I picked this part up because my house was hit by lightning. I looked at this part on my kenmore stove, and it looked burnt in spots. So I figured that's why my oven was not working. Replaced with this thermostat, and it fixed the problem.

I bought this part to replace the thermostat on my GE XL44 oven. However, the part shipped DOES NOT match the image for this product.

The item I received had the control knob in the *center*, rather than on the top of the switch, meaning it doesn't actually fit or line up in the oven properly.

With some tin snips and a bit of ingenuity I was able to get it wedged in there and functioning, but I wanted to warn other buyers before they make the same mistake.

Of course, the packaging states that once opened, the item can't be returned.

Recently experienced some winter power outages & realized a dire need for some 'peace-of-mind' during any future episodes! Consequently, this came in handy yesterday 12-19-2011, when the furnace happened to fail out! I am in the White Mountain range, and it was only 9 degrees when this happened; this little guy kept us from freezing to death, literally! BTW, i am in a 2000+ sq. foot home, 2 level, so even though that's much more space than this one is actually capable of heating, the heat naturally moved upstairs & throughout the house & kept it 'livable', regardless! ;) This unit provides more than enough heat to 'camp-out' & survive a no-heat situation comfortably for probably up to 1000sq. feet in a pinch, if it's not too, TOO cold out! ;) The heater does EXTREMELY well, is VERY efficient (around 99.7%!), and a perfect emergency-type or 'supplemental' heating source. It is NOT recommended as a primary heat source as it is NOT vented and even illegal for use in some states (Massachusetts) because of this, so check w/ your state laws 1st before ordering...Note: this unit should NOT be used in a bathroom or bedroom, only a 'primary' (and open!) living space/quarters!...

When you order this heater, be sure to get an appropriate regulator assembly/hose to go with it, as the pressure needs to be 'stepped-down' to 11-13WC, or around 1/2 to 1 PSI in normal human speaking terms! ;) It is NOT meant to be connected directly to the LP gas supply (like you would a natural gas system) without incoming gas pressures first being regulated down; it will blow the valve system & would NOT be covered under any warranties! :P ...

As this unit is VENT-FREE...just for peace of mind for you 'worry-wart' type people (like me!), I would wholeheartedly recommend the use of a reputable carbon monoxide detector in the home this is to be used to protect you & your loved-ones from any dangers...the unit IS equipped w/ an ODS system, that will automatically shut the unit down if there not enough available oxygen (for you!) in the room it is operating, so that helps ease some worries!...Just so you know, my heater is operating in the downstairs 1000 sq. feet living space, in a 10x15 living-room, CO detector @ farthest wall from heater; it's a KIDDE Nighthawk digital CO detector Kidde KN-COPP-3 Nighthawk Plug-In Carbon Monoxide Alarm with Battery Backup and Digital Display (VERY good!) & has registered ZERO '0' ppm since firing up the heater in the same room! not too shabby! ;)...my detector also has the 'explosive gas' detector built in as well, which comes in REAL handy when dealing w/ LP (propane) gas, as it heavier than air, sinks low, & tends to 'pool' up in lower or enclosed spaces, just waiting for a spark! :O Natural gas is a lil' bit 'friendlier', 'cause when it leaks off, it is lighter than air, & tends to float up, intermingling w/ other air & usually finding places to dissipate & escape with other heated air leaving the home! ;)

Just a bit of info regarding a specific feature on this unit (and actually one of the reasons I chose this model over the other brands!) is a unique digital temperature readout display on the top right corner of the housing, where the thermostat control is located; you can see a pic of it in image two @ the top of the page...Well, this particular feature is NOT included with this unit. I have contacted Mr. Heater regarding this feature and why it is missing...they explained that, although it was a really nice feature to have, customers were 'getting confused' as to what it was & how it related to heater operation???...O-kaay?...so that feature has been omitted from ALL 2011 built units as of January, 2011. This includes ALL units, both LP and natural gas, infrared AND blue-flame units included; SO, if you really appreciated (& wanted!) this feature like I did, the only way to obtain it is to find a 2010 (last years model) unit in somebody's 'old-stock' in their warehouse...I have not had any leads...good luck! >:(

I suppose it's not that important, but I thought it was a handy & useful feature to have w/ a heater...I mean, practically ALL those little ceramic heaters now run on digital temp controls & readouts now too, right!?! :O Consequently, all the pics and descriptions for any of the newer 20-30k BTU units of this nature including the digital temps are incorrectly advertised & need to be updated as such to reflect the omission of this nifty lil' feature... :(

CONS:

Fan unit not very powerful, & slightly on the loud side, a little quieter than a hairdryer on 'low' setting; doesn't move much heat, but the radiant heat helps w/ that issue on it's own! ;) ...it CAN however be set to 'ON' or 'AUTO' or OFF! (which is nice when you don't want to hear it!), AND it is automagically turned on by heat & cuts out when the heater cools down, so no 'human-thought' required when using! :)

Has the ability to burn up fuel pretty quick if you leave it up 'high' for a quite awhile...of course it WAS only 10 degrees! bbbrrrr! :O

Unit REALLY stinks when you use it 1st time, burning off paints/oil/new stuff...recommend burning OUTSIDE for awhile HOT to burn off the bad smelling stuff & 'cure' the unit before indoor use (I didn't have a choice!) :(

Kinda misleading pics/description regarding the digital temp display feature, should be updated to reflect this issue

FYI...vent-free units are VERY efficient heaters, HOWEVER, one important snippet of knowledge that most don't know, or are not usually told about, is the fact that these types of heaters have the capacity to release up to a QUART (32oz) of water vapor into your house while in operation (burning); this is due to the fact that there is no venting for the exhaust gases to escape...hence your awesome efficiency is ALSO the culprit of unneeded water vapor...BUT, this is somewhat negated by the fact that a heater is most likely used in the Winter (cold!) months...humidity levels are usually alot lower in the Winter, and as a result, most people usually choose to add water to their homes (humidifiers, steam pots on the wood-stove, etc.)during these times anyway to help reduce chapped hands & lips, dry skin, & lowering the chance of catching a cold, sore throat or getting sick! So the extra moisture could actually be seen as a 'PRO' depending on how you view it!...too much moisture in the home can obviously be a problem as well! :P

...All in all, I find ALOT of positive benefits regarding this heater & it also works really well for what it was designed to do (possibly heating even better than it was rated by sq footage!)...I would totally recommend this heater for anyone needing a back-up emergency or supplemental heat source for not really alot of money @ all! Geez, very economical in fact compared to 'commercially' available installs/solutions! It's 'The Great Lil' Heater that Could!' & does the job very nicely, thank you!

Purchased this product just after Christmas. It was a replacement for an older 15,000 BTU unit that wasn't enough to heat my older mobile home. This unit put out a lot of heat. For the first few weeks I really liked it. But, in less than three weeks it completely burned up the top cowling just above the center of the heating blocks. It looks like the top cowling sags a little in the center and is very close to the flame. Don't know if it is a design issue or just a unit that was not put together well. Returned it to Amazon. May try another one next winter.

We bought this to provide some temporary heat in the first floor of our house while going through a major renovation here in central New Hampshire. The space is 30 x 40 with a 12 x 12 mudroom. It is about 90% insulated and has 8 foot ceilings.

So far, we're very happy with the unit. It lights easily and the heat is pretty even across the space, although we only have a couple partitions up right now. The unit is also very quiet and other than a VERY faint odor from the propane, you would hardly know it was there. My installer used his CO detector (professional grade) after the unit ran for about two hours and it registered zero. I also installed a digital CO detector close to the floor about 20 feet from the unit as a precaution. So far, it has not registered any CO at all.

My only complaint with the unit is that the thermostat's lowest setting corresponds to about 60 degrees. I was aware of this when I purchased the unit, and it isn't a huge problem. However, since we are only looking for something to "take the chill off" and keep our plumbing from freezing, a lower setting would be ideal...perhaps 50 degrees.

I don't think you will find a less expensive, easy to install, efficient, and quiet way to heat a fairly large space.

I got this item for $150 (plus $50 shipping) when the list price was $320. It arrived on time and is made of high quality materials no flimsy shelves, etc. Not exactly sure what thermoelectric is in a technical sense, but it's certainly quiet. I put a fridge thermometer inside and it stays within 2 degrees of the digital setting (digital setting is 62, thermometer is 60). The reflective glass and interior light make for a sleek look. I'd definitely buy this product again.

I did extensive research on which wine cellar to buy and was quite confused! Some were too expensive or too large for the space I wanted to put this in. Chose to go with this Supentown cellar because it was compact, had the right temperature range for red wines, and was priced right. Didn't care for dual zone cellars because I don't store whites. So far this seems to be a pretty decent cellar specially given the price.

The good:

it's compact, looks MUCH better in person than the picture posted here

easy to set up, plug and play

has 5 shelves for 4 bottles each

temperature can be controlled from the outside with digital controls (ranges from 54 degrees to I think 62 degrees)

has a blue light on the inside that can be operated from the outside (looks nice, but not very useful)

perfect size for some like me who's not looking to go crazy on a large professional grade cellar, but still cares abut the select wines purchased

shelves are removable but this doesn't serve any purpose because removing even 2 shelves will not allow for a larger bottle to be stored vertically (a bottle shouldn't be stored vertically anyway)

reasonably quiet. It does have a hum to it that takes a day or so to get used to.

price is unbeatable for a good looking small-medium sized cellar

The not so good:

The shelves are perhaps just an inch too close to each other. I personally don't think they are flimsy, they are fairly standard and hold up well when the cellar is fully loaded. However, they do seem to feel heavy if a heavy bottle is inserted. So far they seem to be holding up fine.

This is a lightweight portable wine cellar. If only the top shelf is loaded with bottles and lower shelves are empty, I fear that it will topple. I make it a point to keep the weight evenly distributed with an extra bottle in the bottom shelf. I see another reviewer mentioned they have this on an IKEA coffee table NOT a good idea!!

Others have already pointed out that it doesn't accommodate Burgundy style bottles unless you remove a shelf.

No humidity control. Now this is not really a negative for this product I didn't expect it for this price, and most such cellars, even the expensive ones, don't include humidity control. It's just a feature that would have been awesome to have. It would make this a much longer term solution to storing wines.

When installing this for the first time, I noticed a strong plastic smell as soon as I opened the door maybe from the packaging. Left the door open (not connected to power) for an hour and the smell was mostly gone. Connected it and set the temperature to 58 degrees. It went from the initial reading of 68 degrees to 58 degrees in about 2.5 hours. Once this temperature was reached, I loaded it up at this time.

All in all this is a great portable, inexpensive wine cellar with storage for 20 bottles that is just the right size for my needs.

UPDATE 08/22/13 After having used this for almost a year, I still recommend this product highly. It is working great. The only thing I thought of pointing out is that in the event of a power failure, the unit will restore itself to 54 degrees once power is restored. Remember to turn the temperature back up to your desired setting after such an event.

First the good I've had it a month and seems well made, is compact and quiet, styling is minimalist, just a black cube, and the temperature control is easy to set. The interior LED light seems unnecessary (it is controlled by a button on the front, not by opening the door) but looks good if you have the cooler on display. As you can see from the published dimensions, it is compact so not very convenient on the floor; it really needs to be raised for ease of access and not having counter space I bought a $8 (yes, that's eight dollars, or $7.99 to be precise) coffee table from IKEA to put it on.

Then the not so good: yes, it is quiet but it does make a very soft moaning noise when cooling not a problem for me but could be for some.

But things you really need to know about before you purchase:

1. It does not remember the set temperature if it loses power, but resets to 52 degrees. I don't want to keep wine that cold, just want to control temperature fluctuations, and I keep it set to 60 degrees so a bottle of red is (almost) drinkable straight out of the cooler. Something to be aware of if you have frequent power outages.

2. And the big one only Bordeaux-style bottles (or smaller) fit. A few Burgundy-style bottles can be squeezed in one or two per shelf but the overall width is too narrow for a full shelf of four bottles, but some bottles are too big to fit at all without removing a shelf and reducing the number of bottes it can hold. I can live with that, storing mostly Bordeaux, but this would be a fatal flaw for many prospective purchasers and it does seem a pity when an extra inch in height and width would make such a difference.

So overall I am pleased and would buy it again great value for money but if you want to store many Burgundy-style bottles think again.

I've had mine in use for over a year now, and am very happy with it. Mind you, I'm not a wine snob, and really did not want to spend much money on a wine fridge. I bought this precisely because, although I keep "better" wines around for special purposes, I normally look for gems in the bottom and middle shelves. Consequently, I have had some of my "better" wines go bad in the past because I did not properly store them and forgot to drink them. I had thought about a wine fridge in the past, done some research, and generally thought they were too costly to be worthwhile for me.... Until an immediate need developed : I dropped in at a local Vintner to buy a couple bottles of my favorite Zin, and was informed that he only had a few cases left.

The wire racks feel a bit flimsy, and the slots are a bit small. Fully filling the unit with twenty of the "normal" bottles I buy is not possible my case of Zin pretty much had this thing at capacity. Having cleared some space over the last year, I have not yet come across a more or less normalish wine bottle I could not jam in there one way or another. The flex in the racks actually works in your favor for this. I even managed to get some chianti in without taking the silly straw off.

It took a day or so the first time, but once all of the wine was brought down to temp, the temperature stabilized, and the unit has been quiet. Even during the initial cool down period, the noise was tolerable. This is not because I have a high tolerance for fan noise I'm one of those people who uses power tools to reduce computer noise. If I had to put up with the initial noise level on a constant basis, I may have eventually pulled the dremel out, but it has not bothered me since.

Set at 54F, the fridge thermometer I bought to verify the temperature reads from 56-58F, depending on exactly where I place it. I have checked for, but never noticed any variation at the same spot. Adding a few bottles will obviously unset this balance, raise the ambient temp slightly, and cause the unit to do some work but after a few hours, it returns to normal.

All in all, there are limits on capacity, but the temperature control is good enough for my limited purposes, the unit has been reliable for a year, the noise level is tolerable, it looks good, and it cost about half as much as any other unit I looked at. That's a good deal in my book, and I'm happy I risked it with this model. There were barely any reviews when I picked it up, and I'm happy to see others are having the same good experience.

I bought this heater to use in place of a combination of forced-air and electric heat. I have only been using this heater for a little over a week, but so far I love it!

I did the installation myself, following the instructions which I found adequately detailed. It didn't take more than a few hours and most of that time was spent buying and installing the necessary gas fittings needed to tap into the existing LP line. Note that there are several gas fittings (not included) required to be installed at the heater connection. These include a union, tee, several nipples, a cutoff valve, and a sediment trap, which can be made with a nipple and cap. This is all explained in the instructions. All the gas fittings, pipe dope, and the 12-foot LP supply line needed for my installation ended up costing an extra $62 at the local hardware store.

The installation instructions explain that the propane supply must have a pressure of 11 to 14 inches of water. The regulator (Marshall Model 230) on my existing supply line met this requirement, so tapping into the line downstream from the regulator worked fine.

Although my living space is just 275 sq. ft., I chose this heater over the smaller 10k BTU KWP122 (which is rated for spaces up to 300 sq. ft.), because this is an older dwelling with single pane windows and loses heat fairly rapidly. I wanted to make sure I had enough heating power to keep up with that, as well as thinking this one would warm the space up faster when first turned on than a lower BTU model.

So now to the actual heater usage. I usually sleep with no heat, so when I awake in the morning it can be quite cold, sometimes as low as the upper 30s. It typically takes 1 to 2 hours for this heater to bring the temperature up to 70. As an example, starting at 35 degrees outside and 38 inside, it took one hour and 50 minutes to bring the temperature up to 70. Sometimes I use another portable heater at the same time to speed up this process, turning it off once a comfortable temperature is reached. That cuts the time in half, but it really isn't necessary when it's only moderately cold to start with. For some reason, maybe due to the infrared heat being projected out into the room, it feels more comfortable at a lower temperature with this heater than it did with my conventional forced-air furnace.

One minor complaint is that it is necessary to fool with the thermostat initially to determine what setting is comfortable. It's just a dial with numbers from 1 to 5, so you have to determine what the corresponding temperature is by trial and error. I've found that setting it just barely above 2 is close to 70 degrees. Too bad there isn't a remote, digital thermostat, which would be much more accurate. I still think it's better than having a model without a thermostat, since that would be "on" continuously, even if it was on low.

The piezo ignition is not automatic. You have to push a button on top of the heater to make it spark. It is rather loud when you do this, so if you have to push it repeatedly due to the gas not having reached the heater yet it might be a little annoying to some. It doesn't really bother me but I thought I would mention it.

I also installed a carbon monoxide detector just for peace of mind. It has not alarmed at all with the use of this heater.

I've noticed that some of Amazon's images of the KWP196 are incorrect. The 15k BTU models like this one have three heating panels, not two. The 10k BTU models such as the KWP122 have two panels.

I am keeping track of my propane usage and as soon as I have something to report on that I will update this review.

UPDATE after 3 weeks of usage Here are the numbers on my propane usage. Area being heated is approximately 275 square feet, single-pane windows, not well insulated. When running I keep one window cracked open about a quarter of an inch, as well as one roof vent cracked open about the same.

Average propane used per hour of usage: 0.11 gallons

28% of the time the heater was burning continuously, bringing the room temp up to 70 degrees.

72% of the time the heater was cycling on and off to maintain the temperature at 70.

The average inside temperature was 49 when the heater was first lit.

The average amount of time it took the heater to raise the inside temperature to 70 (without using the additional portable heater) was 1 hour and 45 minutes.

Average outside temperature when heater was first started was 42.

Average outside temperature when inside temperature reached 70 was 46.

Thirteen gallons of propane lasted 21 days, average usage of almost 6 hours per day.

Conclusion: I really like this little heater. And it appears it's going to save me some money over using the forced-air furnace combined with electric heat, as I did formerly. Although my propane usage has doubled when compared to a similar period last year, propane is now my only heating fuel whereas last year I used it only to bring the room temperature up in the morning, then used electric heat the rest of the time to maintain the temperature. My electric usage has dropped by 64%.

/UPDATE 08-02-2013/ After a year and 9 months of usage the heater is still working fine. No issues. Always fires right up, except when I've had the gas turned off at the source for a long time. Then it takes about 5 minutes for it to reach the heater again when the gas is turned back on. But that's not the heater's fault.

I bought this heater to save money instead of running the furnace in my motorhome. I hook it to a 5 gal propane tank inside the coach and it keeps the whole coach warm. The thermostat works great. I bought 2 legs that bolt on the bottom to make it free standing. This model radiates heat and is a lot better than the blue flame model. Well worth the money. This size is plenty of heat in a 40' motorhome.

I would not recommend this product. Due the fact,that the write up and product information is not totally correct. Deerso, the seller of this product, after several attempts has yet to return any correspondence that I have tried with them. when contacting World Marketing the distributor they explained to me that The operating pressures stated are not correct. I then had to purchase a second regulator to handle the increased pressure. I then had to pay a second service call charge to have it installed and adjust. THIS PRODUCT IS NOT REPRESENTED VERY WELL. THE SELLER DEERSO HAS NEVER CONTACTED ME AFTER NUMEROUS TRIES, TO BACK UP THEIR PRODUCT. I FEEL THIS COMPANY SHOULD BE BANNED FROM SELLING ANYTHING ON AMAZON.

This product is fitting the bill in my 600 sq ft space I have it in. Pretty easy to install except that many fittings were needed. I paid about $100 extra to install it...mind you I ran copper pipe over about 12 ft and had to connect it to existing lines using a flaring tool and fasteners, etc. All in all though, the thermostat seems to work good and it does it's job. I'm pleased.

This heater ( or very similar from Patton) seems to have been around for a very long time. My father who is 96 actually did use this heater in the milk-house. Besides the nostalgia factor this heater does a good job for what it is designed to do, which is to put out safe heat. Not the prettiest, or quietest, probably not for your living room, but great for a smaller space, basement or garage. Here in Minneapolis where it is -2 degrees outside as I am writing this review, this little heater will take the edge off.

This is my 4th milkhouse heater in 12 years. I use my heater daily almost 9 months out of the year. I love them for heating up a small room quickly and safely. The only complaint on this new version is that there is no OFF button. It is always on with the button lit up. Unplugging and plugging it in is a pain. But it saves on the energy bill and so I do it.

I've had this heater for two years now. It warms up the room well as you would expect, but is quite noisy when it is on.

However, the biggest problem I have with it is its poorly built construction. The heating and fan mechanism is riveted onto the frame instead of screwed on. That may be good and well, but if it gets knocked over a few times, the rivets become loose. There's no way to fix them! Even though the two units claim similar heat output. The milkhouse heater really kicks out the heat compared with the duraflame $75 model. The duraflame is much more aesthetically appealing but cannot match the raw heat output of this unit. This unit will put out the most heat for your dollar cost. I have also purchased the plastic holmes units similar to this model and they are still not the same heat output. This is the best small electric heater I have found--and I have used a lot of electric floor heaters. It is easy to use-uncomplicated. It turns off if you tip it over so it is safe. It doesn't overheat and turn itself off like many others. It seems to have a feature that causes it just to not overheat. I have left it on all night with no problems.

These fans are overpriced, loud pieces of cheap plastic. I had it for one night and chose to sleep with it off rather than put up with the rattling and squeeking. The plastic is so cheap it feels like it's going to break while you put it together. Funny enough, these fans do well because they're more expensive than others people assume they're the best because they're the most expensive. I highly recommend going for the $40 envirocare fan it's solid, it's quiet, and it has an air filter built in.

I purchased this fan from Amazon several months ago and it is already in the garbage. The assembly is very easy and only requires a few moments and a phillips screwdriver. Unfortunately the plastic is very flimsy and thin and does not inspire confidence in the overall quality. The fan operated very well initially and the remote control was intuitive and easy to operate. Within a few weeks, however, the fan was making high pitched squealing sounds (imagine an old fan belt on a cold winter morning). I tried all the different speeds and settings, turing off the oscillation, positioning the fan on different surfaces, etc. Nothing fixed the problem.

I've never considered myself a high-maintenance consumer, but this purchase was very disappointing. I'd recommend one of the other brands or models, though many of the oscillating tower fans seem to have this same complaint. I have had good luck with Holmes products in the past (although this model carries the Bionaire tag), but I'd like to prevent other customers from the trouble I experienced with this model. V3600 PREGO Pizzelle Baker

I couldn't be more pleased with this pizzelle maker!! This product absolutely doesn't stick no oil needed! :) I wasn't sure when I first opened the box and saw the silver plates rather than non-stick, but when I tried it the pizzelles came out beautifully. They are perfectly crisp and come out of the maker with a flip of the spatula. I made two batches of original Italian pizzelles, gingerbread and chocolate macadamia nut using the recipes included. My son loved the chocolate, but the rest of us preferred the other recipes. Next on my list is a roller I think the gingerbread recipe will make fantastic waffle cones. I used to make these cookies when I was a child back in Europe, and nostalgia made me look for a machine to make them here. I am very happy I found this pizzelle baker. The pizzelles came out perfect the first time I made them. Even though the machine doesn't have a teflon-type non-stick surface, nothing sticks (you have to lightly oil the surface before making the first batch of the day, as the instructions say). I actually prefer the metal surface, as I use a metal spatula to remove the pizzelles and with teflon I'd be afraid to scratch it. It is very easy to clean I just wipe it with a paper towel after I'm done. The design is very pretty even though the plate designs looks different in the photo, both cookies bake the same with waffle squares on one side and an ornate floral design on the other side (one of the cookies gets the flower on the bottom, the other on the top, but you can flip then and roll the cones with whichever design you like better on the outside). So far I've only been using the first recipe in the book and it makes perfect pizzelles. The trick to rolling a perfect cone is not to overbake the cookie take it out while it is lightly yellow. If it starts getting brown, it will crumble when you try to roll it. The 5-inch diameter, from what I understand, is the largest size you can find, at least in this country. To me it is perfect, I wouldn't like it to be smaller. The surface does get very hot, so it's not an activity you would do with small children. I had my 5-year old son help me fill the cones, but I had to ask him to stay away from the counter while I was baking. I am sure though that all other pizzelle bakers are like this too. The machine bakes pizzelles very fast, you have to stay by it the whole time as it only takes about 40-50 seconds per two cookies. To sum it all up this appliance is PERFECT and I can't think of any one thing that I would want different in it!

We recently installed a Lennox Gp71 with this t-stat and are completely satisfied, warm and happy. That unit is well designed, works great, good user interface and easy to program. Finally, some engineers must have used a focus group or some panel of consumers because the thermostat makes sense and is easy to use. Set the temp and it stays right there. Combine that unit with a good variable speed modulating furnace and you will be warm and comfortable. The old thermostat was horrible with a single stage furnace. Noisy and full on or off while rattling the house. This new one is quiet and in my opinion, about as good a furnace and thermostat that money can buy.

I've updated my review after 6 mos of use: I've found the Homemedics PS-200 "Perfect Steam" has been fine for all types of clothing. This is the smallest, value-priced model, so I wouldn't expect it have enough steam for thick upholstery or to press creases and folds. It's upright. Commercial steamers don't do this either without a flat surface. They're for removing wrinklesnot pressing clothes.

I bought it to use instead of a steam iron and for the same price, it's faster and easier. It has worked for denim jeans, suits, blankets, wrinkled khakis and dress shirts. Read the manual for tipsit helps to have the pole all the way up. When the hose starts to gurgle, water is condensing in the hose. Just hold the hose straight up and let the water drip back into the tank. The manual says this is normal and the condensation does not affect the steam. I find it's ready in 15 seconds! Also, steam runs consistently when the clothing is hung higher than the polemeaning I have to hang clothing from the top of a door frame or shower rod. The hose is long enough to reach but I wish the pole could have been made to extend a foot taller. I'm sure the reason it's not longer is that it would have made the unit too unstable (tip over more easily with added height) it's a very lightweight unit with a small base. It's small enough to fit inside my tiny closet. Distilled water is a must in Colorado. The water does need to be emptied out after each use or else mildew/mold will form. You may have to lift and tip the unit over a sink and shake the hose to completely empty. I was expecting much less for the price and was pleasantly surprised.

I wouldn't rate it as a "commercial" use steamer... Especially with the reports of the hose breaking off if you're not gentle in handling it. It's too light a model. The light weight and small size is convenient for home and the reason the pole can't be extended higher (requiring you to hang your garment up separately from the pole), but it's not sturdy enough for industrial/commercial needs.

I had the same problem with the steam petering out. What is happening is that there is buildup of minerals in the pipes and it eventually clogs. The way to fix this is to take off the hose and the reservoir and put vinegar in where the hose was and where the reservoir was. Let it sit. Then take a turkey baster bulb and put it over the opening for the hose and flush. AFter a little work it will finally free up and you are good for another 8 mos. If you used distilled water it wouldn't do this but that is ridiculous.

As for the how breaking....mine did that after about 2 years. The plastic simply fatigues. I called homedics and they said they will send me out a new one free immediately.

The above sounds like a hassle... but this steamer beats the pants off the Conair and the Shark and..it sounds like it beats the rowenta.

The only thing I don't like is that the pole could be longer.

update: 5/05...i went on the homedics website to send an email about the hose. there was no product category for the steamer, so i just picked one of the other products and wrote about the steamer anyway, asking how to buy a new hose. after about 3 weeks, i got a reply from their CS who said they would just send me a new hose...free! it came about 3 weeks later...during which time they had gotten mixed up and sent me an additional brush, and even called my home and left a message about the mix-up and apologised profusely. I was really pleased with the way this was handled.

So, now my steamer is back in business, and I am once more wrinkle free...at least from the neck down.

I read an article about steamers, and decided to try this one because it has all the features suggested for a good steamer, and at about 1/4 the price of commercial grade ones. It does a nice job, so far, I have to say i am very pleased. I think if you take care of it, by emptying out the water container and small amount of water left in the bottom of the machine between uses, as the instructions suggest, this little steamer should be fine for household use. I like to freshen things up between dry cleanings and it really does the trick and saves lots of time.

I've had this dehumidifier for 3 weeks so I can't say how well it holds up. So far the cons are:

the continous-drain hose attachment works very well (unlike the Kenmore model I tried previously), it works fine, easy set up, the filter is easy to remove and clean.

The cons: It is very noisy and even though it is in the basement I have to turn it off overnight as it is directly below our bedroom. It is very smelly (chemical smell) the first week or so.

I'm happy I found it and just went and bought the 30 pint model for some of my upstairs rooms...

I bought this iron for Mrs. Spudman and she loves it. I've used it a few times myself and must say it feels good in the hand and does a superb job removing wrinkles. So why do "we" like this iron so much?

The T-fal doesn't require distilled water like many other other irons, and the owner's guide actually recommends regular tap water. Lugging home the occasional gallon of distilled water can be a nuisance.

We like the convenience of the nine-foot cord that's much less restrictive than shorter cords on other irons we've owned.

Mrs. Spudman raves about the powerful steam and the awesome ability of this iron to make wrinkles disappear. My quilter wife pressed some pieces of material that had been folded since the Iron Age. Those wrinkles weren't even a challenge for this T-fal.

With a transparent water tank, filling to the correct level is easy. The water inlet hinged lid fits snugly and securely like none we've experienced before. One fills the tank with the iron in a horizontal position.

This is an attractive iron with easily understood and easily read controls. A light comes on when the iron has reached operating temperature and another light stays on while the iron is plugged in and is on.

With its 1700 watts of power I especially like the three way automatic off feature on this iron. It'll cut off after 8 minutes of nonuse in the vertical position or 30 seconds of nonuse in the horizontal position or on its side.

The Easycord system works wonderfully and has to be experienced to be appreciated. The T-fal's design keeps the cord up and out of the way.

The UltraGlide is a comfortable, attractive appliance that glides over fabric almost effortlessly. We like its performance and safety features, especially the very sturdy heel stand around which the cord wraps neatly for storage. So far we have absolutely no regrets about purchasing this iron.

When my second Rowenta iron in 4 years began to leak all over my ironing board, I came to Amazon.com to buy another because it was supposed to be the best iron on the market. After reading reviews by customers who experienced the same problem, I began to look at other brands and found this T-Fal Ultraglide. Right price, for sure! I just finished ironing a 100% cotton tuxedo shirt with french cuffs (one of my toughest ironing jobs) and commented out loud "I LOVE this iron!" Lots of steam, light weight, you don't need to go over an area more than once (honestly!) and you can even removed little "boo-boo" wrinkles you put in yourself with a burst of steam at the press of a button. Also works on my linen clothes beautifully. I have not tried it on anything but the blast furnace, full steam setting, so I can not attest to it's ability to deal with silks & delicates, but feel confident in highly recommending this iron.

I just went through multiple purchases (and returns) of irons ... two Black & Deckers, Panasonic and this T-Fal. Had no idea an iron put out by 'that cookware company' would be the best one!

PLENTY of steam, no leaks, heats up quickly and glides super-smooth.

Only drawback is there's no "on" switch to speak of. You just plug it in. It does have an automatic shut-off if left unattended or tipped over.

NOTE: The Blue iron is Prime-eligible, yet shows a picture of an earlier model. I took a chance and it IS the same design as the Red one!

Get this iron ... it's a great value at most any price.

I purchased this iron based on the Consumer Reports recommendation after my Black & Decker D2020 Digital Advantage stopped heating and I could not find the D2030 to replace it. While this is overall a decent iron, I was a bit disappointed by its performance. I am a quilter so my irons receive a considerable amount of use. However, since the type of use is slightly different than ironing clothing, this iron just did not work well for my needs.

1. The iron must be filled with water while the iron is horizontal. This is fine if you fill the iron before you plug it in, however, if you need to refill the iron in the middle of use, it becomes quite the juggling act to hold the iron off the ironing board, fill the water tank, and try to determine when you have reached the fill line. In my opinion, this is a very poor design.

2. Often times the iron would not produce steam without shaking it. I suspect that this is due to the water tank design. It seemed like I needed to shake the water into the location where it would produce steam. When you place the iron back in the upright position, you can hear the water gurgle as well. When I am ironing in short spurts for a seam or two, I want the steam to be readily available. I do not want to wait for the water to travel through the iron or have to shake it to speed up the process.

The iron does have some nice features. The sole plate is quite smooth and glides over fabric really well. Once the steam starts working, it presses fabrics reasonably well. However, I found it difficult to have the quick, crisp seams given the issues with the steam.

If you're thinking of buying a more expensive iron-say Rowenta-don't. My wife is a quilter and kept complaining about our $15 iron that we had since marriage. It didn't get very hot, didn't steam well, and left marks on clothing as early burn indications. She kept telling me that quilters use Rowenta irons and explained why. So, as Christmas approached, I started looking at Rowentas. There were some common themes throughout my findings: 1. They are expensive. 2. They leak and are unreliable. I found this out by reading several reviews online, reading consumer reports, and seeing multiple refurbished ones at the local Ross store. 3. They are great for the short time that they last, but not worth the price.

This caused me to look at other options. On Consumer Reports I found this T-Fal iron as they preferred pick. I looked for reviews online and there were only a few, but all positive. It is half the price of a Rowenta, so I gave it a try. I have never owned a Rowenta, but I'd bet this iron works just as well, only it has much more quality, reliability, and costs much less.

I honestly thought that an iron was an iron. I no longer think that way. I use this iron daily to iron my clothes before work. It glides so effortlessly and gets all the wrinkles out without applying lots of pressure or staying in one place for several seconds. It creases pants very well and has lots of steam output constantly (3 steam settings to regulate how much you need). And while creasing my pants, it does not burn them, make them shiny, leave white pattern marks, or anything. I don't notice much benefit from the cord manager, but that may be because I am more concerned with performance. Another huge benefit...this iron does not need distilled water. You fill it with regular tap water!

You probably want to know what my wife thinks of it since she was the one I bought it for. She loves the iron. She is not mad at me for not getting the Rowenta she had her eyes on. Anyway, I have yet to find any real cons to go against the pros. This is a great product. The only cons I could come up with are: 1. If you use the steam a lot, be ready to fill the water tank often (however, since you just use tap water, this is not a big deal at all). 2. The shape at the base is unique and functional, but it doesn't work well with resting trays at the end of the ironing board.

So, Ditch the idea of higher priced brands because it isn't worth it. Don't believe me, check the online consumer reviews. There are plenty to substantiate my claims. Good luck.
