I noticed that a lot of these companies used the same controller, but sell the replacements at different prices. I have an AO Smith. And it works. Been going strong for a while now.

This item saved me from replacing my whole water heater and consequently wasting more time, spending more money and cleaning the mess in my basement. It definitely worthed. My only concern was it wouldn't fit but it has proved to be almost identical with my broken one, which worked fine for about 7-8 years. It has been shipped very fast, I got it in about 4-5 days, and It took about 30 minutes to replace the old one, including draining the water from the reservoir. There are 4 months since it works perfectly and hopefully will last for a couple of more years.

This fireplace looks great in my first living area. Putting it together wasn't too hard of a task and its sturdy and heavy. I have it placed in a corner and it looks perfect there. I hid the cord running from the unit. Guests mistake it as a traditional fireplace.

THIS FIREPLACE LOOKSS GREAT AND PUTS OUT A LOT OF HEAT. MY ONLY COMPLAINT IS WHEN THE FAN COMES ON THERE IS A VIBRATION INSIDE AND ITS VERY NOISY. MIGHT SEE IF THEY WILL EXCHANGE FOR ANOTHER ONE.

Although it looks nice, the time and frustration it took to put this together wasn't worth it. Some of the hardware didn't fit and I had to glue some parts. Customer service isn't open on weekends, so; for the working person it a little harder to connect with them.

Cheap AC Infinity AI-CFD120BA Dual 120 Quiet Cabinet Fan Kit, for Home

AC Infinity AI-CFD120BA Dual 120 Quiet Cabinet Fan Kit, for Home Theater AV Amplifier Media Cooling, Black
Customer Ratings: 4.5 stars

Our media cabinet is small, but jammed with equipment (TiVo, BluRay player, UPS, two iOmega ix2-200 NAS, and a gigabit switch) that generate a lot of heat. The temperature within ranged from 100-120oF (yes, that hot!). The ix2-200 internal fans, which kick in at temperatures over 59oC, were constantly running at 1000-1500 rpm, and they reported an internal temperature of 60-65oC. The only ventilation in the cabinet was two 3-inch cutouts for cables near the bottom of the back panel not very good to remove hot air passively.

It may be coincidental, but about a month ago, our year-old TiVo had a drive failure. After replacing the TiVo drive, I decided to actively cool the cabinet with dual intake fans (near the bottom of the back panel) and one exhaust fan (top of the back panel).

The reviews for the AC Infinity fans were excellent, so I purchased a dual AC Infinity 120 mm quiet fans for the intake (this product), and a single AC Infinity 120 mm quiet fan for the exhaust. The fans were very simple to install (and look good after installation). The cutout mask provided made it easy to mark the back panel and a I used a dremel to make the cuts. Because our media cabinet is up against a well, I need to remove the fans from the inside to clean the filters. Therefore, rather than use the provided nuts and bolts to mount the fan, I used industrial strength velcro. I tried using nylon push rivets, but couldn't find ones in the right size that popped out relatively easily.

The fans are very quiet. There is no speed control on them, but the specifications state they run at 1200 rpm. As provided by AC Infinity, the fans are configured to serve as intakes, but it is easy to reverse the direction of airflow need to remove 8 nut/bolts. Note that cable length will make it difficult to configure one fan as intake and one fan as exhaust for the dual 120 mm cabinet fan.

After one day, the fans seem to be working the temperature in the cabinet is around 80oF. Hopefully, they will last .....

Following a home theatre system redesign, space became a premium and in the case of the amplifier, I was concerned about the lack of breathing room even though I created some vent holes in the shelf above.

Subsequent temperature measurements indicated 100+ degrees F which is significantly higher than the optimal ~ 85 degrees F. At that point I started my search and came across the AC-Infinity family of rack coolers. Even though I wasn¡¦t using a rack, I am pretty good at ad hoc mods.:)

I elected the small 2 fan configuration (dual 80) as the most optimal for my application. I rigged the unit with a few wire ties and a push tack on the back of the shelf situate above the amp. Plugged it into the switched amp outout and the results were better than I anticipated. The unit now runs at ambient temperature even after hours of typical use. I cannot hear the fans even when nothing is playing.

Service: 3 days from order to install. Are you kidding me!

Best Deals on AC Infinity AI-CFD120BA Dual 120 Quiet Cabinet Fan Kit, for Home

My small but cramped cabinet where I placed a TiVo, VCR, BluRay, Cable Tuner was not built with any ventilation by the installer. As a result, inside of the cabinet was always hot, like over 100 degree F kind of hot. I tried placing a small A/C fan inside but because there is no air exchange to the outside, it was just circulating hot air inside. After a few months, even the small fan seized and would stop working. After 2 of the fans seized up, it was time to see about getting ventilation to the outside.

Basically, the AC infinity fans are nothing more than computer case fans running 12V, screwed into a big hole that you will have to cut up. The beauty of this, however is with the top metal plate, which is beautifully finished and will cover up that unsightly big hole you cut up and the AC to 12V adaptor supplied. When and if the fans crap out, they are easily replaced by ordering perspective sized computer fans from places like Amazon or Newegg. Yes, I figure I can buy the fans and make my own AC adaptor and save a few bucks, but then there is no way I can make the metal plate and have the whole thing look as pretty as AC Infinity makes it.

People comment on the noise. Well, the best way to see how loud this thing is is just go and sit next to your desktop computer. Most desktops have a fan in the power supply and 1-2 case fans. This is about as loud as an average desktop computer running without the HD spinning. I am happy with this and yes, between the 2 fans and a big hole I cut, now my electronics are pretty much as cool as can be being plugged in.

Honest reviews on AC Infinity AI-CFD120BA Dual 120 Quiet Cabinet Fan Kit, for Home

I bought two for my Tv stand to cover both sides. The electronics inside would get very hot even with unit doors wide open. The hardest part of installing was simply cutting out the rectangles on the back of the unit. The usb tethering between the fans is a very nice touch. Both came with an outlet adapter however I'm currently using the usb port on my Tv to power both sets. This is a must have for those who have a good amount of electronics that are enclosed in any cabinet or wall unit.

Pulls a pretty good amount of cooling air through my audio cabinet. Not super quiet--your can definitely hear it if you are listening for it--but quite a bit more quiet than the previous fan I had in the cabinet. I have five components in the cabinet and they get hot without a fan. Definitely recommend that you get the double fan, as half the airflow from the single fan just would not have been enough to cool the cabinet.

This replacement arrived with no damage to the ceramic exterior of the device. The edges along the square perimeter were properly sealed to prevent moisture from shortening the life of the device. Since the 12vdc device had no markings on either side as to which side is the cold or hot side, I had to hook the peltier device up to a 5vdc power supply. The red lead was connected to +5vdc and the black lead was connected to common / ground. Power was applied for only 3 seconds and quickly shut off. That short time was enough to sense with my fingers which side is the cool side and which side was the hot and side and without damaging the device from heat. Do not run this device with a power supply more than a few seconds without a heatsink mounted to the device! You will destroy the device, if you do.

After having found the cool side, I marked it with a sharpie. The defective moisture damaged device in the B&D refrigerator was removed and all of the old heatsink compound was scrapped off of the heatsinks. The new peltier device was mounted with the cool side towards its cool side heatsink and the same was done for the hot side (larger) heatsink using a modest amount of Arctic 5 Silver heatsink compound. The leads were connected up by color to the power supply, red to positive (+) and black to negative (i.e. common, "-" or ground) using butt splices. The B&D refrigerator was plugged in and allowed to run with the thermostat set to the coldest setting. The first couple of days, the temperature was 47 degrees. However, after the break in period of the Arctic 5 Silver compound, the refrigerator runs at 42 degrees at a control setting just above the lowest cooling setting (i.e. at nearly the warmest setting or the lowest power usage setting). Efficiency, and the temperatures, would be improved, if I had replaced the other device, which will soon be done.

Honeywell RTH111B H/C Digital Manual Thermostat Review

Honeywell RTH111B H/C Digital Manual Thermostat
Customer Ratings: 4.5 stars

Easy to install, simplistic to use. Just select the desired unit, heater or aircon, then select the temperature. It holds within +/2° to 3°. No messing with programing of off/on, different temperatures, times and then having to do it all over again after you have made a manual change. Good for folks that have trouble setting the correct time on their VCR. Would be better if it had a back lighted LCD. Much better than the old mechanical thermostat.

I replaced one of the old round bi-metal spring thermostats with the Honeywell RTH111B. The Honeywell works great and keeps the temperature where I set it. It has no "bells and whistles" as you'd expect for the price. Only thing I did not like is that the slide switch for Heat-Off-Cool is quite small and it's not always obvious at which position it's set.

Best Deals on Honeywell RTH111B H/C Digital Manual Thermostat

I purchased this non-programmable thermostat to install in the portion of my two-family home that I rent out. I also purchased the similar Honeywell RTH221B Basic Programmable Thermostat programmable model for my own portion of the residence. Installation of both models is identical, and the main difference between the two is just the ability to set up a program of varying temperature changes based on your schedule. The non-programmable RTH111B has no clock feature. Just simple buttons to change the temperature up or down, and switches for a system fan (if applicable) and the HEAT-OFF-COOL selection.

The apartment that received the RTH111B is a simple heat-only gas powered baseboard system. The installation instructions were generally easy to follow, but I also found additional information on the Honeywell website explaining what each terminal actually was. It would have been useful for Honeywell to print this in the instructions. Summarized:

Rh : Heating power supply

Rc : Cooling power supply

W : Heating signal

Y : Cooling signal

G : Fan

The two heating systems in my home are both ONLY heat, and have a two-wire connection. The wiring looked about a hundred years old, but still worked perfectly once I connected the wires to the Rh and W terminals. Interesting to note that in both installations it did not seem to make a difference which of the two wires went to what terminal, so long as it was Rh and W. However in a more complicated system that includes more wires for cooling or a fan, I'd use the included labels to mark each wire and be certain it was connected properly.

I don't have any dollar amount savings to offer, but I can say that the temperature was MUCH more consistent in my apartment than it had been with the old round-style mercury switch which was prone to large temperature swings. There is no question in my mind that less fuel was used, and it's very likely that the two thermostats I purchased have already paid for themselves one month later.

Honest reviews on Honeywell RTH111B H/C Digital Manual Thermostat

I purchased this unit as a recommended 'garage thermostat'. I installed it for sporadic operation of my garage heater, during the winter in North Dakota. Needless to say it gets cold here, which is why we need a heater. But I also don't intend to waste the power necessary to keep my garage above 40 degrees all winter so would only use this on occasion. Onto the design flaw that I still can't believe...

This unit will literally not operate below 32 degrees. Going in, I knew it was only programmable down to 40 degrees, so it would not maintain a temperature of less, but since I only planned to use it sporadically, that wasn't an issue. The problem is, it won't even turn the heater on below 32. At all. I confirmed this was intentional design by Honeywell, which makes me seriously question the engineers they have designing their products. Not only that, they don't offer ANY thermostat without this flaw. Imagine, a thermostat for a heater that makes it impossible to heat because it's cold...umm...really? The old $3 Hg-filled manual junker I was replacing with this worked just fine below freezing.

Let's look at scenario 2: I lose power at my house for an extended time and it gets cold. When the power finally comes back, I can't turn my heater on to finally heat my house because the thermostat says 'nope, it's cold, no heat for you'. Honeywell's suggestion? Wait until it gets above 32 on its own, then I can run the heater...so basically, you can heat if it's already warm, but not if it's cold.

Sorry, a-returning this product will go.

Otherwise, if you're looking for this in a completely different application....The unit was easy enough to install. The directions weren't great, but they don't have to be. Any typical homeowner should have no problems. Unit looks good enough, and for the 5 minutes I played with it after install it worked well enough (I'd heated my garage so it actually worked for a few mintues).

EdgeStar Full Size Dual Tap Kegerator & Draft Beer Dispenser - Black Reviews

EdgeStar Full Size Dual Tap Kegerator & Draft Beer Dispenser - Black

Update two years later: I still LOVE my EdgeStar Kegerator. It still keeps my beer ice cold. I recently bought an AcuRite Deluxe Wireless Weather Center (atomic clock) at Costco (for about $30). The reason I bought it is that it has an outside transmitter that sends the outside temperature to the unit so you can tell what the temp is outside as well as inside. This unit also measures humidity and some other stuff I wasn't interested in. I wanted to monitor my beer temperature without having to open the fridge door. I simply put the outside transmitter inside the kegerator on top of my keg. It works GREAT! In fact, the unit I bought not only tells you the current temp (inside and outside) but it also registers the high and low for the day. It resets itself at midnight each night. So now, with the outside transmitter sitting on top of my keg inside the kegerator, I not only know the exact temperature of my beer at the time I'm pouring it, but also the range that my EdgeStar has kept my beer for the past day. Knowing the current temp was my target. Getting a 24 hour high and low is a real bonus. As said before, I like my beer near freezing. Several times I came up with frozen lines and had to let them thaw. Now, I can see the temperature range for the past 24 hours and monitor the low to make sure I don't freeze again. Still a very happy beer drinker.

Original Review: I did a lot of research on kegerators before deciding to buy this one by EdgeStar. I have wanted a kegerator for years to replace the system I had in an old refridgerator in the garage. What prompted me to actually pull the trigger is that I saw one at Costco for under $400. I came home and began researching that unit online. What a rip! Breaking down.....poor customer service....beer not getting above 40 degrees. Yuck!! Then I stumbled on this unit from EdgeStar. While there were no reviews for this dual tap model in Amazon, I was able to find plenty of written reviews on their single tap models. I called Edgestar to verify that the dual and single units were, in fact, the same fridge and they are. Several of the reviewers mentioned that they couldn't get the unit below 40 degrees (much like most of the other manufacturers I researched) but that just one call to EdgeStar customer service resulted in very detailed instructions on how to adjust the thermostat to get the unit to go lower. I put mine together in a matter of 30 minutes and had it plugged in and cooling down. I didn't put a keg into it for maybe 5 days wanting to see if it would be cold enough. Sure enough, mine got to 40 degrees and stopped there. I like my beer very cold......I mean near frozen.....so I wanted to get this new unit down to maybe 33 or 34 degrees. I emailed EdgeStar customer service one evening around midnight. When I got up in the morning I had an email response with an explanation of various factors that could prevent it from getting cold enough. For example, having it outside or building it in so there isn't enough space around the unit for the cooling system to operate efficiently. Mine is free standing so I didn't have any of the issues that would have prevented it from getting cold enough. The email went on to provice very detailed instructions on how to reset the thermostat to get it to cool down more. They even provide pictures showing the procedure step by step. The final step was to tighten the little set screw in "finger tight" then back it off 2 full turns. After reassembling the thermostat it suggests letting it work for 24 hours. I did and MAN! did it work a lot better. In fact, the instructions state that if it gets too cold you need to repeat the last step and back the set screw off 3 full turns instead of 2. Since my unit got to 30 degrees overnight (and froze the beer lines that lead to the tap tower) I repeated Step 5 and backed it back 3 full turns. Now, two days later, my beer comes flowing freely at 33 or 34 degrees. JUST AS I LIKE IT!!

If you are considering a new kegerator, EdgeStar units are GREAT!! Their customer service is lightning fast and very easy to deal with. Also, while you are spending $450 to $499 for a single tap unit, go ahead and get the two tap unit. It's only about $50 more and gives you plenty of options as to what beers you can enjoy. Two of the 1/6th barrel tall skinny kegs fit perfectly in there. There are lots of beers available in 1/6th kegs so you can be the King of the Keg in your neighborhood by having the only duel tap in your Man Cave!! Besides, you also have the option of putting a half or quarter barrel in there too. They all fit!!

So, don't just sit there reading and researching. Buy this unit and start enjoying an ICE COLD BEER!!!

If you are a fan of craft beer (aka the good stuff), then this kegerator is perfect. Many of the negative reviews about this unit claim that it does not drop to a low enough temperature. I have mine set at 3 (the middle setting) and my beer pours at around 38*F (the optimal serving temp. for most beer types). The individuals making the claim that this kegerator does not get cold enough have generally indicated that they are specifically using it for Bud/Miller/Coors. The lower a beer's temperature, the less flavor/taste you will be able to perceive. With Bud/Miller/Coors, you want them virtually freezing because they taste awful.

One VERY IMPORTANT thing to remember when setting up the kegerator is to make sure you use the provided rubber gaskets when connecting the couplers to the beer lines. It's not explicitly stated in the set-up instructions, but if you do not do this, the lines will not be water tight and beer will drip down everywhere as soon as the kegs are tapped.

Lastly, if you will be using this unit for craft beer, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND purchasing two low profile couplers: Low Profile US Sankey Keg Coupler D System

While the unit comes with two regular couplers, many craft breweries use rubber-handle sixtels which are too tall to fit in the unit when tapped with the provided couplers.

Best Deals on EdgeStar Full Size Dual Tap Kegerator & Draft Beer Dispenser - Black

I am new to kegerators. I did lots of research.. on lots of websites... on lots of different products. This product seemed to have the best reviews. I decided to go with this unit. One common complaint that I found in all of the reviews on this unit is that the temperature doesn't get cold enough. Edgestar claims that this unit will get to anywhere from 37-41 degrees. For the most part, this is accurate. If you're like me, though, you want COLD beer (I mean real COLD). This unit is capable of getting colder. You just have to call Edgestar's customer service department, and they will email you instructions on how to make this unit colder (you can also find these same instructions in other beer forums if you search for them on google). Right now my kegerator is about 36-37 degrees. I would definitely recommend upgrading to a Dual gauge CO2 regulator as well as a better drip tray. Overall, I'm pleased with this product. I've had to learn a few things along the way as far as regulating the CO2 correctly, fixing CO2 leaks, etc; but I've been happy with this unit. I've learned everything through internet videos and forums. You just can't beat two beers on tap any time you want. If you're considering buying a kegerator or not, GET ONE! You'll thank yourself for it, and your friends will thank you as well. Whether or not you buy this unit or not... do your own research. Find a unit that's best for you and that fits your budget. I'll be happy to answer any questions, although I'm not the expert by any means at this point.

Honest reviews on EdgeStar Full Size Dual Tap Kegerator & Draft Beer Dispenser - Black

Directions stink... But set up is still simple. Big enough for two five gallon kegs and co2 in the fridge. Looks nice, no problems with to much foam or head which is a common cheap kegerator problem. Downside is it is loud... If going in a pantry I

Or garage it is perfect.... Would not want to have near my dinning table but it is party perfect

So i've had this bad boy for a few months now and here are my pro's and cons.

Pros:

Cold beer on tap = happy me

Wasn't that difficult to set up

Got me to start brewing my own beer again.

Cons:

The regulator they shipped me had a hairline crack in it which burned through $40 of CO2 and ruined 2 corny kegs ($200+) worth of beer. My gut told me it was the regulator but instead I followed the advice of the air gas guy and replaced all my hosing.

Smelt heavily of tobacco when I first got it kind of like this thing was stored in a cigarette bar and uses as an ashtray in its previous live.

I found out after buying the EdgeStar, that a "sixtel" (a 1/6th) keg of beer costs a lot of freaking money. It is actually cheaper for me to just buy an equivalent amount of six packs from my local beverage depot than it is to buy a sixtel. A sixtel (which has about 52 12oz beers) in it costs me around $90-110. Comparatively a half barrel (full keg) contains 165 12oz beers at about 100-135. So if you're doing this for a cost savings consider opting for the single line. Hell even running two single line edge stars are more cost effective than 1 dual tap.

I've spoken to the manager of my beer spot about this and he's putting together a list for me of beers that come in sixtels that don't break the bank. This is something to seriously consider when consider dual tapping vs single tap.

Now i've posted a lot of negatives, but why did I still give it 5 stars? Because edgestar made a great product and it works exactly how I expected it to. Over all its pretty quiet (quiet enough to sit in my living room) and because of my cost analysis I've gotten back into kegging my own beer.

Now I brew one keg myself which costs about 30 bucks (after I got all the equipment) and I have one line of commercial beer flowing at any given time. So I'm a happy camper.

One other thing is when researching this product I found that some people said the beer wasn't coming out cold enough and I found this to be true too I contacted customer service and they gave me a guide (with a big old warning saying it will void my warranty) on how to drop the temp of my kegerator. Worth it.

I don't have a whole lot of good things to say about this fridge, because the good things are all too general. The bad things are specific and easy to write about.

This one seems to be well made. It doesn't feel cheap, and the door seals well. I keep it in my basement where I haven't had any trouble with temperature or noise.

The bad things: Tall wine bottles do not fit, nor do some bottles when you put a vacuum stopper in. The light switch is inside (not a big deal). The fan runs all the freaking time (the cooling unit does not), so it draws a lot of power.

It has room for six bottles in the top compartment, and nine bottles below. The temperature in the top can only be set for white whine, and the bottom for red. This is strange, because you're more likely to run out of room for white, yet it's reds that can be stored at room temperature. We often have a bottle or two of white sitting on top of it, waiting to be chilled.

I would have rated this three stars if the fan ever kicked off.

I've had my wine cooler for a year and a half; however, after 1 year it began to slowly die. Of course when I called the service center it was 1 month after the warranty expired and I had to pay $25 per fan, two of which have already needed to be replaced and the unit still isn't working. The service center consists of 1 guy who isn't very accommodating, understanding or very knowledgeable out side of the "well, these things aren't made to last, you have to replace parts" attitude. As of now I can't store reds in the unit at all because the average temperature level is around 68-72! The white section won't spoil my wine yet, but its not the 43-45 that it should be. At this point I'm just waiting for the unit to die completely so I can call the junk man to come haul it away!

Something this expensive should last A LOT longer than 1 1/2 years!

Best Deals on Koldfront 18 Bottle Dual Zone Thermoelectric Wine Cooler

Fan runs constantly! Enclosed documentation says "this is normal". Since the fan is always on and is not a particularly quiet fan, this cooler actually makes more noise, on average, than my standard refrigerator.

1 yr update:

I have found that it isn't really the fan that is noisy per se, but the design of the sheet metal backing the area over the fans block enough of the air that significant noise ensues. A much quieter cooler can be had by removing the backplate or Dremel/jigsaw/hacksaw modification to remove the area over the fans.

Another unfortunate issue there is actually a third fan inside case, whose heat sink has a bad tendency to ice over; the ice actually gets large enough to touch the fan, and then this cooler gets REALLY loud. Taking the back and first two fans off to reach the third fan is not too much work, and has to be done (for my system) every 6 months or so to defrost this fan YMMV, based on your local indoor humidity, I'd guess. Overall, I'm happy enough with this cooler now to upgrade to 4 stars.

Honest reviews on Koldfront 18 Bottle Dual Zone Thermoelectric Wine Cooler

My 18 bottle wine cooler failed after 17 months. It would not cool. I called wine enthusiast and they thought the problem could be fixed by installing a new circuit board. They sent me a new circuit board (at no cost) which I installed. This did not fix the problem. I called them again and they told me they could not help me. I called/emailed them several times to try to get service for this product. Wine Enthusiast has never responded to these requests for service or information. So I am now stuck with a Wine Enthusiast wine cooler that does not cool.

I have tried 2 of these in the past 3 months. The first one started to heat my wine after 2 months use. The second one started to heat the wine after 33 days. It is very noisy and it has a lousy warranty. I don't recommend this product.

I love this space heater, because of the great design and great performance. You can put it against the wall without worries about it getting too hot. It will heat an average size room 12X12 quite quickly. it's quite energy efficient as well.

It does the job, but when I use it on high setting longer than 30 mins or so, the cable starts to get warm on several spots. The cable looks cheap and nondurable, I wonder if it would melt or cause fire hazard if I leave it on longer. Lasko's several previous models were recalled for a similar reason, that's why I am worried. I am thinking about returning the unit.

I tried a oil filled heater and returned it becouse of a sickning smell coming from it, then i tried a fan heater and it did not do the job for my large livingroom/diningroom/kitchen (all open)I went and got this heater and wow is all i can say, it took trial and error with other brand heaters but this one is great, i highly recommend this heater, it is safe and really throws out some heat! I live in philly and it gets cold in my old house, but this is keeping my living area toasty!

After reading the mixed reviews I decided to roll the dice and order this item. I could not find a 16 bottle fridge anywhere close the price.

The packaging was excellent, no signs of damage to the box at all (it came from Dallas to San Antonio).

The setup takes minutes. The handle does not come pre-attached but was easy to install. You can use it without. I don't currently have a use for the keys, but once I have children I think it will come in handy.

I read other reviews about it not being able to store white wine, which is not true, wine needs to be stored around 60F to maintain its life. White wine should be "served" at a lower temp which is differant. I don't think its a big deal stick a bottle of white in the kitchen fridge 30 minutes before I start drinking it.

Only had it a week but so far so good, it is very quiet and maintains the temp it is set too.

One thing to note when placing the cooler is to make sure you have the proper clearances to maintain airflow (2" on the sides and 4" at the back). I suspect this may have been a problem people with burned out fans/motors have had. This is not a "built-in" unit.

I bought this specific wine fridge because it has a lock. In order to be a licensed foster home, all of your alcohol must be locked away. It fits 16 bottles very comfortably inside and always shows the inside temperature in a nice blue digital light. I keep mine at the lowest possible, 51 degrees and it only seems to go up if I open the door. I like that there's room on the bottom of the fridge that can fit 6 bottles of beer laying on their side. If you're buying better beer (not miller/coors/bud) this is actually the right temperature to store it. We're brainwashed into thinking beer has to be ice cold, because crap beer does need to be ice cold in order to mask the skunked flavors. Anyway, the fridge also has an inside light you can turn on to display your wines. You have to put the cheap plastic handle on yourself, but I left it off. The lock is kind of a joke. The key is just a pentagon allen wrench. I think if your kid can uncork a bottle of wine, he/she can probably pick this lock with a screwdriver. Remember to keep it a few inches away from the wall on all sides or it won't get the proper air flow and you'll burn the motor out.

We're aspiring but very budget conscious wine "appreciaters". Been slowly working our way up from 2buck chuck many years ago to Willamette Valley and even some interesting Chilean wines. Our 10 year old wine cooler finally had enough abuse and passed away peacefully a week ago and we decided to replace it with a compact countertop unit that would work with our 850 square foot apartment. We were tempted to get one of those very small "microwave looking" 12 bottle coolers but could not bring ourselves to live with something that tacky looking. Finally decided on a 16 bottle and after lots of indecisiveness went with this Whynter 16bottler.

Happy to report that my lovely wife, who is the picky one, was very pleased with the design and finish of this unit. It cools down fast to the the supposedly ideal 58F and maintains the tempreture well. It's a couple of bucks pricier than some others but I'm not complaining. This is working out great for us and would happily recomend it. BTW, Amazon prime is the best thing ever.

Very pleased with the unit. Had a Cuisinart that kicked the bucket after a year and was noisy to boot. This thing is ultra quiet and is terrific so far. Leave the handle off, it looks a lot better without it.

I've had this for more than a year now and it has done its job almost perfectly. Only negative is bottle size issues but almost all coolers have that problem and I just lay them in a different direction. Unit is not too loud and has kept wines at optimum temperature.
