Great heater unless you live above 4500 feet. Not recommended above 4500 feet as the pilot will not stay on. This is the same with all these type of heaters

I have had this LP heater in operation for a few weeks. It has definitely served the purpose that I expected. I have a similar heater made by a different company. When comparing the two, I have to say that this heater has some odor do it whereas the other does not. It puts out the heat properly and other than the odor, I am completely satisfied.

My husband and I put this unit in our new living room. It is not the most attractive unit but it certainly keeps our 840 square foot living room very comfortable. We had been advised to not purchase the stand to go with this so my husband built a stand that works very well. We like that there is no electricity required to run this as there are times when our power is out for extended periods of time and we don't have to worry about getting too cold. Great product for the price!

Honest reviews on Kozy World KWP324 25,000-BTU Vent-Free LP-Gas Infrared Wall Heater

This heater is great, its simple to install being well worth the money, our home was costing 300-400 a month using an 80% efficient furnace and now we are doing the job for 150.00 a month in gas. We purchased the fan kit for it and I love how that fan cools the whole thing down after the burner shuts off. The burner is automatic and the fan kit is too, some you adjust the settings for hi or low burners but this unit actually turns the gas on/off.

Our lives have changed as a result of having this heater. At this very moment, I can feel it on my back. It is a no brainer if you need an extra heat source. Wonderful! It heats (very comfortably) about 1000 square feet. I know it can do more but that is how much we have it keeping warm.

Sunbeam SCH720 Ceramic Heater Review

I'm very pleased with this small space heater, mostly because the thermostat works quite well. On the last "inexpensive" heater I had, the thermostat was practically useless, and I finally decided to get a new one as I couldn't keep an even temperature. This unit is solid, attractive, warms quickly, and maintains an even temperature. My only criticism is the bright red light on the front when you plug it in. This makes no sense to me -the light should go on when you turn it on, not be on the whole time it's plugged in. So first, there's no way to know if it's on or not if it's not blowing air, and second, the light is much too bright at night. I had to put a piece of paper over it to dim it.

We purchased this EdgeStar 80 Cooler in July 2012. Within weeks the temperature inside began creeping upward. We emptied the contents, and unplugged the unit, hoping to "reset" the thermostat. After a day we plugged it back in and it cooled down to 39 degrees. Again after several days the temperature began creeping up. We repeated the process, and noticed that there was ice forming in the back wall of the inside of the cooler. Over the next month we repeated the process, thawing and plugging back in.

We finally called the company today, Oct 24, and were told by the service manager that it only has a 30 days labor warranty. We would have to find our own refrigerator service person, have them look at it, and that person could call and order parts. Edgestar does not have service people they work with or recommend.

I explained that the unit had never worked properly, and he said there was nothing he could do, because the unit was more than 30 days old. He stated that the company was giving us "excellent customer service" by telling us to find our own service person.

The unit is worthless. The company, located in Austin TX is worthless. The service manager would not even direct my call to his superior, stating that I could call back as many times as I wanted, and he was the only person I would be able to talk to.

I had hoped that by buying a product made in the USA, it would be a quality company and service. Do NOT do business with this company.

UPDATE 9/2013:

After writing this review, and sending an email to the parent company, the "customer service" person sent me an email saying that if I would the refrigerator to Austin, they would do a repair. They would not send me a shipping container, or prepaid label. So I dragged it to FedX, paid $28 to have it boxed up, and sent it off. About 3 weeks later they shipped it back to me.

I had already replaced it with another brand, so I put it in storage for a while. My husband finally decided to take it to his office. He has been using it for about 4 months now, and it is working fine.

I still wouldn't recommend dealing with this company, however I felt it necessary to report that the refrigerator appears to be functional after repair.

EdgeStar 80 can beverage cooler has great capacity and runs quietly. It has had some problems in the few weeks we have owned it with maintaining its gasket seal, so temps have risen. We otherwise like it.

It looks nice and holds a lot of drinks, but over all I was hoping that the temperature would get lower than it does.

When the compressor kicks on it is rather noisy... I have it installed in my wet bar in my living room, and its louder than even my air conditioning. Over all its ok, but for the money I expected a little better quality.

Honest reviews on EdgeStar 80 Can Built-In Beverage Cooler - Black/Stainless Steel

I guess the bottom line is that this product simply did not live up to my expectations. I didn't by the least expensive models I found because I was afraid they would not maintain the desired temperature. This unit advertises a selectable range down to 38 degrees. Unfortunately, it has a thermostat that shows the actual temperature, which, in my experience is usually between 40 and 46 degrees, depending on the external temperature. To be clear, this unit is in an interior room in a very well insulated office building, but if the outside temp is over 8i0, the unit isn't going to be under 40.

Purchased at a brick and mortar retailer. Worked well for about four months. It almost went out in a blaze of glory when it shorted out dramatically and smelled like it was catching fire. Fortunately I was in the room when it happened and was able to unplug it before it did any damage.

Simple to set up, small, and safe. Bought it for the 80-something mother-in-law's room. Push button controls on the unit, control it's operation and this is good as I hate searching for my mother-in-law's lost remotes (bad enough that I have to find her cane or teeth). My wife moves it to the shower for the 80-somethings comfort --so it is easily carried too. A little more money for this one but it is quiet, easy, more-safe, portable, and WORKS!

Honest reviews on Bionaire Mini-Tower Ceramic Programmable Digital Thermostat Heater

I bought this for our boys room. I liked that it had a digital programmable thermometer. The one we had only had heat settings in increments of 5 degrees. I wanted to keep my sons room at 68 degrees so I bought this model. It goes on and off a lot and you can't see the temperature that it is set at unless you turn on a light. Next time I buy a space heater I want the display to be back lit. It is in our 4 month old's room now and it doesn't seem to wake her up (she's a heavy sleeper just like her brother. I've vacuumed and the dogs have barked etc. while she's slept since she was born). It keeps the room warm but it drives me nuts when I am nursing and it keeps clicking on and off every minute or so (even when the door is shut). It seems like it is wasting energy. I would buy a different one next time.

Cheap Venstar T5800 Color Thermostat

Venstar T5800 Color Thermostat
Customer Ratings: 5 stars
Buy Now
I did some research and was about to buy another Car***r brand touchscreen, but there were several concerned reviews, most notably regarding the lack of 'deadband' programming control (more on that below in this review) which led me to have second thoughts.

I studied many brands, and determined the Venstar 5800 was the way to go. Using their downloaded manuals and software I was able to learn how to operate & program this thermostat, save the settings and schedule (as well as screensaver images) to an SD Card before the arrival of my thermostat in the mail. It came within 3 days, which is faster than the 7 days estimated when ordering.

Touchscreen thermostats need a 'common' lead from the furnace/air handler unit transformer, to power the device, which I knew ahead of time. I also purchased 50 ft of Southwire 5-lead wire from Amazon. After turning off the furnace & AC power at the breaker panel, I ran the new lead wire from the attic unit, matching the colors. Using my existing 4 lead wire, I was able to pull the newly installed 5 lead wire down the wall from the attic. (If you cannot run new 5 lead wire, there is a Venstar Add-A-Wire 5 wire to 4 wire adapter sold separately only recommend the technical savvy individuals should install).

After a 5 minute swap of the old and new thermostat, by the time i returned from turning the breaker back on the thermostat was illuminated and ready in the OFF mode. I inserted the SD card, went to the "Menu>(page down)> Settings> SD card > Import settings from SD card" and selected all items. It recognized that a newer firmware was used to create the SD card program, and I had to accept to install new firmware before it would load the schedule and settings. It took a few minutes to verify, erase old and write the new operating system firmware.

To see something other than a thermostat box on the wall, it is a nice touch having the available screensaver photos. Plus the benefit of seeing at a distance what the set points, unit mode and if unit is operating or off. Brightness levels when not in use can be dimmed to not be annoying, particularly with a separate setting for night.

I am impressed with the smart fan feature, which makes it nice in a home with teenage kids who sleep with their doors closed. The fan can be set to run 5 minutes per hour (at the top of each hour). I started with mine set to turn on between the 9pm to 7am times, if the unit is not already running. This turns on only the fan to circulate air for 5 minutes, preventing a closed room from being stuffy or having an aroma from being closed up all night. I am sure in winter modes this is something I may turn off, but in the Gulf Coast regions of Texas it is 95% cool and only 5% heat over 12 months.

Back to the Deadband, it is the number of degrees that the thermostat waits before it initiates the stages of heating or cooling. Simply put, this is how sensitive you want the thermostat in responding to temperature changes to turn on or off the unit. In the other touchscreen Car***r brand it, was only offered in a FIXED deadband of 1ºF (+0.5ºF / -0.5ºF), which means my unit would cycle more times per hour than I feel necessary. Venstar comes with a default deadband of 2ºF (+/1ºF) which cycles the unit less frequently per hour. Extremely few individuals are consciously able to distinguish one degree difference in air temperature anyway. This deadband is user adjustable between 1º to 6ºF.

Other key features:

you can adjust the number of cycles per hour during the schedule, and

program a minimum compressor "off time" before it allows to restart. This saves your compressor from being hammered when trying to start too soon after being turned off. It's hard to start a compressor with pressure remaining in the lines from the unit being run recently. (This pressure bleeds off internally through the cooling lines over a 5 minute time span allowing the compressor to start without any 'load').

I am adding the optional outdoor temperature sensor soon, so it will also show the hi and lo outside temperatures on screen.

**Update **

The outdoor thermostat shows current, and then the hi/lo temperatures for the present day,

I also bought the $53 Venstar Wifi Internet Key For ColorTouch Thermostats that plugs in the side of the theermostat. It is nice to monitor & adjust home temperature remotely on iPhone. Simple setup and makes this much easier to adjust the preset program temperature if coming home early.

Also while away on travel, if freezing weather is immenent before you'll coming home, you can raise the temperature to protect pipes from frost.

After using a Honeywell product on a new system I've got the 5800 up and running. The Honeywell with its "precise comfort control" was killing my compressor with too many start stop cycles per hour. With this unit I've programmed in a deadband of 2 degrees which has lengthened the on cycle.

Besides the functionality of the 5800 this thing is beautiful. The imported slide show is awesome. I had most of the configuration done and exported to SD card so by the time the stat arrived all I had to is wire it and insert the SD card and test the unit. I don't see how it could get any better....oh wait....Sky Port is coming online to allow for the the user to control the 5800 with an app from anywhere with internet access. an additional accessory to purchase.

I have owned this for a month and the A/C does not kick on as much it used to. It is easy to adjust once setup. The setup could be refined but once you figure it out there is not much to it. Alot of reviews the people had issues with the common wire. Alot of installed HVAC units have extra wires on both ends. I used one of the spares and had it installed in 30 minutes.

Honest reviews on Venstar T5800 Color Thermostat

It is a very neat thermostat with some draw backs. It works great, is very easy to set up, and looks good on the wall. The screen is a little smaller than I thought, which is on me for not researching better, and is a little on the low res side of things. Also, in the six months I have had it, it's screen froze up and wouldn't accept new commands. The programming continued on however. I pulled the face plate off and reinstalled it and all work great. It has some big bonuses, including being recomended #1 by CR. Its easy to set up, and works as promised. The screen is disappointing though.

After the purchase and install of the first Venstar, I was very pleased with the product and install. I purchased a second and, when copying the original settings I incurred a setup problem. I sent email for assistance and included my inquiry and phone number. As it was in the evening, I hoped for a prompt email the next day and was amazed to receive a phone call, within minutes. A very knowledgeable, friendly representative quickly diagnosed that the residential copy would not work for the second commercial setup and advised the change necessary. And, the rep stayed with me while the change steps were made. I was up and running in minutes after receiving the best support I have ever received. Wow!

My remarks have not so much to do with this thermostat, rather it is mostly about the wonderful services of Plumbing Planet who provided the item. I had used this model thermostat for over 13 years and was very pleased with its performance. Initially, the problem begin with the thermostat switching directly into the auxiliary mode when the compressor cycled in regardless of the outside temperature. Thinking I needed a new thermostat, I searched Amazon and found this model available from Plumbing Planet. I was surprised when it arrived in 3 days instead of the stated 5-7 business days. In fact, it arrived before the stated shipping day.

Actually, I found out (regrettably) that I needed a new HVAC and ended up using a thermostat that more closely matched the new system. I sent the White-Rogers thermostat back to Plumbing Planet and received confirmation that my payment had been credited back to my charge card. I was really impressed with the way this company handled my transaction, and would not hesitate to use their services again. I highly recommend them.

Regarding the White Rogers 1F82-261, this is a good thermostat. The previous one I had used for over thirteen years without a problem until bigger problems happened with the heat pump itself.

Had this thermostat installed by an HVAC company to go along with my new HVAC system in March 2008. This past weekend I noticed that the thermostat was not following its programmed schedule for either time or temperature for both the morning and late night settings.

When it was supposed to be at 68 degrees per the program, it would run to keep the temp at 72 degrees, and started warming up to that temperature 2 hours before the time set, and then maintained that temperature 2 hours past the late night time it was supposed to go back down to 68.

At some point, anyone with a server room will experience overheating problems. Whether it's caused by building cooling failure, or by overtaxing the air handling system to your server room, heat will be the source of trouble at some point in your server room operations.

I should clarify what I mean by "server room". I am not referring to data centers, which are specifically designed to house hundreds or even thousands of high heat generating server racks, with raised floors, sub-floor cooling systems, large UPS rooms, and days worth of backup generator power. In this case "server room" refers to a dedicated room in a small or medium sized business, where anywhere from one to about five server racks house the data servers for the business's computer operations. (e.g. Law Offices, Insurance Companies, Security Firms, Software Developers, etc.)

For many small businesses, the idea of a server room is an unplanned necessity, resulting from the realization that the receptionist's computer is no longer a sufficient data server for the entire office. When server rooms are set up in existing office space, as most are, they are usually provided the same amount of cooling as the "people space." The problem is that servers produce much more heat than people in an office.

Enter the Movincool Office Pro 60 Portable Air Conditioner. This unit provides five cooling tons of air conditioning to these undercooled areas. While it's not as easy to set up as the manufacturer claims, it's still a very reasonable option. Movincool makes it sound like you just roll it in, plug it in, and you're ready to go. In reality, it's a little bit more involved than that. Specifically, you need to have a dedicated 50 amp, 230 volt circuit available for this unit. It does not plug into a normal outlet. Depending on the location of your power panel and your relationship with your local electrical contractor, installing the dedicated circuit and outlet can cost as little as a $150, to well over $1000.

Another issue to take into consideration is that this unit, like all refrigeration units, produces condense water that needs to be drained. The Movincool handles this very well. It has a built-in condensate pump that will pump the condense water out of the unit, through the included 25' drain hose. This allows you to drain the water into a drain above the level of the A/C unit itself, such as a kitchen or bathroom sink, or even outside, through a wall.

After power and water drain issues have been addressed, the next important consideration is venting the unit. Air conditioners pump heat from one source to another, in this case air to air. While you have ice cold air blasting out of the front of the unit, you also have hot air billowing up from the top of the unit. An air duct mounts to the top to carry this hot air out and away, usually into the building air return system above your ceiling tiles. (There is even a ceiling tile adapter for the air duct.) The air that blows out of the top of the unit is pulled in from the side, thereby drawing out conditioned room air and replacing it with air from the surrounding office area. If this isn't a problem in your case, don't worry about it. If you have a sealed room that can't readily replace air being pulled out of it, Movincool makes an adapter that allows you to hook up another air duct from the building supply air (cooling register) to the air intake on the side of the unit. Problem solved.

Lastly, remember to take size into consideration. It's hard to get a perspective of the size of this unit from pictures. It's not like those little home units that are only a little bit bigger than a paper shredder. This unit is 30" wide, by 52" long, by 64" high, more like an entertainment center than an air conditioner. If you need to use the air intake adapter on the side, add about another 24" to the width, just to be safe.

While these four considerations definitely need some planning, it's still a very feasible installation, even on short notice; not to mention much cheaper than a permanent installation. Best of all, if you are in leased office space, you can take your investment with you when you decide to move to a new location. Overall, this unit is a great investment.

Well I purchased one of these because we are leaving on a trip soon and wanted to be able to monitor the house while we were gone.

As far as the thermostat set-up goes it was pretty straight forward and the instructions covered most all situations that might be encountered. It took me 3 hours to get it going. However, I failed to hook up the 24v power so the battery died the first night. So the next day it took me about an hour to connect the 24v power.

As far as hooking it up to the WiFi it was confusing at first because the instructions were unclear how to get it to recognize the thermostat. A 5 minute call to the Help Desk resolved the situation and I was up and running in 10 minutes. Another 5 minutes to download the iPhone App and I was totally wireless.

I liked the historical capabilities thru the website and it was easy to make program changes thru it as well.

Overall I am satisfied and the only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 was the problem with connecting it to my WiFi system.

Addendum: I did have further issues with the installation but I have nothing but praise for the Help Desk. They have resolved all my problems and have had an answer to all my questions. Nothing but praise for them! BTW the thermostat works great and I would not hesitate to but it again.
