Received the unit and although it was a bit larger than I expected, it met our needs, at least until it started intermittent, random beeping. After contacting the company and receiving a very quick response, I was told a certain number of units were defective in this regard and that I should return the unit for full replacement.

Thus far, the second unit seems to be working as advertised. If you order one and it has the "random beeping" problem, be sure to return it immediately for replacement!

I gave this to my neice for Christmas and they love it. It has been accurate, easy to read, and fun to use. The remote sensor is great! It's nice to wake up to what the temperature is inside and outside. Works just as advertised -I'd buy it again.

Best Deals on Weather Station with Wireless Outdoor Thermometer (31215)

Picked this up as an inexpensive replacement for a wall unit that died of old age. It was a bit smaller than I expected (should have read the specs more carefully). I set the outdoor sensor next to the indoor unit for about an hour. The outside unit reported about two degrees higher. As long as that remains consistent, it's easy enough to correct. There's also a min/max history so you can see temperature range over a given time.

The unit has a little stand for vertical mounting and this is probably a better way to use it. It could easily go on a desk or a nightstand. Be aware that you must manually set the time. This does not pick up broadcast time.

Update: After having this in use for a couple of months, I must report that the transmitter range is much lower than advertised. Even at a line-of-sight distance of about 25 feet, the receiver often can't pick up the signal. I've marked it down one more star as a result of this experience.

Honest reviews on Weather Station with Wireless Outdoor Thermometer (31215)

Although the product itself did not meet my expectations, the seller went above and beyond what I consider to be excellent customer service. It was my fault I didn't read the reviews and discovered this product to not provide the outside temp in an accurate manner. However, the seller offered to refund my money and allow me to keep the item since it does work well for inside temps as well as time. In this day and age, a seller like that who contacted me the minute he saw my original review and values those comments is rare.

Discount Danby 34 Bottle, Built-In Wine Cooler (Black) (34.06"H x 15"W x

Danby 34 Bottle, Built-In Wine Cooler
Customer Ratings: 2 stars
Buy Now
We purchased the Dancy 54 Bottle Wine Cooler in stainless steel and within 4 months of operation, the unit ceased to cool and one side overheated.

As Danby claims to have a one year warranty, we called Danby and found that since we had purchased the cooler at the beginning of our remodel and did not install the unit until the renovation was complete, the warranty would not be honored as we were a mere two weeks past our warranty expiration date.

We let Danby know that the unit had only been in use for under four months, whereupon we asked if Danby would not honor the warranty, would they at least sell us another unit at cost, at which point Danby stated that they would not. Too bad, so sad, you'll just have to fork up another $900.00 for another unit, sucker.

PLEASE NOTE that you cannot get Danby wine or beverage coolers serviced, states Danby customer service, as they are "contained units" which means the entire unit has to be replaced under warranty, not just the cooling elements. If it breaks during the first year, they will OSTENSIBLY send you a new unit. But who knows if they will even honor their one year warranty, based upon their reluctance to handle the simplest of customer service issues with us. It took days to get to a representative and even then they completely refused to stand behind their product.

After several tries with Danby customer service to no avail, we contacted the President of Danby, whom we were sure would make this situation right but were completely ignored. I'll bet he gets a lot of calls and mail about this very thing. Do yourself a favor and save on shipping put $900 IN A PILE AND BURN IT rather than buy any Danby product. Better yet, buy another brand, as we did. Our new cooler works just fine and it can be repaired if it breaks, as it is 21st century technology. Our new unit was cheaper, too, and is better looking.

Come on! It's a little fridge, not rocket science, and they can't get a $900 wine cooler to work for more than four months without breaking down? I'd be interested to hear from any other Danby wine cooler purchasers as I have a suspicion that these units are manufactured to meet planned obsolescence of approximately one year as a means of bilking the consumer.

Yes, you heard me, Danby, if you read these reviews: Your customer service reps were too practiced in their denial of warranty coverage for us to believe that this is an uncommon occurrence. We'd also like to hear from you, Danby, since we've not received a reply to any of our communications for several months now.

CAVEAT EMPTOR!

Don't buy one of these -I received one that was DOA. I could actually see where the copper line coming out of the compressor wasn't connected. Danby wanted to send someone out to fix it. They gave me three "authorized repair" phone numbers in the Bay Area, but none of them would come to San Francisco. After going back and forth between Danby and the retailer, finally the retailer took it back and send me a new one that works for now.

Terrible quality. Even worse customer service by Danby.

I'd never buy another Danby wine cooler. I can't beleive how loud this unit is. It is so bad, I have to unplug it when we have company as it is too distracting.

Honest reviews on Danby 34 Bottle, Built-In Wine Cooler (Black) (34.06"H x 15"W x

Not happy with the wine cooler. It is too loud, with disturbing humming in the kitchen.

Otherwise, the shelves are little tight for the mentioned number of bottles to be stacked.

Item looks somewhat "cheaply made" and flimsy.

I installed this wine cooler where I had an existing 15' cabinet/drawer. Install was easy, the fitment is great. It doesn't make much noise while running, about the same as a regular fridge. It's packed with lots of useful features such as: roller shelves, temp display with digital readout, reversable door, lockable door, LED lighting, etc. We are very happy with it.

I was hesitant to purchase this unit because of the lack of reviews, but based on the positive reviews of the company's other units on amazon I went ahead and purchased it on Saturday. The unit arrived on Monday with two day shipping and it took about an hour and a half to install. Be warned that installation is a two person job. The unit easily exceeds a hundred pounds and installation is not as straightforward as a smaller window unit.

Installation instructions are a bit confusing. It seems that whoever wrote them wanted to include all the details, but this is done at the expense of clarity. For example, the manual says to attach the side panels to the cabinet, but doesn't specify in which direction to place the screws. It becomes obvious once you think about it, but this is one of the details they fumbled. Otherwise, pictures are included and the parts were all labeled. FYI for anyone worried about minimum window height (which is advertised as being 18.5"), my window vertical opening was exactly 18.5" and I had no problems with installation. I wouldn't advise anyone with a smaller opening to purchase this unit, however.

During installation you can see and feel the quality of the parts. You don't get the feeling that they skimped on anything to save money, and the unit just feels very sturdy overall.

As soon as the unit was powered on, I was surprised with its overall strength. This is supposed to cool a living/dining area and kitchen (total about 750sq ft) in a very sunny part of the house, and it had no problem cooling to 74 on a 100 degree day with the low fan setting. Fairly quiet for its size, too. There is a very faint rattling noise once in a while, but nothing too bothersome.

I only took off one star for the installation instructions, but I am very happy with the unit itself, and wouldn't hesitate to purchase it again, especially considering the price compared to other brands.

This air conditioner works fantastic and is quiet. I would highly recommend this air conditioner to anyone who would like a great bargain for this price. 18,500 btu's is pretty powerful, but you do have to have 220 outlet. Luckily, my son is an electrician so he installed the outlet in about 1/2 hour.

SPT 18,500 unit has been in service for a month now. I was concerned about how the quality would be and was pleasantly surprised how well it has performed. Unit arrived in solid packing with no damage. I Recommend this AC unit.

After careful consideration and lots of research, we selected this unit to replace an existing wall unit that failed. The first shipment was damaged, in fact, there was freon on the bottom of the package. Amazon was great and getting a second unit out quickly and that unit arrived without damage.

AC unit has been installed now for 1 month and we are impressed. At 90F no issues with cooling our entire downstairs and keeping it at 70F. Only reason I gave 4 stars is due to shipping damage or else would have given a 5.

Would recommend.

I can not review this exact model as I bought my Comfort Zone Infrared Heater almost 3 years ago. This looks like the newer models out. I use my Comfort Zone Infrared Heater heavily in the cold months to keep my central heating down to a minimum. I have been well satisfied with the performance and the quietness as well as the aesthetics of the walnut finished housing. I keep a lamp and VCR on top of mine and most people think it is a table at first glance. It easily rolls into the closet for the summer months as I usually swap it for a real table.

I, too, have an older model from Comfort Zone. I no longer use central heat...just roll this from room to room. Does a great job. I live in Houston, Texas...so don't need to use it that often, but when it does it cold, I am very thankful I have this.

Thermostat was 8 deg. off. Want it @ 72 then must set @ 80. When on ECO mode the fan never shuts off, On high the unit worked well. Not a good product for the cost. Returned the heater without replacement. Still looking for the right one.

Honest reviews on Comfort Zone Cherry Infrared Quartz Heater

Yes, this quartz heater produces quick, efficient heat. We've had this unit for two heating seasons now and are happy with the heat it produces. The most unfortunate thing is that the thermostat is "out of control!" The only time we use this heater is when we are home (and awake!). The defective thermostat doesn't even come close to the temperature we set it at, so we do not use it overnight, or when we're away.

Very very disappointed in this product.

Within 1 week, I found that it did not heat my house as advertised.

I have stopped using it already and have gone back to forced air heating with gas.

This is a clone of an EdenPure but it is not as efficient.

I am out $300 on a cheap product that doesn't meet it's 'advertised

Johnson Controls A19AAT-2C Freezer Temperature Controller Reviews

Johnson Controls A19AAT-2C Freezer Temperature Controller
Customer Ratings: 5 stars

Since my chest freezer dials only allowed for temperatures of freezing and below, or 50 and above, I had no way of keeping my kegs cold enough to where I like my beer (35-40 degrees).

But this device has been outstanding. To limit the frequency of which it turns on, I placed the thermometer in a glass/bottle of water. That way, when the liquid gets to cold, that's when the thermostat kicks in and turns the freezer back on until the liquid is at the desired temp. Also saves the compressor so it's not kicking on as much.

This works!

My hubby and I live 100% off grid, we are using a small solar system, we needed a way to refrigerate our food without draining the battery bank (or our financial bank), in the beginning we simply used a small dorm sized cube refrigerator but that used a lot of power, we didn't use it very often.

I learned about converting a chest type freezer into a refrigerator using an external thermometer and decided to give it a try. We purchased this external thermometer here on Amazon (it's one of the cheapest prices I've found), we already had a small chest type freezer, we hooked it up and in the beginning it ran quite a bit, but once it got down to the temp I set, it shut off and now only runs about a couple of minutes an hour.

The way it works is simple, this is an external thermometer, you place the probe (that copper colored thing) into the freezer box, I placed mine about a foot from the bottom. Next you plug the freezer into the external thermometer, then you plug the thermometer to your power supply, set the temperature of the thermometer and you are good to go. I originally set it on 40F, then later dropped it down to 35F, I have used a point and shoot laser thermometer to test the inside temps of the freezer once it reached my set temp, and it is pretty accurate. Be careful with the probe, it can get kinked, carefully unwind it and place it inside your freezer box, some chest freezers have a drain hole in the bottom, you can run the probe through that, mine didn't have a drain hole so I just ran it in the back through the door opening, the copper wire is small and doesn't interfere with the door closing.

This works great for us, I decided on the non-digital thermometer because typically digital items don't like being hooked up to modified sine wave inverters (though this setup might not be a problem, it's digital timers that really have trouble), and it wouldn't take any extra power or need a separate battery in the unit, I set it on 35 degrees F and it works like a charm. There have been a couple of nights when we didn't have much power (several cloudy days in a row), our system ran low on power and we had to shut it down for the night, the freezer box kept the food plenty cold enough overnight, the next day when the sun came up, we turned it back on and had no problems.

Here are the pros and cons:

Pros:

1. It works great, the unit runs for a few minutes each hour. My dorm-sized cube refrigerator would run for 5-10 minutes every half hour (+/-), more often if I opened the door...

2. It's efficient, since it's a chest type freezer, when I open the lid, the cold air stays inside the box, and being a "freezer" it's much more insulated, think about grocery stores with their open freezer and refrigerated chests, cold air sinks and even without a lid, the food stays cold.

3. It doesn't take up much room, that's important when you live in a small sky castle...

Cons:

1. Being a chest type freezer, opening from the top, it is more of a challenge to store food inside, no shelves, I use plastic baskets, 2 medium sized stacked together and 2 smaller ones stacked together for the bottom of the unit. I just have to get creative about how I put my food in the box.

2. Another drawback to opening at the top, you can't stack anything on top of the unit, at least not for any length of time, you will have to move anything on top before you can open the lid. I placed a table next to the freezer that is the same height, that way I have somewhere to put things that I am placing in and removing from the freezer.

3. Condensation, these freezers do create condensation on the inside, so from time to time I have to take everything out and wipe it dry. I tried keeping towels in the bottom, but that was a mistake, the towels make a great substrate for growing mold and that smells horrible, so no more towels, I just wipe it out once a week or so... I also try to remember to wipe the sides when I'm getting something out of the fridge.

Best Deals on Johnson Controls A19AAT-2C Freezer Temperature Controller

I bought this to control the temp of my mini-fridge that I use to lager beer in. Basically you plug this unit into the wall and plug your fridge's power plug into it. The thermostat probe is placed inside the fridge and basically shuts off the power to the unit when a certain temp is reached. Because of the way this unit works, you have to set your fridge to the coldest setting. This unit would also be great to turn a deep freezer into a fridge.

Keep in mind if your fridge isn't capable of getting to the temp you set then it will run all the time and possibly damage the compressor on your fridge. Also keep in mind the probe placement is important. If you put the probe in the fridge next to where the cold air blows into the compartment, its going to kick off the fridge before the entire compartment has reached the right temp.

Honest reviews on Johnson Controls A19AAT-2C Freezer Temperature Controller

This thermostat control is very easy to use. You just plug your refridgeration device of choice in -I am using a small wine refrigerator that I am using for aging hard cheese that I make -and set the desired temp on the dial. I have a digital thermometer monitoring the temp inside, and the temp stays just where I want it, within 3 degrees of the set temp. This control unit seemed to have the best price point when I was looking for this product.

Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Johnson Controls A19AAT-2C Freezer Temperature Controller

I'm not using this for home brewing, but to use a chest freezer as my regular household refrigerator. It's much more energy efficient, partly because the cold air stays in place when you open it, and partly because it's better insulated. Until manufacturers start making home refrigerators in the chest configuration, the best you can do is trick a freezer into operating at higher temperatures. This product does the job. I stuck the outdoor sensor of my digital thermometer inside to check the temperature, and the dial was right on, with maybe three degrees of fluctuation each way.

If you use a chest freezer as your main refrigerator, be sure to get one with lots of baskets! Another issue is condensation. Upright fridges typically catch the water and drop it into an evaporation pan. Freezers don't have this, but they do have a drain hole. I keep the drain hole open all the time and stick a rag where the water comes out, and then use the rag to clean the floor.

The griddle was shipped very quickly, and arrived in good, boxed condition. However, I wish that I had listened to the reviews that said it was cheap. This griddle folds, and that is its only great feature. The plates cannot be taken off to be thoroughly cleaned. The nonstick coating has already started to peel, and I've only had it for a month. Additionally, the plates do not even brown your food--there seem to be some real "hot spots". Would not recommend anyone buy this one--go with the more expensive models!

Product works well especially for cooking pancakes. Good non stick surface easy to clean. Drip tray works well. Surface heats fairly evenly. Folding design makes it much easier to store than the rigid griddle we previously had.

Philips 431643 Hue Personal Wireless Lighting, Starter Pack Review

Philips 431643 Hue Personal Wireless Lighting, Starter Pack, Frustration Free
Customer Ratings: 4.5 stars

First off Hue is expensive and not something anybody really needs. However, it's one of those things that has a high cool factor and if your into gadgets whats $200 bucks. I am a gadget guy and had the $200 so I went for it. Hue arrived via Amazon, so he was right on time and a day early. I couldn't wait to get him out of the box and give him a test run. It was incredibly easy to set up. I mean really easy, so don't worry about that. First download the app on to your Ipad or Iphone from the Apple App Store. Secondly plug the Hue Bridge into your router with the included ethernet cable (you need an open port on your router) and screw the pricey bulbs into a fixture. Then push the button on the Hue Bridge and grab your device and start making rainbow colored rooms. Everything worked perfectly the first time, the router found the bulds and the app controlled the whole thing. Really very cool, it worked exactly as it should.

One other thing about Hue, it does not work with Dimmer switches. Hue has a built in dimmer system, so you need to switch out the dimmer switches or keep them on full power all the time. That is easier said than done as by habit you turn the lights off when leaving a room. Not having the switch turned on makes the light bulbs not respond, So you need to have all the lights switched on with power flowing. Hue then controls the power to the lights via the bulbs,

Living with HUE

Your whole life you are conditioned to turn off lights when you exit the room. You just flip the switch and its done. Same thing for turning on the lights, its easy and simple. Hue changes this simple everyday thing into a much more complicated process. To turn on or off the lights you must first locate your phone or iPad wherever you laid it down or worse someone else takes it away to another room. Once you find your Ipad/Iphone,. enter your lock code and then find the Hue App open it and then look for the turn off lights button. This drives me nuts, it be no problem if you had an Ipad at every light switch. This is the one thing that I think makes Hue totally not practical for anyone but a single person living alone. Imagine hunting down the iPad that your kid took upstairs etc etc.

This issue changed the relationship i thought I would have with Hue. I thought, this would be the future of lighting, sit back adjust the lights and live in a full spectrum of mood altering colors.

Reality is Hue traps you in a room where you can't turn on or off the lights without locating your phone! I was ready to kick Hue out of my house as he was not what I thought he would be. Then it dawned on my I was expecting to much of Hue, especially in my house. Hue became an expensive accent light here and there. We put him in some cheap spot light fixtures and move him around the house. I would take him into the bedroom and he would turn it into the glowing red hot love volcano. On Sundays, we turn the kitchen lime green and have breakfast on Mars, the kids love it! You can have a lot of fun with Hue just use your imagination.

Hue works great and it is really cool. Lots of wow factor, just think about the practicality of Hue in your home. For us it went from a serious lighting system to basically a toy we really enjoy. For my family, Hue has been great, it has brought us some fun times and it creates a lot of joy and laughter. What else could you want from any product.

I hope that my experience with Hue helps you understand the product better, it's uses and it's limitations. Thanks for reading.

At first, the only way to I could justify this $200 item for gadget junkies is to consider it a new fun "toy". Well, they are a TON OF FUN, especially if you add a couple of extra Hue apps. People love them and most buy their own set soon. However we quickly realized these are also enhancements to our home which are totally worth the price. Our expectations were exceeded and in 3 weeks we went from the 3 pack starter kit to 8 bulbs, yes 5 more bulbs at $60 each and we are totally happy with them.

Update Sep 2013: We added the Hue LightStrip over the fireplace, it's great at lighting the wall only. Hue app as of 1.4 now syncs scene timers on the Hue app between IOS devices.

Here's how we use them:

* Control lighting color/intensity for activities like watching TV (blue), entertaining (purple), cooking (various colors), etc.

* Automatically turn on Living Room (med/blue) and kitchen night lights (low purple) at 8:30 , bedroom night light at 11:00 (red). They all turn off 1:00am if we forget.

* No need to go to the wall dimmer to adjust lights as the evening changes, the iPad is also our universal remote (Roomie, which supports Hue) and our cordless phone (Bria) so one device controls everything.

* From bed, turn all the lights off with one tap, no more "who's getting up to turn off the lights".

* Multiple bulbs in a room on the same circuit are dimmed independently, much better than a single wall dimmer! Different areas of a room (doorway vs seating vs TV area) can have different intensities or colors. We have a deck with 2 bulbs, one near the door is brighter than one near seating.

* Use them as night lights since the bulbs maximum power draw is only 8.5 watts. When set low they draw about as much as a normal nitelight, 3-4 watts.

* Control lights remotely from iPhones wherever we are. Turning them on for security or our pets, or off when we forgot.

* The geofencing feature turned on the lights as we drove into the driveway, even with the Hue app closed!

* If there is an intruder we can turn any/all lights on from bed using iPads or iPhones which are always at arms reach.

* We replaced our dimmers ($45-60 each) and simplified wall wiring.

* My wife got the "disco" ball she always wanted in the kitchen (don't ask), but better, hue has strobe and other effects such as changing to music with additional apps.

BASICS

The bulbs replace a convention light bulb. They can display a range of colors and intensities, all controlled from an iPad, iPhone or iPod. I was very concerned to control something as critical as lights via wifi. I did not want to deal with issues for something that should always just work. Well, 3 months later and there have been no issues at all, even after power failures timers work perfectly.

OPERATION

The bulbs must have full AC power, they cannot be dimmed via wall dimmers. When powered off then on they are white, the Hue app controls everything after they are on. You should always leave the wall switch on for most or all indoor bulbs. However, there may cases where you want them powered off then on with a wall switch. For instance, we use an iPad to control on/off of all 5 inside bulbs, but 3 bulbs on 2 outside decks are turned on/off via wall switches while iPad controls their colors, etc. ISSUE: We had problems with electronic dimmers even when set full on that required us to change them to simple switches. You have to learn not to turn off the lights when leaving a room, this is a hard habit to break.

If you plan to install Hue bulbs in multiple rooms it helps a LOT if you have app devices in different rooms, then you can control any light in the house from any room with an app device. This makes a huge difference because without them you must locate your app device to change a light. Of course you could carry the device while in the house but most people don't want to do that. We were lucky to already have multiple iPads since we use them as A/V remote controllers and cordless phones.

BRIGHTNESS

We were surprised that when set to bright white they look brighter than 60 watt bulbs. The 3 in the kitchen are more than enough for normal activity but there are also spotlights over the sink and stove. Our decks are now much brighter than before.

SETUP

Initial setup is very simple and quick, we had it up and running in about 6 minutes, deciding what you want and customizing the first three bulbs may take 10-15 minutes. Here are the steps:

1. Download and install the Hue app on the iPad, iPhone, or iPod Touch from the iTunes App store, it's free.

2. Plug in the Hue Bridge into an ethernet connection with the included or other cable, No Wifi on the bridge. Most people will connect to a router but other devices connected to the router will work. In my case the Bridge is connected to an Airport Extreme in bridge mode which is connected to an ethernet switch on the other side of the house which is connected to a Zyxel router connected to DSL. If all that works with no changes then most of you should be fine.

3. Plug the Hue Bridge in the wall for power.

4. Once the bridge is active, screw one to more bulbs into sockets and power them up.

5. This step is needed for EACH iPad, etc. that has the Hue app installed: Start the app, then push the button on the Hue bridge.

6. Play with colors and intensities.

To allow syncing of scenes (you will learn them easily) between app devices (iPads, etc.) OR use geofencing (see caveat below) which will turn lights on as you get close to home (or auto turn them off as you leave) you must:

7. Setup a free ID at the meethue.com web site.

8. Go to the Hue app settings and login to the meet hue site. You can leave the app logged on all the time.

COST

They can save energy when used as timed night lights, and eliminate the need to install dimmers.

CAVEATS:

* Geofencing only works with 1 device, you can't have 2 iPhones using geofencing at the same time. Hopefully, this will be fixed.

* The Hue app groups bulbs into "scenes" for 1 click operation, but multiple scenes for a room can't be grouped together into a folder to simplify organization. Customizing "scenes" is a little cumbersome and could be easier, but we picked it up quickly.

* Hue can't replace all lighting because there are no hardware controls for them, some rooms are impractical to run from an app like a closet, bathroom, etc. I would love Philips to make a wall mounted a/c powered controller.

* Update Sep 2013: Syncing now updates scene timer settings between multiple IOS devices.

After only a month we are sold on this technology and will never go back, this is the future of lighting. We purchased ours at Apple stores since it was easy to bring back quickly if we didn't like them.

$200 bucks for 3 light bulbs? Hmmm... Well, all I can say is that if you are a techie and enjoy adjusting your environment (music, lighting, climate, etc) this is your gadget. One of the few things I have purchased that my wife is learning to use because she likes the impacts. The bulb over our infant in the kitchen gets a warm mellow glow while the 3 over her head get full blast energize. We have no regrets about buying the starter pack and 3 additional bulbs. It is not a need but if you can toss $300 bucks to the pile that is for having fun in life get them. They perform well, software is great and got it working on three phones without issue. Even adding the extra bulbs was easy. Most fun I've had since the iPad came out.

I received this product from my girlfriend for Christmas, and I have to say that it is the most reliable wifi enabled device I own. Since we've installed them, we have had zero issues with the connectivity. Another nice aspect of the design is that you can control them from your computer as well. You can also get involved in the Phillips Hue community, and sample other members' scenes, or even share your own. It's incredibly easy to install.

Another thing to mention is that the lights can either be turned on wirelessly or by a conventional switch. This is great if you want to put these in your overhead fixtures, but still want the convenience of switching them on and off without your phone handy -yet still have the ability to change their colors when you do. Extremely handy for lamps, especially those in different rooms, or areas of your home. And because they work remotely, you can check the app to make sure you didn't leave the lights on when you're away.

Don't listen to the poor reviews about them being to expensive, or how easy it would be to do it yourself. The ease and quality of this product alone makes the purchase worth the price. Controlling the lighting from multiple devices is a breeze, and being LED technology, these bulbs should last for well over 50 years. If you like gadgets and can afford this product, the hours of fun you will have will completely out weigh the price tag.

First off wow. I love these bulbs. Second of all these bulbs are married to the receiver they come with, how ever adding bulbs to them is not a problem at all, one controller can handle 50 bulbs trust me I only have one controller for the entire house, and the bulbs can be labeled anything you want like what room and what socket they are in... example: say you have two bulbs in your bed room one in the closet and one in the main area, you can name them on the app what one they are, or if you have a lamp like mine that has five sockets I labeled mine living room lamp bulb one, living room lamp bulb two and so on. Yes these bulbs are expensive... but let us look at this, how many other lighting effects can you use your Apple devise with, or any other smart devise with and how much are they? That's what I thought. Here is the skinny if you don't have an Apple devise don't fret they still work like a standard 60watt bulb using the light switch and give off the same wavelength (color) you just have to use a computer with internet and a wireless router to turn on or off or change the color. Energy savings, these bulbs (if you are using an Apple devise or computer to control them) use .3watts when "off" because they have to maintain a connection to the internet, as for when they are on most I have ever gotten mine to show is 6.4 watts on the brightest whitest setting, and if you just want it to turn on and off and look like a normal 60watt bulb, these bulbs use 5.5 watts. As for the app that controls it... how in the heck are people having a hard time with it?!?! The app does save all of your work, just be smart enough to press save instead of cancel and you have nothing to fear. If you don't know how to plug and play then the problem is not the app it is you. Instead of setting a timer on my phone I let my lights tell me. Set a time using the app and set your lights to change to a different color. When your whole house tells you about your laundry is done by changing the color it is really really hard not to take notice. You can control your lights from anywhere if you have an internet connection (yes even cell phones) and an internet browser. Going away for the week? Set your lights to turn on and off and exactly what lights to turn on and off. The control is phenomenal. Only thing the app developers lack currently is a random setting. Say you are having a party and you want the lights to go crazy like at a club or bar... currently there is no function to allow your lights to change colors randomly other than that I cannot complain. As stated before these bulbs are not cheap ($59.99 each) but they do use ten times less energy than a standard incandescent light bulb and two times less energy than an equivalent compact Florence bulb without the annoying yellow light and they last thousands and thousands of times longer than any other bulb and give you any color you want, think of all the holidays like Halloween and Christmas or Valentine's day the possibilities are literally endless. Give it a shot you will find yourself purchasing more bulbs after your starter pack.

We purchased one of these last year when our heat pump was running constantly, and costing us a fortune in heating bills. When we received it, I was sceptical but watched my meter, and received my first bill. WOW! My bill was reduced over $100.00 that month. I am a believer, so I bought one for my daughter in college, who loves it too.

The heater is powerful and blows air well. The problem is that a minor reason I purchased this was that I thought it would be quiet, but the blower makes a strange rattling noise. It isn't very loud, but it is noticeable. Worse, it is intermittent, so you can't even just get used to it.

While watching tv, it's perfectly fine, but once I'm ready for sleep, this heater is a bit annoying. I will probably move it to the living room or find a spot for it in the kitchen.

I recieved this product in the time they said I would and I love the heaters so much. I love the fact I can use a regular plastic soda bottle for the humidifier.

I got this unit to monitor humidity inside an enclosure in a laboratory. It works quite well for this purpose and the humidifier control functions as advertised to allow some active control. From a cost standpoint, the unit is a real bargain even if it is only used as a 2-point humidity meter. The only drawback to the unit I received was that there is a 4 degree F temperature offset in the readings (it reads low). Since the unit has a temperature offset adjustment, it is straightforward to correct this error in the unit. Nonetheless, I would not expect a unit like this to exhibit an error of this magnitude out of the box.

My whole house humidifier was setup to work only during the heating season in conjunction with the furnace. I live in Colorado where the humidity even in the summer is very low. This controller allows the humidifier to work independently from the furnace (still using the same ventilation system) and keep the humidity level in the house comfortable year around. The outside thermometer/hygrometer module makes the device smart enough that you do not need to change the humidity setting by hand for temperature changes outside (to prevent condensation issues). Installation and programming took me about 2 hrs.

Very easy to set up and use, very accurate control of the humidity levels and also has an excellent program that eliminates window condensation in very cold weather. Worth every dime!

I bought this to replace the controller on my LifeBreath 200Max HRV so I would have more control. The information provided was not enough to make the connection to the HRV since I do not have it also connected to my furnace or a humidifier. I called Honeywell and they refused to give any assistance. So if you do not know exactly how to wire this don't buy it.

I wish Apple made thermostats, they would put products like this to shame. The display is small, has very poor illumination, uses ambiguous and messy icons, and is joined to a programming procedure that would have been good 50 years ago. Doesnt ANYONE have any creativity in the US heating industry?

Great product,it has all the information necessary for the professional installer.

The thermostat has multiple use for different HVAC units domestic or commercial.

It's pricey, too, but worth the investment.

Without more information about this unit, you are wasting your time. Will it hook up S1, S2 wires? NOT ENOUGH INFORMATION.
