I can't begin to tell you the abuse I've subjected this product to.

1Used it on my RV. Probe was outside from freezing to desert for 6000 miles.

2Took it up to Alaska and back, 15,000 miles.

3Used it to determine the temp. of my developing solution (very caustic chemicals).

4Now it's being pecked by chickens in my brooder.

I seem to never replace batteries in this. I can only remember doing it twice in 6 years.

Buy this product. Have no worries. It truly is a 5-star product.

2012 Update: Still works in my classroom. I think, after the nuclear armageddon, it will be the only piece of tech surviving.

After reading a ton of reviews, I decided all of the moderately priced digital thermometers had flaws so I went with the brand that overall seemed well rated (Oregon Scientific). I also read that remote sensors were problematic so I chose this model because it uses an attached (wired) sensor. I am delighted with the performance of this model. I followed the instructions and placed the outdoor sensor in a protected location (the wire fits easily under my window (even with it locked for the winter). I've checked the indoor temp against my thermostat and it is within a few tenths of a degree. I've checked the outdoor temp against weather.com and the local radio station and it is also within tenths of a degree. That's accurate enough for me! I love having the clock too and the back-lighting comes in handy during the winter when it is dark in the morning. If you have a nearby window to run the wire through, you really can't go wrong with this thermometer.

This does what you want it to. Accurately tells the temp indoor and outside and refreshes itself about every 30 seconds. What more could you ask for? Theres also a blue backlight so you can press any button during the nightime. It also functions as a clock with an Alarm but I dont use it.

I bought this to monitor the evening outdoor temperature. When it finally cools off enough outside, I turn the air conditioner off and run just the fan on fresh air. This was simple to set up and seems to work flawlessly. I like that a change in temperature registers very quickly in tenths of a degree.

The Oregon Scientific Thermometer and Clock is incredibly durable. I bought it from Targét 5 years ago and it still works as well as the day I bought it!

The LCD display is large enough so that it can be easily read from about 15' away. It has a backlight that you can turn on with the push of a button, which is conveniently located in front of the unit. The LCD screen has three lines for:

1) Time

2) Indoor Temperature

3) Outdoor Temperature

The unit has a 10' long probe for monitoring outdoor temperature (or the temperature of the location where you chose to place the probe).

Maximum / Minimum Temperature

The readings don't show the max/min temperature for the day. It only shows the max/min temperature *since these readings have been last reset*.

The Maximum / Minimum Temperature reading can be accessed with the right-most button on the front of the unit.

> When the button is pressed, lines (2) and (3) display the Maximum Indoor Temperature and Maximum Outdoor Temperature, respectively.

> Press the button a second time to access the Minimum Indoor Temperature and Minimum Outdoor Temperature.

In the winter I can be comfortable, but my feel cold, when working at my desk. I like to have a small space heater at my feet to even things out. The Impress fan fills this requirement nicely.

The fan control has only 1 speed, but features 4 settings, 1) Off, 2) Fan only, 3) Low heat and Fan, and 4) High heat and fan. There is also a thermostat control which allows you to specify how much heat you want. The unit is stable and produces a warm airflow which can be felt up to about 6 feet away. The relatively low fan speed means it is very quiet. (I can't hear it at all, but surely there is some noise.)

The fan is made of plastic, and the heat is calibrated to be low enough for this. I have nudged it with bare feet, but never found the unit too hot to touch. It does not seem to have a shutoff, for when the unit is knocked over. I haven't knocked it over yet, but I did turn it face up and down to check for a shutoff.

Other than the shutoff, the only thing this unit could use is an estimate of what temperature corresponds to the thermostat settings. It would be nice to have some idea what to set it too, rather than just picking a setting and adjusting if it seems too hot or too cold. As part of the instructions, this shouldn't be that much of a change, in an already good product.

I recently bought this desk heater for work. You wouldn't think it gets cold in Phoenix AZ but it does. I sit in front of a window and there are drafts. I wanted a heater that wasn't expensive so if it didn't work that well I wouldn't be out much money. I am very pleased on how it works and you control the temperature and fan speeds. The fan is quiet and I appreciate that when I am on a phone call. I really like this heater and I highly recommend it to those whose desk area is cold. Also, the size is great so it works well on your desk.

I purchased this heater last week to use at the office when it gets cold. There are two fan speeds for the heater and it can also be used as a regular fan without heat. There is a dial on the side that controls the thermostat.

The unit is quiet and really good at regulating the temperature. Most heaters I've used in the past seem to make the area too warm before turning off, and don't turn on until it's already too cold. This unit turns itself off and on frequently to keep the temperature consistent.

There was a "heater" smell when I first used the unit and it was a little stronger at the higher speed, but it wasn't overwhelming and was what I would expect from this type of appliance.

The Amazon description of the product was accurate, there were no surprises when I took it out of the box. I'm very happy with the heater and it works even better than I anticipated.

Good heater for the cost. Has multiple settings which can provide warmth or just a fan for any occasion. Also very quite while operating. Only reason I didn't mark 5 stars is because if you have it set on higher fan speed or high heat setting it has a strong smell when the coils are heated up. I have it for a small 10x12 room and hardly have to use either of those settings though.

Mine worked ok during the first two months I had it, but now the heating element seems to have shut down, completely and permanently. The fan still runs, there's just no heat. I've tried it on different days, with different outlets, and tried leaving it on for a while to see if it would warm up eventually but no luck.

Fyi, if it breaks after the Amazon return period (as mine did), the manual says you can return it to the manufacturer at your own expense and they'll send you a new or refurbished one within 10 days. I'm not doing this myself, though, so I can't report anything about how smoothly that process works.

I did quite a bit of research before buying an electric fireplace. I decided the best look for my home would be a cherry, corner unit, and firmly believed that any fire box smaller than 26" wouldn't cut it. This Dimplex unit fit the bill exactly. It was packed and delivered with care. The cherry finish matches the photo exactly, and the fire box is a perfect size with realistic logs and flames. Another positive is that the heater motor is very quiet, and my 46" flat panel TV sits perfectly on top. Now, there are 2 important negatives. Even though it was easy to set up, the entire unit is wobbly unless you anchor it to the wall, and I also believe that all the top end fireplaces I viewed, including the Dimplex I purchased, were over-priced by as much as $400.00. That said, I'm still happy with my fireplace. It looks great.

I bought this for my master bedroom and put a 37" TV on it. Its the perfect height and size. It has precense in the room and is the right size for the TV. In addition its great to use in the winter to heat up the master for those mornings you don't want to get out of bed. I also use it in the summer without the heat just for the ambiance the fire creates. The design is simple and beautiful. Its a very clean look and has held up great over the past year. It is wobbly free-standing, but when pushed into the corner it doesn't really move.

I ordered a 50 pint KUL from another store. MY basement had gotten very damp even though we did a have a small air conditioner in place. The KUL works great. Noise level is comfortable. You can talk over the appliance and be heard. It hums instead of hurting your ears. It has made my basement a lot more comfortable than it use to be. It has a nice appearance and the machine is easy to operate. You can use the bucket or use a hose which connects to the back and drains either into a drain, a tub, or a sink.

I have owned this KUL about a week. One day it did overflow but I mopped it up and the basement floor is concrete. I have no idea why it malfunctioned. I will purchase a timer if I can find one with a 3 prong plug and use that on days that I work. The bucket is hard to return to base after empty, but it does have a handle and empties much better than others I have owned. There is a delay of 3 minutes before the unit turns back on after stopping. Sometimes I have to remove the bucket and reinsert it because the full light does not got out. Its a minor problem. Otherwise, I am very happy with the unit so far. Its easy to use has a continuous on with Turbo and dehumidifies like crazy. I know it will add to my electric bill but that is better than having mold in the basement due to the very wet weather here.

I would recommend this machine over a Kenmore or LG.

At first it was great my basement never felt drier. The problem I have a few problems however. The thing that is supposed to detect when it is full broke after 3 months and got my basement floor soaked. I also have to empty this manually 3-4 times a day in the summer. It also upped my electricity bill by $50 a month

I want to try to put a splitter in my washer drain hose so it can just run continuously.

I have purchased and installed three of these thermostats in areas that need remote monitoring and control of the interior winter temperatures. All three have been very easy to install and configure to operate on existing WiFi home networks. The thermostat appears to have pretty good WiFi range (comparable to that of my Apple laptop computers). The user interface is very easy to use and the thermostat has a wide temperature range for user settable high and low temperature alerts. If an alert is triggered, the thermostat will send a user-configurable one time per hour, every 2 hours..., up through every 6 hours email alert to up to 6 configurable email addresses. Via its location/setup function, the thermostat will also give you the local outdoor temperature and humidity (no outdoor sensor is needed). You can also set up the thermostat(s) for remote internet access/control by multiple password-protected users (up to six, I think).

In addition to its excellent WiFi performance (no dropouts; always responsive to remote commands, auto recovery from AC power outages; no internal battery required), this thermostat has Honeywell's excellent Recovery mode feature. With this feature, the thermostat will arrive at the set temperature and time automatically; over time, it figures out how long your house requires to reach a certain day/comfort temperature based on the night/setback temperature and the difference between the two temperature settings, and the area's heat or cooling requirements. For example, if you desire the day/comfort temperature to rise to 68 degrees by 7AM, the thermostat may start the morning heating cycle at 620AM in the middle of the winter, but it might start the heat cycle at 645AM in the spring or fall, when less overall heating is needed to reach the set temperature by 7AM.

Honeywell has free thermostat control and alerting apps for popular smart phones such as the IPhone4/5 and some Android devices, but I have not tried these smart phones with my thermostats.

Daily, weekly, and monthly run times of the furnace or air conditioner

Reminder for filter changing (this feature is available on the slightly more expensive RTH8580 model thermostat, which also has a touch screen)

I set up a 4-zone system with 4 of these thermostats. I've been using them trouble-free for over a month now. I really love having them all linked to a remote control through a Honeywell zone control. I also love having control of the home thermostats through the internet and through my iPhone using the Honeywell THM6000R1002 Internet Gateway connected to the zone control.

(1) not internally (battery) powered, so you draw power from the boiler control. They say "no need to run wires" but this assumes that you have a 3-conductor already in place to supply power. If not, then you need to run a new wire.

(2) The specific model I got was a "contractor model". That meant that Honeywell would not give me any assistance in hooking it up. "It is contractor model. Call your contractor." Well, my TWO contractors had never installed one, so had no clue what to do. It was up to me, and trial and error.

(3) You do not modify your router/firewall settings. The tstat sends outgoing communications to a Honeywell host server, and you connect with that server a Honeywell site. The tstat sends out those communications about every 10 seconds, seem to be saying "Here is my temperature, do you have any changes for me?". You "remotely control" it by connecting the the H'well server, and that passes the instructions along as a "reply" to the tstat's request. I do not like that extra every-10-second traffic on my network. And I do not like the Honeywell server knowing everything about me.

(4) you are communicating through the Honeywell server. I wonder maybe if they will start charging someday for this "service". After all, is anything really "free"?

On the plus side, if you are willing to be under Honeywell's control, it does seem to work well, to remotely monitor the temperature, and to change settings.

This heater works very well. I don't need a "fan only" setting in the winter (see previous review). Anyway, I bought it for an uninsulated attic bedroom about 16x12. The description "includes a programmable thermostat with a 7-hour timer, allowing you to pre-set room temperatures for different times of day" is not true. This product is no different than other heaters that have a simple thermostat and a simple timer. You cannot "program" temperatures for different times of day. It doesn't even have a clock! No different than a Lasko which is much cheaper. I bought it to turn on daily at 5AM returned disappointed!

Was used very heavily but I still think that it should have held up longer, at least a full heating season. Was not worth exercising the warranty.

Overall a decent compact heater.

The good:

Puts out quite a bit of heat.

Timer from 1 to 7 hours in hour increments.

The oscillate feature lets you distribute heat to more than one room.

Quiet.

Thermostat handy and works as expected.

Remote a nice convenience.

The bad:

A power failure leaves ti turned off, not suitable for untended operation.

Setting the heater to low sets the thermostat to max.

Power on gets you the High Max settings not where you left it.

Timer only turns the heater off; it could just as easily toggle it; that is if its set when the heater is off it turns it on, if the heater is on when it is set it turns it off.

The ugly:

The remote icons aren't terribly obvious.

It counts in binary octal. e.g. the timer goes 1,2,4 so you get all the numbers with 8 button pushes, but if you mess up you have to start over.

An OK heater for the money, the thermostat actually works unlike some of the other small ceramic heaters out there. If it didn't have the power fail and early death problems I would have given it 4 1/2 stars.

We purchased this item as a chill chaser so we would not have to light our wall heater untill we had to. The temperature here is up and down, 40 one day and 75 the next. It works good for the large area we have it in, a front room dining room area. Its a little pricey but so far so good. We have used it about a month.

the temperature gage on this product cant be used unless you put it in maximum 1500. if you want to put it in 900 mode you cant regulate the temperature. also when you turn it off and turn if back on instead of being in low it is in high. so if the electricity goes out in the middle of the night i would have to reset it to low. i think it should be able to maneuver more easily and it doesnt. i was very disappointed.

This thermosotat may be very well suited for Radiators and other convective heating units that offer rapid heating BUT it was NOT designed for and is INEFFECTIVE for use with UNDER-Floor Heating Mats(As Amazon suggests and shows being purchased WTIH . .) Honeywell offers a similar unit TH115-AF-GA/u The operative letter being "F" for floor sensing. Yes, the unit will send power and warm the floor(as will a light/dimmer switch) albeit far less efficiently than the AF models.

So, just becasue OTHERS have bought the unit with a Floor heat system does not mean YOU should. Besides, there is REALLY no point in ordering the EXTRA Floor SENSOR if TH115-A 240 has NO floor sensing capability.

This is a very nice thermostat for baseboard heaters. It is easy to program, much easier than many programmable thermostats. It is quiet and works very well. The display is quite clear and large enough to be easily readable. Very good backlight. I particularly like the fact that it has dedicated buttons for various functions rather than needing to go through extensive menus involving multiple button presses to find a function. Definitely a product I would buy again if I needed a programmable thermostat.

I had a couple of the older Honeywell programmables for a two zone hot water baseboard system and they worked quite well. Since I moved into this new house I found out I couldn't use them on 240v electric baseboard heaters. Luckily, I just recently found these. The first thing I love about them is, unlike the older ones I had, they are a vertical format that perfectly fits the utility boxes. They also look good! They have more features than I really need and the overall cost for 5 units I have 3 now and will be ordering 2 more next month is more than I'd like to pay but being they are electronic and react much faster than the old dial control bimetal coil mercury tilt switch pieces of junk that were originally installed AND are programmable, hence worry free, they should pay for themselves by significantly reducing my heating costs this winter. The simple 4 wire installation was a snap having spent 22 years as an electrical technician helped a lot and it took only 5 minutes to swap in each unit. A quick test proves that they operate well. There is a relay click which will be noticeable late at night but I don't think it will trouble me much. This house is pretty well insulated so I doubt it will happen often enough to become a bother. Another neat feature is an `Early Start' option, available via dip switch that ensures the house will be warm for you by the time you get out of bed. There is also a nonvolatile memory that keeps your program settings safe in case of a power failure (no batteries needed). I'll sum up by saying that the convenience, increased efficiency, and general good looks make these thermostats a worthwhile investment.

The indicated ambient temperature on this thermostat is 3 to 5 degree's higher than actual ambient temperature. This was compared to two other digital thermometers placed next to thermostat. What happens is when thermostat activates the unit itself starts to warm up from the activation of the relay. This raises the temperature indication on thermostat hence effecting it's accuracy. The thermostat was set for 70 degree's in our living room and the actual temperature was 65 degrees when it shut off. I am returning thermostat and will start to look for something better.

I installed these thermostats in each room to replace the 20 year-old dial-type thermostats. These things are very easy to install and program, and work excellent. I've had them in for about 6 months now, and they do exactly what they say they will do. I would definitely buy these again or recommend them to others.
