I bought this heater several years ago. If the quality is the same, this is an outstanding and safe heater. My house has limited heat and I have used this heater to heat from one to three rooms. I just love it.

Buy Delonghi TRH0715 Radiator Heater 7 Fin Oil-Filled Thermostat
I've had this model (and two other similar DeLonghi heaters) for several years now. First one purchased in 1993. Still use it every season (though it's had a couple of switches and AC plugs replaced). Still puts out lots of heat. Very safe and quiet (only noise is a slight "cracking" sound as the oil inside warms-up). On low heat it can be left on all day and keeps a decent-sized insulated-room comfy in near-zero weather. Should the first one ever quit, I'd gladly purchase another.

The entertainment center is well built (quality wood pieces) and relatively easy to put together. It is also a very attractive piece of furniture. The reason I am only giving it a 4 star rating instead of a 5 is due to the side cabinet doors are open wood with no glass (which would have made it a much more attractive piece of furniture) and that the electric fire place was only "gold tone" fire flames and not very realistic looking. The fan on the electric fireplace was also quite loud and distracting. We replaced the electric fireplace with a 23" Spectra fireplace and added glass to the side doors and now we have the entertainment center we were looking for.

Reviews of White-Rodgers 1F80-0471 Digital 5/1/1 and 5/2 Day Programmable
It's a nice product but it requires too many sub-menu navigations to get it started. The blue light is nice but its intensity should be adjustable.
I should mention that (before I realized I could still return the unit to the seller) I tried contact the manufacturer via their web forms several times with no success. To be honest I didn't try calling I've wasted enough lifespan waiting for "the next available representative".
So, despite having a 5-year warranty and a large number of positive reviews, I can't recommend this thermostat. I do however commend the seller, Plumbing Planet, for standing behind what they sell.

This is a Emmerson brand not a White Rodgers. The wall mounting plate did not engage the actual unit tightly and it felt as though it would fall off the wall. I am also dissapointed that I had to pay almost $10 in shipping just to return it.Best Deals on White-Rodgers 1F80-0471 Digital 5/1/1 and 5/2 Day Programmable

This thermostat was easy to install and program, and worked as advertised nearly a year. EXCEPT…3 times, several months apart, its clock reset to 12am for no apparent reason. After the 2nd time I replaced the batteries, even though they'd tested good, but it happened again a few months later. I reluctantly concluded the thermostat was defective. Fortunately it was still within Amazon's guarantee period so I contacted the seller and returned it.I should mention that (before I realized I could still return the unit to the seller) I tried contact the manufacturer via their web forms several times with no success. After doing several weeks of research and reading 100s of reviews and comments, this was my choice. Installed easily in my home (single stage heat pump). I was so happy that I purchased an additional unit and installed it in my son's home (single stage air conditioner with gas heat). This thermostat works in either configuration with a simple switch change on the back of the unit. I'm surprised there aren't 100s or even 1000s of reviews on the thermostat because, IMHO, it is simply the best choice.Sunday, November 9, 2014

I guess it is a tribute that I am buying another one of these. I have had this unit for 7 years and it has been slowly dying for a few months. The weakness is the pushbuttons and slide switches that wear out. The real plus to this unit is the interface which is a lot easier and quicker than the almost entirely menu-driven units which take time to change. This one is quick for guests to figure out too. So the "hard" buttons are both a strength and weakness. Overall though, a nice thermostat which you may have to replace in a few years--unless the manufacturer has made any changes in it since I bought my original one.Best Deals on Lux Products TX9000 Smart Temp Programmable 7 Day Thermostat

This is a great thermostat! I have 2 in my Phoenix house. I couldn't find them for sale any place in town and really wanted to get the same thing, so I ordered off Amazon. I fiddled with it for a while and decided it was broken. I got on the Lux web page and typed in a little 3 line message, fully expecting to be ignored. Within 15 minutes I get a phone call from a service guy that makes some recommendations. I go home and try them, no joy. Went back to the same web page and type in message summarizing my results. Again with in 15 minutes the SAME person calls me back and arranges to send me another thermostat and a pre-paid envelope to return the old one! Now I know "the first one didn't work," however, getting that kind of help more than compensates. Great product, better service!Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Lux Products TX9000 Smart Temp Programmable 7 Day Thermostat

I have owned single burners in the past for several reasons. They are nice to have when entertaining, especially around the holidays. Also, when I make shabu shabu, fondue, or a hot-pot dish, a tabletop burner is much nicer that using candles or alcohol-type burners.
I occasionally help out a friend at trade shows, demonstrating cooking techniques, and we always use single gas burners. I bought this one for when I need a slow, low heat for a long time. Gas burners need to have the butane canisters changed fairly often where this one plugs in and stays hot for as long as you need it. At home however, gas burners will be a great back-up during power outages where this one would be worthless.
I decided to show how this burner works by making this short video. I hope that it is helpful to you! Thanks.
EDIT: I am including this information about the boiling water demonstration by request: I used a heavy-duty anodized aluminium pan; the water was room temerature (72 degrees Fahrenheit); and the experiment was conducted at approximately 700 feet above sea level.
My initial take on the SB30 was that it was very well built and sturdy. This is a great improvement over the Eclipse burners I have used in the past. My only complaint is that cord is fairly short, maybe 3ft long. The knob has a very nice and smooth action to it. The base is rather large but it is very stable with an 8qt stock pot on it, so I guess I can't complain too much about that. The burner weighs a lot. I believe most of that weight is from the metal burner itself. More on this later on.
I use this burner as my main burner as I live in a rental and the range is not so good. The burner heats up a little slow but transfers that heat to the pan very quickly. I believe this is because the burner has a lot of metal in it and that allows it to store a lot of heat. This is a very good thing for boiling water and sauteing but not such a good thing for cooking touchier foods like milk and sauces.
ONE YEAR UPDATE: The SB30 has performed great over the past year. I have not had a single problem with the burner, it looks and works like new. All in all I am very happy with it.
the temperature level you want--IT STAYS hot at that temperature.)This is the ONLY unit which gets hot enough to BOIL WATER and COOK PASTA --in a BIG POT, too--because large burner IS large....and QUICKLY.All the other units NEVER reach boiling temperature. This is because it's 1500. I, also, recommend this flat surface over the raised burner grids--which are hard to clean. These flat surfaces clean instantly. REAL metal-not plastic and substitute stuff--for easy cleaning and quality appearance. When we move and have a stove, again, I know we'll continue to use this
as an extra burner . This is the ONLY unit I would recommend over all those cheapie ones--whether they cost little or a lot.I don't write reviews very often-but just had to share and praise this one.
The most recent one had a problem the second time I used it. I was cooking poached eggs and some water boiled over the pan. The burner shot sparks about 2 feet out the side and burned my wooden counter, smoked, and shot out another big spark before blowing out the electrical breaker. The company should look into these issues and fix them. The second one could have been really dangerous.

I have been using an Eclipse single for about 3 years now. Before that I used another Eclipse model but it finally quit working. Recently my latest Eclipse started acting funny and so I thought it was time to fund a replacement and while I was at it, I thought I would try to find a higher quality unit. The Waring SB30 was well rated and not too expensive, so I grabbed one.My initial take on the SB30 was that it was very well built and sturdy. I've found the Waring Pro DB60 to be a solid double burner. I like the simple design with cast iron plates makes for easy clean up. The temperature control seems faster than other burners i've usedwhen turning down from 5 to 2 (high to simmer) The Waring cost more than other double electric burners on the market, but from the not convincing reviews of the others, and from using the Waring every day for several weeks i think it is definitely worth it.Honest reviews on Waring Pro Countertop Portable Burner
I can't begin to say how THRILLED I am with this unit.It is, simply, the BEST, PROFESSIONAL, COMMERCIAL QUALITY unit you can find. I've had other, non-professional units--which never heat hot enough--which causes sticking-and soon stop working. The extra $$ for this unit are worth every penny.I had given up on others-and this was my last resort. These burners heat and stay HOT for even cooking and frying. I use this double burner ALL THE TIME for all types of stove cooking-in place of of my regular stove-which had died. I didn't want to purchase another stove now because we'll soon be moving. ( It does take a minute or so to heat up--not a fault--it's in the construction--because once it does reachthe temperature level you want--IT STAYS hot at that temperature.)This is the ONLY unit which gets hot enough to BOIL WATER and COOK PASTA --in a BIG POT, too--because large burner IS large....and QUICKLY.All the other units NEVER reach boiling temperature. This is because it's 1500. This is the second identical unit I've owned. Purchased this product last year. It worked fine for about 6 weeks. Then it started shutting itself off. I tried 2 or 3 times to contact the company and never received a reply. Started trying to use it again this year. It worked for about 2 weeks then it started the same old stuff again. Read thru the manual, followed the instructions exactly. Still it doesn't work right. Still can't get anyone to return my messages. If you get one, I hope it works for you, cause if it doesn't, you're just screwed. There is NO customer support. I'll never buy another product from this company and will tell anyone I know not to either. It's a good deal but I couldn't use it because of the moisture that burning propane puts back into the air. Otherwise, it worked real good.

Review of VillaWare C5555-15 Pooh and Tigger Waffler
It works as stated and the kids loved the Tigger and Pooh on the waffles. The only down side I found was, that the side that is Tigger was hard to fill without it over loading it. It dripped out the front and made a small mess. It was easy to use and every waffle did turn out nice and brown and ready to eat!!!
The waffle iron works well. It cooks just a little slow, but evenly. The waffles are thin, which is good for kids. They end up being a little tough to cut. But they are so fun that none of us mind.
This is a great waffle iron.

The iron arrived quickly. Our children were so excited. I was worried that more would want Tigger on their waffle instead of Pooh, or vice versa, but the makers are so clever that each square has one on one side and the other on the other, so that every person getting a square can choose which one they want, and feel like they have both. Pros;
Good output of cold Air
Blows UP
simple controls
low price
Cons;
Very Noisy, nothing "Ultra Quiet" about this AC at all
Lacks a proper drainage hole in the bottom of the housing, can be drilled
Loud
w/o the drainage hole water pools in the bottom of the housing and the fan sounds like a paddle wheel on a steam boat as it spins through the standing water
Strange Sounds; rattles, squeeks, "paddle wheel", scrapes
Noisy
It's easy to install and comes with all the screws, foam strip and little brackets so, if you have a Phillips head screwdriver you should have everything you will need when you get home to install it. It's very easy to use as well.
Overall, a nice little a/c that cools nicely.
UPDATE 6/9/11: This is still working nicely for us, though, we started running a fan about 5 feet from this to "pull" the cool air down (as it blows up) as we have very high ceilings and that really helps it actually not only cool down our living room but, our kitchen as well. We have an open floor plan in our home with high ceilings and so far with the fan set up while this a/c is running has been keeping us more than cool enough.
If you want an a/c that's going to "freeze" you out this little a/c probably isn't for you. If you have a small to mid-size room and you want to be just cool and comfortable, than this will work; at least it has for us.
The room we were initially planning on using this was a small bedroom, but unfortunately it only extends up to 3 ft or so, which isn't long enough to accommodate our window (poor planning on our part). We instead put it in our living room, which is about 8x10. This manages to cool more than half of the room. If you're standing on the opposite side of the room, you won't feel the cool air at all. We've had this running on full blast for 5 days and it still hasn't gotten the room cooler than 78-80 degrees, but most of the time it's much hotter than that even. It pulls in so much humidity from outside that you're constantly sweating regardless, so that 78 is actually feels like 6-8 degrees warmer. In addition, it's incredibly noisy. We have to listen to TV with the volume on full blast and still have difficulty hearing it sometimes.
Before this I was living in FL where it is comparably humid, and I have used a 5,000 btu frigidaire window ac unit that was much quieter, did not pull in humidity and it easily cooled down an entire 700 sq ft apartment within 2-3 hours. It's maybe $30-40 more than this unit, but it's well worth it, especially if you live in humid climates. Unfortunately for us, the place we bought this at will not return it if the box has been opened, so we'll have to buy a whole new AC once we get the money.

We have this installed in a fairly large living room where we sleep in the summertime and it cools pretty well. It's not what I'd call quiet, but, it's not what I'd call really noisy either (to me it sounds like a box fan). I had one of these that lasted 3 years, I noticed that there was no drainage, I looked it up and apparently the water is supposed to keep the motor cool. But if its too humid it spits water and ice. I purchased a new one a few days ago because I know it going to be a brutal summer, and once again. no Drainage hole. So this time I took pliers and bent the lower pan out so water could drain, and it does. I think there is enough water in the bottom to keep the motor cool and with the bottom drain I created it does not spit water and is quieter. Seems to run very well. When they made this they prolly did not count on Ga humidity. It cools my 14x12 Room very well. It can be 100 outside and 65 in my room with the unit running.Honest reviews on Haier 5000 BTU Window Air Conditioner
I recently moved to Chicago, where it is quite humid in the summer time. If we didn't live in such a humid area, I think this actually might work alright. But that's not the case and we wasted $100 for basically nothing. The room we were initially planning on using this was a small bedroom, but unfortunately it only extends up to 3 ft or so, which isn't long enough to accommodate our window (poor planning on our part). Please don't buy this thing. I have to call it a thing because it's not an air conditioner. I'm kind of an expert on cheap, little 5000 BTU air conditioners because I have a apartment with old wiring that requires low BTU models and have had to replace my AC twice after construction workers inadvertently damaged them. In the bedroom I have a nice, high-end 8000 BTU model that keeps most of my apartment cool but the air doesn't quite get to the living room on the far side of the apartment. That circuit is wired with old wiring for the half of the apartment that has a lot of high voltage appliances ( the fridge, TV, track lights, toaster oven etc.) so if I put anything more powerful in that window it's too much. So I just use a little one over there and the big AC in the bedroom is doing most of the work. Out of all the little ones I've had over the years the Haier one was the worst. It was so bad I wouldn't even give it to a friend and just threw it out. I don't hate anyone enough to give it away. It slightly dehumidifies the air and blows the air around about as well as a box fan so you won't realize it has no cooling power at first and you might not return it in time to get a refund (and you will want to return it trust me). Once the weather gets over 90 degrees you are better off opening the window because it just will not cool. Even if you tip it downwards properly it spits out lots of water ( most models recycle water and spray it over the parts to keep them cool). Water will also pool up in the bottom. When I threw it out I was amazed how much water was inside. Just do yourself a favor and spend the extra $20 or $30 to get the cheapo Frigidaire 5000 BTU model with rotary control knobs. That one is cheap and a little noisy but at least it will cool the air. Amazon sells both, just compare the reviews.Monday, February 24, 2014

We purchased this a year ago from Sam's Club. It is wall mounted in the basement, and worked great, until right after the warranty ended. Now it is dead. No response from the controls at all. Not sure what we are going to do. Waiting for a reply from the Soleus.
This is a common problem with electronic thermostats on heaters. We have another heater with an electronic thermostat (another brand), and it failed once, thankfully under warranty.
replacement huge dent in back panel on arrival (box perfect... they sent it that way!)
second replacement OK for a few months. Tried it as the weather got colder this month. Worked once, now won't heat up.
Customer service says the warranty starts (and ends) based on the original purchase date, so I'm out of luck.

I'm returning this today. It's heating range is about 1-2 feet if you're lucky. I have a tiled master bedroom and this heater did poorly to heat one side of the room. Trying to heat the living room is not even close. My biggest complaint is that this heater does not project heat. I'm going to get a heater that blows out the air.Best Deals on Soleus HGW-308R Micathermic Flat Panel Portable Heater with Remote

We had one in the home office so that my wife could keep it warm in there for her. So when the last one broke we wanted to have another one.
