Not only is this mini fridge cute it works wonderfully. I bought this fridge because my regular kitchen fridge froze my medication, that just won't do. So I have this mini fridge in my room and it has kept my medication safe. The only complaint I have about it is: you have to unplug it for an hour every other day. If you don't do it, the fridge stops cooling. I wish that had been mentioned in the production description. It's not a big deal, but I would have liked to known up front.

I purchased this refridgerator for my office at work -figured it would be very convenient to put my luch in. I had read reviews that you need to unplug the fridge for an hour every 48 hours, but when I talked to the seller, they said the power cable was upgraded and this isn't a problem any more. It gas been running for about a week and no problems yet. The only downside to this unit is that it is very noisy. So depending on where you plan on using it, it may be very distracting. When I had it plugged in on the first floor, I could hear it running when I was on the second floor. It is a decent unit for the price, just know what to expect.

Great little fridge, power cord burns out though after a few weeks. Buy a few of 'em up front and you should be set. (It doesn't matter which small fridge you buy, they all act this way.)

We bought it to store baby formula when we did not feel like trekking downstairs to our refrigerator at night. Worked well for that.

I bought this to put in my room so I could relax and study while enjoying a snack. It`s good for things about 5 inches, but anything larger won`t fit. It`s not good for long trips, though. I would recomend putting it ethier in your room or next to your computer.

The description should include the following:

"There must be a one hour break after it has kept working for 48 hours. Then it can be used again.", as quoted from the included instructions. I purchased this for my desk at work and, now, I can't keep items in there that need refrigeration over the weekend (we have a 4-day work week).

The shelf is removable

Car adapter is included as well as wall plug

Pay attention to the INSIDE dimensions; one and a half inches are cut off from the outer dimensions. In the upright position, as shown, it is 2 soda cans deep.

With all of the above said, it is adorable, seems to be cooling well, and for the price, I'm quite happy with it. I just wish the description had included the "unplug for an hour" info. Better yet, they should improve it so that it doesn't need to be unplugged at all.

I bought this heater based on the features and a good CR review as there were a limited # of reviews on Amazon. One thing I liked about this heater is it puts out heat at approx. 24" off of the floor. I use it in my home office and my two previous Holmes ceramic heaters were very low and would direct the heat into my computer air intake which wasn't very good for me or my computer. Although I really didn't think I needed a remote to change the heat settings, I find it very useful to control the oscillation or temp setting. You can change all settings manually on the front panel if you loose your remote. It seems to throw out much more heat than any of my previous 1500W heaters and easily heats my 16 x 16 ft room in short order. The LED display is well lit and the construction is fairly impressive and sturdy. The fan seems to have much more CFM than your average space heater, but without any real dicernable noise especially when on the phone etc. About the only thing I can complain about is that in the Automatic temperature control mode the unit will only run in the high 1500W mode. If you use the Auto thermostatically controlled feature and it's relatively close to you, it will get a little too warm which is easily resolved by turning the temperature down or putting it in the manual mode on low. I think for this heater to keep you warm, it doesn't really need to be within 5ft as you can place it anywhere in most rooms in the auto mode to keep the whole room temperature constant. For the cost, I don't see how anyone could complain about this heater, but I'm sure someone will! I just ordered a second one for my family room which is much larger, but I feel it will handle it with ease. I would have ordered two as I am giving one to my Mother for Christmas, but they restocked and sold out all but one in 24 hours! I'm sure that a lot more people will say good things about this heater. BTW I checked the kW per hour usage with a meter, on the high setting and it uses around 1.36 kWh or around 15 cents/hr at average electric rates, but it is very unlikely that you would need to run this heater constantly on high unless you were heating a very large room. I would assume that it would be about half that on the low setting (750W).

Great product! Immediately turns out a lot of heat but the heater itself stays cool to the touch. Love the setting to have the heater automatically monitor the room temp and switch on and off in order to maintain the desired temperature. The only thing I do not like about the heater is that after being turned off, when you turn it back on it goes straight to the heater setting instead of "remembering" that we had been using the automatic temperature monitoring setting.

I put this heater in use at the beginning of December, 2012 and kept track of the power usage with a Kill-A-Watt meter for that month. I ran it for about 8 hours every night set at 65 degrees to keep the master bedroom warm while the whole-house thermostat was set at 60 degrees. For the month of December the heater used 112.39 kwh which at my electrical rate in Michigan cost $7.83 or 25.2 cents per day. I consider this to be very good. The house is well insulated with outside storm windows on the bedroom. The bedroom is 14x17 ft with an 8 ft ceiling that slopes up to 14 ft.

The only downside that kept it from getting five stars is that it is a bit noisy.

Honest reviews on Lasko 6462 Full-Circle Warmth Ceramic Ceramic Electric Space Heater

This is a sturdy and very responsive heater. The instructions are clear and it puts a lot of heat out. It is light enough to move around easily but solid and not at all wobbly. I would recommend it to anyone needing a boost in a too cold room.

Within 6 weeks of purchasing this heater, the plug overheated so much that it partially melted. Its a cheap fire hazard that belongs in the trash, and I will never buy this product again!

I want to start by saying I typicallly do not write a review unless I feel strongly against the other reviewers. This fan does have some positive attributes but this was not what I was looking for or expected. The reason I purchased this fan is becasue I wanted something to heat up our room at night without having to heat up the entire house. We live in the Bay Area, CA and it is not asking a whole lot for a fan to increase the temp in a 12X12 room. If you are looking for a heater fan for your cubicle or desk, this would work great! in fact I will be donating this to my GF.

As always, Amazon did an excellent job in getting the order out.

See Pro's and Con's below.

Pros:

-Sleek compact design

-Quiet

-Visaully appealing

-Instant heat

Cons:

-Does not heat up very well. (cannot heat up a 12X12 room in California, enough said)

-Makes clicking sound while oscilating.

-Cold...!

Update:

Ok, so I might have been a little too critical the first night but this fan still doesn't put out overwhelming heat. The first night I did not have the fan oscilating and barely warmed us up at all. The second night it was oscilating and it was a little better. Overall, this fan is still pretty cold and has an annoying ticking sound when it oscilates but it is pretty decent for the $$.

Update: 2/25/2013

I purchased this item 1/10/2013 and it has now stopped working. I went with this item because of all the good reviews.. Last night 45 days after I purchased the item it burnt up and stopped working. This item has continuously had problems and now I cannot return it/exchange it. Do not get this fan look elsewhere....

Best Deals on Comfort Zone® Deluxe High Efficiency Oscillating Fan- Heater CZ50

We have a pellet stove, but we don't turn it on if the temperature is above 35 degrees outside. Instead, we use these Comfort Zone heaters. Love them. The oscillating feature makes all the difference in the world. Once you have that feature, you can't go back to the former stationary heater.

We can heat the entire first floor of our home with just two of the heaters. What's odd is our electric bill only went up about $14 a month after using them. I thought it would've been a lot higher than that.

We couldn't be happier.

-I'm using this thing in my shop with a duct system attached to the torpedo and the comfort range I set on this gizmo ain't right on the nut but close. By the time my shop starts to cool down, and it's insulated, just to the point where you cann't work in shirt sleeves, it kicks on. The temp settings vary and the comfort zone is something you'll have to find out for yourself. A little overpriced but ? It Works !!!!!!!

Not exact temp but close enough to keep my garage warm while I work in the winter. I almost returned this when I first bought it because I thought it wasn't working. It works, just keep in mind it's not like your house furnace thermostat. It has a wider temperature range before it kicks on and off. After using it all winter I realized its better this way since it doesn't kick on and off as often.

This is being used with a 60,0000 BTU Ready Heater. I hung the thermostat on the wall. Seems very well made.

Some advice: Use this product for a month or two before writing a review. 3 months ago I would have rated this a 3, now I realize it is perfect for how I use it.

Worked for 2 minutes and then my torpedo heater motor froze the bushings so the unit is now dead. Waiting on a replacement to get back in business.

Part I didn't like is that the manufacturer appears to have abandoned making these with the capillary tubes and is using a cheaper bi-metal thermostat. Not as robust as the older units but should work for years.

Update on 26FEB13:

Thermostat didn't fail, torpedo heater motor failed. Replaced motor on Forced Air Heater and gave this thermostat a whirl again. Very disappointed with the performance of this unit in that there is about 20 degrees between on/off with this thermostatic controller. That said, you bring the environment up to temperature and the heater shuts off correctly but you will be running for your jacket before this unit ever turns back on. Total waste of money and that's too bad because it's a good idea.

The built-in thermostats on some forced air heaters are much more precise than these units.

If your heater doesn't have a built-in thermostat, you will be better served by picking up a cheap thermostat for the house, a double gang box and rolling your own.

Problem for me is that I already threw away the box so I won't be able to return for a refund.

Item arrived quickly and did as advertized. Had it wired to be a temperature control for a fermentation chamber. I used 2 wall sockets, 1 10 amp inline fuse, a wall plate with three opening, 1 old computer cord, a couple of feet of wire, and a electrical wall box. I presently have my first lager going. Hope the beer turns out as good as this product. Check out some photos here imgur.com/a/5i3Lm

Works great on my aquarium turns fans on if it gets to hot turns heater on if it gets to cold switches automatically. Instruction are good with one exception they need to tell the fuse size, also I see some people installing them in things like plastic food containers I don't think that I would do that container can burn and no air flow. I took a computer power supply gutted, painted black and used the fan for cooling aquarium and the metal box to house the controller as it has ventilation, power cord and an exit for wiring and is made of metal (use at your on risk).

Have had a few months now, working all the way love it.

Update

Working all the way after 7 months, keeps my saltwater tank within a total of 0.6 degree C temperature. Switches automatically between heat and cool as needed. (0.3C + heat and 0.3C + cool).

Controller is connected to two ice cube contacts and they are connected to two 110v 6 plug power strips. One power strip is cool and one power strip is heat.

We bought a very old horizontal freezer and now have the ability to use it as a refrigerator when hosting large groups.

Great tool. Handy to have on hand.

Athought this fan is an 8" fan it is larger than I thought it would be. The fan blades are 8" but the baffle is 10". The hole has to be just over 10" for it to fit. For some, making a 10" hole in your wall may put you off.

This fan is wonderful. It has a high and low volumn. The low moves plenty of air and it is very quite on low OR high.

It has aa attached power cord, however we were able to hard wire it to a power line within the wall so we don't have a cord hanging. With little electrical knowlege this is easy. Other than cutting the hole in the right place so as not to hit a stud, it was very easy to install.

We use it to move the hot air from a room with a wood stove to a large kitchen area. It makes a drastic difference in temperature after running for a short time. We used a coner door frame fan prior to installing this. The old fan made almost no difference in temp and it was very loud. Again, even on high this fan is very quiet and moves a lot of air.

Click Here For Most Helpful Customer Reviews >>

I bought this to move warm air from our LR to the rest of the when the woodstove is going. It gets too hot in the room and this does help. It's not the perfect solution, but it was cheaper than putting another doorway in just yet. It does require cutting a hole in the wall (obviously) so if you're not handy, keep that in mind. It's much quieter than the doorway fan we have. I'd recommend it.

We purchased this fan about 5 months ago and its working fine. I needed to get extra ventilation into a utility room. This fan moves alot of air even on the low speed. Installation was easy enough, I completed the job in about 30 minutes. The fan is a little noisy though. This is not an issue in a utility room (about the sone noise of a mid priced bathroom exhaust fan) but if it was in a room that you want quite it may be a little bothersom. Keep in mind if you are venting into a closed room you may want to put a another vent (passive) in the room so that the air can circulate back out of the room. This fan is also larger in diameter that what it appears on line so I would recomend that you take the time to mark how much space this will use on your wall before ordering.

Honest reviews on Room-to-Room Fan - Circulate Cold or Warm Air from Room to Room

I bought this on May 8th 2012 for $59.96 including ship.

Our situation: We live in a double-wide mobile home with eight foot ceilings everywhere except the great room/living room--its cathedral ceiling is a couple feet taller. From the day we moved in we've hated that room and wondered how much it would cost to convert it to a lower ceiling.

NO NEED, PROBLEM SOLVED WITH THIS FAN!! The worst thing about a situation like ours (mobile home with silly cathedral ceilings) is not just the heat in the great room, but how all the other rooms have to be freezing in the summer just to make it breathable in the great room. (Plus the thermostat is located in the great room)

We tried everything over the years--sitting box fans in the cold parts of the house and trying to suck/blow the cool air over into the hot room--running the ceiling fan in the hot room constantly and not letting the hot air build up--or doing the opposite, not running the ceiling fan and just letting it build up and stay there. We tried various things, nothing with much success.

Last year we installed two additional register vents in the "great hot room" hoping that would not only add cool air to the room via the air conditioner, but maybe because of the additional registers blowing in the hot room, the registers in the cold rooms wouldn't blow quite so hard. It helped, but I still had to close off one of the registers in a bedroom as it continued to freeze the people in that room during air conditioning months. The extra vents helped, but the great room continued to be noticeably warmer than the rest of the house.

And this year I started thinking about a through the wall fan. After reading the reviews here on Amazon, and seeing most people were using the fan to get the heat from rooms with a wood burning stove to disperse to other parts of their house--I thought, I've got a wood burning stove in my ceiling, yessiree. And I want that heat out of there--and the room right next door is always freezing--so let's suck it out of the hot room and into the cold room!

I decided if I could "tell even a little bit of difference" I'd buy a second fan. We cut the hole in the wall, for the fan, a few inches down from the ceiling on the cold room's side, therefore it is about 20 inches or so down the wall on the side with the cathedral ceiling. We've had it for over a couple of weeks now, and I'm still feeling giddy. I walk back and forth between the two sides, grinning like an idiot. You'd think I invented something that was going to make me rich the way I brag about it to everyone! There is absolutely NO REASON to buy a second fan. For the first time in ten years, the house's temperature is balanced throughout!

This is a good product and has really helped to balance out the heat throughtout different rooms. However, it's a bit noiser than I'd like, but given the amount of air that it's moving, it's acceptable.

I have tried the quartz and ceramic heaters which often require a small fan to circulate air past the elements to heat the air. I have also been in homes that use natural gas for gravity heat, central air, built in electric ceiling heat, and a natural gas wall heater. Most of the gas or electric element heaters that I mentioned tend to dry out and remove some of the oxygen from the air which can cause that uncomfortable "soar throat and headache" feeling. These DeLonghi oil-filled radiators don't seem to negatively effect the air since they use clean electricity and simply heat up the air through efficient convection and radiation. This model TRD0715T has side metal tubing that creates more of a vacuum effect which seems to make the hot air blow out of the top of the unit without the use of a fan. DeLonghi rightfully nicknames this as a "Dragon model" since has the effect of a forced air heater without the noise or extra electricity requirements. On low 700W, medium 900W, or high 1500W settings you can feel the hot air at least two feet above the top of the heater. A simple analog thermostat dial enables you to choose your desired temperature level for the unit to operate at. Other nice features include a 96 position, 24 hour timer that allows you to customize when the heater turns on or off throughout the day. There are also some nice safety features such as an automatic shut-off if the unit is tipped over or if the temperature of the unit gets too high. Although the sides and top of the device get hot it does not burn you if you happen to accidently touch it. These devices are very efficient compared to the other electric heaters and many people use them as very efficient room space heaters and they are able to turn down their central air systems to save on gas or electricity.

PROS: This oil filled heater is clean, energy efficient, safe, and works well at heating small to medium sized rooms. The clever design allows for a hot air vacuum effect which heats a room faster, this model includes a 24 hour programmable timer. Retractable wheels allow you to easily move or store the device. The sealed oil-filled unit with auto shut off features makes it one of the safest electric heater designs.

CONS: Not as effective at heating large rooms that have poor insulation or large open areas. Energy efficiency is limited to use as a space heater in smaller to medium sized rooms or very well insulated larger rooms. The heated air is very non-directional compared to forced air or reflective quartz or ceramic electric space heaters. Similar to other types of large electric space heaters it requires a very high (up to 1500W) electrical current from a single outlet which can cause problems in homes or buildings with very old or poorly designed electrical systems. It does not have a digital LCD temperature display which is a common feature on many other space heater models.

SUGGESTIONS: On their high setting most electrical space heaters can draw as much electrical current as a big hair drier. Make a plan as to which room outlet you are going to plug this high current heater into since it is recommended that you do not have any other high current devices plugged into the same outlet or on the same circuit as this heater. If you have any of the previously mentioned issues with your electrical system consider using the low 700W or medium 900W settings to help prevent any problems with overloading the electrical circuit. If you are on a very tight budget and you don't need a programable timer take a look at the very low cost model EW0507W (I also own one of these) which has less features and no metal side tubing but uses the same basic oil-filled radiator technology. When brand new all models of these heaters give off a "wet paint" odor which in fact from an anti-corrosion chemical used to protect the unit during shipping. Simply keep the heater in a well ventilated area when you use it the very first time and the odor will go away for good after running it at the high temperature setting for a few hours.

THE BOTTOM LINE: This "Dragon model" TRD0715T safe heat oil filled heat radiator is the best room space heater I have ever used. I am so impressed with this heater that I have purchased two of them. I give it the highest rating of FIVE out of FIVE STARS.

Just bought this, still deciding whether to keep it. Ran a little experiment, thought it might give folks an idea of what to expect.

Room size: 154SF (11x14)

Finished, unheated basement room, with one insulated external wall, the rest uninsulated interior walls. No windows, door closed.

Outside temp: 15F

Put heater in center of room

Put thermometer on a desk 6 feet away

Started at 10:20AM with a cold heater set on high, measured for 5 hours

10:20AM 49.6F

11:20AM 55.9F

12:20PM 59.9F

01:20PM 62.6F

02:20PM 64.4F

03:20PM 65.8F

So roughly 2 hours to raise the temp 10F, 4 hours to raise the temp 15F

Unfortunately, I suspect that none of the competing electric heaters would do significantly better, since they're all limited to 1500W. Since I'm reluctant to try a fuel-burning heater in an unventilated space, I may stick with this Delonghi and call it good enough.

Best Deals on DeLonghi TRD0715T Safeheat 1500W Portable Oil-Filled Radiator

Here's a review from the perspective of having used one of these for an entire winter. I bought one of these a year ago so we could set our natural gas heat on a very low temprature at night during the winter and still keep the master bedroom warm. Here are my observations.

1. It performed flawlessly and was so quiet we wouldn't even know it was there.

2. The timer is what sold me on the unit. 24 hours divided into small time intervals which may each be turned on or off give huge flexibility in when this heater runs and doesn't. It's on automatically only when you want it on.

3. The heat comes out the top. The sides stay very "cool" for a heater. I can put may hands on the sides for about a half a second, which means that touching the heater accidently on the sides probably won't cause a burn. It really seems to be built with safety in mind.

4. I would, of course, still follow the directions with regard to how close it is placed to other objects. As an additional safety measure, I bought a large, thick ceramic tile to put on the carpet, and then I put the heater on the tile.

5. There is an oily smell that seems to come from the heater when it is new out of the box and after being turned on for the first time after being in storage for the summer. When we first activated ours two nights ago we smelled it, but tonight not so much.

6. Some seem to have had build quality issues and I can't comment on that because we seem to have received a good one.

7. I live in the Pacific Northwest where the winter temperatures rarely get below 30 degrees. I know in some places it gets way colder than that, and I have no idea how well this heater would keep you warm under those circumstances.

8. Right now we're running it in the family room to see if we can leave the electric baseboard heaters off for the winter. Of course, if this experiment succeeds, we'll have to buy another one of these heaters for the bedroom.

9. I have two small children, and once I've explained to them that they need to stay away from it, I have no safety worries for them.

So far, this is far and away the safest, quietest, and most effective space heater I've ever owned. For me, it sure beats a box with glowing orange heating elements and a fan!

Postscript: I bought a second one. When you are unpacking it, beware that there may be bits of styrofoam down in the heater. Look for those and get them out of there before you power it on for the first time. That may save some you some stinky fumes, but still follow the directions and let it run on full power with a lot of ventilation for at least two hours or more. I bought a second unit and ran it for three hours with the window open.

Second Postscript: Well, we bought a second one to see if it was more efficient than the baseboard heaters in our family room. We turned the baseboards off and ran this heater using the timer to have it be on about six out of every twenty four hours. Surprisingly, our electric bill this December was significantly higher than last December, and this is about the only thing different about our energy consumption. So, that experiment seemed to have failed, and then the timer on the second heater failed only ten weeks after we purchased it, so I took it back to where I bought it and decided to take a credit instead of a replacemet. I still love having the one in the bedroom for those cold winter nights though.

Honest reviews on DeLonghi TRD0715T Safeheat 1500W Portable Oil-Filled Radiator

I've had an old Delonghi oil-filled space heater for 15 years or more. It had a recall on the control panel. The last few years it has been leaking oil on high setting. So I searched and decided on the newest version of the old Delonghi.

This is a good product with easy control and a clever timer feature (took me a while to figure out, though NOT obvious, and I'm reasonably bright and handy!).

Only complaint, and it is fairly serious: when new, it stinks when run on high setting, which is only 1500 watts, after all.

There was a paper in the packing that said to expect some off-gassing at first. Well, I've run the thing for 5 days on high heat and it still smells toxic when running on high heat. The paint finish gives off some sort of fumes for days and days. I still cannot stand to run it on the high setting indoors at all. It really smells bad like curing oil-based paint.

It really stinks! I've been running it in the basement and it still is not nearly acceptable for indoor use.

I trust I will eventually be able to use it in an actual room. I'll give it five more days of blasting away. I may have to send it back. It is pretty heavy, though; I'd lose a lot of money on the deal from shipping costs.

While my old Honeywell lasted some 30 years with the tabs still holding.

This new one has super thin plastic tab rings that broke off when access cover was removed.

I guess I could tape the cover back on, my wife will love that!

I bought two of those to use as 2-way Thermostat for my Gas Furnace. Works Great! Great Price of $3.99 each for opened box! Decent Quality!

I wanted inexpensive and I got it. The instruction are really bad. All Honeywell instructions are bad. It does not clearly say that it will not work with electric heat. I bought 5 of them and could not use them in my rentals with electric heat. I then bought the round old style and they work great.

I bought one of these for a simple 2 wire setup (R and W wires). From the manual it looks like you can use it for that. The first one I installed did not work and the customer service person asked me about my setup, we checked that the wiring setup I had was good (touch red to white to make sure it goes on), but it did not work, so they told me it was defective. I went to get another one, and same thing. The think is, if you look at how it's made, it looks like they have connected the wrong posts -the metal connector that works when you touch the wire to it is not attached to the W wire screw. I tried a different thermostat and it worked fine. So either both of the these CT31A thermostats I bought were defective, or the thermostat was mis-manufactured with a flawed design, or it's not designed to work with a 2 wire setup (though the manual does not say so).

Would love to hear from Honeywell what the issue is with this thermostat.

I purchased this thermostat to replace an older programable type that I could not get to work properly. It would turn on and off at the oddest times and I could not correct it following the manual provided. I decided to return to a simple model, but wanted a digital type rather than the older mercury dial variety. This Honeywell thermostat is so simple to use, and is accurate as can be. I am retired and spend most of my time at home anyway and can set it and forget it. If we have been out for a few days, we lower the heat, and increase it to our regular temp when we arrive home. It is almost an instant warm up and absolutely trouble free. This is all you need to keep life simple and easy.

I got this for my 87 year old mother-in-law who cannot manage multiple programs. She loves it, as the only choices she has to make are OFF/Heat/Cool, Fan On/Auto, and Temp UP/Down. Works great too.

See my review of RTH110B. I thought it would work. It failed after 3 days.

I just installed this unit. I cycled it through heat/cool. Both work. They advertise that there is some auto switch over feature from HC. It must be programmed with the 2 arrow buttons. Complicated. Probably will be lost w/battery change. I have 3 functions heat, cool, & off. Which is what I want. It does maintain 1 degree range within set point. Display and buttons on front make adjustments quick and easy. Any mechanically inclined home owner can install this. The longest delay, will be positioning sheet rock anchors, if needed.

Thermometer is primitive and can not be calibrated to match existing/accurate thermometers. The work around is to simply adjust your set point by the difference between what this unit reads and your old unit.

I will update this review in the next days, weeks, months on its longevity, since Honeywell reliability has proved less than 100%.

1 Week later: Still works as advertised. I've gotten use to out of calibration thermometer reading.

1 Month later: Still working. Appreciating the 1 degree comfort zone.

1 year later; Still working.

Reading instructions, I installed it myself, ever since, I noticed a drop in electricity usage so it's paying for itself. Easy to read glows in the dark, very easy to set Temp.

This thermostat was the answer to our frustration with a more complex, programmable thermostat that had been in our small apartment for 4 years. The RTH5100B 1025 was EASY TO INSTALL and is very simple to operate. It's either on or off, and when it's on, it's highly accurate at keeping the temperature in our 540 square foot apt. at the selected degree.

We now live in South Florida and have a heat pump system for the AC and heat. When the thermostat was first installed, it took about 5 minutes for the thermostat to recognize and sync with this type of system. The directions indicated this, though, so we weren't too concerned when the AC didn't go on right away. We waited, per the directions, and within 4-5 minutes the AC started up.

If you live in an area where the power goes off on a rather frequent basis, this thermostat does not need to be re-programmed when the power comes back on. In our neighborhood, the power annoyingly goes off for short periods of time for no apparent reason. With our former programmable thermostat, we had to re-program it every time this happened, even if the power had only been off for a couple of seconds.

I'd recommend this to anyone who is home most of the time and wants a dependable, simple system of cooling/heating their home.
