Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program This is conveniently portable, you can carry it from one room to another, even if you have been using it for sometime. The heat is coming from the bottom and doesn't heats up the handles that are on the top. It uses two 40W E12 lamps that can be replaced from the back.

Pros:

wonderful magical fireplace display. It looks like an authentic fire unless you are very close to it.

no assembly required

Cons:

Not extremely loud but still makes noise even no heater is on.

No authentic fire log crackling noise. Fireplace DVDs give you better experience on audio.

It is blowing air on the bottom but not enough to spread the head across the room

Energy consumption:

I used a Kill-a-Watt to measure how much energy it consumes. This electronic fireplace has three rocker switches. The first one is for light display only. The other two switches is to turn on the heater. There are two rotating knobs. The one on the left is for the light display intensity. The one on the right is a dumb knob for the heater temperature. It is actually just a two step switch. It doesn't adjust gradually. Nothing happens until you turn the knob past halfway before the light on the second heater switch turns on. After passing halfway, the heat will not intensify more even if you turn the knob all the way to the highest setting.

Light only, dimmest setting = 53W

Light only, brightest setting = 78W

Light + 1 heater switch = 731W

Light + 2 heater switches = 1,311W

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program I have not had an electric fireplace before. But, I was certainly surprised at the heating uniformity this one produced. I was suspicious that it would heat in one spot, like those small space heaters.

I placed this in the lowest level of my home. I have a Tri-level and the basement level is the coldest. Although it is not too cold yet, this electric Fireplace threw out some instant heat. The heat soon radiated into the room, and it kept the heat in the room uniform.

I liked the look of the flames and the wood, as it is quite realistic. The flames are high, and consistently producing nice images of fire.

My only concern is that the flames are placed in the back, and I would like the flames to billow out of the "logs" also. So, the logs are lit, and the flames are in the back.

The unit, itself, does not get hot, and there is an auto safety feature. You can operate this with or without the heat. PLUS, you can operate one heating element or both for greater warmth.

I placed the Fireplace in the Living Room, and I got a very nice uniform heat. I will, of course, raise the fireplace for more of a level to eye view and enjoyment.

This one is smaller than my other unit Frigidaire CMSF-10310 Cleveland Floor Standing Electric Fireplace Black. It is compact and easy to move. It certainly does not take up much space.

But what I do not know yet is if this uses more electricity than normal. I will test it out, But, in the meanwhile, it is wonderful!! Works great, looks better! Rizzo

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program We are thoroughly enjoying this electric fireplace. First of all, it's an attractive piece and appropriate for our bedroom, den and living area. One of the best things about it is its portability we can move it wherever we wish.

Since we live in the Southwest we've yet to experience any real winter this year so have just used it during the cool mornings of late. We cannot wait for real frosty winter to arrive as we have visions of toasty evenings watching TV.

We're pleased that we don't have to heat the entire villa to make us comfortable in one room. What a boon when the bill comes around!

Think the price for it is quite reasonable and for us a Frigidaire product is a good, dependable one.

Honest reviews on Frigidaire DSF-10302 Dallas Floor Standing Electric Fireplace

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program This fireplace is a bit small to do anything with. Since it's a 'fireplace,' you want it out in the open to admire it, but it's too small to act like a fireplace. If you end up putting it close to you to act as a space heater, you lose a lot of the ambiance of the fireplace and starts to look really fake. I do like that it has two heat settings -and can put out a respectable amount of heat for its size -but I think I'd opt for one of the bigger, more expensive ones over this one. It's really too small and 'space heater like' to really appreciate as a fireplace.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program This floorstanding fireplace is easily moved from location to location. It gives off a pleasant orange glow in addition to the heat coming from the bottom of the unit. The control that operates the fire appearance is a rheostat on the back panel the visual effects cannot be turned off if the unit is turned on. That is, you can't have just the heat without any visual effects; even at the dimmest setting, the effects may be too bright in an otherwise dark room. The heater control can be run at half power as there are two heater switches. Leave one off and you get half the heat at half the power. I found that to be sufficient in most cases.

The only downside of the unit is the noise. The white noise from the fan is considerable in a quiet room. It isn't grating in any way but would require that you turn up your music or watch TV at a higher volume than you might otherwise in the same space. I'd prefer a quieter fan.

In comparing this with other portable heaters that I have, this unit produces the same amount of heat but costs considerably more. You're paying here for the fireplace appearance. If that's what you are looking for, there's no question that visually this product is far more appealing than your run of the mill beige colored heat generating boxes. But if the heat is what you're looking for, and visual effects are secondary, look elsewhere.

One final point of concern is the warning in the product brochure: "This fireplace is intended for supplemental heat and/or decorative purposes. Continuous use for several hours can impact the performance and life of the fireplace." This may be of concern for those who might think to use the product, say, in their home office for 7-8 hours a day during the winter or who put it in their bedroom to keep the room warm at night after they turn down the house thermostat.

I got this to supplement the window unit I've been using for years and ended up just completely replacing the window unit.

Very robotic design, it stands around 3ft tall and is in fact rather slim once you take it out of the packaging. Came with all the necessary accessories to get it running immediately. Hooking it up and putting the hot air vent where my window A/C used to be was extremely straightforward.

We usually power it up after my daughter returns from pre-school and set the temperature to around 74F. It usually shuts off at about 2am when the room and outside temps are nice and comfortable. The air is extremely cold around the unit and gets a good sized room down to a nice temp really fast. It seems very quiet during the day with all the other sounds and my daughter has slept like a baby ever since we got it. I does emit a low hum when it's cooling but otherwise the fan sound is not noticeable to me. You can turn it on high for a few minutes but after awhile, that's overkill. It does a great job on a low fan setting once the room is almost at the temp you want it at.

I really like the idea of not having to use central air like in our old apartment. I think over time the utility savings will easily cover the cost of the unit. The best part is I can bring it with us if we ever move.

It's worked excellently for a couple of weeks now and I may just end up getting another for our own room.

This has been a lifesaver during hot summer days. I agree with the negative reviews about it being noisy, but I have it in my bedroom and I got used to it after 2 nights. I sleep through it now. The LED is also very bright, but not so much that it keeps me awake. I took off a star because of the useless window mount. The hoses weren't long enough for it to reach my window, so I went to Home Depot to build a rig. Replacement hoses are EXPENSIVE, so I didn't buy them. The screws are very short and pop right out of the cheap plastic mount, so I'm using tape to hold them in place. I have since moved and now have casement windows, so I'm in the process of building a new mount in which I will screw the hoses directly into a piece of plexiglass which will sit in the window. I've read that this will work fine, so I'm not concerned about it. One of the negative reviews I read about this unit is that it failed to cool the space. It is designed to cool roughly 600 square feet (a small apartment) so it works fine for my place. I also use a fan to push the cool air into the other room. I like the look of the unit, as well as the fact that it can be a fan or a dehumidifier. I bought plastic tubing for the water collection tank, but it has yet to produce a single drop. The vent hose is doing its job.

I built a bar in my garage that is ~ 600 sqft. Now understand, it has walls and insulation but the exterior is corrugated tin and gets very hot. I started my journey of research to find a unit to make it comfortable. I looked at all sorts of options and spoke to several AC installers. Typically speaking, AC's are rated by the BTU's (12K BTU per 400 sqft) and I knew that 14K was not enough to cool down 600 sqft . I thought I would try it anyway because of the ease. When the unit arrived I took it out of the box, connected a few things, and turned it on (yes it is that easy). Just remember...there are two hoses in the back of the unit (intake and output). The output hose must be ventilated and the input needs to be left disconnected from the window. The intake is what pulls the air from the room, the unit cools the air, the cold air is blown back into the room and the hot air it vented out. That is basically how a unit (any AC unit) works.

Contrary to my thoughts, it works great. It is not real loud (as some say it is). Even in July with 105° Texas heat and 98% humidity this unit will pull the temp down to a comfortable degree. It will take about an hour and a half but it is well worth it.

UPDATE 7/2/2013

Ok this is the second summer I have had this unit and If you live in Los Angeles you know its been 95 to 105 degrees all week! Havent used this AC since last summer so this week we brought it out and hooked it up and it is still working flawlessly! No problems what so ever same sound level same cold output all the buttons still work and the hoses are still fine. So far for me this unit has been rock solid and I am still very happy with my purchase, if you intend on buying please read my original review below and spend a little time to hook it up correctly.

______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

I bought this AC after doing some research and the reviews here.

My unit arrived in great condition and after reading some reviewers say the hose attachment did not stay on with the screws provided I went to the hardware store and bough 8 bolts, nuts and lock washers as well as a plastic filler plate to fill the gap that the vent didnt cover. Total price $8.98.

I put everything together with the bolts I bought and threw away the screws that came with it, I can see how they would not be able to hold the hose connector properly they are just some short wood screws that go through connector to the window vent plate, not a very secure way to hold it on but oh well.

I turned the unit on immediately very cold air poured out now it wasnt very hot in the room maybe 75 but you could feel the difference it made. I will give a better review on its full performance after the summer which I feel will be a good test the room I have it in has direct sunlight all day and is the hottest room in the house.

The unit looks well made and is very solid the noise level is not that bad my portable unit is more quite than my window unit that has only 12,000 btu's.

So far I am happy but I will update this as the summer goes into full heat mode.

Do your self a favor and take the vent plate and one of the hose connectors to a hardware store and get the bolts this will save alot of cussing later on. I truly believe those wood screws will not last too long if there is any amount of pressure placed on the plate from the vent hoses.

Oh and one other thing the vents, I am not to sure why they are designed to go just straight up? I am going to make a hood to redirect the air a little more forward but I will try it the way it was designed and report back.

UPDATE 6/25/2012

Ok so we have neen through a few 90 degree days here and I have to say that there are a few things I have learned about AC efficiency. first insulation is a must a room the is not well insulated will not cool as well as a room that is!

My AC unit is in a room with a sliding glass door that gets full sunlught all day long so it gets pretty hot with the AC running full blast it got cool but not COLD, i mean it was comfortable but i felt it was at the limit of what it could do.

What I did was buy some solar shade screens and placed them in front of the sliding doors not the whole door just the upper half. The AC unit now does an a amazing job of cooling the room! The heat coming in from the window was canceling out the cooling from the AC so it never had a chance to do its thing. it got so cold in there on a 80 degree day I found my kids watching TV with blankets covering them!

So my final thoughts on this purchase are, you must assess the room and the environmental that this AC will be used in and use some common sense if there is a heat source in the room that will cause it to heat up the AC will only go so far to keep the temps down if you can help the unit by minimizing any direct heat to the room the AC will perform at its best.

When you are buying something this expensive and this heavy, packaging is a big worry.

The product arrived in great shape--as some have said previously, it was packaged in two boxes, so even if the exterior boxed appears a bit beat up, the interior box is in perfect shape. The exterior box was double thickness and the interior box was single thickness. The corners were protected by separate corner laminated cardboard pieces that ran the full length of the box. VERY impressed with the packaging.

We have yet to place the A/C unit in its final resting place, but I suspect everything will meet or exceed our expectations. If not, I will update this review.

A comment on the terrible reviews of this product, most of which claim it not only does not cool, but actually increases the temperature of the room(s) in which it is located: If you do not attach both air ducts to outside air, of course it will heat up the room--it is simply pumping heated air that is supposed to go outside into the room into the interior room. This is a simple problem of thermodynamics: FOR THE UNIT TO WORK, YOU MUST ATTACH BOTH DUCTS TO OUTSIDE AIR WHEN USING IT IN A/C MODE.

I needed a small, lightweight heater to warm-up the bathroom on cold winter mornings. This one one did it in spades. On cold winter mornings, this little heater quickly warmed up a freezing bathroom in no time. Before finishing brushing my teeth, the bathroom was warm and cozy to shower. A comfortable temperature was maintained as long as I was in the bathroom. This heater is small about 13 in. square and very quiet. And best of all, the price was very reasonable. What more could one ask for?

Small yet gives out a lot of heat. I had tried a few others that either were way too loud, or the temperature dial seemed "off." I do have it in a small bedroom, but it does a fine job.

We purchased the Skytech Fireplace Remote for a Heat-N-Glo with cautional optimism. Personally, we didn't think it would work, but it works fantastic! It has a few different settings and we have used all of them one time or another. I would highly recommend this product!

We had issues with our fireplace remote for about a year and kept fiddling with it, replacing batteries, etc. Finally we had enough and I googled the part number. I was pleased to find this at Amazon and prime to boot.

It was an EXACT replacement of both the transmitter and receiver. I followed the instructions and had no problem replacing the receiver. All the connections are quick connecting spades and are insulated. No tools needed. Just disconnect the old receiver and connect the new one -wire for wire. Hard to go wrong. The whole project, including reading the directions, took 30 minutes. It's been working flawlessly for the past six months.

I would have given this a 5 except for the cost. Just seems very expensive for what it is. I did shop around and couldn't find much better, so I guess that's the deal.

HeatnGlo remote was about $100 more. I read the review for the Skytech that said it would replace the HeatnGlo remote before I bought it. Got it and hooked up only two wires to the fireplace control and hit the "on" button. Poof, the flames came on immediately. A click of the "off" button, and the flames went off. Why pay $100 more for a HeatnGlo remote when the Skytech works just as well?

Received this items on time and it good working order. The instructions were sufficient and easy to follow. I was able to install it within 10 minutes, including reading the instructions and it worked great. Everything about this process was fast and easy.

I bought 3 of these to replace existing 25 year old wall heaters in a relative's basement. I was an easy direct replacement. Same exact size hole, same wire location, it was relatively simple. They heat very quickly. The only drawback to these new heaters is they are considerably louder that the heaters they replaced. Fan vibration could be improved.

I received the first unit and all went well wired it in place and tested fine.

I received the second unit the next day with some packaging damage and after repairing the bottom flange that had a small amout of damage and then wiring it in place to test I found that the control knobs are missing would like a way to just get new control knobs without removing the complete unit and sending it back.

This the cutest refrigerator and works very well. However, it arrived with two quarter-size dents in the front lower door and on the side. That was very disappointing. I would have given it a 5 star rating otherwise.

Click Here For Most Helpful Customer Reviews >>

In spite of the previous reviews of issues with damage to the fridge, I decided to order one because I like the color red. And we needed a mini fridge. Plus I figured I could live with a few cosmetic dents or dings, so long as the fridge worked. When I received it, I excitedly extracted it from the box and packaging, then proceed to attempt to level it before plugging it in.

Except.

There were two major dents in the back two corners of the body of the fridge making leveling an impossibility (in fact, as I was turning it during leveling, the dented corners scratched my floor since the dents created very sharp edges). No possible way to level it, and having it wobble back and forth was unacceptable.

Thank goodness for Amazon's fairly easy returns, because back in the box it went and picked up the very next day.

I rolled the dice and ordered another one (I know, I'm probably out of my mind, but it *is* a cute fridge!) Here's hoping the next one comes without major damage I'll update this review when I receive it.

UPDATE 8/7/13:

Good News! Amazon made good this time. The replacement fridge showed up today, and there's nary a dent or ding anywhere to be found, cosmetic or otherwise. The return of the first one was easy (for me, I'm pretty sure my poor UPS driver didn't think it was easy lugging a 70 pound box to and from my back porch. He totally deserves a raise.) I did have to nag Amazon a little bit for the refund so I could order the replacement one, but the person I talked to was very accommodating and my refund was issued about 2 hours after I called.

I'm just glad I was planning ahead for the need of the mini fridge I don't need it for another week, but had I needed it *last* week, I would have been outta luck. So just a word to the wise give yourself two weeks leeway for when you actually need the fridge, just in case you need to return and reorder like I did.

Love the fridge so far, though the interior light and the separate (and actual) freezer compartment are what really sold me on this particular model (and the color, of course) in spite of the fridge section being smaller than if you got one that didn't have the freezer compartment. But I'm happy to sacrifice fridge space so I can have some frozen goods (like ice cream) in the freezer part vs. having just enough freezer space to only hold an ice cube tray like the others have. Priorities, you know. :) I bumped my star rating to 4 stars had I gotten this particular fridge the first go 'round, it would easily have been 5 stars.

UPDATE 8/16/13:

Well, that was a bust. The movers came and took our fridge on Tuesday, so we finally had space to plug in this cute little fridge to use instead of dealing with coolers of ice for the next 10 days while we finish work on our house before hitting the road. IT NEVER GOT COLD. The freezer nor the fridge had any cool air whatsoever.

At first it felt like it was getting cool on the interior, so before going to bed Tuesday night I (foolishly) transferred the lunch meat and cheese from the cooler to the little fridge assuming it would be completely cold by morning, especially since I put it on the coldest setting. No such luck. So I basically threw out about $40 in the trash because naturally the lunch meat and cheese sat in warmth all night long. So back to Amazon it goes, and this time I am NOT going to get a new one.

In fact, the hubby stopped by a local store yesterday and bought a totally different mini fridge with freezer (for less money) and that one not only had no dents, but started cooling right away so much so, the freezer was able to freeze things without having to wait 24 hours for it to be totally up and running.

Sad to say I'm reducing my star rating to 1 star since this has been a fiasco from the start. I do NOT recommend this fridge save your money and buy something that will not be damaged and work from the get-go.

Best Deals on Nostalgia Electrics RRF325HNRED Retro Series 3.1 cu. ft. Compact

Love the product, but they failed to write on the shipping box not to tip this product. The two thin boxes provide little protection and this item arrives with plenty of dings and dents. Poor packing means you will probably wind up with a few unsightly marks. Fridge has been running nonstop, may be from being tossed about in shipping.

Honest reviews on Nostalgia Electrics RRF325HNRED Retro Series 3.1 cu. ft. Compact

the light in the frig worked, but that was it. Hope the replacement coming this week works and isn't damaged during shipment like others have experienced. Amazon should label the box appropriately so it's not tossed around. My daughters first year in college experienced the issues of ordering appliances online. Love the looks of the frig and freezer and Amazons replacement procedure, however, the shipment should go out next day and the manufacturer should be billed for the cost. CaveMan

Update Sept 29, 2013: Received the replacement before promised and the return couldn't be made easier. The replacement frig works as expected, however, some of the handle screw holds were not fully drilled, so I just added a quick bit to finish the job. Kids love the freezer convenience.

I purchased two of these thermostats through the Amazon website and installed them just before the start of the Memorial Day weekend. I am very pleased with both thermostats, but I did encounter a problem during the install of the upstairs thermostat. Although I had flipped the breakers labeled for the upstairs and downstairs heat pumps to the off position at the panel, the upstairs heat pump was still receiving power, because I blew a fuse in the heat pump during the install. Obviously this problem was caused by a lack of due diligence on my part ensuring that the power to the heat pump and to the thermostat was really off. My wife and I went without air conditioning to the upstairs of our home for approximately 30 hours before a service technician arrived to find and replace the blown fuse.

If you have a volt ohm meter, I suggest that you verify that there is no power to the thermostat prior to the install. In doing the install yourself, you may find that you are at the mercy of the wiring provided for your old thermostat. For example, on our old downstairs thermostat, there was no common wire. When the heat pump (air conditioner) is on, the lead for the furnace is used as the common. When the furnace is on, then the wire for the air-conditioning is used as the common. Without a common lead as a reference, it was not possible to measure the voltage to our downstairs thermostat when neither the air conditioner nor the furnace is running. This led us to believe that we had no power to the thermostat even after we had switched the breaker back to the on position after the install. However, the thermostat worked fine. The service technician explained to us that in the original wiring to our old thermostat, the common was missing and that was why we could not measure the voltage.

I called the Honeywell support number on the back of the thermostat installation manual, and a technician located in New Deli answered immediately. The technician was friendly and knowledgeable.

Two messages that may appear on the thermostat after you install it may lead you to think you have made a mistake when nothing is wrong. First, if you have a heat pump and the word "Wait" appears on the thermostat display after turning the heat pump back on, then this is normal. As a precaution the thermostat waits five minutes before cycling the heat pump back up after it has been turned off. Second, if the word "Recovery" appears on the display when you first turn the furnace or air conditioner on, this simply means that you have the Smart Response Technology set to on, and your thermostat has turned on you air conditioner or furnace to reach the target temperature that you set in the schedule.

With my old mercury-based thermostats, I could not be certain that the correct temperature was displayed. Nor could I be certain of the actual temperature that I was setting the thermostat to. If I left the thermostat set to a high setting while we were away on summer days, then the house would not cool off before bed time after we got home. All of these problems are solved by our two programmable Honeywell thermostats, and I saved over $40.00 by buying the thermostats through Amazon rather than Home Depot.

Easy to install and programming buttons are easy to understand. It is the display that is difficult to understand. Be very careful about the check mark before the days of the week. When you make a temperature input it will apply to EVERY day that has a check mark and erase what you previously inputted. You have to cycle through the days twice to eliminate the CHECK marks for the other days to enter in data for just one day.

There is room on the display to show you all your heating or cooling temperature settings for each day of the week, but they neglected to provide this so it is very difficult to review your inputs to be sure they are right and to correct for CHECK mark errors from above.

Best Deals on Honeywell RTH7500D Conventional 7-Day Programmable Thermostat

This review is from the perspective of a novice. I replaced an 11-year-old thermostat with this one yesterday morning.

Installation was not a breeze as the claim on the product package would like you to believe (i.e., "designed to install in 15 minutes or less.") We have a 5-ton split central unit with the condenser outside of the house, and the coil and a gas furnace in the attic. Matching the wires to the new thermostat was not that straightforward. Our old system has 5 wires but the Intallation Guide only shows an example with 4 wires. After failing a few configurations, I finally gave up and called for technical support. The puzzle was then resolved.

Programming was mostly simple and easy but not always intuitive. You do need to read the Manual to figure a number of things out. An alternative may be the 8500 Touchscreen model, which seems to have more intuitive programming based on reviews from Amazon users.

Overall, I would recommend this thermostat. Just make sure that you do your installation during office hours when technical support is available from Honeywell.

Honest reviews on Honeywell RTH7500D Conventional 7-Day Programmable Thermostat

First the negative...

The Installation Guide needs revision. I spoke to Honeywell about this and other complaints and hopefully these issues will be changed. BTW, they were very nice.

First problem: To set the system preferences is says to press the left button and then hold the middle button down for 5 seconds. It didn't work. It will work on older models, but on the newer ones they changed the operation of the unit so that pressing a button first turns on the backlight. Once the backlight is on, then press the buttons again to get the desired response. This isn't mentioned in the manual.

Second problem: Since I am retired, I don't need the "Leave" and "Return" settings. There is no way to cancel these. Of course, you can set the time for these to match the "Wake" and "Sleep" times, it just seems like added work and is not intuitive. Some of the lower priced models have the ability to cancel these settings.

Okay, now for the good...

1) It keeps the temperature very consistent compared to my old thermostat.

2) If I want to change the temperature I can do so and the programed schedule will still function normally at the next preset time, or I can put the temp change on permanent hold. This is great for those days that your bones feel a little colder than normal.

3) The display is bright and clear. I like being able to see the actual and set temps at the same time.

4) Once the unit is set up, operation is very simple.

5) For those that need it, it can automatically run your heat and cooling through the day to keep your temperature at a constant setting. Think Hot days and Cold nights! I suppose you could also use this to lower the temperature at night for better sleeping.

6) The Smart Response Technology allows you to wake up to the temperature that you want or to go to sleep at lower temperatures.

7) This unit gets its power from the furnace and only uses the battery as a backup. This eliminates the worry about having the battery die while you are away for a protracted period of time in the winter. I'm not sure why this would need a battery back up because if it looses power, it's because your furnace has also lost power. I suppose it's for people that want this controller, but don't have the right wires available from the furnace to power it. It also has a lithium battery to protect its memory?

8) This unit also has automatic daylight savings time adjustments.

Summation...

All in all, I really like this thermostat and would recommend it to anyone or everyone. I'm glad I bought it.

If you don't mind just running off of batteries or don't need 7 day programming, the lower price models are also very nice.

I didn't give it 5 stars only because I've only had this thermostat running for 3 weeks now with no hiccups. It's fairly easy to program for each day of the week and can have multiple daily start/stop times, too. I started by opening up the old thermostat while it was operational, writing down all the wire connections,(I had 8) and then emailing that info to Honeywell tech support. They responded within 2 days with the correct wiring for the RTH7500. Installing was easy. Make sure the power is off to the compressor/pump and no voltages are on any of the wires before you install this thermostat. Also, if there is a big hole where the wires come through the wall, make sure you plug it up as best as you can. This could cause your thermostat to turn on more than it should. Hopefully it will have paid for itself by the end of winter.

I really like my Lakewood 8320 Ultra-Quiet 19-Inch 300-Watt Tower Heater with Carbon Fiber Technology which is rated at 300 Watts. You might think that the 300 watts is not going to be enough heat for most rooms, and you'd probably be wrong. I estimate that it produces much more heat than my other "600 Watt" portable fan-type heater, yet it is totally silent, less bright than the infrared dish heaters and it does not produce any odors like ceramic and oil heaters are famous for. Just check with the Ace Hardware outlet supplier before buying or wait for Amazon to get the 8330 back in stock. I would estimate that the heat output from the 800 Watt setting on it would be equivalent to approxomately 2000 Watts on a ceramic or other type of heater--and you save carbon and the do the environment and your electric bill a favor!

Replaced a quartz heater, fan forced ceramic, and oil filled with this SUPER quiet heater. Quieter than the quartz (they buzz for a second on start up). Obviously quieter than a fan unit! Faster response than oil filled.

Uses only 800 watts instead of 1500 like others. A huge advantage in both reduced power usage and stess on the cord, plug, etc. This unit only pulls ~6.6 amps instead of 12.5 for 1500W (most likely your home outlets/wiring are only rated for 13/15 amps max...so 1500W is pushing it!).

This heater puts out as much heat as our other 1500W heaters!

The carbon fiber techology is awesome and a much better technology than the others.

I am ordering another one today, so that tells you whether I recommend it or not!

The seller and packaging were good too.

The only issue is mentioned in the other reviews. It has only one switch and only one setting. No problem for me, especially since it is only 800W.

I purchased a Lakewood 8330 heater last year and am using it for the second winter. This is a great space heater. It provides wonderful radiant heat at a very low cost. It has only one setting, not two as described, but don't let that deter you from buying it! I will be buying a second one this year!!!

I've had two of these and they work great. Then, after about a year, the on/off button breaks. I expect something to last for more than a year!

The Amazon description of this product is mostly fiction. There is only one (800 watt) heat setting, there is no thermostat. The auto shut-off, a button between the bottom of the product and the floor, is a dysfunctional design failure that only works on hard surfaces—turns the power off when placed on a low pile carpet. I returned it.

This heater is surprisingly quiet. I am impressed. It's not as flashy as more expensive heaters but the performance is just as good as any other 1500w heater out there. Living in MN I've pretty much tried every type of space heater. I've used other heating coil fan style heaters, radiator, micathermic, quartz, and ceramic tower heaters. This is one of the least expesive space heaters that I've bought and it performs very well. It's hard to find a good heater that's quiet at any price point, let alone one with a digital thermostat that functions correctly. This one is a winner. It has a 3 yr. warranty which seems to be pretty standard with most space heaters. FYI I actually bought this at Target for a little cheaper (paid the same with tax) and plan on purchasing a second one.

This seemed like a great by reduce energy use, put out some heat, and cool to the touch, as it was going in my 2 yr old's room. First unit arrived, worked great! Heated room, cool to touch, and didn't need to run constantly. After about a week of very limited use it stopped working. Seemed to be a control malfunction, would display, but not turn on. OK, defective unit. Sent it back, got the replacement quickly. Worked great FOR ONE DAY! It now powers on, puts out a weird spark on the coil, heats for 4 seconds then clunks out. Doesn't seem safe and doesn't work. Either they have terrible quality control or something is wrong with their design, because I can't believe a company could put out a product that fails this miserably. Fool me once... It's getting returned now, off to look for something similar that works (kind of the baseline requirement).

This is the perfect heater to heat one room. We use it in our bathroom before taking a shower. I like the digitial controls which are very easy to read. Also, it automatically shuts off if it gets tipped over. It is very lightweight and streamlined. It is a very good heater for the price.

This heater not only looks good in my bathroom but heats up the room quickly. Would recommend highly for looks and function.

If you want something that is cool to the touch, this will work. Unfortunately though, that means it does not put out a lot of heat. I put my feet right up against it on high, and it was not hot. The air was warmer than the room, but not hot. If you leave it on all day it may heat up the room, but I need to turn it on when I get to work and it would not be warm by the time I have to leave.

I received the mattress pad on time and securely packaged. The instructions are simple and straightforward. When first plugged in, the function dials did not respond, but remained fixed, flashing. I unplugged the unit, plugged it in again and retried the dials with success. There are two dials, one for each side of our king sized bed. Each side of the mattress pad functions independently of the other. There are 9 settings, ranging from L(low) 2,3,etc., to H(high). The unit has been in use for a few months. Typically, one of us will set the controls shortly before bedtime. Quite a luxury to climb into bed and settle onto nice, warm sheets. Highly recommended.

This turned out to be quite a HEAT generator and it's nice that it turns off after 10 hours. We use it much less than the blanket which we've gotten rid of.

The pad warms up nicely and cozy. The wires are noticeable when you touch it with your hand but not when lying on it. The dual controls are perfectly illuminated and adjustable. Auto off is a nice feature.

Honest reviews on Sunbeam MA7250-030-000 Dynasty Comfort Heated Mattress Pad

This is our first heated mattress pad used electric blankets in the past. I really enjoy climbing into a warm bed! We used to have our electric blankets on a timer so they would get warm before bed and shut off around midnight. You can't use a timer with the mattress pad you have to remember to turn it on. Also, there is no heat at the very bottom where your feet are. I would buy again because the heat is much faster and more intense than with an electric blanket.

This pad was easy to install, though I was a little annoyed that the instruction book gave different direction for different models but nowhere did they tell you what model you have. The skirt is voluminous, designed for very thick mattresses (you can't by any for thin ones anymore). I fastered all the corners down with straps as a precaution, but it may not have been a problem. At the highest setting this pad is too hot, but in the range of 4-6 it is perfect. The ten hour automatic shutoff works just fine. The pad appears fairly well made...it is made in China. This mattress pad perfectly met my needs so I would recommend it.

This heater is great. Puts out a lot of heat for it's size. Perfect for my small room. Has different settings so you can adjust to your liking. The thermostat feature works well even though there is just a dial and no numbers...you'll find the right setting quickly.

Only one problem, and for me it's a big one. After one week the oscillation feature stopped working. I can get it going again if I give it a boost with my hands, but it seems to be failing more often with time and I'm thinking it will stop altogether before long.

Stupid as it sounds, I am probably the only person in Singapore (a tropical country) who has a heater! My office is way too cold and attempts to tell office management to fix it failed. So i got this little heater and it worked just fine. Good decide a little loud but still a well design product.
