This is one of the best small heaters you can buy IMO.. I have owned one of these myself for 2 years and bought this current one on amazon for my girl friend so she can bring her living room up to temp a little better then the regular house heat does. These heaters are easy to use, there pretty quiet and I have never had any over heating issues etc.. I live in an older house and since heating the house is expensive I tend to only run this in my room when I'm home or have the day off.. I can turn this heater on when the rooms 48-55 degrees on average and watch the temp climb to 70-75 degrees within 20min.. it has no problem fighting the cold and will even start to heat up the cold hallway if I leave the door open by accident it's a pretty powerhouse unit for it's size if you ask me. The digital thermostat on it is pretty damn accurate.. i have a digital thermometer clock thingy in my room that sits around 6 feet away from the heater and it is always within 1 degree of the heater's set temp. If you got a small room, a small living room, bathroom, buy one of these you won't be sorry.

I bought this to replace one I had for years. It seems to be the only heater with an accurate thermostat. -All1500 Watt heaters give out the exact same amount of heat, whether it is a $30 box with glowing ribbons inside or a big piece of wooden furniture with a fancy looking heater inside. An oil filled radiator gives off heat when you shut it off because of how long it took to get warm in the first place. How these thing react to changing conditions is the only difference. This heater has a circuit board for clock, timer and accurate thermostat.

I would have given this 5 stars, as I loved it while it worked. Nice thermostat control and warmed the room nicely with fan blowing heat. BUT it stopped heating after one month of use. I saw that Consumer Reports rated this second to a $400. heater and was hopeful it would last at least one winter. I know Holmes products are cheap and only last a year at best. It does come with a one year warranty, but if you live 50 miles from civilization like I do, that's a whole lot of hassle just to get the product you bought for this very moment freezing cold! I'll never buy Holmes again. And I wish these reviews wouldn't put words in my mouth for the one star rating I don't hate it. I'm frustrated and disappointed and cold and not looking forward to the time and hassle it will take to make it right! I totally loved it while it worked! And I won't buy again from any company that only gives a one month return/exchange policy. If they did a simple exchange, I could have a working heater within the week.

A REVIEW PS: I spoke to the manufacturer (Holmes), and they couldn't have been nicer! They're sending me a new heater this week, just as I had hoped the original seller would do. They make good on their warranties, and it was no hassle at all as I had anticipated. I will buy Holmes again! They said it was highly unusual for this heater to stop heating. So I'm back to giving it 5 stars... once it arrives and is working!

Just installed it 11/20/2012 in a crawl space about 1150 sq. ft. Although it's not rated according to the formula it does the job and does it well. I installed it because of hurricane Sandy. My crawl space had 3" of water. The crawl space is about 2.5 3 feet high and the item dried the remaining space is 3 days. The product is remarkably well made. Only the test of time will tell if the components are made well.

The Tjemlund UnderAire Crawl Space Ventlator is very easy to install and very quiet, but it moves quite a bit of air for its size. It has a sturdy build and can be trimmed to fit your vent if needed. I did not have to do any trimming at all, it fit my crawl space vents perfectly right out of the box. I was having a problem with the humidity in my crawl space until I installed the ventilator, now the humidity problem is gone. I also like the feature that you can set the humidity level to the % that you desire. Once the humidity gets below your setting the fan will cut off automatically, and then come back on if the humidity gets above the level that you set it on.

I am amazed at how well this little fan heats up the entire room. In addition, it automatically shuts off if it falls or gets too hot. Fan is a little noisy. I recommend it.

The fan shot craps within the first ten minutes of operation. The heating element stayed on, even though fan wasn't running. Blew breaker. For the ten minutes it worked, the fan buzzed and rattled. Very cheaply constructed. This is not a quality product.

It is a decent heater. It is not the best heater nor the worst. The controls settings are a bit vague. There are two one for the fan and the other for the temp control. The fan as two modes really. A fan without the heat and low or high. I found the heat even set on the highest setting really never was 'hot' it was tepid warm.

It is a light unit made of all cheap looking plastic. It has a anti-tilt feature which is nice. As a heat unit, this is probably good for supplement heat for a room at is already warm but wouldn't help much if it was a cold room.

Ordered three as gifts for people on Pine Ridge Reservation who desperately needed heaters to keep warm. They didn't heat well to begin with. None of the heaters were used full-time, or during the day, and certainly not overnight. In addition, the heaters went to different people. After just over a month's use all three began to smoke and the constant smell made the owners afraid to use them. This purchase was a major disappointment as well as a TOTAL waste of money. They certainly weren't inexpensive. The only reason one star was given is because the system forces one to rate items. Had I been able to give no stars, I would have.

This is just what I was looking for. I have a workbench in my garage, and this small heater works well for me since it runs on 110 volts. I did not want to go to the trouble to install a 220 plug. The control knobs, and the housing of this heater is top quality.

When I turned it on my 12 x 14 home office was a chilly 64 degrees F, in 30 minutes it was a toasty 69 degrees F. I did not find the noise very loud (similar to a hard drive) and overall am VERY satisfied. The thermostat seems to work OK, but I can see I'll have to tweak it. I would recommend this little beauty to anybody.

I've had this unit for 6+ years and it's worked great. I don't have A/C, just heat. the sensor has varried by only about 1 degree the entire time. unlike another reviewerI replace the batteries (2 AAA) maybe every 2-3 years. programming is pretty straight forward.

What a joke! This thermostat was installed by the furnace company who were installing a new multi-stage furnace. It eats batteries and when you go to replace them, you have to completely open the entire unit, where upon the batteries pop out into your face! There is no backup retention of your programmed settings, so you have to reprogram this unit every time you replace the batteries, which is often. So I don't even bother programming it any more, I just leave it on "Hold" to maintain my preset temp. I could spend $35 for a non-programmable unit and have the added advantage of not having to deal with the constant battery changes!!!

I had this thermostat in my home for 3 years. It mysteriously failed for 3 days last year (no AC) and then suddenly worked right before the AC repair man could arrive. It worked another year and experienced same issue but never regained consciousness. It would not keep the numerically selected setting. I could actually stand there and watch it climb or drop over 10 degrees in a matter of seconds, which in turn would immediately shut off either my heat or AC, whichever. Backup batteries were not related to this issue. Owners manual had no customer service hot line number for me to call (another nice touch, very professional). It now adorns the local landfill. Try a Rite Temp touch-pad at half the price.

To select heat, a/c or fan you have to swing down the plastic cover that makes up the lower third of the faceplate. This cover is flimsy and feels like it won't stay on there long (this unit was installed when I had a new furnace installed a month ago.)

Also the up/down pushbuttons are very hard to use you have to push them dead on-center to register. After a month, I still get it right only 50% of the time.

Operating instructions are not easy to read.

If you have a 2 wire hookup to your furnace, you will need this in order to use the wireless thermostat offered by Jackson Systems. That thermostat supplies a 24V signal, whereas a 2 wire thermostat expects a relay or switch to close. This isolation relay provides that function.

This is well made, and comes with a bracket and screws to attach it properly. If you are handy with tools and an ohm meter, you will have no trouble figuring out the necessary wiring.
