this because it was too complicated to install or wifi was too complicated to setup, or the fact that because it requires a 5th wire (C wire) that its garbage, I dont know what to tell you folks. Before getting all bent out of shape, why not understand how the thing works.

First off yes you need a 5th wire, mainly to power the wifi module, without it, you cannot expect 3 AA batteries to power a wifi module endlessly for years. It would barely last 6hrs on the AA batteries. Most furnances have C wires, many times they are not wired up because none of the older thermostats ever needed it, they were always operated by battery or worse you had an old school round mercury based one. So as long as the installer ran the wire and tucked away the unused ones, its nothing but untucking that wire, attaching it, going to the furnace and attaching that end also to the C terminal. DONE!

2ndly, the wifi is somewhat of a complicated setup but the reason is that it has to be provisioned with Filtretes servers/cloud. Almost all things of this nature (even my iAqualink pool control module) was like this. You have to undertand that all your devices inside a house will be private IP addresses not accessible through the public/internet side. So the only way around this is to setup a cloud and have the devices periodically talk back to the cloud. If you follow the directions, getting wifi to work using the Andrioid App or iPhone/iPad is a joke. I provisioned them in minutes. I have 4 of these in my house and I wasnt pulling my hair out. You simply directly connect to the thermostat's wifi SSID, initially setup your wifi's SSID and encryption key, let it reboot the thermostat, then go back to the Thermostat app and it will finish off adding the thermostat to your account.

Lastly, for those saying it cannot directly communicate with the thermostat? Uh.... think again, it does. If you phone for exmaple is on wifi in your house and you launch the thermostat App, it will directly talk to each thermostat, not to the cloud. So you adjust the temperature, it will within few seconds update and activate. The cloud communication is used primarily if you are not on the same network, like out at the mall/store or another state.

This also has open APIs you can use to program logging applications, etc. You can easily also program the GeoFencing concept of having it know when you are say 3miles within radius of the house and have it automatically move it out of away mode and back into heat/cool mode. Take a look at Filtrete's forums, its full of info on stuff like this, all of which is open source.

So for between my house (4 of these 3M50s, and my parents house (two of them)), everything works great.

Installation took me roughly 30 minutes, including WiFi setup. I am experienced with networking, however if I were not, I don't see how this odd WiFi setup process could have worked! Instead of providing ad-hoc WiFi and a DHCP server, wouldn't WPS be much easier and more applicable? Press a button on router, press a button on thermostat, done.

Since this implementation also assumes that the customer already has a computer or iPhone with WiFi support, the customer that comes home from the store with a WiFi router and thermostat to connect to their broadband connection is going to be disappointed -and the router and thermostat are all that should be necessary. And to back up the critical review, the cloud should be an enhancement, not a requirement -if it has an HTTP server, build a local interface!

The design is also a bit quirky -the top, bottom, and sides have way too much clearance (depth) from the wall, and the wire routing is odd. The self-adhesive "wire cover" doesn't cut it at all. The captive screw contacts are too close to the top of the LCD and you must be very careful not to nick the plastic. The recessed installation screw holes are a pain. I almost want to cut a square hole in my wall just to recess the unit!

However, even with the flaws, this is cool (or hot, ha) functionality for $100. Since the mode selection is auto/cool/heat, it appears that I just upgraded to automatic switching between cool/heat, which would be useful in the spring when the outdoor temperature goes haywire.

Best Deals on 3M Filtrete Wi-Fi Smartphone Enabled Remote Programmable 7-Day

A little difficult to install (running the additional C wire was a challenge). Once installed the thermostat controls as required and allows access remotely. This is very useful in lowering the air conditioning a few hours before arriving at a remote location. The house temperature in Texas has been checked from Australia by smart phone and iPad!

Honest reviews on 3M Filtrete Wi-Fi Smartphone Enabled Remote Programmable 7-Day

I almost let the reviews scare me away from the product but I am glad I actually went ahead and bought it on closeout at Home Depot.

Install was straightforward. I would not call it easy, and I would not call it complex. I am just a normal guy with no real experience with these sorts of things, but the manual explained everything very easily and I had the hardware disconnected and reconnected in half an hour.

The software install is very logical with your wireless router system. If you follow the online manual, it works perfectly. Just make sure to write down the codes when it tells you to.

I was able to install the app on my Android phone (Galaxy S3) and it works flawlessly.

I am very happy with the scheduling options and I've put it to the test already. It works great and I'm looking forward to more consistent comfortable temperatures and lower energy bills in my home.

I have one of these in our two homes. They work great!

The only draw back, as others have written, is wifi setup is tricky. You also must have power to the thermostat from the A/C or furnace to use wifii. If not you have to supply power via an inexpensive transformer. Both of my air conditioner units had power to the thermostat via what is referred to as a "C" wire. Once set up its a pleasure.

I've been using them for over a year and they are rock solid so far.

I never ever go to the actual thermostat any more as I always use my iPhone or iPad app to control.

You can monitor temp, change temp settings, switch from cool to heat from anywhere in the world as long as you have Internet or smart phone connectivity.

First one did not oscillate so had a new replacement sent to me which works fine.

Has the following modes -

Low: low speed fan with heat (900 watts)

high: high speed fan with heat (1500 watts)

fan: high speed fan without heat so you can use it on the summertime

auto: you set the temperature (50-86F in 2 degree increments) and the heater turns on/off when it's 2 degrees below/above the set temperature.

Remembers mode when power is off unless it's unplugged then it returns to default. Plug is polarized (two-prong).

Has an OSC button so unit can oscillate (left to right) and a timer to keep unit on for a duration of 1-8 hours in 1 hour increments.

Has air inlet grill with filter that can be easily removed and cleaned.

Has a tip over safety switch on the bottom. When the unit is tipped, it automatically shuts off.

There is a hand slot near top to move unit.

Remote control has OSC, Set Time, Temp +/-, Mode, and Power. Needs two AAA batteries not included.

Anytime you press a button, even for each increment you change the temperature, it makes a loud beep. Wish you could turn that sound off or made the sound much quieter.

The heater I ordered because mine went out and I went to all local stores and everybody just had a sale on them so they didn't have any in the surrounding towns of me at all! I looked up heaters on Amazon.com found this one was a little sketchy about the product for the price comparing to my last buys on heaters from local stores. Package came in fairly quick. Once opened up and plugged in it was instantly blowing out warm air in a cold room. The features are good just wished it had a auto timer to turn it on like my others do. Overall this is a awesome heater and am thinking about ordering another for another room. It heats my living room and kitchen area pretty good here in Louisiana when it is in the 30's i can stay comftorable. So it is a better product then the other few I have!

Problems:

Loud beep when timer mode ends which always wakes me up. Why would they do that?

In automatic thermostat mode it goes on and off but only with the high speed fan setting. So the heating is loud and not gentle. Why wouldnt they employ the lower fan setting for simply mainting a room's heat?

The thermostat is crude. It is built into the unit which makes it innacurate and constantly fluctuating depending on whether its on or not. The heater heats up past the temp you set it at so you get fairly wide swings in temperature. Employing the low setting in auto mode could have mitigated this but apparently they didnt want to bother.

Most annoying of all, the oscillation isn't silent. It makes a tiny little clicking sound when it reaches the end of one direction and begins moving in the opposite. It's just loud enough that I can hear it from my bed a few feet away and it drives me crazy because it isn't a constant "white" noise.

The remote control needs a backlit lcd readout so you dont need to be five feet away from the unit to see what mode, temp, timer, etc. it is using.

Lastly the unit never seems to stop offgasing. After using it for weeks it still creates that distinct plasticy heater smell. Maybe its the ceramic element and not the housing. Whatever it is, it gives the impression of toxic voc's.

I wonder if the Swiss and Germans settle for this poorly designed Chinese stuff like Americans do? Three stars because it works and there is certainly worse out there, but I will probably be returning it. Target 90 day return policy even if purchased online. Wake up amazon!! You're falling behind.

Honest reviews on SPT Tower Ceramic Heater with Thermostat

I purchased this heater less than one year ago. The thermostat has been wildly inaccurate since after the first month of use. It began with not turning on on the automatic setting (this is the main reason I purchased this item too so it is extremely annoying that that function went out first) Then it started making a strange noise as it oscillates. Now it has degraded to the point that it won't turn on at all on the automatic setting due to the thermostat inaccuracy, it shuts off immediately on the high setting, and if i try to turn it on to low it runs for about 2 minutes before the thermostat says it is 89 degrees in the room and it turns off for the safety setting. I'm freezing and i'm extremely angry that i wasted 70 dollars on this useless hunk of junk.

I purchased this item to help heat the downstairs family room which can get particlarly chilly in the winter time. So far it has definitely helped on that front. The oscillating feature is a plus and the fan is relatively quiet. It also comes equipped with a remote and an easy to read display. I recommend this product.

I was wanting another thermostat to replace my manual one, mainly because I wanted to save some money. I never quite knew with my old one exactly what temperature it was. I researched a "lot" of these programmable ones and selected the Honeywell because it had the rhythm of our lifestyle. My wife and I work during the day so we leave at 7:30 and get get home around 3:00. So Monday Friday it's pretty much the same, so that took care of the (5) programmable days. However, Saturday and Sunday are completely different so having a programmable (1) + (1) was perfect. Just read the directions for daily settings of the wake, day, or sleep temperature schedules. Every day has (3) different settings, so be sure you understand that and program it accordingly. Also this is a cool feature, if you don't like what you're getting for that time period (too cool, too warm etc) just hit the UP or DOWN arrow button and it indicates the temperature you want and then it's set for that time period whether waker, day, or sleep mode. Easy, clear directions to install from your old to new unit.

I have spent much more for 7 day programmable thermostats, but this combination of 5-1-1 meet our needs, since we are open the same hours on weekdays, and cosst much less than a 7 day thermostat. Most of all, you don't need to program 7 days, just 3 saving a lot of time.

I researched dehydrators for almost 3 months before making a purchase, and asked a LOT of people what features they liked or disliked about their dehydrator. I discovered that the round ones, although seemingly popular (and cheaper) will not dry evenly because the fan is at the bottom, so if you have too many things on the bottom it will not let the proper amount of air above to dry the things on the upper levels which is a MAJOR drawback! Also lots of the smaller kinds of dehydrators do not have self-timers, which I really wanted because when you're drying something for anywhere from 8 to 24 hours, you don't want to have to remember to check on it to turn it off! Another thing some people mentioned were that some smaller types can be quite noisy, which I wanted to try to avoid as much as possible. There were a few other drawbacks to the smaller and/or cheaper models, but I can't remember them now as it's been several months. One of the things that really caught my attention on the Excalibur was the fact that many people had them from the 70's and they are STILL running reminds me of a Kitchenaid mixer...

SO I finally decided that an Excalibur would work best, as they have built-in timers, a very varied temperature range, and the fan is located in the back of the dehydrator instead of at the bottom (which someone has already mentioned). I was also very happy to discover that the trays are dishwasher safe, and very easy to wipe down, otherwise, as well! Well, I finally broke down and clicked the 'purchase' button, and ever since then it's been no regrets!

I have used and used and used my dehydrator for 6 months now and I still have not run into one thing that I dislike about it! It's not very noisy at all my family often mistakes it for a small fan or the air conditioner blowing. I LOVE the self timer and I don't think I could ever live without it! I can put something in when I go to bed and not have to wake up at 6AM to keep it from over-drying. I just set the timer and 'click': off it goes! I have used it for a whole week, 24 hours a day, 7 days in a row, once before and it ran fine and kept a consistent temperature. My model came with 2 Paraflexx sheets included, and I love those as well, although in some cases I believe wax paper or parchment paper would do just as well.

I have used this to dry rawfoods recipes (although I'm not a rawfoodist, I do enjoy the recipes!), for fruit leathers, made some veggie 'chips', made some strawberry-banana granola, to re-crisp stale chips, to preserve produce that is going bad from the fridge, to make yogurt, to dry sprouted beans and grains... I'm sure there's more... :-) Once you dehydrate something you will be hooked!

Trust me if you purchase any Excalibur dehydrator you will not be disappointed in any way!

I appreciate that this model blows air from the back of the racks. This ensures that food dries quickly, thoroughly, and safely. Other styles blow air from the bottom, therefore up through the layers, creating moist air conditions at the top racks. I don't trust that for safe food preservation. This unit is fast, fast, fast! And it is easy to clean. The fruit/veggies maintain beautiful colors and flavors. Highly recommend this unit.

I bought this dehydrator to make SCD yoghurt and crispy nuts (soaked and dehydrated). Both come out perfect. It is easy to remove trays to place pint jars inside. It does run a little loud from the corner of the kitchen in our 1200 sq ft apartment, but if we could plug it in somewhere a bit more out of the way, we wouldn't notice it.

Honest reviews on Excalibur 2500ECB 5-Tray Economy Dehydrator, Black

I've never owned a dehydrator before so this is my first experience with one. Does the job well enough, but it is, in my opinion, too loud. And it's not just the hum of the fan/motor, the plastic case vibrates significantly enough that it makes a buzzing sound. I live in an apartment with the living/dining/kitchen rooms open to each other. If I run this thing in the kitchen I have to turn my TV up quite a bit from what I usually have it set at. So, I put it in the bathroom, but even there it's very noticeable.

And I'm one who actually likes to have some background "noise" going on. I have tinnitus (ringing in the ears) and keep a fan running in my bedroom at night to mask the noise in my head. But this dehydrator is just annoying to use. Which is a shame, because I really like the results it gives.

I've done some searching and reading and discovered that others have had this problem. It seems to be a random thing. Some units are quieter than others which means there are issues with quality control.

I dried some tomatoes and green peppers today. They came out great, but good grief... it's such a relief to finally turn the thing off after 12 hours that I'm not exactly in a hurry to use it again.
