I could no longer find this product in my local stores and sure happy that Amazon had it at a great price. This thermostat is easy to install for MILLIVOLT systems only which is for older wall and floor furnaces. This is NOT for the central heating and air-conditioning systems of newer homes today but Lux does make thermostats for those systems.

First of all, I am no home fixit guy. I did some Internet research and decided that the even though the Nest was much cooler looking it might (and I didn't test it of course) not learn as well as it advertised. So I decided to get a more conventional thermostat that had all the Internet bells and whistles. Long story short I installed it with absolutely no problems, including connecting it to my WI-FI. In less than an hour I had my Ecobee portal and was programmed. I love the remote acessability and reports. I can access it from a browser, iPhone and iPad. Lots of configurability and the daily schedule is easy to change. They can update the SW over the Net so I am pretty confident it will just get better. The display is simple and direct (not though as simple as the Nest). There are some menus but they are very well done and very easy to learn. Kudos to this well thought out product.

The feature set is perfect for what I need. Ecobee's Privacy Policy is first class, unlike their competitors. Venstar's policy is non-compliant with the law, cavalier with your data and they don't care. The Nest policy reads as if they're planning to renegue and turn YOU into the product when they build enough users.

Alas, SmartSI won't won't work with my configuration. I have an AC unit and oil burner. The oil burner does not produce the required 24V signal, and the unit will not operate with just the 24V signal coming from the AC unit.

The support desk was responsive, but not all that helpful. They kept sending diagrams of configurations that didn't match what my AC service man was describing. After spending 2 hours and $200 trying to get it installed, I ended up returning the unit. We'll see if Alpine dings me 10% for opening the box and cracking the binding on the installation manual.

I installed the Ecobee in about 45 minutes, liked it so much I bought 2 more for rental properties. There is absolutely nothing not to like about this. These people who said it wasnt "compatible" with their system probably just dont know how to read the manual. You have to tell it what type of system you haveheat pump, gas furnace + AC etc.... This thing is so smart it knows ho wlong it takes yoru HVAC to heat or cool your house so if you program it to turn up the heat at say 7AM, it can be set up to make sure it's warmed up BY 7AM. I think the thig I love most about the Ecobee is the ability to wake up in the morning & turn up the heat without getting out of bed. By the way, Amazon has the best price anywhere on this.

Honest reviews on ecobee EB-EMSSi-01 2 Heat 2 Cool Energy Management System

I already had installed an Ecobee Smart Thermostat on one of the HVAC systems in the house and was very pleased. The only negatives were the cost and the need to install the remote control board in the air handler. While I understand the significant advantages to this design, it makes the installation a bit more complicated and intimidating. The new Si model is affordable and very easy to install. In fact, I purchased 2 of them for the other zones in the house and had them both installed and running in about 30 minutes total. I'm very pleased with the Ecobee offering and would highly recommend it without hesitation.

Tired of physically programming multiple thermostats for shifting schedules, we decided to try two ecobee EB-EMSSi-01 units. We loved the way they worked and the ability to manage them remotely. We now have eight. The "Calendar" feature, enabling us to program for special events outside of our normal schedule, is especially helpful. With the control we now have we are experiencing a more comfortable building and expect cost savings, too.

This is a great little thermostat. No frills with a simple 5/2 (weekdays/weekends) program and 4 events (wake / leave / return / sleep) per day. So as long as you have a regular monday-friday schedule and don't need a unique program for each day, this will work great. It's very easy to do temporary overrides or even sustained ones with the "hold" feature. The display is backlit, so there's no need to turn on the lights if you wake up in the middle of the night and it's a little warm (or cold).

It also has a nice "compressor protection" feature which prevents the A/C from turning on too soon after the end of a cycle and overheating the motor or freezing the coils. So if the air just finished a cycle and you want it to get colder, you will will have to wait a few minutes, but it could save you an expensive service call, especially if you have older relatives in the house who are never comfortable no matter what the temperature is.

A big attraction for me was the vertical orientation of the unit. It's very hard to find a decent programmable thermostat that is vertical. Well I wanted to cover the hole in my wall without getting a giant eyesore or turning a regular one sideways, so I didn't have a lot of options. I previously had the RiteTemp touchscreen unit from Home Depot, but the touchscreen died, which rendered it useless for anything other than what was already programmed into it.

This little guy is cheaper than almost anything else, is uniquely vertical, and works great. For the money, it pays for itself in a month or two, so give it a try.

This is an awesome thermostat. It's the only vertical 5/2 day programmable one I could find, so points for that. Then, it does 4 temperature changes a day: wake, leave, return, and sleep. Don't think I could need anything more! And, on top of all of that, it has "Adaptive Intelligent Recovery" meaning you set it for the time you want it to be that temperature and it automatically figures out how soon to start heating up/cooling down. Simply amazing at the ~$30 price I paid!

This thermostat worked just right as a replacement for an old Honeywell unit with a similar footprint. The older mercury switch thermostat was analog without backlighting, and accuracy left something to be desired.

This was easy to install with just some minor paint touch-up required around the thermostat. The wall hole placement for the wiring behind the old thermostat had to be slightly enlarged (downward) to accomodate this new back plate, but other than that, it was just a matter of figuring out exactly how to feed/connect the wiring to the new terminals. The thermostat worked perfectly as a replacement, and was very easy to program.

Honest reviews on Honeywell TH2110D1009 Pro 2000 Single Stage 1-Heat/Cool Thermostat

I got this on October 15th and installed it that same day (which happened to be the very start of my heating bill cycle). It took me about 15 minutes to install it from start to finish, and I've never installed one of these before I am a little handy but no pro to be sure.

I set it up so that the temperature is 68 during times when we are usually at home and 60 overnight and when I'm at work and my son is at school. If I happen to be home during one of those times (or up late), all I have to do is hit the up button to the temperature I want and it will keep it that way until the next cycle starts where it would lower it then it goes back onto the regular schedule. This is such a nice feature!!!

I live in Pittsburgh, PA, where it can get pretty cold in the winter. While it hasn't been a crazy winter it has been below freezing most of the days since this was installed. There was also a lot of snow on the ground and on the house during most this time.

Without getting into extreme detail, I figured out from temperature ranges over the course of a month (yes, I keep track of this stuff over the course of 5 years) that my last 3 bills should have been as follows:

1) October 15 to November 15th should have been around $120. Instead it was $75. That's $45 savings due solely to a unit that cost me around $33.

2) November 15 to December 15, my bill should have been around $150. Instead my bill was $98. Another $52 saved.

3) December 15 to January 15, my bill should have been $180. It's $118. That's another $62.

Totaled up, over 3 months, I've saved $159. Sure, my numbers could be off a little bit, but let's say I'm off 25%. That's still way over $100 saved in 3 months.

My only problem with this unit is that it didn't come to my house and hit me on the head many years ago, forcing me to install it. This is the best investment in the house I've made in a very long time. If you have an old style thermostat, replace it with one of these (or at least another kind that you can program) you won't regret it!

This thermostat seemed fine when I bought it last spring. I've had good luck with Honeywell thermostats, and I needed a programmable thermostat in a vertical configuration to fit a narrow space on the wall. However, early in this year's heating season my TH2110D ran amok. It started regularly overrunning the specified temperature, and within three days was heating my weatherized porch at 76 degrees instead of the set point of 68 degrees. So much for energy savings!

I checked all the settings and they were still correct for my hot water gas-fired heating system. I replaced this thermostat with an older unit that I still had and the old unit worked fine. Since I am not a professional heating contractor, Honeywell does not honor their warranty. Since I'm way past Amazon's return period, I have no recourse. Buyer beware!

Pros:

Slim vertical design, adaptive intelligent recovery feature, backlit display, 5-2 day programming

Cons:

Not reliable and no warranty for non-professional owners.

My beverage center arrived quickly and we were quite eager to get it up and running as my husband always takes too much space in the fridge with his bottled water, soda pop and beer. Just as advertised, it holds a lot of stuff!

The honeymoon ended quickly though, when we found that we could not get the temp to go below 49 degrees, which is pretty tepid for any cold beverage and absolutely unacceptable for beer. We tried everything, reread instructions, etc. You can only set it on a dial, there no indication of what the temp actually is...so we bought a thermometer and got the bad news that despite being on the coldest setting possible, we weren't getting below 49-50, which according to the thermometer we bought is actually in the "danger" zone of letting bacteria breed.

So, we call the manufacturer who says that we should have know it is a "cooler" not a fridge and will only keep beverages 20 degrees cooler than the ambient temp in the house. What a crock!!!!!!

So, we're stuck with a piece of equip that barely cools things down.

I suggest anyone interested in purchasing these things, now matter the price, be well informed between the differences of cooler and refrigerator. I have learned an expensive lesson.

The fridge looks great, would be a perfect for beer, and I thought would be perfect for my bar. Only problem is that it is junk. It does not get cold whatsoever. Might as well stick your beer outside at night to get it cooler. Do not buy unless you know how to rig the thermostat.

I purchased this fridge from another vendor and I was happy with it except it died after about 2 years of use. I looked into getting it repaired, but the person I spoke to said it would be more cost effective to replace it due to the labor charges. I saw on the Target website that another person had the same experience, so it seems the longevity of this product is in question.

I have a feeling this review may be quite tricky to write... or at least quite lengthy. Not only do I have to include all my own personal points, but I also have to reexplain all the incorrect information given in the only other review for this item.

To start off... I *love* this thermostat! I've only had it for two days and the only thing that would change my opinion is if it randomly broke or stopped working -and based on my past experiences with Hunter, that is unlikely to happen. I owned an older Hunter thermostat, the 44260, that I bought back in 2004. It worked perfectly, was reliable, and was exactly what I needed and wanted. I used that from the time that I bought it in 2004 all the way until I sold it to my housemate last year (2011) for use in the house we shared, and it is still currently in use. To me, that says something great about Hunter's quality and reliability.

Now that I have my own apartment, it was time for a new model. I was getting annoyed with my A/C cycling on and off every 10 minutes with the 30 year old thermostat that came with my unit, so I started looking into new ones. I bought one model before this, a LUX TX-1500E, because of the consumer best buy rating and positive reviews. Unfortunately, when an HVAC tech came out to charge the freon in my central air, he also discovered that the LUX was not always engaging the compressor for the A/C, leaving just the blower fan running. He also added that the LUX thermostat I had bought was "not a good thermostat". So, I returned it to Amazon, and began to research again. Well, for some stupid reason, Hunter thermostats aren't as widely distributed as Honeywell, so I didn't really notice this new, redesigned series by Hunter until I went to the Lowe's web site. I am very glad I finally became aware that they had new thermostats out because not only is it the quality I've come to know and expect (versus Honeywell, who's quality seems to be declining rapidly based on reviews), but it's the best value for the money by far. My LUX was $33 refurbished from Amazon, and the only feature it had over the Hunter was a relative humidity reading. This was only $29 brand new from Lowe's! Already a better value because it's new and not refurbished, not to mention the nicer look of the unit and having an actual brick and mortar establishment to return to if I encounter any issues.

So, finally onto the functionality! Hunter has really made strives in the ease of use area, because this thermostat is a breeze to learn. Fewer key presses, leading to easier schedule setting is near the top of my list of favorite features... along with being able to turn the schedule off (while still retaining the settings) to operate it like a basic, non-programmable unit without having to worry about Hold or Temporary Override settings. Installation was incredibly easy as well! No more tightening screws down on top of electrical wire, hoping the wire doesn't pop out... these new thermostats have levers that you lift up. You just slide the wire in, then press the lever down, and it's tightened! *SO* much easier. Not to mention it includes a built-in level on the wall mounting plate, so you just level your wall mount plate, screw in two screws, and the thermostat just snaps right on top of it.

The new way of scheduling on Hunter thermostats may seem foreign to some (like davidg, another reviewer), but once you understand them they are actually quite intuitive and much easier to program. On older thermostats, you only set the start time on each part of the day, and it runs until the start time of the next scheduled part of the day. Hunter has you set start AND end times for two of the schedules, Asleep and Away, and only temperature but no times for the Home setting. At first glance, it may seem as though Hunter has taken away one of your schedule settings and left you with three instead of four, because there are only settings for Asleep, Away and Home. What has actually happened is this... your thermostat runs on the Home setting anytime the Asleep and Away schedules are not applied. Example... if you set the thermostat for Asleep from 10pm-7am, and then Away from 9am-6pm, there is a a gap in scheduling between 7am-9am. During this time, the thermostat automatically reverts to your Home setting. When your Away schedule ends at 6pm, it does the same thing... runs the home setting until 10pm, when it switches to the Asleep schedule. This saves you from having to program your "awake" and "return home" settings with specific times, because the thermostat automatically does it for you. I definitely prefer it this way, because it leads to easier scheduling and less key presses. (I know this may be difficult for some to understand... feel free to leave a comment on my review with questions.)

Another fun feature is the Home/Done button. It is mostly used as a "Done" button that immediately saves your settings as you change things within the menu or schedules -hence the "Done" part of the button. My favorite part is that if you wake up early or return from work early, you can just press Home/Done and with one button click, it automatically takes you out of your Asleep/Away schedule and reverts to the Home setting, hence the "Home" part of the button. Genius!

However, since davidg incorrectly talked of an "Away" button, I need to clarify and expand on this issue. THERE IS NO AWAY BUTTON. There is a button called "Save Away", which is something completely different from "Away". "Save Away" is basically a HOLD feature that most other thermostats have, but Hunter took it one step further and gave it additional functionality. Instead of just holding the temperature you set indefinitely, "Save Away" also asks you to set the amount of time you would like the temperature held for. So if you are going to be busy after work and home in 12 hours instead of 8, you can set your Save Away setting for 12 hours and it will go back to the normal schedule after that. Or, if you go on vacation, you can set your heat to a very low setting for the next 7 days, and it will automatically go back to schedule after that. Another option for override is simply using the +/buttons without pressing Save Away... this will change the temperature until the next schedule period arrives.

I also disagree with davidg on the readability of the display. I find the screen easy to read with an appropriate amount of contrast. I can stand in my living room and read it quite clearly on the wall, without any lights turned on and just the natural light from one small window about 10 feet away. If I sit down at my dining room table and I'm looking at the mounted unit from an angle, it is STILL fairly readable. The only time I would need to turn a light on to use this unit is if I wake up in the middle of the night when it is pitch black. (Even in a dark room with the TV on, I can still read it!) However, if you know you have difficulty reading displays that are not backlit, or if your vision isn't that great to begin with, spend a little extra money and get the next model up. The Hunter 44272 model is a mere $10 more expensive, and gives you a backlight as well as the ability to schedule Saturday and Sunday independent of each other, instead of grouped together. I don't even use my schedule on the weekends and a backlight isn't worth $10 to me... so I stuck with this model and I am extremely happy with my purchase. In the event I can't read it on the wall, it easily detaches from the wall mount, and can be programmed while you are holding it your hands and returned to the wall after. (These instructions are detailed in the owner's manual -they call it "Armchair Programming". Old people must love it! Haha)

Finally, you don't have to hit Home/Done every time you finish setting something, as davidg implied. If you are overriding the temperature, just use +/buttons and you will see the "Set To" temperature blinking. Once you stop adjusting, it will blink for another 10 seconds so you can review your setting, and then save automatically. Pressing Home/Done simply saves it immediately without waiting 10 seconds. While you are scheduling, it works the same way, with a longer delay. If you are programming your schedule settings and stop midway through, it will wait for 15 minutes and then automatically save your settings.

Another feature that I love, but not everyone may be looking for, is called Span. Similar to a Swing setting on LUX products, this tells your thermostat how much you want the temperature to change before the unit engages your HVAC system. It has settings for 1 (default), 2 and 3. It comes default to a Span setting of 1, which means that if your unit is to 72, it will engage the A/C when the room is 72.5 degrees, and turn off when it reaches 71.5 degrees. The manual says that a setting of 2 will impose a 1 degree variance, which is what most people are used to. (When your unit is set to 72, it will turn on at 73 and turn back off at 71.) However, it doesn't say exactly what happens with a Span setting of 3, but I am assuming it's 1.5 degrees -since the other two settings are .5 and 1. In any event, I love having this functionality because in my poorly insulated apartment, the A/C turns on and off constantly. It's a small apartment, so the A/C cools it down fairly fast... but then because it's lacking insulation, it warms back up fairly quickly as well. Now with the Span setting, I set it to 3 to have the largest amount of temperature variance before it engages, and I don't have to listen to the A/C cycling on and off as much as it used to. (This applies to your heat as well.) If you are the opposite of me and would prefer your HVAC to cycle often to keep a more consistent temperature, than you can set it to 1. (Or just not change it at all, because 1 is the default setting.)

Overall, this unit is fantastic and I would recommend it to anyone. Hunter is a great brand and has been around for many years, and I have had very positive experiences with their products in the past. This thermostat seems to be no exception... it has a nice, quality, solid feel to it. It is easy to use and operates the way I expect it to. Not to mention it is very nicely designed and has an attractive, sophisticated look to it. For $29, you will be hard pressed to find another thermostat that is brand name and has all of these great features! (As of 5/25, this unit is cheaper at Lowe's. $29 as opposed to the $37 on Amazon!)

Well i must say the review written By B. Matthies sums it up. They explained it very well and in detail. I myself was tired of the 10+ wall unit with 1/2 inch of dust caked on it making my AC kick on and off every 10 mins and then also not being able to have an accurate temp reading. Took a little long than 5 mins to install but actual work was probably 5 mins. lol. as of 6/17/2013 this unit cost me 25 w/shipping. cheaper than going to lowes to get it. great buy great product!!!

Thermostat is $29 for a programmable thermostat which is fairly inexpensive for what it does.

The good:

1) installs easily, the wiring connectors make quick work of the connection.

2) the removable thermostat body is handy for both installation and allows for programming the thermostat while sitting at your desk.

3) the dedicated buttons for "home" and "away" allow for one button when your schedule changes. so if you heat the house until 9am, but one day you leave at 7am, you can hit the "away" button on your way out the door and the heat will follow the "away" temperature program. likewise, if you arrive home early from work, during the normal "away" program, you can hit the "home" program and it will follow the home temperature and heat the house accordingly. one easily accessible button for each is the best thing about the thermostat.

The not as good:

1) the lcd screen is fairly small and dim, so some of the settings can be difficult to read

2) there are multiple programs per day (good) but there are only two different temperatures for "awake" hours. so if you like the heat really cranked in the morning to take the chill off, it will be the same after you get home, rather than being able to set it for say, 70 when you wake up and shower, and 66 in the evening when you're home. it's limited to one temperature each for the following: away, asleep, and home.

3) changing the temperature should be easy with the plus and minus buttons right out front, but the extra step of having to hit "done" after adjusting the temperature is not intuitive and parents and housesitters are likely to be shivering and frustrated if you aren't there to remind them of the extra step.

Overall for $29, it's a fairly nice set of features, with some idiosyncratic features that you'll need to keep the manual handy for, even if you're quite accustomed to programmable thermostats.

Have now used blanket for several weeks and found that it performs well. Called manufacturer and was told that the internal wiring of their various models of electric blankets are the same. The difference is the control and covering. Microplush is said to be and appears to be a durable covering. The controller is simple on this particular model and the reason for the low price compared to other models from Sunbeam. The controller does not have a pre-heat feature. Warranty is 5 years so having the old rotary mechanical type controller is no problem for me give the considerable amount of money saved.

DO NOT BUY THIS. I bought one for my mother for Christmas. The deep red colored blanket shed like crazy and damaged her existing sheets. She said it was such a hassle. This freezer is having trouble keeping things properly frozen. I have removed any items that may be placed in there long-term, as I am worried about its occasional and sudden defrosting. Not sure if I have a lemon or if all have this problem. Also, accumulates a lot of ice.

I read the other reviews and frankly, I am not sure where the negative comments are coming from. I bought this item 2 years ago. It was a demo/floor model and the last one in stock at Frye's Electronics in Dallas. I paid a whopping $ 149.00 for it. The best money I have ever spent! I was living in an apartment with a very small freezer space on the refrigerator and did not have a lot of room for a big freezer so this was perfect! Very quiet. Keeps everything frozen and even makes ice in a very short time. Frost build-up? Almost non existent. I had it over a year before I needed to defrost it. Perphaps the negative comments are coming from people who are not truly using it to store extra items, but are in fact "fanning" the door by opening it frequently? I would highly recommend to anyone else. Oh, and it's appearance is very nice as well. Living in an apartment, it was in a corner of my dining room and several people thought it was a classy little wine refrigerator, lol

Had to make this purchase under duress since our old (very old!) small freezer decided to quit at a most inconvenient time. After saving the contents from spoilage I found the SPT on Amazon at the right price with the right specs. It functioned as described at once and has continued to do so, consistently running colder than described. With all shelves easily removable and a superior door seal this model represents significant improvements in convenience and performance. Haven't had it very long so there are still the durability issues mentioned by other reviewers to evaluate.

While waiting for these issues of long-term reliability to reveal themselves or not, and now having three months experience with this freezer, the short-term experiences of other reviewers need to be addressed. Our freezer shows absolutely no evidence of random freezing/thawing cycles nor warmer than freezing temps at maximum settings; in fact, as suggested in the original review it actually needs to be ratcheted up to avoid -20 degrees. Also, we have noticed almost no noise from this appliance, even when it cycles; no excessive buildup of frost, either. This is being written to advise those with all these negative experiences to check out the possible sample defects of their particular unit and those who are contemplating this purchase not to be unduly influenced by those reviews.

Honest reviews on Sunpentown UF-311S Energy Star 2.8 Cubic-Foot Upright Freezer

this has been super useful for me. it has drawers which make it forever neat and organized. more practical than a drop down freezer which collects ice and becomes a huge mess within a month. there is more space in a drop-down freezer, so if you can sacrifice on the space this is a great product. It also has keys to look the freezer which is great for babies and for offices.

This small freezer works great in our RV. We are fulltimers so really like having more freezer space for meat, vegs, & fruit. The drawers are nice for organizing things and for accessing them also. It acts as an end table for the loveseat, yet stores so much.

Received this product very quickly along with an email from Motison asking me to call customer service to receive information on a "small glitch" in the WiFi set up process. Was able to install easily though I had to add a wire to the C terminal for power (lots of great advice on that when I googled). Customer support was great when I called to check that I had done the wiring correctly (I shorted the little test lamp and wanted to make sure I wouldn't hurt the thermostat in case I had wired something wrong). The person that I spoke with was eager to help and also explained the easy change I had to make in the WiFi settings before I was able to connect to my unit for programming. Everything from install to programming went smoothly.

I will say that the instructions are not perfect (besides the "glitch"). Setting up the "app" (it's not really an app, just a webpage that can be set up for direct access through your device) can be a bit confusing for those non-techie folks. But I imagine most people buying this are at least as techie as I am.

I love having remote control over the HVAC system. I also like that I can set the Cyberstat program to notify me (by email only) if the house gets too hot or cold or if the thermostat loses wireless connectivity for an hour or more. We recently had an issue with our old stat when we were on vacation and came home to an 84 degree house! At least if I had had warning, I could have called a neighbor to open some windows.

I am hopeful that this product will continue to fit the bill and work as advertised. Right now I am a happy Motison customer!

***** UPDATE 3 days in *****

First I will say that I am still happy with this product itself (yes, I know it's only been 3 days). I did have to come back to take away a star because of the confusing user interface. The controls should be very simple (system on/off, program being run when system is on), but they are not. The combination of choices for "MODE" and "PROGRAM" is a bit confusing. So much so, that I had to call Motison customer service (again) to have them explained to me. I was trying to turn the thermostat off and thought that if the MODE was set to OFF (as opposed to AUTO, HEAT, FAN or COOL), the PROGRAM setting would be ignored. Not true. In fact, I had to set the PROGRAM to MANUAL and the MODE to OFF. Perhaps a table in the instructions showing the combinations and how they work would be helpful in the future (or in the online FAQs). I will say that the customer service rep was patient and helpful!

I purchased the CY1201 WiFi thermostat on Amazon.com Prime and had it in two days. I found it very easy to install. Since it has no batteries, which is a good thing, it does require a common wire that my thermostat did not have. Fortunately my thermostat cable had an extra wire so this was easy to correct. If I had read the manual completely I probably wouldn't have had to call tech support at all, but I overlooked the part on page 12, System Configuration. As it says clearly on page 9, #10 You must finish system configuration on page 12 to operate your system. Once I did this the thermostat worked as I expected it to. I did struggle a bit with WiFi setup, but once I shut down five other WiFi devices in my home, two cell phones, two tablets and one of our laptops, it worked exactly as it was supposed to. I think the CyberStat was trying to connect on 192.168.1.3 which was already taken by another device, not really sure of this but once I shut down the other devices it connected immediately. One other hint, I did reconfigure my router to just WPA2 security which I think also helped. There were two bonuses that I was not aware of; first you can set the heat setting as low as you want, which is handy for me since I installed it in a vacation home in Ouray Colorado. Most thermostats will only go down to 50 degrees, which is probably a little warmer than you need to keep it to protect against freezing. Second, I felt that the temperature displayed by the CyberStat was higher than actual so I emailed tech support and they sent me instructions on how to go into the manufacturer's settings and adjust it to actual room temperature. I used another device to determine what the actual temperature was and then dialed in the CyberStat. BTW, even though they do not have an app per se for my android phone, if you follow their instructions you can end up with a bookmark on your home page that will take you directly to your settings. So far, I believe the CyberStat is a very good value and does everything and more than I expected it to do. I plan on ordering another one if it continues to perform as I expect it will.

This thermostat is great, works much the same as the Nest with Internet adjustments and programmability. The set up is quick and easy with any WiFi device, tablet or phone.

We are home most of the time, so haven't really played with the programming option, but it looks easy and powerful with adjustable settings for time of day and season. We use it with our tablets so we can adjust the temperature without getting out of bed at night or for quick fine tuning from our computers throughout the day. It's really luxurious to have that ease of control.

Something I love is that you don't have to use a battery! Our last smart thermostat by some other brand drank batteries at a frantic pace, so I know how frustrating that can be. It's easiest if you have a ground wire available in the wires going to your old thermostat. Worst case scenario is that you hook one up or you get an A/C adapter for the thermostat. Either way, your thermostat will keep working and you don't have to worry about an endless cycle of replacing batteries.

In my case, I had to connect a ground wire, but it turned out to be easy. We had a spare wire that wasn't connected to anything on the old thermostat. A quick peek at the A/C unit inside showed the same color hanging unused, so I loosened a screw touching metal, wrapped the wire around and tightened it. Tada! I had a ground wire (or common wire as they say).

I had the previous version or the CyberStat, which also was working well, but it had a glitch with a one segment of the LED not working, so the manufacturer kindly sent me a replacement model. Great, quick, friendly service! This new model is even quicker and easier set up. Great product and fantastic service at a budget price. Highly recommended!

I had $3000 worth of damage to copper pipes because my furnace quit during a hard freeze while I was away!

Purchasing the CYBERSTAT CY1201 is cheap insurance! I can now monitor the inside temp & if furnace is operating or not.

Customer service from the company is how it should be....first class!

When the older first unit wouldn't connect to my wifi, they immediately sent the upgraded CY1201 second day priority mail & included a return postage paid label.

Works great & gives me piece of mind.

I installed the CyperStat CY1201 on Sunday 10-13-13. Installation (replacing existing thermostat) was very easy and took about 15 minutes. I then logged in to the web site with my Iphone and followed the instructions to down load the App and activate the link to my new thermostat. This process took about 15 minutes. So far so good. The thermostat is working great from anywhere and installation was very easy.

I was excited when I ordered thinking finally a pump espressor for home that worked. This is my fifth pump espresso machine in less than 5 years. It was the same old story no pressure. I followed the book; bought grinds from fine, medium fine, medium and tried regular coffee. When I could finally get water through the coffee, there was no flavor. It was colored water. The one sure positive, it was quiet. I've already returned it in less than 30 days. Even though I bought it through Amazon, I still had to contact the third-party (Superior Sales) to return it and had to pay all shipping even for a defective product. I'm still waiting for a refund. That's a black mark against Amazon. It even suprised my spouse. I did not order a replacement.

I have had this unit since 1997, it should last forever.

We use it for making iced tea and coffee at least once but mostly twice a day.

We have it on a $15.00 appliance timer so the water is not heated between 10pm and 6am (it only takes

15 mins to heat up the tank if it is off) I make coffee at 6:30am it takes 5 mins

to make a pot (I can make as little as 4 cups) then I turn it off till the evening when

we make tea. I got tired of buying the $20 coffee pots that only last a year.

We love our BUNN VP17, having had it at home in our Kitchen for over 1 year now.

I am a hard core coffee addict, and in our house we can go through several pots just in the morning.

The coffee is always perfectly hot (200F) and the big BUNN brews a full 64oz pot of terrific coffee in 3 minutes.

This is a very sturdy, well built machine. Simple to operate and built like a tank.

When looking for a replacement coffee maker, we had some simple requirements (It had to be American made, and it had to be simple).

The last thing I want at 5am is to have to fight with a computerized coffee maker.

Pro's

Made in USA. Let's keep Americans working!

All Stainless Steel. No plastic

Simple to use. Just pour as much water as you'd like coffee.

High quality power switch for the lower burner

The coffee is always brewed at the perfect temperature

Water is always maintained hot inside the tank

It' s a BUNN

Great conversation pice in my kitchen

Con's

It is Big! and takes up a substantial amount to counter space

A comment regarding power consumption.

The BUNN VP17 is always "on". It has no power switch per se.

The internal tank has an independent thermostat and heating element. Once the unit is heated up, It will operate once (3-4 mins)/1.52 Hours.

During this hearing stage, the machine will use around 1500 Watts of power.

The independently switch hotplate draws about 50Watts.

Keep in mind, the BUNN has no water pump, so once it starts to brew, the water is gravity fed into the pot.

We are energy conscious, and have placed the BUNN on an appliance timer; turning in on at 4am, and off at 8pm.

Heat up from cold water takes about 20 minutes.

When our unit heats up, after being off for 8 hours, it only takes 5-10 minutes to get up to temperature.

This has resulted in a negligible change to our electric bill.

Overall, it is a wise investment. You can enjoy your coffee knowing you helped to keep fellow Americans employed.

And please try to buy American.

Tired of burning through cheapie pkastic drip coffee makers? I was. This is great...resturant coffee anytime. It works as well today (2011) as it did when I took it out of the box! It keeps the water inside hot by reheating it periodically. Don't worry, you'll never notice it on your electric bill. Well made, built to last. The VP-17 is made to fit under wall mounted kitchen cabinets. It comes with plastic pitcher for water. I use about 1/4 of the pitcher for one cup (mug) of coffee and about 2 scoops of ground coffee.

Honest reviews on BUNN VP17-1 SS Pourover Coffee Brewer with One Warmer

It's expensive. It stays on all the time, but it will be the last coffee maker your will ever buy. I purchased a bigger model for the office, and made the mistake of ordering the Plastic/metal pots for that product. They are hard to clean though hard to break. With this product for home I purchased glass pots. I would recommend the glass pots for this product. They are well made of treated glass and made in Germany. If you break them, it's easy to order another. They are much easier to clean and safe to put in the dishwasher. I Got two pots for insurance.

Hard water...no problem, the maker comes with a root rooter device to ream out the stainless steel tubing.

Made in the USA! Made to last. You can't ask for more!

I hope a few coffee aficionados will take a moment and read along in silent prayer; for my coffeemaker produced its final brew just last month. After so many years together it came as no surprise, but the sorrow still remains.

The Bunn is my coffee maker; I shall not percolate.

Bunn maketh my beverage in three minutes; it brewith my coffee with hot waters.

Bunn restoreth my soul; it leadeth me in the path of righteous joe for its name sake.

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of decaf, I will fear no freeze dried; for Bunn art with me; thy warmer and decanter comfort me.

Bunn prepares the mug before me in the presence of mine boxer shorts: thou filleth my head with joy; my cup runneth over.

Surely goodness and coffee shall follow me all the days of my life; and I will dwell in my house, with a Bunn, forever.

Amen.

I'm sure the soul crushing experience of having to replace such a faithful, long serving appliance will be with me for some time. But that's just what makes this banal piece of equipment transcend a level beyond that which a disposable society recognizes. For more than thirteen years my Bunn coffee maker has produced at least one pot of coffee per day, with vacations no more frequent than my own. Considering the purchase price and absolute care free performance, this amortizes to less than three cents per pot of consistent, fast and perfect coffee. What a fantastic value that device has been.

Through my grief, not anger since it lasted longer than any other coffeemaker (by an order of magnitude); I decided to take a leap to the commercial grade model (VP-17). It shares some similarities with the home version with a tank of water preheated and always ready to brew. This is the same philosophy which operates most home water heaters, where maintaining a hot tank of water is more efficient than starting from faucet temperatures. When the tank is filled with cold water, it displaces the water which was waiting at the optimal temperature, for a drip brewed coffee just like you get in every diner and restaurant across the country, because it is the same piece of equipment. You will need to order a decanter as the VP-17 does not include this accessory, but a fill pitcher IS included. I prefer the glass decanter for looks and performance since it has no moving parts like the broad lid on the home version.

This is a larger unit with the body standing at 16 7/8 inches and the filling lid topping out at 17 ¾ inches closed. Measure the area you are considering for any clearance issues.

It is a stainless steel beauty which is clearly built to last. The unit does come with some coffee filters which are larger than the home version. Remember you are brewing with the big boys now. If this machine lasts as long as the other, then I won't be buying another one till the year 2025, if man is still alive, if woman can survive.....

I ordered this to cycle on an exhaust fan in the laundry room. Both the original and the replacement did the same thing. Always on until turned to max high temp then would shut off. Tried reversing wires and called tech support. Returned for money back.

This is a good general purpose line voltage cooling thermostat. The good news is the deadband. Many of the line voltage thermostats very 8, 10, or more degrees between on and off. I'm using this thermostat to operate an exhaust fan used to cool a small data closet. Temperature control needs to be reasonably tight. This unit lists +/3 degrees sensitivity and my experience seems to indicate a deadband of about 4 degrees which is acceptable for what I'm doing. It uses a microswitch with bi-metal actuation and therefore is not affected by orientation (doesn't need to be exactly level). The readout temperature indicator is pretty cheap and I doubt it is very accurate but the setpoint knob seems to be right on. Works well.

The exterior is pretty cheap, so I can't give it

Overview: This is a great small size heater. It has two main setting "low" and "high". The low setting is nearly silent, so you can easily do certain task such as talking or listening to music without some background interference. It has 6 temperatures settings (in Fahrenheit): 65˚, 70˚, 75˚, 80˚, 85˚, and "Max". During the winter time, my room is about 55˚ Fahrenheit, using the max setting it gets my 10x12 feet room heated to 80˚ in 15~20 minutes. It has an oscillating feature that rotates about a 60˚ angle.

Pros: Quiet and many settings to keep your room at a comfortable temperature.

Cons: NO SAFETY FEATURE! I think this is the reason I took off a star. There is no safety function for this heater. If you accidentally knock it over, it'll stay on. I've used other heaters and they have a safety button on the bottom of the heater, if the heater is move even the slightest, it'll turn off as a safety precaution. Now why does this matter? If you have pets this can be dangerous; if your pet knocks the heater over and you're not around to see it, the heater will stay on and potentially danger items nearby or even catch things on fire due to the heat it is emitting. This can be a dangerous concern if you plan on leaving this heater on overnight!

Other concerns: There was a certain smell to the heater when I first used it. But after a few hours of use, there was no longer a smell. It consume 1500watts, it is on power hungry machine. I set the machine on "high" and on Max. When it gets to the temperature I'm comfortable with, I turn it on "low", so it shouldn't consume that much electricity.

Very warm heat. Love it! We don't have heat in our upstairs just yet so we needed something to get us by this winter until my husband puts in the ductwork. We have 3 bedrooms and 1 bath and it keeps it warm if we want it to. I love how you can control the heat it has a setting for 65,70,75 and MAX heat. It has a high and low speed but if you put it on low, you can't set the temp, it just runs on low the whole time. If you have it on high, it will shut off when it reaches the desired temp. It also has a oscillating setting which is nice I use it at night so it blows in all the bedrooms evenly. Happy with my purchase!

Honest reviews on Lasko 5309 Electronic Oscillating Tower Heater

Good heater, but if you are using this on a high setting which is 1500 watts, make sure the outlet you are using does not have anything else using the same outlet or the same line from other outlets or your will trip the breaker box. It you are using this as I am on a line not being shared, it is great. Uses 13.6 amps on high.
