I've had this unit for a year. It remains fully functional and very useful as a room heater. I've dropped it a couple of times and no problems. I like the safety mechanism whereby it shuts off if not sitting on a flat surface; I'd rather not start any fires. The grill covering the heating element has small holes and therefore appears secure as far as not letting anything fly inside to cause a fire. I am not able to see any hot-red heating elements, unlike in some space heaters, which adds to the impression of safety. The heater has two warmth settings, and I mostly use the higher one and very rarely the cooler one. It also has a fan-only setting where no heat is imparted. The tall shape helps distribute the heat more evenly, I believe, as does the fact that it rotates. I rarely use the rotating function because I don't think it adds much to distributing the heat, but I don't really know since I rarely use this function. The unit is also very quiet.

PROS:

Price.

Durability.

Safety mechanisms.

Linear standing shape helps distribute heat and takes up only a small footprint for storage in a corner of your closet.

Quiet.

CONS:

The Low and Fan-only settings provide little added value.

I picked this up by chance one day when I was in a supermarket and saw it marked down. As I was in need of a space heater, I decided to buy it. I wasn't sure how it was going to turn out and was going to return it if it didn't work out. This unit has worked out well for me for the price.

I ordered this product specifically because it was labeled as being 'quiet'. When it arrived (on time) it was smaller than expected although when I plugged it in and fired it up it was putting out a surprising amount of heat rather quickly. The BIG problem was the rattling noise. It sound like the casing was never connected properly to the internals and it does rattle. Okay for some, annoying for me. Don't know if I will be able to sleep with it on. One really cool feature on it is the anti tip device which is just a button on the bottom of the base on the floor side that has to be depressed by the units weight in order for it to work. All in all, heats well, annoying sound.

This heater works as expected and takes up vey little space. The staff member I brought it for needs it to keep a leg-brace warm because the limb does not receive proper circulation. She has not complained.

Honest reviews on Soleus Air # HC7-15-01 Ceramic Tower Heater, 750W/1500Watts, White

I got this heater for my dorm at school. The room is probably about 15x15 (I'm really not sure but its big enough for four guys) and it definitely makes a difference in the temperature of the room. It can be somewhat weak when you are using it to blow heat directly on you as a fan but i had a really small desk fan i put behind it to generate more air so i don't have that problem really. I would recommend this heater, i like the swivel feature and the whole lack of thermostat isn't a big deal. Put it on high and you are good if its cold. I put 4 stars just because it isn't perfect but it will get the job done. A more expensive heater i didn't have the extra cash for would get 5 stars.

Soleus Air # HC7-15-01 does NOT have a thermostat. The description in Amazon says it does and that is wrong. The cost to ship this back is too high, so we will keep this unit for use in our barn work area. It's a shame that we have to keep a product that was described wrong. The unit looks like it would be great if it had a thermostat as described.

I have a Sears dryer model, and when I needed to replace this part, I checked the Sears website for the parts I needed. For one third of the price at Sears, I could even afford to make mistakes and still come up ahead by buying at Amazon.

After replacing just one of the two parts, and have it burn up again in about a week, I realized there was an *orange tag* near the part slot, advising to *always* replace both parts at the same time. So I bought the same kit again, and replaced both parts, as advised.

I also read that this part can burn out if the output duct is clogged by too much lint, so I also cleaned up the output duct when installing the second kit. It has been two weeks now and the machine still works well. I am a happy customer.

I needed the thermal cut out when our Whirlpool dryer broke down. The order came in a small package. We were able to get the dryer back in action.

Would recommend, however the heating coil element was the issue. BUT if you can troubleshoot with a meter to determine if these parts have failed before purchasing. Would for the cost of attempting to troubleshoot yourself purchase.

I couldn't get at my coil element and to do so required that the drum be removed to replace. For my area (Norhtern N.J.) the cost of the repair -service call and parts were $ 260.00 (year 2013).

The parts worked like a dream. The key to these replacement parts is to replace the parts on your drier with the parts in the kit even if some appear to be still in working condition.

The price was extremely reasonable and the delivery time was much quicker than I anticipated.

Same symptoms Kenmore dryer blows, no heat. No conductivity through thermal fuse. Exhaust duct blocked (not cleaned for 2 years). I have close to 30 ft. rigid duct with booster so cleaning it is a chore. Of course had to go and clean it... Genuine part is over 30 bucks, not big deal but burns as fast as this one.

This set is worked quite well. First one I bought did not show up at all, had to order another one in two weeks while handling issues with the first. To be quite honest, there was nothing to handle, seller refunded money, then sent another one for trouble. Oh well, will use it in 3 years when the duct is clogged again.

One thing to check is cut off temperature on the smaller piece. Should much with your dryer. Mine had 325F and replacement is the same. If your dryer is higher it will likely blow thermal fuse again quite soon. And keep you ducts clean!

This replacement arrived with no damage to the ceramic exterior of the device. The edges along the square perimeter were properly sealed to prevent moisture from shortening the life of the device. Since the 12vdc device had no markings on either side as to which side is the cold or hot side, I had to hook the peltier device up to a 5vdc power supply. The red lead was connected to +5vdc and the black lead was connected to common / ground. Power was applied for only 3 seconds and quickly shut off. That short time was enough to sense with my fingers which side is the cool side and which side was the hot and side and without damaging the device from heat. Do not run this device with a power supply more than a few seconds without a heatsink mounted to the device! You will destroy the device, if you do.

After having found the cool side, I marked it with a sharpie. The defective moisture damaged device in the B&D refrigerator was removed and all of the old heatsink compound was scrapped off of the heatsinks. The new peltier device was mounted with the cool side towards its cool side heatsink and the same was done for the hot side (larger) heatsink using a modest amount of Arctic 5 Silver heatsink compound. The leads were connected up by color to the power supply, red to positive (+) and black to negative (i.e. common, "-" or ground) using butt splices. The B&D refrigerator was plugged in and allowed to run with the thermostat set to the coldest setting. The first couple of days, the temperature was 47 degrees. However, after the break in period of the Arctic 5 Silver compound, the refrigerator runs at 42 degrees at a control setting just above the lowest cooling setting (i.e. at nearly the warmest setting or the lowest power usage setting). Efficiency, and the temperatures, would be improved, if I had replaced the other device, which will soon be done.

Suncourt HC300 Heating & Air Conditioning Booster Fan Reviews

Based on the other reviews, it sounds as though the EQ2 works for some people and doesn't for others depending on their individual room and HVAC configurations. I have an upstairs room with a vaulted ceiling that is 10 degrees Fahrenheit hotter or colder than the rest of the house. The room is more than 200 sq. ft., has only one vent, and is the farthest from the blower. I've had my EQ2 now for 3 years and it is still working fine. The EQ2 brings the temperature difference down to about 4 degrees, which is livable. I tried out the AirFlow Breeze that has 2 DC fans in it but it didn't work as well as the EQ2.

Like everyone else I have a room that doesn't get the benefit of enough heat. Is is fed by a side duct off the main furnace duct really a bad design because the heat on its way up three flights races past this duct and even a scoop doesn't cure the 5 degree deficit. I put this fan over one of the two outlets for this side duct, AND BLOCKED THE OTHER to prevent the fan from just pulling air from the other vent. It now has to pull from the furnace and the 5 degree difference disappeared. It is also on a thermostatic control.

Yep, I gotta agree with the other reviewers that this is a waste of money. Great concept, poorly executed. It does turn on and off automatically, but that's it's only good point.

I have an upstairs bedroom that gets about 5-6 degrees warmer than the rest of the house. Warmer even than the adjacent bedroom. Put one of these over the vent, checked the temperature all day, and there was no difference. I think most computer fans are probably quieter and blow more air. All this seems to do is churn the air around a bit.

While I'm not a mechanical engineer, I think this product could have been designed better, without adding cost, and actually might have worked.

Save your money. If you have a vent that's not vlowing much air, try removing the grill. The grill restricts the airflow and removing it might be enough to help.

Honest reviews on Suncourt HC300 Heating & Air Conditioning Booster Fan

Works as advertised. My family recently moved into a 2-story colonial, and the airflow coming out of the vents in the master bedroom is a little weak, making it warmer than the rest of the bedrooms on the top floor. I could turn down the thermostat, but that would freeze out the rest of the house. The Suncourt (HC500) and Airflow Breeze boosted registers caught my eye, but I wanted a quick solution (i.e. no order-and-wait) and the local Home Depot had the HC300 in stock.

What can I say, but "it works". Without the HC300, the airflow (floor vents shooting upward) reached a height of 3 ft (based on holding my hand above the vent), and with the booster, it reached a perceptible height of 5 feet. With a single booster over 1 of our 2 vents, the master bedroom was noticeably cooler. In fact it worked so well that I ordered two in-vent boosters (HC500) so that I have one for each duct. The weather has cooled down, so I'm unable to compared those to the HC300, except that they are quieter.

As far as noise goes, the HC300 is not silent, but it is far quieter than a Marpac white noise machine set to the lowest setting (we use that in our baby's room). Actually, for use in a bedroom, I find the low level of white noise kinda soothing. As an added bonus, the fan in the booster doesn't turn off until the air temperature from the ductwork reaches a preset temperature. That means that after the AC (or heat) has turned off, the booster is still scavenging the remaining cool (or warm during the winter) air from the ductwork.

This is a great solution if your airflow to a room is weak, but I can imagine some circumstances (strong airflow, but warm air) where boosting the airflow won't help or you'll have a ceiling effect. Yes, you ideally would want to call in a professional to rebalance the ductwork, but in many instances it would be cost prohibitive (i.e. ripping up flooring to get to the ductwork).

I give it a 4 out of 5, with 1 point deducted for the (albeit low) noise level.

I bought two register boosters several years ago and one of the two recently stopped working; could not be repaired by my engineer husband. No longer carried at local store so I ordered two online. We use them on the second floor of our home to boost heat in the winter and A/C in the summer and they work very well. Hope neither of the new ones ordered via Amazon fail!

This refrigerator is just the right size, but it has a metal "freezer" compartment that you have to defrost regularly. Had I known the refrigerator had one of these, I would have purchased another model. However, I'm happy with the item, and as I have no need for a freezer (and don't wish to defrost this one regularly), and I am looking into removing the compartment in order to maximize the space in the fridge.

I have had this unit since 1997, it should last forever.

We use it for making iced tea and coffee at least once but mostly twice a day.

We have it on a $15.00 appliance timer so the water is not heated between 10pm and 6am (it only takes

15 mins to heat up the tank if it is off) I make coffee at 6:30am it takes 5 mins

to make a pot (I can make as little as 4 cups) then I turn it off till the evening when

we make tea. I got tired of buying the $20 coffee pots that only last a year.

We love our BUNN VP17, having had it at home in our Kitchen for over 1 year now.

I am a hard core coffee addict, and in our house we can go through several pots just in the morning.

The coffee is always perfectly hot (200F) and the big BUNN brews a full 64oz pot of terrific coffee in 3 minutes.

This is a very sturdy, well built machine. Simple to operate and built like a tank.

When looking for a replacement coffee maker, we had some simple requirements (It had to be American made, and it had to be simple).

The last thing I want at 5am is to have to fight with a computerized coffee maker.

Pro's

Made in USA. Let's keep Americans working!

All Stainless Steel. No plastic

Simple to use. Just pour as much water as you'd like coffee.

High quality power switch for the lower burner

The coffee is always brewed at the perfect temperature

Water is always maintained hot inside the tank

It' s a BUNN

Great conversation pice in my kitchen

Con's

It is Big! and takes up a substantial amount to counter space

A comment regarding power consumption.

The BUNN VP17 is always "on". It has no power switch per se.

The internal tank has an independent thermostat and heating element. Once the unit is heated up, It will operate once (3-4 mins)/1.52 Hours.

During this hearing stage, the machine will use around 1500 Watts of power.

The independently switch hotplate draws about 50Watts.

Keep in mind, the BUNN has no water pump, so once it starts to brew, the water is gravity fed into the pot.

We are energy conscious, and have placed the BUNN on an appliance timer; turning in on at 4am, and off at 8pm.

Heat up from cold water takes about 20 minutes.

When our unit heats up, after being off for 8 hours, it only takes 5-10 minutes to get up to temperature.

This has resulted in a negligible change to our electric bill.

Overall, it is a wise investment. You can enjoy your coffee knowing you helped to keep fellow Americans employed.

And please try to buy American.

Tired of burning through cheapie pkastic drip coffee makers? I was. This is great...resturant coffee anytime. It works as well today (2011) as it did when I took it out of the box! It keeps the water inside hot by reheating it periodically. Don't worry, you'll never notice it on your electric bill. Well made, built to last. The VP-17 is made to fit under wall mounted kitchen cabinets. It comes with plastic pitcher for water. I use about 1/4 of the pitcher for one cup (mug) of coffee and about 2 scoops of ground coffee.

Honest reviews on BUNN VP17-1 SS Pourover Coffee Brewer with One Warmer

It's expensive. It stays on all the time, but it will be the last coffee maker your will ever buy. I purchased a bigger model for the office, and made the mistake of ordering the Plastic/metal pots for that product. They are hard to clean though hard to break. With this product for home I purchased glass pots. I would recommend the glass pots for this product. They are well made of treated glass and made in Germany. If you break them, it's easy to order another. They are much easier to clean and safe to put in the dishwasher. I Got two pots for insurance.

Hard water...no problem, the maker comes with a root rooter device to ream out the stainless steel tubing.

Made in the USA! Made to last. You can't ask for more!

I hope a few coffee aficionados will take a moment and read along in silent prayer; for my coffeemaker produced its final brew just last month. After so many years together it came as no surprise, but the sorrow still remains.

The Bunn is my coffee maker; I shall not percolate.

Bunn maketh my beverage in three minutes; it brewith my coffee with hot waters.

Bunn restoreth my soul; it leadeth me in the path of righteous joe for its name sake.

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of decaf, I will fear no freeze dried; for Bunn art with me; thy warmer and decanter comfort me.

Bunn prepares the mug before me in the presence of mine boxer shorts: thou filleth my head with joy; my cup runneth over.

Surely goodness and coffee shall follow me all the days of my life; and I will dwell in my house, with a Bunn, forever.

Amen.

I'm sure the soul crushing experience of having to replace such a faithful, long serving appliance will be with me for some time. But that's just what makes this banal piece of equipment transcend a level beyond that which a disposable society recognizes. For more than thirteen years my Bunn coffee maker has produced at least one pot of coffee per day, with vacations no more frequent than my own. Considering the purchase price and absolute care free performance, this amortizes to less than three cents per pot of consistent, fast and perfect coffee. What a fantastic value that device has been.

Through my grief, not anger since it lasted longer than any other coffeemaker (by an order of magnitude); I decided to take a leap to the commercial grade model (VP-17). It shares some similarities with the home version with a tank of water preheated and always ready to brew. This is the same philosophy which operates most home water heaters, where maintaining a hot tank of water is more efficient than starting from faucet temperatures. When the tank is filled with cold water, it displaces the water which was waiting at the optimal temperature, for a drip brewed coffee just like you get in every diner and restaurant across the country, because it is the same piece of equipment. You will need to order a decanter as the VP-17 does not include this accessory, but a fill pitcher IS included. I prefer the glass decanter for looks and performance since it has no moving parts like the broad lid on the home version.

This is a larger unit with the body standing at 16 7/8 inches and the filling lid topping out at 17 ¾ inches closed. Measure the area you are considering for any clearance issues.

It is a stainless steel beauty which is clearly built to last. The unit does come with some coffee filters which are larger than the home version. Remember you are brewing with the big boys now. If this machine lasts as long as the other, then I won't be buying another one till the year 2025, if man is still alive, if woman can survive.....
