Removed bottom of my 12 cup Farberware Coffee pot and replaced this thermostat. Also cleaned up a little rust on a few of the terminals. Also used thermal paste between the new thermostat and the adjoining pot base surface to improve thermal conductivity. The original problem was that the coffee would get hot but not hot enough. I believe this new thermostat resolved the problem where the percolator runs a bit longer initially and the coffee is hot from 1st to last cup.

Little tough to get the existing wires off the bayonet locking device on the tab and slider but after got past that worked great.

It turns on and it turns off, that's about the only good thing about this unit. The temperature display reads 4-5 degrees higher than the actual room temperature and it continuously overshoots the set-point. If I set it to 69 degrees at night, I wake up to a hot house with the thermostat reading 78 degrees. What's up with that?

I love the sleek profile and large display. I love the fact that you can configure each day of the week differently. Four TIME settings are adequate for my needs. The deal breaker is the fact that there are only two temperature settings to choose from for the four time periods. There needs to be at least three for this to be an improvement over a non-programmable device.

I want to set it to hit 70 when my three-year-old is getting his PJs on and settling into bed for the night, have it drop down to 66 while he sleeps, bring it back up to 70 when it is time to get up get dressed and shuttle his sisters off to school, and from 8am-7pm I want that baseboard to stay off, so I'd set it at 50.

With this thermostat I cannot do this. 70 degrees is alright for two of the time periods, but if I set the other one for 66, that 2000 watt baseboard will come on frequently throughout the day. It might stay off if I set it to 60 on all but the coldest of days, but that is way too cold for my tot to sleep.

I don't see how this can be considered a programmable thermostat if I have to fiddle with it everyday to have it save any energy. If I had to do it all over again, I would buy a different model.

We just had two of these installed, I've been testing them for about a month. This is a very good product -works well, and our electrician said it was a breeze to install. Four daily settings is plenty for us. The manual sucks, which is why I only give it 4 stars. I have had to figure A LOT out on my own, and that was frustrating. But now that I've got the hang of it, I really appreciate the features.

I have had this product for a few months and find it gives out adequate heat for my use. I am a diabetic and my feet are always cold. I keep this directed at my feet when I sit at my computer desk. It warms my feet quickly and I then keep them comfortably warm by periodically turning the heat on as needed. I also sometimes place it on my desk for cooling off when I am too warm. I use the cool fan level for this and it is really great to keep me comfortable when I don't want to use my air conditioner. I really like this versatile product.

These space heaters will turn off for various reasons. I live in a leaky apartment with no heaters. This is enough to heat a small apartment like mine, but as of this morning I have absolutely had it with this heater. This is the coldest it's been this winter and I can't have this thing turning off while I'm sleeping. That's the whole reason I woke up and am writing this; I hate waking up with scratchy lungs from the freezing cold. I'm giving this product 3 stars because some of you might want a space heater that turns it's self off. I have noticed that it will turn off for the the following reasons: if it falls over onto it's face (which is great because who wants their floor to melt?), if there is anything too close in front of it, and if their is too much moisture in the air.

I purchased this around November 2012 and it died today while burning it's plug and my wall socket. I will have to replace the wall plugs and return the heater. It was a noisy heater, yes but it did get warm. It was NOT on when it somehow started to burn on half the plug. Thank goodness I smelled burning plastic and unplugged it before any actual fire. I will not buy this brand again if I can help it.

I have not had the problems that Moniker reports in another review. In an effort to keep down heating costs, I've decided to try space heaters this year, and so far, the Pelonis heater has worked perfectly. I've kept it on almost all the time. This does not mean that it's been pouring out heat the entire time. For much of the time, it's been idle, waiting for the temperature to dip low enough to cause the heater to come on. And it's worked perfectly.

I use this heater in a relatively small room--about 120 square feet--with small animals that I don't want exposed to too much cold at night. So far, all is great. I have two minor quibbles, but they are truly minor, at least when compared to the cost (under $20 when I bought it). The first quibble is that the thermostat is not very accurate, and there is no degree setting, meaning that I cannot set the thermostat for 74 degrees or anything like it. I have to set the thermostat by feel. The second quibble is that the fan itself is not all that strong. I've tried to use just the fan in order to test it, and let's put it this way: I don't think I'll be using this heater in the summer to try to keep cool. Still, as a heater for a small room, it's worked perfectly.

One additional note: As I write this, there is one other review, which reports that the fan shuts off if there is too much moisture in the air. I live in a dry climate, so I cannot say one way or the other whether excessive moisture presents a real problem.

We live in an area where we occasionally have freezing night-time temperatures during the winter. Heretofore, I would turn on our outdoor spa when the forecast predicted freezing temps and the pump would have to run all night. The good design, though executed in China, is a great value. I installed it myself to replace a 25 year old, 3 wire mechanical unit with no problem. Programming was intuitive and straightforward. I especially like the 1 thru 9 "swing" setting which controls how often the system runs to correct room temperature. If you're can tolerate wider swings, you'll save a little money, but if you're delicate, the lowest setting keeps temperature very close to the set point. And it's nicely made.

I had to buy a second one. As a landlord with quite a few thermostats to take care of, this low cost product is straight forward, full featured, and very easy to operate without reading complicated manuals or learning. It's intuitive nature, as well as full feature set, give me more satisfaction than others I have paid a lot more for. Plus, I like the blue background lighting. And, for a person who usually needs to put on his glasses, I can read this one at a glance without them.

Have had the unit a few months now and it is working great. Wiring instructions where a little tricky but I got it on the first try. To my advantage I was a industrial electrician for ten years. The programing is very easy. Being able to program the swing setting is one of the features that really sold me on this unit and it works great. A lot of the other higher priced units out there do not offer this feature and control to .25 or .5 degf. May make it a little more comfortable but starting and stopping is hard on hvac systems, plus the startup current draw will cost you more in electricity.

I looked at everything, from non-programmables to the high end wifi/internet enabled. In the end, I chose a simple week/weekend programmable for our family. Basically, I want the HVAC to setback at night and when away and to switch on in the morning and evenings when we're home. As long as I have that, 95% of the time it's perfect; keeping us at a good balance of comfort & efficiency. The other 5% is not worth worrying about as it's easily changed with a bump up or down with an override. That's a two button press on this unit; once to activate the backlight and once more to change the temp. It will reset on the next scheduled change. I just want to set it and forget it and that's just what this thermostat offers. For about $30, it's hard to find a better value. This is so simple to program as well. I've seen some similar units that are just too complex to figure out. This one, you likely can program w/o reading the instructions. If you need multi-stage control, you'll have to look elsewhere. I have three of these installed two on gas furnaces with AC and one on a heat pump. This offers filter change alerts and temperature swing adjustment control. Separate programs are stored for heat and cool, activated by a manual change over. In another home I had LUX brand 7-day units, but in the end, I was programming one day and then copying it to the rest of the week. I think a custom day to day schedule is good for one, maybe two people. In the case of the average family, that's just too complex to attempt to manage; it's just easier to set an all-encompassing schedule once.

Well I purchased one of these because we are leaving on a trip soon and wanted to be able to monitor the house while we were gone.

As far as the thermostat set-up goes it was pretty straight forward and the instructions covered most all situations that might be encountered. It took me 3 hours to get it going. However, I failed to hook up the 24v power so the battery died the first night. So the next day it took me about an hour to connect the 24v power.

As far as hooking it up to the WiFi it was confusing at first because the instructions were unclear how to get it to recognize the thermostat. A 5 minute call to the Help Desk resolved the situation and I was up and running in 10 minutes. Another 5 minutes to download the iPhone App and I was totally wireless.

I liked the historical capabilities thru the website and it was easy to make program changes thru it as well.

Overall I am satisfied and the only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 was the problem with connecting it to my WiFi system.

Addendum: I did have further issues with the installation but I have nothing but praise for the Help Desk. They have resolved all my problems and have had an answer to all my questions. Nothing but praise for them! BTW the thermostat works great and I would not hesitate to but it again.

Everything has generally been working great. Every now and then it doesn't seem to refresh properly when on the web site. The main reason I gave it a 4 instead of a 5 is I wish it had an Android app.
