I have a kitchenaid warming drawer that quit on my wife the other day. I did the troubleshooting and found this little safety switch to be the culprit. This switch is not re-settable. You have to replace it! What a scam!

Then came the hard part...finding a reasonably inexpensive replacement. I went to all the appliance sites and they all wanted at least $50 bucks plus shipping. Finally came to my senses and searched Amazon. To my surprise I got this one for $38 bucks including shipping. Took a week to get it, but I'm cheap and put up with the wife's nagging about not having a warming drawer for a week. My punishment was no warm meals when I came in from working on the yard. Oh well.

I can only hope that someday they'll come up with a re-settable thermal switch.

I was skeptical but hopeful when purchasing this item given the weak 8,000BTU rating and positive reviews. It's easy to set up for sure, and it blows cold air... but it doesn't do much of anything to cool a room. We put it in a 12x10 living room with a 4x6 blinded window in a small apartment well within the square footage rating for the air conditioner. Even with the temperature outside only reaching the low 80s, this air conditioner never made a single degree of impact to the living room temperature. By sitting within two-three feet of the unit, I could feel the cold air and feel a little better. But even just a few feet away, the room was hot. Also, although the automatic vents are neat, they don't move at all, so the unit fires mostly upward, probably 75 degrees angle from the floor. For a room where people primarily sit and yes, understanding of the "heat rises" idea the air goes right at the ceiling. I'm not sure if this is a design flaw or just an inconvenience. Regardless, the unit was completely ineffective and I'm returning it to Amazon.

I wanted to replace my 8000 btu window unit with a portable and figured an 8000 btu portable would be work fine. Boy was I wrong, this air conditioner despite the frigid sounding name, is anything but cold. My room is virtually a shoebox and this unit was not able move the dial more than 3-4 degrees. Very disappointing. The fan louvers were also not working right, it would get stuck and then jerk open forcefully.

The window kit is thin and tacky does not work well at all for horizontally sliding window. And in case you weren't aware, apparently you have to drain this air conditioner every few hours to keep it going.

Wish it worked like an air conditioner but it's just not working out at all.

Just finalized the return on this item with compact appliance (great customer service!) and I'm exchanging it for a frigidaire window unit at their recommendation over the phone.

Purchased this a month early before temperatures started to rise here in NYC. We have a small apt and planned on using this in either a 140 Sq ft room or a 90 sq ft room and this Koldfront isn't powerful enough to cool EITHER effectively.

Yes COULDN'T EFFECTIVELY COOL A 90 Sq ft room

It also BARELY dehumidified the room, if at all. We felt like we were in mildly cool dampness during our sleep.

I have no idea where these 5 star reviews are coming from, I base a lot of my purchasing decisions on amazon reviews and this is the first one I'm writing because this was such a terrible purchase.

Do yourself a favor and DO NOT buy this unit.

For a comparison, we have a Haier 5,200 BTU window unit and it is WAY more effective than this

Currently, looking for a better option and will return this one. Outside of the exhaust hose being gargantuin, and the window insert provided is for vertical window, not horizontal. And it's true that it does a poor job cooling the room. It also is loud on low, medium, or high. We have it in our living room, and you can't have a conversation while it's on let alone hear the television. More time was spent on design of this piece than function. May work for a bedroom for white noise, but the volumn of fan is more on the intolerable side.

I got this product because I live in an attic space and need the extra heat in the winter at night. Well, first of all this thing is loud. If you're a light sleeper, don't get this. Second, if you even scoot it along the floor (not even tilting it but just scooting), it shuts off. Every time the heat goes on or off depending on the thermostat, there's a loud beep. If you scoot it, there's a loud beep. If you do anything to it there is a loud beep. This heater is very annoying and I will soon be replacing it.

When my old Lasko heater died (the one whose remote control button function locations did not match the same function locations on the similar-shaped control panel on the unit a stupid design error), I looked for a different brand model heater that came with a remote control.

I thought I had found a reasonable substitute in this model, until I set it up and ran through the functions on the remote control, supposedly "the same functions as included on the control panel".

Guess what highly useful feature that I use frequently when I wish to adjust my heater before falling asleep withOUT getting out of bed got left OFF the remote control that comes with this machine:

THE TIMER.

THERE IS NO TIMER SETTING ON THE REMOTE CONTROL.

Whatever other features this machine has that might be nice, this machine is functionally useless to me, and I must return it.

Temperature sensor was bad on my heater...intermittently. This happen a couple of months after the purchase and Delonghi would not respond to my email.

Currently, the heater is broken (1.5 year old). The heater automatically turns off after a couple of minutes, in which it does not put out any heat during those few minutes. I'm shopping for a new heater now...hopefully the Lasko doesn't fail me.

Pros: small/easily placed, quiet fan, rotation (can be turned off), effective heat (at least for small space (area around a desk chair); I have not tried a large space), low price (I paid $40 from J&R)

Cons: high-pitched loud beep that sounds every time you change anything, including upon turning on and turning off, fan has only medium and high settings, no low setting

If you want a thermostat-controlled fan space heater then this is good for the price. If you want something with adjustable heat, this is not it. Heat is either on or off, depending on the temperature you set and the temperature that the heater's thermostat measures. If you want a little extra heat where you are sitting (e.g. chilly office), this is NOT a good solution because instead of providing a steady, low supply of heat that you can adjust according to your environment, the heater will just keep turning on and off according to the temperature setting. Every on and off is accompanied by a loud beep not really appropriate in an office.

If I had known that every change in setting and every on and off would be accompanied by a loud beep, I would not have bought this product.

This space heater apparently also acts as a space cooler-you might want to confirm that.

Cheap Sunbeam Channeled Microplush Heated Electric Blanket Queen Dusty

I have used many heated blankets and heated pads, this by far is the softest, nicest one yet. Most of the lower cost ones are somewhat on the stiff side but this one is soft and smooth as a regular lite blanket. I place this blanket between the top comforter and the flat sheet. My only disappointment is there are several models of this same blanket but with different controllers. What actual controller you receive tells you the features, but unfortunately the product descriptions all show the same controller in the photo, which is the one I received. The Sunbeam website as well as the directions included tells you to pick which controller you have, then the chart tells you if you have the 10-hour cutoff, which I had, the "preheat feature", which I did not, etc. As I type this I see the next review before this one says he has the preheat feature. I saw this same blanket at a Fred Meyers in Seattle with the digital controller that was nicer with the preheat for the same cost for mine. Only other disappointment, as with all blankets and pads, is the stiff uncooperative wiring that has the controller constantly falling off the nightstand. We finally started leaving the controllers on the floor. Overall, the nicest actual blanket itself I have ever had and I would still certainly suggest it.

This absolutely meets our needs. Very soft and lush feeling. Warms up quickly and holds a nice temp at low settings. Only criticism is that it tends to want to 'slide' down off the end of the bed. But if you have a footboard it probably would not happen. As with all electric blankets the controls never want to sit on the night stands so they are facing the bed!

Seems like a great product and value. However, they made the shelves too close together. It does hold the smallest bottles of wine, but many "Standard" bottles (Dancing Bull, Rancho Zabbaco, etc) don't fit unless they are jammed in and then you can't get them back out without unloading the whole thing. It was a complete waste of time and money, the wine cooler worked for about 4 hours and then this uncontrolled beeping noise would continueoulsy play. I unplugged the unit and tried resetting it but the noise was still there when I plugged it back in. I called the company and all they said was it might be the control board. My boyfriend bought this wine refrigerator for me as a birthday gift on a total whim. It was a fantastic, unexpected present and has so far worked perfectly for me. I've never owned a wine cooler previous to this one, but I do live in a smaller apartment, so it's compact size is exactly what I needed. As another review stated, the shelves are kind of close together preventing the BIGGER wine bottles from fitting side-by-side, however all standard wine bottles will fit. I tend to buy the larger bottles of Barefoot Moscato, in which case I simply remove one shelf for the time being. Personally, I'm not at the point where I've collected dozens of wines and will RARELY have more than 12 bottles at one time to fill this fridge anyway. I had this wine cooler for about 6 months before the temperature control stopped working and would not go below 68 degrees. I thought maybe the room was too warm, so I refrigerated a few bottles to see if it would at least maintain the current temperature, but within a few hours, those bottles were warm as well.

I tried contacting Amazon, who pointed me in the direction of the manufacturer, who of course, did not bother responding.

I am very disappointed and do not recommend this product. I will never purchase from this manufacturer again.

I gave it 2 stars because it was relatively quiet and compact.

The Pros are that the throw is a nice size for one person to get under. I am 5'10" and there is plenty of room. It is also made of nice plush material. It is soft and flexible even with the heating wires running through it. The controls are easy to use and there is a 3 hour cut off timer in case you fall asleep with it on. The cord is a nice length at close to 9 feet long.

The Cons are that I purchased two and one didn't work at all. The second one (that I had given my mom) stopped working within the first month. I offered to return it to Amazon for a refund but my Mom had fallen in love with how comfortable it was and said it was the perfect size. She is going to call Sunbeam for a replacement.

I was planning on purchasing more for Christmas presents when the price dropped back down to the $20 I had orginally purchased them for. I decided not to risk it because I am concerned with the reliability of these. I do not want to buy them early and have their warranty running while they rest in their box.

I am giving them three stars for their comfort and practical size. I am leaving two stars off because they are not as reliable as I had hoped for. I may try to buy them later in the year to see if their quality control has improved. They would make excellent gifts.

It has been 6 months since I returned the first throws I purchased. I wanted to try it again. The new throw stopped working within the first month. I was disappointed and returned it. I stumbled over another Sunbeam heated throw Sunbeam Royal Elegance Microplush Throw, Eggplant and ordered that one. I purchased the Royal Elegance Microplush Throw for $15.00 from Amazon which is $5.00 cheaper than I purchased the Sunbeam Camelot Cuddler Microplush Throw.

I received the Sunbeam Royal Elegance Microplush Throw, Eggplant and compared it to Sunbeam Camelot Cuddler Microplush Throw, Walnut. The blankets are exactly the same. The controllers are different. The Sunbeam Royal Elegance Microplush Throw, Eggplant controller has the cords coming and going out of the bottom which shortens the overall length of the cord by about 9 inches. The controller fits in my hand better and doesn't slip like the long grey controller of Sunbeam Camelot Cuddler Microplush Throw, Walnut. The big difference is that the Sunbeam Royal Elegance Microplush Throw, Eggplant actually works. I assume the controller was the weak link. If you don't mind loosing about 9 inches of cord length, paying $5 less, having a comfortable controller and having a heated throw that works then I would go with the Sunbeam Royal Elegance Microplush Throw, Eggplant instead of theSunbeam Camelot Cuddler Microplush Throw, Walnut.

Another thing to note is the prices of both throws go up and down through out the year. I have seen them as low as $15 and as high as $55 for the same items.

This heated throw is absolutely perfect for cold Minnesota nights. It is warm and snuggly just as it is, and when it is turned on, it is nothing short of heavenly! I had one of these years ago, but it wasn't nearly as plush or soft as this one is. It isn't intended to be used as a heating pad. It is a warming throw blanket for burrowing in to keep you warm and toasty, lessening the impulse to crank up the furnace. This easily takes the chill out of a winter night with even warmth surrounding you in luxurious, plush, softness. It's one of my favorite things!

First thanks to BIC Warehouse for excellent customer service.

I have used this Controller for over five years. I was able to install the original when replacing an older evaporative cooler. This made the wiring and installation relatively simple. Although fitting it in a standard electric box took a great deal of effort.

Recently I had to replace the original Controller as five quick power surges in the span of a few minutes shorted it out.

Dial is still using the same design. It works very well and makes my evaporative cooler much more convenient to use. Having a thermostat to cycle the cooler on and off is well worth the effort.

However, I have given it four stars instead of five for two drawbacks. As another reviewer has noted, it has a delay before coming on. This is to allow the pads to get wet, but the delay is a ridiculously long four minutes. Maybe a commercial installation might need four minutes, but for residential it is way too long and it happens every time even if the pump is not turned on. Quite honestly the only time the delay to wet the pads is needed is if the unit has been off for a very long time and even then it does not need to be four minutes.

Second, it would be nice if you could leave the fan running and have the pump cycle on and off as the thermostat engages or disengages the evaporative cooler.

Those are design changes that Dial should make. I would gladly pay an additional $10 or so for these two conveniences. Guess I should write Dial a letter but hopefully they will read this. (Update: I did write to Dial and never heard back) The Controller itself is excellent and very useful for anyone with an evap cooler.

I've also used the plug in type similar to the Lux WIN100 Heating & Cooling Programmable Outlet Thermostat and can recommend them as well for a cheaper and easier installation.

Having tried very similar units in the past with very disappointed results I was pleased to see this one works as advertised. I thought that since the company selling this thing is based in Phoenix they would not put an inferior product out there without having angry villagers storming their headquarters. But as another reviewer said, the 4 minute pad wetting cycle every time it turns on is ridiculous and it does generate a fair bit of it's own heat. I guess you need to pay quite a bit more to get a smarter one than only has a pad wetting cycle after the pump has not run for a certain time. As for the heat generated, if it makes any difference it just means the cooler will operate a bit more, here in the Sonoran Desert that's not a bad thing! And while it is said to fit in a 2x4 junction box, that's true, it will fit. But when you add the necessary wires and wire nuts behind it, good luck! I tried very hard to arrange the wiring so as to allow enough room for the controller but the best I could get was about a half inch protrusion from the box. The screws provided are long enough that it will mount that way and work. Sloppy looking but in a single box that's going to be an issue.

Every time I come into my house, I look at this thing (LOL), as it's very nice to now have a cool house when I get home from work. If you do have trouble getting this to work, check your wiring and see if there's a short. That's what my problem was: when the fan turned on, the (old) wires would short out the pump. I bought this model from Home Depot on clearance to warm up my basement last winter. It was a very long winter, and I ended up keeping it on 24/7 for almost 8 months. There was an immediate improvement even in the chilliest corner as soon as I switched it on, and the thermostat option was very helpful. Just recently the power light started flickering, and after that the overheat alarm started going off. I feel I got more than I paid for and so I hunted down the same model again for this winter!

Bought one of these about 2 weeks ago, seemed to work well at first. A few hours later the fan was making an annoying chirping noise off and on.

Fast forward 2 weeks, and I smell a burning electronic smell but can't tell where it's coming from. A few minutes pass and suddenly I see my shiny new space heater shooting sparks like crazy. Luckily I was across the room, and quickly unplugged it, otherwise it likely would have started a fire.

I bought a cheap one under the assumption they're pretty simple products, and anything should do the trick, but apparently "not burning your house down" is something you have to pay a little extra for.

I have been using one of these for seven (yes, 7) years at work and it's showing no signs of giving up the ghost. It runs almost all day every day including summer because the AC at work is too cold for me. I actually have another one waiting in the wings in case this does finally quit and am now buying one to replace a 9-year-old old Maxi-Heat in my bathroom. To those who let heaters run unattended (as in when you're sleeping)... you just shouldn't. If you must, get an oil-filled radiator type they're much safer to leave unattended

Well last night I woke up and felt cold. But the heater was still making noise. I got up and all the elements were off, there was a funny smell but the fan was still blowing cool air out. I toggled the switch and nothing would work.

So, I unplugged the heater, got my flashlight and screwdriver and looked inside. I took it apart(fan side) and the wire connected to the element had literally melted through the connection point and there were signs of burnt plastic on the wire and the connection point.

Basically there was a mini fire inside the unit while I was SLEEPING.I cannot explain how uncomfortable this knowledge made me feel today. I got lucky, but someone else might not.Someones kids may not,please avoid this product. I would never recommend this unit to anyone. Please don't buy this unit it quite literally could burn your house down while you sleep. Btw, the overheat alarm never went off, I don't understand how this unit is still on the market.

I am currently sitting in a cold room tonight because I have no heater down here atm. I need to get one tomorrow.If you have any question I will try to answer them.

As soon as I figure out how I will be reporting this to UL and see what they have to say, I have seen a few other negative fire related reviews about this product online.

I've used it for two winter seasons in a 20 x 20 room over the garage to supplement the faint wisp of air that comes from the main house HVAC system. The room use to be a constant 55-60 degrees. So this controller works exactly as advertised. I use it to control 1 small 8" duct fan and a large 10" centrifugal fan that cools down my home greenhouse at "night". During the "day" this controller works in my space as an emergency limit switch should my ventilation / ac fail to lower the temperature below 90F. Quotations around "night" and "day" because in my case "night" and "day" are reversed in my greenhouse as is the case for many plant growers.

If you are thinking of buying this you should know a few things.

(1) To control larger fans capable of being speed controlled only (>400CFM) that operate for longer periods I recommend the TMP-VSc unit over this one. The TMP-VSc automatically winds up and down the fan based on how close you are getting to the target temperature value. The VSc unit is only a little more expensive than the DNe, and in this specific scenario it will save you $ on your electric.

*Most in-line duct fans can not be speed controlled. Some lower quality centrifugal fans such as C.A.P.'s valueline are very noisy when speed controlled. Vortex fans are not noisy and can be speed controlled, just my experience.

Got this to automate the day/night temperature differential in my grow tent. It does a good job. I've got it connected to a heater at the moment and it does a great job. I gave it only 3 stars because there is only a 3-4 degree F variance when I place it on 7. Other than that minor problem this is a great unit!

Not much to be said about this controller. Arrived on time and works great. No rocket science involved with setting this baby up. Have my 6" inline fan plugged in to it and use it to vent hot air from my room. You can also plug an a/c unit into it if you wish instead of a fan.Either way it's worth every penny.

I guess you get what you pay for...but I just wanted the ambience of a "flame" in my living room. The heat is a bonus. I was replacing a previous electric fireplace. The flame "effect" has already stopped working, and I've only had it for about a month or so. If I "bang" on the back of it, the flame tries to work, but makes a grinding noise and quits again. My advice is to spend more money and get something a bit better than this.

I purchased this item on Sunday afternoon and it arrived via UPS ground this morning (Wed). I noticed instantly that the unit does not resemble the online or box photo. The handle is very shiny brass and the front door is shiny plastic (like a child's cheap toy#. The rest of the unit is made of thin, shiny metal #again, like a child's toy#. The legs are platic. It took about ten minutes to remove from the box and screw in the legs. It turned on instantly and has been running since #for about two hours). It makes more noise than I had anticipated but it's not overpowering. I am rating this four stars because I have no previous experience with electric fireplaces and I am not sure how what I have described compares with other units. If you are looking for an affordable, small, ambient, supplemental heat source that looks nice from across the room then buy this unit. If you are looking for something substantial or authentic, you will be disappointed.

This small stove looks nice, but is very cheaply built. When you open the front door, the plastic bends almost to the point of breaking just to overcome the magnet that holds it shut. The fan is very noisy sometimes, other times it's quiet. The bearings act like they were going out from day one. The flames work.....sometimes. If they don't move, bang the sides and they usually take off. I should have sent this back, but it really wasn't worth the effort after assembling it.

I just received my new stove today. I love this thing! It is a great size and the "flames" are more realistic than I thought they'd be. The glowing embers/logs also look very good. You could never mistake the burning effect for a real fire, but it looks much nicer than I ever thought it would and it provides great ambiance.

The heater also works very well. The best surprise of all is how quiet it is. You can hear the heater when it is on, but it is far from intrusive. It is completely quiet when the heater is not turned on.

When I first turned the unit on the flame effect was quite noisy. I tightened some screws that obviously loosened during shipping. Now it is as quiet as a church mouse.

You should be aware, however, that the stove doesn't look matte black like in the pictures. It is a gloss black, and the the handle is shiny brass. I like it better this way, though. It resembles one of those beautiful enamel wood stoves.

All in all, this was a great purchase. If you are on the fence I wouldn't hesitate, Amazon has a great return policy if you don't like it.

Was undergoing a gut renovation, and bought this for below the new bathroom floors. Inevitably, we went to install it about a month past when it was supposed to be installed! Nature of the renovation beast I guess. And we had bought the wrong size to top it off. We had a return (bought the wrong size initially) and even though it was past the return date, was able to return with the company.

If you are not an expert bathroom builder, this kit is just right for you. I was hesitant to install this mat in our bathroom. I was afraid of cutting the mat on accident, and although I am sure the company's warnings are justified, I did not feel we were ever at the risk of ruining the mat when installing it. The end result is a comfortably warm basement bathroom floor!!

Ups: -Price: it is comparably cheaper getting this kit than purchasing the pieces at lowes/home depot/tile shop

-Don't need to be an expert

Downs: the mat only comes in squares/rectangles, so you cannot hit every corner of the floor as you can when you use the wire system.

-Fishing the wire on the wall to install the thermostat is not as easy as I would like it to be.
