Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program I needed to replace my old waffle maker as it was a decade old. I'm glad I chose this one. All the waffles I've made with this have turned out crispy and delicious. The heart pattern that you get with this make is unique and cute. They waffles are smaller, thinner and crispier than those made by the waffle maker I got in college, but that's okay because you won't hear a complaint about these. You can control how dark your waffles get with the dial on the very top. The waffle maker only takes three minutes to warm up and three minutes to cook the waffle which is great as you can use this even when in a rush.

The outside is stainless steel and the inside is nonstick aluminum. Clean up is a snap and just as quick as making the waffles. I was extremely impressed with this machine and it doesn't cost an arm and a leg either. The only downside is that he cord seems way too short and it makes plugging in the maker a bit of a chore depending on where the outlets are in your kitchen. All in all though, this is a great buy and a happy addition to my family of kitchen gadgets.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program I've never owned a waffle maker before, so my previous experiences in waffle-making happened mostly at hotels, with their more heavy-duty machines. I immediately noticed one major difference: every waffle maker I've used before had a timer, so you could just pour the batter in and then basically stop paying attention. There's no timer here, and the way to tell whether the waffle is done is that the steam decreases significantly. Functionally, this works out fine; all our waffles turned out okay, and only one was a teeny tiny bit darker than I might have liked. It does make the process a bit more stressful and attention-consuming, though. It's not a huge deal, but there is obviously a difference between putting batter in and waiting for a beep, versus actually paying attention to the machine more or less continuously. But this seems to be normal for personal waffle makers, and as I said, it isn't really a big deal, just something to be aware of.

What did make it slightly more of a big deal was the fact that the cord is really, really short. We wanted to cook the waffles right at the table, so that we could eat them as they became ready while sitting around chatting all together. The outlet is really not far away, but it just wasn't happening with such a short cord, and we didn't have an extension cord on hand. So one person ended up off in the corner by themselves, supervising the waffles, which wasn't an ideal situation. Either a beep to indicate when they were done, or a longer cord, would have resolved this issue.

These are still pretty minor things, though. When it comes to what really matters, we were happy: the machine makes tasty waffles. I'm not sure how other personal waffle makers compare, but this one certainly gets the job done.

One final note about something that we found a bit confusing: the red light goes on when the waffle maker is plugged in, and the green light goes on when it's hot enough to start using. But the red light doesn't go off when the green light goes on. So both lights will be on together, indicating that the waffle maker is both plugged in and hot enough, when it's ready to go.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program I like this waffle maker.

IT makes heart shaped, or triangle waffles. The waffles come out thinner, crispier, than those made by our giant square waffle maker. This waffle maker stores easily, and the waffles are big enough to divide three ways, so that everyone can get started. We ran a short extension cord, and plugged this in at the table, so that we could start on waffles, and keep making them as we go.

Easy to use, easy to clean, easy to understand, and stores easily. Will still keep the large square waffle maker, but this is a great adjunct, and for large breakfast gatherings, we will have two in service.

Good buy, and maybe a perfect apartment waffle maker.

Honest reviews on Nesco WM-1300 Everyday Waffle Maker

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program Back in my divorce many moons ago, one of the material things I lost was the waffle maker. I never realized how much until I got this Nesco waffle iron and re-discovered the joy of homemade waffles.

One feature that is an upgrade from my old Oster is the setting dial. I made about a dozen this morning and tried various settings. Medium is about as low as I'd want it, otherwise, you're going to get a fairly limp and possibly undercooked goody. Just a few notches above dead center medium makes a nice crispy but still light and perfect waffle. There's a lot of room for different degrees, so those who prefer a crispier one have nothing to worry about.

Straight out of the box set-up was all it took (I wiped it off with a damp cloth before pouring the first batter in there were no discernible taste effects) and I was making waffles within minutes of plugging it in. Likewise, clean-up was a breeze with a simple damp cloth wipe, and if you use about 2/3 of a cup of batter, you should get a perfect waffle. The six heart shapes are unique and a fun way to keep mouths full while you wait for the next one to cook. I plan to get plenty of weekend waffle use out of this lovely device.

If I had to pick a complaint, it'd be that there is no recipe booklet inside, so I had to do a quick internet search for a waffle recipe. For those who have it down or have cook books, this shouldn't be an issue whatsoever. The cord is a bit short, but most kitchens have plenty of outlets, so again, no worries.

This is a great device and the price seems right to me for how much use you'd get and the savings off of store bought frozen waffles. Breakfast just stepped up in my life. Enjoy!

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program I'd previously been using a sandwich maker with waffle-insert to make waffles, and it produced thick, Belgian-style ones but was a little bit messy.

This Nesco model produces six heart-shaped waffles, but they are rather slim (more like pancakes) than the chunky Belgian style that many people prefer. Still, it's very easy to use and I had no problems with it. The ability to control the crispness (whether you like your waffles light or dark) is nice, and cleaning it up was easy.

I did notice that you have to be careful not to use too much batter, or it will leak out the back, but that's probably the case for any machine. Also, the instructions recommend using cooking oil spray on the metal pads and I'd suggest respraying them before every cook. When I put blueberries in my waffle batter, they did stick to the heating elements, so this machine is probably better suited to keeping things plain.

Still, everything tasted good and was cooked evenly and properly, so it's hard to complain. Just don't expect chunky, thick Belgian-style waffles!

Easy hook-up. Blue backlight is cool looking. Keeps very accurate temperature. You will need a neutral from furnace for the backlight to stay on. Just use a blank wire in the harness and hook to common on furnace and on thermostat (white). This is for gas/oil units. Heat pumps already use the neutral.

Did some research and saw that CR did not rate Honeywell the best. Granted, it does not have a fancy color screen, but then again I am looking for a thermostat and not a computer screen with a slide show. After a lot of research, decided to go with the thermostat since I had an existing Honeywell one, and it did support my heating and cooling system setup. I liked that it has the manual hold feature, the fan circulate option, the always on green screen (can be turned off), and the WiFi connection with a corresponding Honeywell app. Very easy to set up, no problems including wireless, and good documentation between web and manuals. Very happy with purchase definitely recommended.

This is a good purchase. Everything from ordering to installing to connecting to WIFI went well. This will be an energy saver which means more money in my pocket. The videos Honeywell has for installation are great.

I replaced an existing VisionPro 8000 thermostat with this wi-fi model. Installation was simple. Connection to wi-fi worked on the first try and the android phone app is great. Lucky for me, I ran a 5-wire thermostat cable when I remodeled a few years ago.

This is installed in a vacation home. It's really nice to be able to monitor the temp and turn it up before a winter weekend.

My security system also monitors the temp, but I have much more faith in this wi fi thermostat. Honeywell's VisionPro line has been rock-solid for me in every respect.

Honest reviews on TH8320WF1029 Honeywell WI FI Touchscreen Programmable Digital

Outrageous thermostat. LOVE IT! If you don't have a "C" wire connection on your boiler or AC unit, get a 24 volt transformer here on Amazon (about $20) and you can hook it up to that. This is a good choice: http://www.amazon.com/LockState-Connect-LS-24VAC-Adaptor-LS-90i/dp/B0071IWJ7G/ref=sr_1_42?ie=UTF8&qid=1365694701&sr=8-42&keywords=24+volt+transformer

In that case, you have two wires coming from the transformer. One goes to C on the thermostat and the other one to R, Rh, or Rc on the thermostat.

Heats OK if you can get it started. Seems company is having problems with a cold soak issue on their P.C. board, so they tell me. It takes about 10 minutes to get it going if you have turned it off and try to start it "cold". Mr Heater is suppose to come out with a new board to fix the problem next year. Also draft fan motor tends to have excessive vibration and make a considerable amount of noise.

Purchased the mr. heater 45k btu from my local lowes store on sale. Took about 3 hours between unpacking and converting over to propane with the conversion kit, installing the vent pipe etc. until we had it up and running. Puts out good heat, quiet and works every time. I would recommend getting a digital electronic thermostat as they seem to be more accurate than the mechanical style.

I purchased this heater from Northern after reading some reviews here and there. Several reviews noted poor packaging and damage upon arrival. I wasn't disappointed. There were a few dents and bent parts but nothing to warrant a return. My biggest complaint about the heater is that the blower behind the unit for heating the room vibrates alot. If you walk into the room you can actually feel it as it resonates in the room. I'm guessing the fan blade is out of balance. It made the unit vibrate enough to make the whole office hum. I did see another reviewer post something about the heater vibrating badly. I replaced the bolts for the cage that protects the fan and holds the motor with some vibration isolators which quieted it down considerably. Sad that I had to fix a new machine. I'm going to call and see if I can get a new blade sent as that will be much easier than taking the whole unit down and sending it back. Other than that the unit operates great and heats the room up quickly.

I hung this heater in a very large garage (25x36) and it performs amazingly well. I have 11 foot ceilings and it still warms it up on the coldest days. I highly recommend it.

Big Maxx sells the unit with a NATURAL GAS regulator or a PROPANE regulator. So the people at Amazon ordered the unit with a PROPANE REGULATOR. Naturally my building has NATURAL GAS so I had to change the regulator, a very expensive item. My heating and plumbing guy had just such a regulator and he tossed it in for free. These units are reliable and are easy on the gas bill. Very good indeed.

I just bought this dehydrator as a gift for a good friend. So why am I writing a review on it, and how do I know what to rate it? Because I owned one for many years! I just replaced my FD-60 with the new almost-square FD-80 several months ago. I did it not because my dehydrator had broken, but because I have a limited amount of room and the FD-80 holds more in the same space. However, my FD-60 went to a young couple who is financially challenged and they are saving money with it.

I've been dehydrating for 30 years with Nesco. I've been aware of Excaliburs and other more expensive dehydrators because friends have bought them. I have no beef with that, but my Nesco machines have worked perfectly and inexpensively. As with so many other kitchen appliances, a dehydrator ain't gonna do you any good if it's sitting somewhere, unused.

There are two things on this FD-60 that you absolutely want: an adjustable thermostat and a fan. There are others on here who have bought machines lacking one or both of these features and they've regretted it. You need a higher temp for jerky, for instance, than you do for bananas, etc. The fan keeps the hot air circulating and things will dry both faster and more evenly. Nesco has the fan on the top of these, which makes sense to me because that way food won't drip on it. L'Equip has now rebadged and started making the old Magic Mill dehydrator, but it's got the fan built into the base! Excalibur has it in the back as does Tribest, but that also means it takes more counter space. The top is easy to lift, and most importantly for me, it's very, very quiet. In my kitchen, using this FD-60 or my newer FD-80 I have to be right next to it to hear it at all.

Don't make the mistake of thinking you've got to have some huge batch of food to dry, either, at a time. Not so. The other day I had two bananas that were going bad and a couple of baking potatoes that were starting to get 'eyes'. While watching TV I sliced up both the bananas and potatoes, put them in the dehydrator and by the next morning I had banana chips and raw potato chips. I have some Roma tomatoes in the icebox right now that are doing in there some time today because they're going to go bad otherwise. I often use my dehydrator for such things and it's absolutely saved me wasting good food.

Another use for this dehydrator is rice! Anyone ever thought about that? You can cook a pot of rice, let it cool enough to handle it, then dehydrate it. Then, whenever you're making a soup or whatever and want rice in it, just drop the dried rice in the hot soup and in a few minutes you've got perfectly cooked rice in the soup. Not only much, much cheaper than 'Minute' rice, but also doesn't have that funky texture, either.

This FD-60 is a perfect size to get started with dehydrating. Nesco has a great guide that comes with it, and you'll find tons of information all over the internet to help you get started. If you learn how to use it wisely, it will absolutely pay for itself within a year. Good luck, and I wish all my purchases were so wise!

We bought a Snackmaster, Jr. about twenty years ago and never had any problem

with it. It finally died. So we looked for another one and we found this one.

The air and heat comes from the top of machine and circulates around the food that is being dried. It seems to dry the food faster than the old one and it is much

easier to clean. We really like it so far.

Best Deals on Nesco FD-60 Snackmaster Express 4-Tray Food Dehydrator

I purchased this dehydrator so I could take advantage of the fresh produce that is about to be in season in our area.

This is the second dehydrator I have owned. My first, a different brand, had no temp. control and the heat/fan unit was in the bottom. I hated the thing. The food wouldn't dry evenly even with tray rotation. This Nesco drys from the top and drys more evenly. I still rotate the trays but do not have to do it as often.

The only issue with this unit is like with most of the dehydrators out there, the drying tray ventilation spacing is to wide for some foods. I suggest buying the Clean-A-Screen inserts to use when drying foods that will shrink up a lot.

Overall I really like this dehydrator and would purchase another in the future if I cannot afford a more expensive unit.

Honest reviews on Nesco FD-60 Snackmaster Express 4-Tray Food Dehydrator

I have had my dehydrator for almost two years. I use it heavily (3-4 times a week) during harvest season and about once a month during the rest of the year.

I dry/cook a variety of items in my dehydrator. Granola bars, fruit leather, jerky, dried fruit and veggies. I love that I can adjust the temperature. The fan makes it dry the foods much faster than my old Ronco brand unit.

Jerky takes about 9 hours, apples take about 12, fruit leather (at my house) is never consistent in drying time because I just pour in as much puree as I want without weighing or measuring. This is a way easier method for making fruit leather than using the oven.

I bought 4 extra trays and extra fruit roll inserts. I also have a silicone insert for each of my trays. I have never dried anything directly on the plastic tray so I don't know if the dried fruits/veggies come off easily.

I DO NOT recommend ever dehydrating onions or garlic. They are very cheap to buy already done. The smell is very hard to get out of your house and it seems to stay in the plastic forever.

I read an article with food dehydrator recipes in Vegetarian Times magazine and got the impulse to buy a food dehydrator. Without doing a lot of research, I settled on this model. I have not owned a food dehydrator before, so I can't compare it to other models. I am generally quite happy with it, though, and able to tell you what works and what doesn't (for me).

First, the reasons I took off a star:

A) 1/2 for not having an on/off switch. As you might expect, items placed closer to the top part, which contains the heating element and the fan, dry faster than items placed at the bottom. You have to remove the top part to switch the trays around, and you have to just directly unplug the dehydrator from the wall during the tray rotation process because there's no off switch.

B) 1/2 for being difficult to clean. The trays are just big enough that they don't fit flat in my kitchen sink. One of the things I dry frequently is kale (more on that later) and the trays really need a good scrubbing and/or soaking after that. It's a bit difficult to do that when I can't lay them in the sink. (I am pretty sure my sink is a standard size.)

I didn't take off any stars for this next thing, but be forewarned that if you live in a small space, the smell of what you are dehydrating will permeate the space. This is not usually a problem for fruit, but some vegetables can stink. (I tried to dry onions once...) Also, for what it's worth, this dehydrator takes up a big chunk of counter space while in use. It also tends to warm up the kitchen a little (which can be nice on a winter day).

I've tried to dry all manner of things in this food dehydrator, and it does a good job for most of them (including pineapple, cantaloupe, watermelon, bananas, and other items to be mentioned below). I tend to gravitate towards fruits more than vegetables, but only because I'm not sure what to do with dried vegetables, whereas dried fruits usually make a good snack on their own. (I don't make jerky because I'm a vegetarian, so I can't say anything about that.) I did try to use the fruit roll tray once, and the texture was right, but it was way too tart. It's not the dehydrator's fault, though, I just need a different recipe.

There is a manual that comes with the food dehydrator, but I didn't use it. It's not that complicated of a device to operate. There is a dial on top with temperatures (I haven't measured them so I don't know how accurate they are); the temperature settings are also labeled with food types. I just turn the dial to the desired temperature setting (I pretty much always leave it at "fruits and vegetables" which I think is around 135 degrees F), plug it in, and go.

Dried apples take most of a day, probably at least 8-10 hours when sliced thin. I rotate the trays when the mood strikes, usually every 2-3 hours. (Dip the slices in lemon juice mixed with water before dehydrating to minimize browning.) I leave the peel on. Dehydrated apples last quite a long time (several weeks, if I don't eat them all first), even un-refrigerated (though you should keep them in an airtight container), and are addictive to snack on. I've tried with several different apple types, although Pink Lady and Honeycrisp are especially good this way.

Small fruits with a rounded or oval shape (e.g. grapes, pitted cherries, etc.) are going to work better if you cut them in half and put them peel side down, cut side up, in the trays. Otherwise, you'll be drying them forever.

Another thing I make quite often is kale chips. Rinse and dry the kale, toss with a little olive oil, black pepper, and Parmesan if you want, and they're done in about two hours (very little tray rotation required). (Don't add salt if you're using real Parmigiano-Reggiano or the kale chips will be too salty.) The reason scrubbing is required after drying kale (as I mentioned above) is to get the olive oil and little crusted-on pieces of kale off the trays. (FYI, if you make kale chips using Parmesan, your house will smell like cheese, and if you have cats, they'll go batty trying to figure out how to get to the cheese smell.)

Don't expect the dried fruit you make at home to taste or look like what you get in the store -you're likely not adding all the sugar and preservatives. However, it's also probably better for you without all that junk!

Anyway, for an occasional dehydrator user like myself, this one is a good option.

I have tried my best, in the past, to fry food such as chicken that comes out crispy on the outside, yet not scorched, and completely cooked and juicy on the inside. And no matter what I did, I just couldn't achieve those results. That is until to today.

I started frying a 5 lb cut up chicken using my favorite Paula Deen southern fried chicken recipe, and I have to say that it came out absolutely perfect. Light and Crispy on the outside (without any scalded parts) and juicy and completely cooked on the inside.

The fryer used just over a 48 oz bottle of oil, and I did have to do two batches to completely fry the 5 lb bird. The instructions warned that there may be some smoking, and odors the first time I used it, but there was none of that. All there was, was some steam coming out.

Clean up was very easy. Just let the basket soak for a few minutes and any extra crust will come off with a sponge. And the rest of it is just as easy to clean.

I would recommend this fryer to anyone who wants perfect fried chicken. Enjoy.

***** update! I just bought a second one as a gift for a friend!***This 2 liter deep fryer operates like a dream ! It reaches the perfect temperature for whatever your frying, and the results are wonderful! Crispy light outside....juicy and tender on the inside! It is a perfect size fryer for 2 to 4 people. It is VERY well built...solid and the lid and basket both fit perfectly. I looked and looked for a fryer that offers what this one does. It does exactly what it says it will! Don't let the reviewer who said he "some how got it for $15" he bought it used, folks....he must have and the seller didn't pack it well so it arrived banged up. My bet is that he couldn't return it to Amazon because they didn't sell it to him...a private party did. The fact that he posted a negative review to keep people like me from buying this fryer and enjoying it, is just how some people are. Ignore it....this is a beautiful, solid, perfect little fryer you will be very happy with! Enjoy

This is the best deep fryer I've used, yet. It fries catfish, shrimp, French fries, and sweet potato fries so perfectly. I love the lift basket, too. I was really impressed with the easy clean-up. The price is also very reasonable. Overall, if you are looking for a good, reliable, easy-to-clean deep fryer for home use, get this one. It shipped very fast, too. Thanks so much.

Honest reviews on Deep Fryer By Chefman: Procook Professional Style Soft Touch Deep

This unit is not very well made and underside of the lid has very flimsy metal the vents dent and bend with no effort. The capacity of the basket is good, but when you drop the basket down in the oil, it only covers up to about half of the basket, not the entire thing, but the oil is up to the Max mark in the pan. i have made some french fries a couple of times in this fryer, but they dont turn out as well as with other fryers i have used. I would spend a little more to get a better quality unit personally.

My biggest complaint is that it states a 2 liter capacity but that is for the oil not the basket; which is more like 1 liter!! I was frying porgies and had to fry them one at a time due to the small basket. I've poured in all this oil and the basket doesn't even submerge all the way. You are not feeding four people in one fry. You have to do in at least two batches but then the first batch gets cold!!

Cleaning it left me wondering if I was going to use again or even keep it. Like another reviewer stated you have to pour cooled oil into a pot or pitcher in order to pour into container for disposal since the bowl does not come out. Now I'm looking at a greasy bowl that doesn't come out to clean, ugh!! Clean without submerging in water for fear of water damage.

Upside is that it does fry nicely but don't feel that alone is good enough...

My oven has always been much hotter than the number on the dial. So, a while back, I bought this oven thermometer (Taylor 503 Connoissuer Line Oven Thermometer) which I hated because it was hard to read. So recently I bought this Sunbeam one and an MIU one (MIU #90069 Commercial Oven Thermometer) because it was 4 for 3 and I was tired of not knowing the oven temperature.

Then I turned my oven on to somewhere between 325 and 350F, put all three thermometers in the same part of the oven, and let it heat for a while. After 10 or 15 minutes, I opened the door and took a picture of the thermometers so I could get their readings at the same time.

The results were:

Sunbeam: approx 380F

MIU: approx 360F

Taylor: approx 380F

So, the 380-degrees have it. Anyway, my cooking experiences have led me to believe that my oven is more likely to be off by about that much.

The Sunbeam and the Taylor had the same temperatures, so the only difference between them is that the numbers on the Sunbeam are legible, and the Taylor costs three times as much.

Hooray Sunbeam!

I've never needed an oven thermometer before. That is until I moved to California and my apartment had an electric stove.

Me,only ever having used gas stoves, made the mistake of thinking that they were all the same. Well, my first meal in this oven was supposed to be meatloaf. I put the oven at 350, put the loaf in the oven and figured I'd have ample time to take a shower.

Well 10 minutes later, my house was full of smoke and there was a lovely black brick of what used to be meat in my oven.

After this little escapade, I was so paranoid about cooking anything in this oven, I would only set the thermostat to 150 and watch everything like a hawk.

Then one day, I'm surfing on Amazon and see this little beauty. I ordered it immediately. I now know that my oven was cooking at at temperature above 500 degrees (the thermometer only reads up to 500) when I so innocently put it on to 350 so I could cook my meatloaf.

The thermometer itself is very easy to read and can be put into the oven any number of ways, from sitting on a shelf to hanging from one. I am no longer afraid to use this oven and have made pies, cookies, cakes, pork chops, chicken and especially meatloaf several times now.

No more burnt food, no more smoke filled house and I'm getting ready to re label my oven thermometer dial to what the temperatures really are now (200 will get me 375) so the next person that lives here won't have the same problem.

Even if your oven thermostat is spot on, I would still get one of these, since you never know when it's going to decide to lose calibration and begin cooking at different temperatures.

Happy Cooking!

After I realized that my Sunbeam thermometer was off 10 degrees by testing it against other more accurate thermometers, I was told by Sunbeam that this thermometer is rated to be plus or minus 15 degrees of the actual temperature. Which makes this thermometer not accurate enough for my oven.

Honest reviews on Cook Rite Oven Thermometer, Stainless Steel

I bought this because my oven wasn't cooking things with any regularity, some things were done on time, some would take up to 45 minutes longer. This thermometer I have to assume it's accurate since as I mentioned, the stove has been acting strange has showed me that my oven temperature varies and doesn't stay constant at all. I hung it on the bottom of my top rack and it has never been in the way and I count on it. I will be buying a new oven as soon as finances allow.

Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Cook Rite Oven Thermometer, Stainless Steel

Try to find a better one. My oven takes about 8 to 10 minutes to reach 400 this thermometer takes 15-20 minutes to reach 350 it shows my oven is not hot enough even though food is burning, so I know it is not accurate. I have never seen a thermometer take so long to register a temperature. Its also a pain cause it doesn't stand up without constantly falling over, & hanging it always falls off the hook with little vibration.

This Oregon Scientific THGR122NX sensor is OK. It reports data back to my base station steadily, and so far in the four months I have had it, the unit has worked reliably. For indoor usage where temperature and humidity don't vary too quickly, I think this would be a fine unit. I used some humidity calibration standards and the sensor readings can be accurate if you are willing to wait for the sensor to stabilize over about 12-24 hours.

My main complaint is that the humidity sensor is not very accurate for typical outdoor use. I live in a climate that gets hot and humid summers. At night time, the humidity almost always goes to nearly 100%, and in the day time it can be quite humid too (70%). It would be nice to have an accurate outdoor sensor to know when it would be pleasant to open the windows without letting in too much humidity.

The first problem is that the sensor's reported humidity level hits a maximum at about 88%. Anything above this reading indicates total saturation. Loss of sensor range is fail.

The second problem is that once the sensor has been saturated, it takes some to dry out. This is known as hysteresis. The true humidity may be dropping, but the THGR122NX reports the same value for an hour or more. This is important when the outdoor humidity is changing quickly in the day-night cycle. Sensor readings can be off by more than 10%; calculated dew points can be off by 5-10 degrees F.

The sensor is probably good for indoor use where we normally don't let the humidity get very high, or to change very quickly. But for outdoor use it just can't cope very well with high humidity or naturally changing conditions.

Product works as expected. From my experience Oregon Scientific Weather Stations are one of the best. The batteries last over a year and they are very accurate. After comparing different brands that people I know had I settled on a Oregon Scientific BAR388HGA and am very satisfied with it. I bought this sensor mainly to monitor the temperature in a second floor room. The sensor is approximately 60 feet away, up one floor and through several wall from the main unit, and it work very well.

Overall decent product and displays. Loved the unit for about three months, then the sensor stopped transmitting. Changed batteries, reset, changed batteries again. No luck except when sensor is within 6 inches of base. Poor sensor makes this worthless.

Honest reviews on Oregon Scientific THGR122NX Wireless Temperature and Humidity Sensor

All of the wireless weather gear I have purchased over the last 10 years from Oregon Scientific performed superbly and this sensor is no exception! It is easy to set up, accurate and reasonably priced. It is also fully backwards compatable with older model systems (400 Mh)

Overall I'm happy with this purchase. It works as advertised and was pretty easy to setup / configure. I have 2 sensors setup so I can see the outdoor temp and the temp in my baby's room. One thing that really irritated me was that the remote sensors don't display the same temp. What I mean by this is that when I had both sensors side by side they were 2 degrees off in temp and humidity. They were placed 12 inches apart in the same room so that I could set them up and see how this all worked. I called the mfg and they told me that this is normal and that no 2 thermometers will ever display the same temp. I guess I just have to deal with that.

Review of Hunter 44760 Multi-Stage Heat Pump Thermostat

I purchased this thermostat because I like the programmable setback features as well as the ability to see how long the system has ran in a given day. However, during the heating season my heat bill almost doubled. I had HVAC techs out 4 times, under warranty thankfully, to check the heat pump and they kept saying it was ok. Finally the last guy who came out determined it was the thermostat. The thermostat will run the heat pump for 15mins (this is preprogrammed and NOT changeable). If it hasn't reached its set point within that time it brings in Aux heat until it reaches its set point. When it's cold you're almost always running on Aux heat. For me that was electric and you can imagine the bills. I have since went with a thermostat that has Adaptive Intelligence (Honeywell) that will only bring in Aux heat when needed based on an internal calculation. The Adapative Intelligence thermostats will also shut off the Aux heat when it gets close enough to the set point that the thermostat knows the heat pump can do the rest. This Hunter thermostat works great for A/C, just not for heat with electric backup (Aux).

I bought this thermostat a couple of weeks ago; it has been working well so far and has plenty of bells and whistles. Installation was fairly straight-forward; the instructions were a bit unclear, but one call to their support staff took care of that problem. This unit seems pricy when compared to other thermostats, but it was the only one that I could find for a multi-state heat pump system. But since I was able to install it myself, and it has been working well since then, I'm not particularly unhappy about the price.

Bought this thermostat yesterday to replace the mundane mechanical manual one on my Ruud heat pump system. Included instructions for wiring could not have been any clearer. Programmed weekly schedule in 10 mins. I would highly recommend this to anyone.

Honest reviews on Hunter 44760 Multi-Stage Heat Pump Thermostat

We got the thermostat for its programmability and the way it switches between heat and air. All those are great. BUT when the heat does run, the auxillary heat kicks on EVERY TIME. I have spent more time than I care to admit on the phone with tech support, then I found the review that explains that it is what this one does... in an electric heat pump, auxillary heat is VERY EXPENSIVE. So much for the energy star! We have purchased another...Our heat system had NEVER had its auxillary heat on in its four year life. We've replaced it and returned it. I'm watching for my electricity bill and worried...

We had previously installed a regular programmable thermostat for a standard system. Unfortunately we found out two years (too late) later that if you use a regular programmable thermostat with a heat pump system then you never actually use the heat pump in the winter you always run off of emergency heat which uses a ton of electricity and runs up the electric bill big time! We've since installed this unit and it works excellent. There are so many programmable features I don't even know where to start! This is an exceptional unit for the price you won't be dissatisfied!

I LOVE appliances. I'm picky about my electronic toaster, and pump style espresso machine, and we have owned several of these simple Toastmaster waffle machines for years. We keep 2 busy at once. We make a lot of waffles, and I don't know how anyone could find a better value, with great quality, than THIS.

The tefon works wellwe use less oil than our recipe says. But if you overfill it a lot, and it gets all over the white, well then that will take a little scrubbing with a scrub pad when the cooking is over.

No temp adjustment, but that's never been a problem for us. 3.5 min is a light waffle, and 5 min is a dark & crispy waffle.

Thought this might be fun to use with my kids they love waffles and I've always thought the frozen mini-waffles were ok but not great. Followed the directions to oil the griddle and then started with the first batch of Bisquick waffles. Easy and good and the kids thought it was cool. All you have to do is heat it till a green light goes on, pour the batter and close and wait till the red light switches to green. Turning it off means simply unplugging it. It is small and stores turned on it's side so it's very easy to pop into a cabinet and then find it when we want waffles. Price performer.

We've owned this one for years now. We're not major waffle makers, but every now and then on a lazy sunday it's fun to whip this one out. I'm thinking of getting another one so I can whip up 4 waffles at a time, I'd recommend getting the larger one right off the bat...

The only problem I've had is the little catch broke which holds it shut when stored hasn't been a problem, still works like a champ and it's cheap... You can use pancake mix, waffle mix or bisquick. And like the other reviewer said 3 min light waffle, or 5 min crispy...

I also don't use very much oil just spray a little pam to start and it's good for the rest of the batch...

Honest reviews on Toastmaster TWB2REGT Waffler

My Toastmaster Waffler makes the perfact waffles. The waffles toast up and get crispy and golden brown. It's an excellent choice for a waffle maker. Anyone will be very pleased to own A Toastmaster Waffler. Clean up is a snap. You just take a damp rag and wipe and you're done. I just love mine and I'm very pleased with it. Thank You for making such a GREAT machine.

I got this as a gift for my wedding a year ago. It worked excellently for a year, then one day, I went to turn it on and NOTHING not even an attempt at lighting up or working in any way. So it just stopped working for no reason. It was too bad because when it worked, it made great waffles, and it was nice to be able to make two at a time, so my husband and I could both eat, instead of waiting for another one to cook up before sitting down together.

Pros: 1) It works quite well keeps a very even temperature, which I think is the only thing that's more important than keeping a wine cool to preserve it. (My thought is the juice "breathes" through the cork, and thermal expansion, either up or down messes with the chemistry more than anything.)

2) It actually holds 8 bottles stacked if you remove the two top racks.

3) Looks very well-made, the digital temp (in degrees F or C) is great.

4) Very easy to use.

Cons: 1) Smelled terrible: like Bondo or fingernail polish at first. Because of the "breathing" that wine does (mentioned above) I recommend leaving it open out on the back porch for a few days before using it, and then with a bag of activated charcoal in it for a while (baking soda didn't help.)

2) It's loud maybe as loud as a regular refigerator running. The heat-sink fans on the back sound like a suped-up computer system, but what's worse is that they go on an off every few seconds (apparently precisely adjusting the interior temperature.) If the fans would stay on constantly, at least you could get used to it.

3) If the power goes off, it resets to 45 degrees which is way too cold and negates the benefit of Pro number 1. The last thing you want is a slowly-warming bottle going up to 65 or 70 in a few hours to then be quickly chilled to 45 I can just see the cork sliding back and forth like a piston on an antique locomotive.

If they packed it with a bag of charcoal, had a quieter fan that you could set to be on-continuously, and used non-volatile memory for the temperature setting, it would get 5 stars.

This is a great size for a vacation cottage or to fit a smaller space. It's sophisticated enough to set different temperatures for the different wines. It has an interior light and a circulating fan. The instruction booklet gives you the 8 settings it has for various wines. The wine cellar looks good, so you could have it wherever you need your wine for meals or entertaining.

Although it is quieter than other beverage coolers and small refrigerators that we've had, it still hums quite frequently. We had to move it away from our dining room so it wouldn't annoy us.

Received my 6 bottle Cuisinart unit for Christmas. The requirement that the unit works best at room temperature below 70 degress is plain silly. In Texas one seldom sets the house thermostat below 78 degrees. With winter full upon us my kitchen temperature is 74 76 degrees and the unit will not cool below 55 degrees with continuous operation. Tomorrow it goes to the resale shop along with a couple of other useless gifts of Christmas past!

Honest reviews on Cuisinart Private Reserve 6 Bottle Wine Cellar

I read alot of negative reviews but tried the product anyhow and I LOVE it. I will say the first one I bought did not hold the temperature. I called Cuisinart and they shipped me a new one, which I had in about 4 days AND they took the old one back with an RMA. I have no complaints it chills the wine great and the racks are sturdy. There are plenty of preset temperature settings along with manual if you need them. I do reccomend you keep it a cool room and out of direct sunlight as the instructions say. I definately reccomend this product to anyone that needs a small refrigerator.

I bought this product hoping to be able to help preserve some of my better wines during the warm summer months. According to the insert with the product, if the room temperature is 77 then you can't do better than 54 in the wine cellar. My house temps usually run around 78+ through the summer, so this unit won't even make the 54 setting or the 57. I have it set at 64 and it continuously cycles on an off (every 30 seconds or so) with a fan that's very obnoxious and not at all quiet as advertised. On the insert and in bold letters they state "This is a wine cellar, not a refrigerator." I'm not so sure I would even call it a 'wine cellar'...more of an energy gulper (approx. 100 watts according to the user guide.)
