I had originally bought the Homewerks version of this one for $119. The network set up was no where as easy as this Honeywell. As a matter of fact I never got it to work. So I returned it. The Honeywell is very well thought out. It even has a function setting for hydronic systems. The set up leads you through a series of choices very deductively so the was no time wasted. Oh did I say I bought two? Yes and setup from beginning to end was about 1.5 hours. Be prepared though, you must have a ,VERY small screwdriver to hook up the wires. This was frustrating. I finally went out and bought an eyeglass repair kit because it has a screwdriver the right size. We'll at the moment they are both working. I'm monitoring 150 miles away! Love it.

I got a Mr. Heater Single unit about 8 years ago as a backup source of heat after hurricane Hugo knocked out our power for three weeks. It is still working fine and has come in real handy during infrequent ice storms and winter power failures.

My dad liked my single a lot so he bought a Mr. Heater Double to heat a big 3 car garage sized shop. He liked it but now thinks that a single would have worked fine as the double gets that big area heated in no time and keeps it really toasty.

My single unit works far better than gas logs to heat up a room. It does make a hissing sound that is not too loud but barely audible. A single will knock the chill off a large room in no time. A tank of propane will last about 30 to 36 continuous hours if you keep it set on low. I think this is a great alternative to other auxilary heat sources like Kerosuns or a fireplace. With an asthmatic child in our family, a kerosene heater is out of the question for us. This burns clean, creates no odor, smoke or soot. There's no maintenance, no wicks or anything like that. You can store it indefinitely untouched and then pull it out and fire it up with no preparation. I will buy another one if mine ever wears out.

I have recommended Mr. Heater to lots of my friends and family and have no reservation about recommending one to you. If you can't decide whether you need a single, double or triple I suggest trying the single first. Then if you aren't happy step up to the double or triple. It is really amazing how much heat a Mr. Heater Single generates!

It is rare to find a really good product that is durable and an excellent value. Mr. Heater is one of those rare finds. They are the Zippo lighter of auxillary space heaters in my opinion.

I live in the South, and in November each year I like to build a temporary enclosure for my deck. Last year I tried to rely on a firepit and electric heater for warmth--big mistake. This year I have the Mr. Heater--big bonus.

I've owned and operated the Mr. Heater for a few days now, and I can tell you that it really puts out the heat. If you're used to plug-in heaters you buy at Wal-Mart, you'll be blown away by the heat this thing puts out. 8,000 BTU's is incredible (that's the lowest setting). There just isn't anything comparable in its class.

I've never used propane before, so I was hesitant (there's just something about all that compressed lethel gas that gives me pause). But, it has been easy.

1. Buy the Mr. Heater and READ the manuel.

2. Go to Home Depot, Lowes, etc. and purchase a 20lb. propane tank. At the time of this writing, it costs about $48 for a filled tank (since you're a first-time buyer).

3. There's a threaded pipe part of the Mr. Heater that you press into the companion pipe on the propane tank; twist the nut on the Mr. Heater into the propane tank. Use a wrench to tighten.

4. On the propane tank is a faucet-like handle that you turn to open the gas flow.

5. Turn the Mr. Heater nob to the Medium dot.

6. Press in the Ignition.

** I recommend checking for leaks by using some soapy water. Please do this--only takes a minute. **

7. Use a match or candle lighter placed with a flame where it says.

8. It will immediately ignite; hold in the ignition for up to 30 seconds and release.

Voila. You've got instant heat--and it's instant! To turn off, just turn the Mr. Heater nob back to Off. Also, very important, it's a good idea to "close" the gas flow from the propane tank, so just turn that faucet to the closed position.

Refills are currently about $17. Just take the tank in, and at Home Depot, the used propane tank is swapped out for one that's already filled.

It's that easy! As one reviewer noted, it's not completely silent. There is a low hiss (from the propane release), but it hasn't bothered me at all. An excellent heater.

We live right on a coastal cliff in Northern California, so cool sea breezes are a way of life. It never gets over about 72 and almost never below about 50 during the day/early evening.

We have a small deck and have looked longingly at the big overhead gas heaters, but rust is such a problem here and the space so small that it wasn't really an option.

We got this heater almost as an experiment to see if a small horizontal unit would let us sit out in the evening, where after sunset it's usually around 55, too cool to sit comfortably.

And it works! The great thing for us is it's small enough to stuff in a wardrobe until needed.

It screws onto a propane bottle quickly (in fact once I've finished barbecuing I just unhook the bottle, drag it over to where we sit and attach the heater to the top.. it all takes about 2 minutes).

The heat is good, but not what you would call particularly radiant, which is to say most of the heat goes straight up, BUT the refector does a good enough job that if we (two of us) sit reasonably close together we for sure get a nice steady warming effect with it on max.

To sum up, it does what it says and is a good option for those who want to warm an area of their porch, but keep in mind it will be a small area unless you have a fairly enclosed space which will stop the heat escaping.

I think a larger refector would do a better job for us though, and if given the chance over I would probably spend a little more to get the same make but with the double reflector.

However this is a great product and I can wholeheartedly recommend it.

The heater works as advertised. I have almost finished my second 20lb propane tank using this heater with no issues. I am located at about 5400 feet above sea level for those with concerns about using it at altitude. I have noticed that on the high setting (it also has low and medium) it tends to produce a slight propane odor. This is most likely due to the lower quantity of oxygen at our altitude, and therefore does not produce a complete burn. However, the medium heat setting works great and gets my 2 car garage comfortably warm in about 30 minutes.

I wasn't thrilled about plunking down $150 for a coffee pot, especially after reading the reviews about how they leak. I guess I was one of the lucky ones or BUNN has fixed their leaking problem. My coffee pot works perfectly. This is the best coffee pot I've ever owned. I have coffee on all day long and I was getting tired of throwing out old coffee. With this pot, the coffee stays hot all day without that burnt taste. I'll probably save money in the long run since I'm not throwing coffee out. I am very fussy about my coffee and as soon as it is the least bit old, i won't drink it. Ever since my first Bunn, I have not used any other coffee pot. I can't even drink coffee that comes from another pot. I don't know why it makes such good coffee, but it's just awesome, not to mention that by the time I get my cup and put the cream in, the coffee is done. Bottom line: This coffee pot makes the best coffee, it makes it FAST, and it stays hot all day. I just had to write this review because I am thrilled with my coffee pot.

We bought this particular model because we want our coffee to brew fast and wanted an insulated pot to avoid coffee cooking or forgetting to turn off the burner. It would be an exact fit for our requirements if not for a few quality flaws. First, as with another Bunn we recently owned, the water releases into the grounds in such a way that they splash up the side and a little bit out of the grounds basket creating a mess you don't have with other brands. (We've tried different methods to prevent this but they don't work consistently.) Also, where the top black piece of the pot assembly is supposed to be sealed with the chrome portion, there is not a tight seal so when you pour a cup of coffee it dribbles out of the seal which makes a mess. (No we haven't dropped it or put it in the dishwasher this started within the first few days of use.) Summary: Was willing to pay the high price to get the features and company name behind this product initially but the quality of the build is disappointing. Thought the quality problem with my first Bunn purchase was perhaps a one-time thing. Considering this second quality problem with a Bunn purchase, I will not be buying any future products from them.

The carafe doesn't really leak, rather, the spout is made out of really miserable plastic. So after one time in the washer or after a week or two of hand washing the lip gets a tiny fuzzy rough edge which makes it dribble most of your coffee down the side of the carafe. It's a terrible defect, but the workaround is simple enough. Every week or two use a scouring pad with moderate pressure to "polish" the lip of the carafe and you can safely pour your coffee into your cup rather than all over your counter and yourself. I'm still ticked off about it on principle, but it's a minor inconvenience overall.

Without a heater, the coffee won't be very hot after an hour or two, so if you like your old and stale but hot coffee over the course of the late morning and early afternoon, get a regular carafe and heated tray.

And the Bunn filters are a must. They are taller and I have never had a spill with them. I just received my second box of 1500 or so filters from Bunn and I've had this thing for about three years.

It makes fine coffee and does it quickly. They should fix the plastic, but I'm very happy with this coffee maker.

This wireless thermometer works extremely well and is easy

to set up but you absolutely must follow the directions exactly.

Range is excellent but just make sure that some large object such

as a metal shed or a large oak tree is not in line-of-sight between

any of the transmitters and the receiver.

I am using 3 of these temp sensors with the 915 MHz receiver. One

sensor came with the receiver, and I just purchased two more, since the

receiver can display up to three different temperatures from three

sensors. However be advised that if you carry one or more of these

sensors out of range and the receiver loses track of it, you absolutely

must take the batteries out of all three sensors and out of the

receiver and re-initialize all of them. This is not a difficult step,

since I did it several times while playing around with the sensors to

see how much range they had which resulted in the receiver losing

track of one of them.

When you first see the instruction booklet that comes with the receiver,

it looks daunting, but not to worry, since only a tiny part of it is in

English, with all the rest in other languages. Once all the temp sensors are

initialized, then it takes only a few seconds to set the clock.

I read in other reviews that some buyers had problems getting their

receiver to respond to some sensors, but that is because the buyers failed

to properly re-initialize their units. Also be advised that if you buy

a display unit that receives transmissions at 915 MHz, then you absolutely

must buy sensors that also transmit at 915 MHz. Several of the sensors

that are sold by Amazon look alike, but not all of them use 915 MHz, so

carefully read the tech specs to make sure that both the transmitter and

the receiver operate at 915 MHz.

This is my second wireless thermometer system in our home. I wanted this one to be placed near my recliner so I could check the temp's without going to the other room. This unit is very accurate and I had no issues with syncronizing the sensors. I also placed a sensor upstairs so I could monitor the guest bedrooms. This unit is a good value and works extremely well. The size of the display is large enough for easy viewing for my older eyes....

I bought a couple of these this last Christmas (2009), one for a gift and one to use myself. I liked the idea of the large read out and the simplicity of the display. Time, inside temp, and outside temp. I didn't see the need for the full blown weather station with the ability to forecast the weather. Somehow I don't think a simple device can do what mankind has struggled with for the last 100 years at least. But I digress...

As stated, the readout is big and clear so that's a plus. It requires little knowledge to set it up correctly. Just follow the included instructions and you'll be up and running in 5 minutes. I've only had it running now for two months but the regular alkaline batteries are holding up well. With the remote set about 80 100 feet away it indicates with a flashing icon that it's receiving the signal fine. So that's all good.

Now the bad. Or maybe I should say "not so good." It's accuracy is questionable to be sure. Even putting the remote right alongside the indoor unit the readings aren't exact. You would think it would be at least +/.5° in that scenario but that's not the case. Mine seemed to wonder +/2° between what the indoor and outdoor readout indicated while sitting right next to each other. Although it seemed to get a little better with time, it never got exact or even within the .5° mark. So I decided to put the remote under the roof edge of the north facing outside wall of the house. About 40 feet (and three walls) away. The first thing I noticed is that it took a very long time for the outside temperature to change. I mean really long. After sitting out there all night I compared the temperature I was getting with the local weather. My thermometer was reading 5°F high. Hmmm.... Went out to my Jeep and checked the temperature on the information center which has always been accurate. It also showed my theremometer as reading 5° high. I assumed it was possible the my house was loosing "some" heat, but if that was the case I needed to do some insulating mighty quick. So anyway, I moved the remote out to my un-attached and un-heated garage. Now it is constantly reading between 6° 18° high! I mean really, 18 degrees off? What's the point? The colder it gets here in Wisconsin the more it's off. Today with the temperature a balmy 27°F outside according to the local weather station, my theremometer says it's 33°F. It seems the warmer it gets the closer it gets to reality.

I was tempted to send it back since a thermometer that is this inaccurate isn't worth the batteries it's discharging, but thought WTH. I didn't pay all that much for it and it's better than nothing, just barely.

I'll have to check with the person I gifted with the other one. I suspect that one isn't any different. I think given the low price this is what one could expect, even though I was hoping for better.

In summary.... The clock is dead on accurate. Readout is big and clear. Hasn't eaten any batteries yet (two months and counting). Range seems fine. Indoor temperature seems about right. The outdoor temperature is slow to react and has a mind of it's own. So yeah, not bad but not great either.

As a tech guy I admit, I really wanted to love this product but about 30 minutes ago I threw it in the trash. As others have said, you must follow the written directions *precisely* to make the thermometer work. However, once you get a reading from the outdoor sensor, the receiver can lose the signal very easily requiring a needlessly complicated reset. Furthermore, it seems almost anything can interrupt the signal from one piece being too close to a solid object (like a wall or a tree) or a metal object between the transmitter and receiver (such as a metal screen on a window or door). This is true even when the transmitter and receiver are less than 3 feet from each other and using fresh batteries. I'm sorry, that is just not an acceptable level of performance. I'm sure the thermometer works wonders in certain, very specific situations but after 8 months of tinkering with all manner of different configurations, I am convinced this product is just not suited to a typical urban environment.

There are better thermometers out there and it's worth while to spend a little more to get one that does what it's supposed to do. Sorry La Crosse, you've lost my business.

I bought this and had a hard time getting the outdoor sensor to work. When I got it working I had it placed right next to the indoor unit. They displayed different temps. Thus not reliable. I put the outdoor unit outside and it worked for about a week. I replaced the batteries and nothing. I returned to Amazon for an exchange. Got the new station and the outdoor sensor didn't work at all. I returned it to Amazon for a complete refund. The only thing I can say positive about all of this is Amazon is great about returns as long as you are within there return policy. I love buying from Amazon I just will not buy this again. I will research other indoor/outdoor units.

It's better looking than the pictures and has cool blue interior lighting. The slide out shelves make it easy to reach items in the back and have stops to prevent them from coming all the way out. Most important, the unit allows me to maintain different temperatures on each side. The beer stays cold and the wine is chilled (very satisfied). I live in BC Canada and live in an older home. I took temperature readings around the house before and after installing these heaters. I have 5 of them in 3 bedrooms and two large hallways. My old energy consumption was 7500 watts per hour for the 5 old heaters. Currently my new heaters use a total of 2000 watts per hour and far more efficient so they run less than my old heaters. That is a 73% Energy savings!!! Each of these panels use 400 watts of power (which is like running FOUR 100 watt light bulbs)

This heater is more like a "room temperature maintainer" than a heater. It's great to use in a bedroom and bathroom (up to 120 Sq feet) however remember that this heater works best to keep a room temperature at a certain temp, rather than heating a room quickly. So if you room is at a certain temp, this heater will make sure it stays at that temp. In fact it takes HOURS to heat up a room with this heater, but that's how radiant heat works. It's a slow and steady process. Once it gets to a target temp, it keeps temperatures nice and warm and comfortable rather than feeling like you are in a blast furnace. Think of a camp fire. You can warm yourself directly off the fire (like a traditional heater) or heat your feet on some fire stones around the fire for many many hours (like these heaters.

I highly suggest you buy a temperature control wall socket switch (or build one using a single pole thermostat). That's where you get the most energy savings. That's because once you hit the target temp, these heaters really do a great job kicking on for a few minutes to maintain a temp and shutting off. NOTE: even when power is cut to the panels they still generate heat for 30 to 45 minutes. This is because the panels are nothing but an electric element encased in a ceramic panel. The element heats up the cermanic panel and that's what really heats up the room. Takes a while for these panels to cool down, so you get a heating bonus even with power is shut off.

====TESTING========

Here's my Test numbers using the Panel heaters:

BEFORE

Bedroom at 8 pm (before heaters) : 20 degrees Celsius (or 68 F)

Bedroom at 8 am (when I get up before the heaters): 12 degrees Celsius (or 53.6 F)

AFTER

Bedroom at 8 pm (with heaters) : 20 degrees Celsius (or 68 F)

Bedroom at 8 am (when I get up): 21 degrees Celsius (or 70 F)

These numbers are consistent in all the rooms I tested. So use these panels do work.

=====IMPORTANT OBSERVATIONS======

1) When they mean 120 sq feet. They REALLY mean 120 sq feet in a well insulated room. If you have bad insulation, these heaters will do nothing. Don't even think about using these to heat an open concept large room.

2) The lower to the ground, the better these things work. The instructions suggest 3 to 6 inches off the ground and that's the best. I mounted one in the centre of the wall because of all the stuff in the room. Compared to the one's I have at the 6 inches off the ground, the performance difference is quite extreme. Almost a 60% loss in efficiency. Makes sense because these heaters send heat upwards and not forward. So it sends hot air up the wall..heating also the wall on the way up to the ceiling. The longer the stretch of wall to heat, the more effective it is.

3) These heaters do get hot but don't damage the walls. I have pets that like to sleep close to them and you can touch them by hand and not get burned...but not for long. Please don't put crap in front of the heater. That just should be obvious.

4) Painting these do help it blend into the environment of the room walls very well. You kind of forget about them unless you get near them.

5) Heaters are completely silent. No fans.

6) The heat feels different. My old heaters felt like a hair-dryer on my face when the fans kicked on. This heat is more subtle and more cozy. Feels more like being in a blanket of warm air in summer time.

===== Cons =========

1) THE SMELL!!! When you first fire these heaters up, they have a toxic smelling scent off the heaters. NO! IT'S NOT ACTUALLY TOXIC but enough to take notice and go on-line to see if this stuff is safe to breath. Turns out it's a protective coating (for shipping purposes) that needs to burn off for 8 hours to one day. After you burn it off, there is no scent at all.

2) No instant gratification. It's a hard adjustment for some people not to turn on a heater and not get blasted with heat. These heaters take some time to get used to but once you understand they are meant to stay on for long periods rather than short bursts, you sort of forget that these heaters are on.

===== CONCLUSION =====

I would only recommend these heaters under very SPECIFIC situations (like not freezing in your bedroom while sleeping. It does what it does incredibly well as long as you stay within those specifics situations. I have used these heaters when it was snowing and they worked great, especially with my temperature controlled wall sockets. My energy bill has gone down by 70% from the previous year. It maintains the temperature of the house better than any heater I have ever own...short of a Central Heating unit and those cost alot more to run than these heaters. So if you have a bedroom or a place with pets or kids where a heater can be a fire hazard (under 120 sq feet), then this heater will work great to get the chill out of a cold climate area.

We have used 4 of them in our house for 4 winters. Our house was built in 1928 and is located on an island in SE Alaska. It gets cold and humid(60%+ year round) here, and never gets that warm in the summer(mid 50-70*) The only insulation is in the couple walls I have torn down to insulate. Half the windows are old wood single pane and the other half are milgard. We heat our home with a wood cookstove stove on the main level. We have one unit in the master bedroom(12'x14'), one in the spare bedroom(11'x14'), and two in the kids bedroom(18'x11'). The two in the kids room are on timers so they alternate through the night as to which is on. The spare and master room units are only on when we turn them on(usually only at night). They have kept the rooms warm so I would not have to get up in the night to tend the wood stove. We love them. They are great for when the weather turns cold out but not worth the hassle of starting a fire up.

I was in the market for a baseboard heater for my newly renovated basement bedroom but I was not satisfied with the traditional high wattage heater, so decided to search for a better solution. I was impressed by this product and the reviews, so decided to take the plunge and order one. I also ordered the plug in thermostat for the unit as well. My bedroom is roughly 200sq ft or so and upon turning the unit on for 10-15min, the whole room is nice and cozy. As for the surface itself, it is not too hot to touch at all.. I mean it is more than lukewarm but definitely won;t burn your hand on it (after about 30min of operation).

With the high hydro cost, I highly recommend this unit. Oh, the best thing is that it runs on regular Voltage, so there is no need to do any re-wiring at all. Just plug and go!

Bought this for a drafty home office after reading Amazon reviews, and I have to say, it works. Since we rent, and I didn't want to put too many screws into the wall, I attached the heater to a large piece of particle board, and now I can move it anywhere I want and simply lean it against a wall. Keeps that room fairly toasty, and the heat doesn't feel too "concentrated". It circulates noiselessly around the room, and you actually have to be really close to the unit to feel the heat coming off of it. Not so hot as to be unsafe, but warm enough to do an effective job. No complaints at all so far!

This works better than the electric blanket. A few hours before going to bed I turn it on to about 5 and turn it off once I'm in bed and the warmth remains til the morning. Also I don't have to have the thermostat on so high which can be uncomfortable. Now every bed in the house have one for the winter and it works wonders!

This is my first time using a heated mattress pad, and I'm pretty satisfied with it. It has 10 heat settings and an Off button on each control, separate controls for each side of the bed. The padding is light and I can feel the wires that're about 3mm diameter. Since I have a mattress pad already, I put it under my own mattress pad and I don't feel the wires anymore. This also keep the heat milder, which I like. I turn the heat setting to Hi 40 minutes before bed and turn to Low when I get in bed, that keeps me warm throughout the night. The reason I give it 4 star is due to a few' It's warm under the pillow which I don't think is necessary for energy saving purpose' power plug isn't at head side of bed but at foot side (I followed instructions and made sure the orientation is correct); wire is kind of big; control isn't stable on night stand due to its light weight and big wire attached to it; control is warm even when turned off (still using electricity). After all I paid $68 for King size, I'd say it's a product with good value!

My soft-sider waterbed heater doesn't work anymore and I decided to try this product. Wow! It's nestled between the featherbed and the attached pillow topper. Thirty minutes before retiring I turn it on and when I get into bed I'm so comfy. I set it at ten at first,then turn it down to five. Regarding the complaint about the controller, since I no longer even tuck in the ends of my top sheet, I just dangled it at the foot end. No lump to bump into. Who wants their pillow heated anyway? Obviously, I didn't use the portion that would usually be snapped into place around the bed. The pad stays flat because of the compression it gets from the featherbed. I have a queen-sized but only ordered the full. I don't have to heat the edges of the bed. The warmth from the pad radiates enough.

My son is very cold-natured, and doesn't like cold beds. I tried flannel sheets, warm footie pajamas (he still sleeps with both)and he has a warm blanket-he still complains the bed is cold (mainly when he get's in). I have an electric blanket on my bed, which he discovered one day. He loved it so much, I let him "borrow" it that night. I planned to order a second electric blanket so we would both have one, however I discovered online that it is dangerous to let young kids sleep with electric blankets mainly due to the blankets getting crinkled upthe wires can get damaged and bent, so it's a fire hazard. Yikes! I went and turned his blanket off for the night as soon as I read that, next I ordered this heated mattress pad for him. The next morning I saw that the electric blanket he had slept in had indeed become quite wrinkled and bunched up in his bed, so I knew the heated mattress pad was a better choice for him.

This heated mattress pad really is the perfect solution for him. I pre-warm his bed before he gets in, then turn it off (or sometimes on the lowest setting) for the night. When he first gets in the bed, the gentle warmth is soothing to him. He snuggles himself into a cozy position and says, "aaahhh I love my bed," and for what it's worth to other tired mothershe actually lays still, and GOES TO SLEEP!I no longer have to pray to the nap/sleep gods like I used to ;) Unlike a blanket, I don't have to worry about it getting twisted up, and the fit is perfect: it fits securely over his deep pillow-top mattress. I put a thin, waterproof mattress cover over the heated mattress pad to protect it. (
