I got this to replace the oven knob that snapped off my range. Sure enough, it was exactly the same as the one that broke, just, newer. They should really offer this in a "tarnished" finish since the stark white looks out of place with the other four range knobs that are all a tarnished yellow color.

Still, much better (and cheaper) than the generic replacement oven knob that I picked up from Home Depot.

Got this to replace an old knob that had all the print worn off from cleaning. The old knob had an adjustment on the back to calibrate the knob with actual temp of the oven. This one does not. I'll just have to keep an eye on my oven thermometer. It is also grossly overpriced for a piece of plastic.

I needed to get a heater because where I live, my roommates keep the house kind of cold, for whatever reason. Anyhow, I purchased mine from Wal-mart because I was looking for something inexpensive to keep jack frost away at night. Well, this did it! I turned on the heater and it was super warm and amazing. I woke up the next morning and I was actually a little hot! I thought the roommates turned the central heat up but when I opened the door it was unbearably cold in the rest of the house. I would recommend this for anyone who needs to warm one semi-large room. This may not work for a large room like, say, the living room. It works for a bedroom just fine. One great feature to this heater is that if it falls the heater cuts off because it is not sitting upright, meaning that is diminishing the threats of fire. Purchase, you won't be sorry!

I bought my first one about 4 years ago, and it had always worked well. Sadly, this year I had to replace it. The thermostat no longer allowed it to run more than 5 minutes before shutting down.

It was nice to see what appears to be the same Heater, still available, with same features and an even more modern look. I bought it immediately.

However, new is not always better. This new model does not heat up as quick. It also does not get a mid sized room as toasty as the one I had before, tho it still consumes the same 1500 watts.

PROS:

Heats a small to medium area eventually.

Apparently a safe product.

CONS:

Disappointed it did not work as well as its earlier version.

Heat blowing out from it's 360 degree fan coverage should give results better than it does.

Bottom Line: A nice heater that could be better.

I've had this space heater since the beginning of winter and have used it in the bathroom to warm it up before I shower and next to me while I'm on the computer. The last time I used it I noticed a burning smell and discovered to my dismay that the heater was melting in on itself. The plastic housing was too hot to touch and was warped. I immediately unplugged it and carefully carried it outside because of the noxious-smelling fumes emanating from it. When contacted, Honeywell stated that they'd be glad to replace our heater, if we paid for shipping and a "fee." In other words, buy another heater to replace the faulty one. Avoid Honeywell!

I bought one the winter of 2011. It was a warm winter and it was rarely used. When it was on, it heated well, but the little heat it dispersed could not be felt from too far away. It worked well in conjunction with the furnace being on. After about 20 uses it went into a storage room. This fall, i took it out and turned it on. Only the fan was working, the elements in it were not heating up, even on the highest settings. I bought a new one and returned the old one. This new one has worked fine all winter so far. It heats the same as the old one. My son likes to sit over it at his feet while he's on the edge of the recliner with a blanket and it warms him up well. It has a built in thermostat that shuts it off if it detects the heat is beyond a certain temp, and it automatically shuts down if tipped over. These are nice features of this inexpensive product. If my first didn't die after only a small number of uses, i would give it a 5 star review for the price. Because it can die after so few uses, it may not be worth it. I would highly recommend buying it someplace that's close and easy to replace in case it does quit.

I bought this and it works GREAT! It takes cold air and forces it through a fan up and out the top of it in a 360 degree area where ever you sit it. Its best to use it on the floor since cold air is dence and always on the floor etcetera. When it heats up a room it really heats up a room when my furnice went out it kept my pipes warm as well as the basement til it was fixed, I purchased another one for the second floor which worked great it kept everything comfy another thing I like about it is that the plug doesn't heat up like on most heaters even when you switch it onto the hotter heat setting it's still warm to the touch and your plug outlet isn't blazing hot all n all it's a great buy there's also a larger version of it which has really nice features and does just as well but in a bigger version this is the best portable heater I've ever purchased..

This thermometer is exactly what I Needed. My fridge seemed to be all over the place and we had a few gallons of milk go bad before the use by date. We were a bit concerned after reading some of the reviews here that indicated that two of these units read several degrees apart from each other. We purchased two units to check the temp of our new fridge and freezer as well as checking the temps on our second fridge in our garage. We used a high quality digital probe to compare readings and found that both units were accurate and both units displayed the exact same reading when placed together in the same location.

Based on this, we can't agree with the low score reviews that indicated otherwise. The dial on this themometer is large and easy to read and responds quickly to temp changes such as when the door of the fridge or freezer is opened for any length of time. Considering the affordable price, you could do much worse than this product!

We are very pleased with the purchase and may even purchase two additional units so that we can have permanent temp monitoring in both of our fridges.

I purchased this thermometer to replace an inaccurate one. I now have two inaccuated ones.

I purchased the Taylor commercial digital "food" thermometer at the same time. I calibrated the "food" thermometer (as per the instructions) in a ice bath. The Taylor "food" thermometer was accurate.

I then compared the calibrated food thermometer to this freezer-refrigerator thermometer, at refrigeration temperatures (38 degrees). This freezer-refrigerator thermometer reads 8 degrees low. This is a potential safety hazard since a refrigerator at 50 degrees would read at a safe level of 42 degrees.

I expected better accuracy, especially since this product bears the NSF logo. There is no calibration adjustment knob/screw on this model.

I plan to contact the manufacturer for a replacement.

Got this to use in my office during the winter. The 1 touch button is completely annoying because you have to push it repeatedly to get what you want. And the thermostat settings do not work at all and the heater remains off when in the thermostat settings. This is frustrating because even the LO setting is to warm so I want it to just detect when to turn on and off automatically rather than me wasting time and constantly turning it on and off automatically. I am going to return this product ASAP and get a space heater with dual knobs.

I bought this one a long time ago. Maybe there are better heaters out there but this one does the job, and it does not get so hot that you end up burning yourself when you touch it, yet it heats a small room fine. Here are the pluses and minuses:

Positives:

+ Reasonably priced

+ Can keep a bedroom plenty hot

+ The exhaust grill stays cool. I feel safe with it around my 3 year old, and felt safe with it around him when he was 2 (even let him play with it)

Negatives:

The one-button interface is a bit irritating. You need to push it a bunch of times to hit the temperature you need.

The thermostat is not very accurate, it's probably off by as much as ten degrees. I keep it on "80", when I really want 70. Sometimes when I want it hotter, I put it on "High", but that means that it stays on and never shuts off, and I end up overheated. I wish it had a setting for "90", so that I could get it to heat the room to 75.

I will probably buy a second unit, and would not feel bad recommending this to someone else. I bought several other space heaters that were more expensive, cheaper, more feature rich, etc., and ended up returning them in frustration because they all shared the common problem of burning whoever touched the grill. Having gone through so many others looking for a replacement, I have a greater appreciation for this little guy.

This is a heating pad for the long term. It heats to a specific temperature you set which is very nice, so much better than the four settings on most heating pads. You also can set it for a specific amount of time up to 60 minutes which beats the pads that make you hold a button down to keep it on. There is a quiet yet audible tone to let you know you set it and that it is turning off. It allows you to reset it for another 60 minute cycle immediately if you hear the tone which is a nice way to prevent you from harming yourself without being too big brother-ish or waking you up. Overall, I love this heating pad. My only complaints are about the controller, but the heating pad itself is very nice. I like that the temperature is variable and that if I really want it to be hot, it is. The pad heats up quickly.

My biggest complaint is that the controller doesn't have a light on it. It's hard to read the display in dim light. If I'm lying in bed in the darkness and just want to adjust the temperature, I don't want to have to get up, get out of bed, and walk over to the light switch just to do it. Generally, I grab my cell phone which is on the night stand and do my best to use it like a flash light, but the controller is still hard to read by that dim light.

The controller has a timer, and you can only have the heat on for 60 minutes, maximum. After that, it shuts off. I understand that safety feature. Sometimes, I like to just keep the heating pad on my lower back or on my shoulders while I watch TV or work on the computer in the evening and I would prefer it to be on for longer than 60 minutes. It's slightly annoying to have to reset it. If you turn it off, it remembers how much time was left. And it remembers the temperature setting, too. When you turn it back on, it sets it to the same temperature and gives you the remaining minutes. If you want to change either, you can, at that point. I generally like to keep it in the same temperature range, so that's fine. I would prefer that instead of giving me the remaining minutes, it would reset to 60.

This was definitely worth the money to me. Mainly because it can get up to a very high heat.

After using an old-school heating pad, this is like walking on the moon. It magically provides moist heat that gets plenty hot deep down into muscle tissue, with adjustible temperature and time controls. The other reviews are spot on with their complaints: 1) It would be great if the control had backlighting of some sort, because it's very difficult to see the settings without having to interfere with your rest by putting some light on it to set the temperature or time or to turn it (back) on or off; and 2) the loud beep it makes when cutting off is rather annoying, since if you're using a heating pad in the first place, you're probably sore, achy and in need of rest, so to have it sound an alarm when it cuts off can awaken you and/or anyone else in the bed, but we've found that muffling it is possible by gently placing the control beneath a pillow, throw or stuffed animal. Despite those two wished-for changes, this heating pad is worth every penny. In fact, we ended up getting two so that hubby and I both have one at the same time, without having to swap one back and forth when, for instance, we're both in need after physical therapy, exercise or injury. I was looking for a good heating pad for my back and liked several functions this one offers, digital, moist heat and a large size as I am a large person. What I wasn't expecting was the heaviness of the pad. The instructions say not to lie on the pad, but to be honest it is difficult to lie on my stomach for any great length of time, and then it was hard to keep the pad from slipping. So, the heck with it, I laid on my back on the pad and it was great. Quick heat up time, great control functions. But it is large so expect it to take up some storage room.

I bought this blanket last April and fortunately was able to use for a month or so before summer. I have since been using it in the chilly and temperamental fall weather of Western New York. It is a perfect size for one person, it covers me nicely as I lay out on the couch and it even spreads nicely across two laps. I usually have it on the medium setting, low is just a little warmer than a regular blanket..medium gets that nice warming heat. I have only had it on hot once or twice on a very chilly day and only for 5 minutes tops, it gets hot very quickly. The three hour shut off is nice, I don't have to worry about losing heat midway through a movie and I am also not worried if my cats accidentally turn it on when we're not at home. The fabric is lovely, the pattern is fun and great colors, i have not needed to wash it yet. I believe the manufacturer warns about hot spots if the blanket is folded (as in not laid flat out) if this happens it is not enough for me to notice. Also the cord and control is a nice length. My house is very old with very few outlets, I have the blanket plugged in behind the couch and I can use and store the blanket on either side trailing the cord out of the way very nicely. I very much recommend this blanket if you are looking for a nice blanket with a quick and comfortable warming heat.

Electric Blankets have NOT come a long way since their inception. That's OK though because what they do, they do well!

This blanket is the exception though: The material is VERY soft!

I bought this for my son as a Christmas present. You can imagine the look on his face when he said "Blanket? Ug..." and tossed it aside for the good stuff. When he realized it was an electric blanket though, that changed things.

I will say: Pay attention to the product description. Dimensions: 50" x 60" This is very small. It is not intended to be the ONLY blanket on your bed, folks. Use it with other blankets. For best use, I recommend a thin sheet/blanket for layer 1, then this blanket for layer 2 then a throw or feather top to top it off. That will keep you warm and let you turn the heat down!

Did I mention it was soft? I wish I had this in the early 1980's. My Electric blanket back then was made out of sandpaper, I swear!

I can recommend this product, but I had a problem that almost caused me to remove the heat tape with the insulation from my water line and return it, and that's not fun when it's cold outside. I wouldn't be surprised if some other people have had this problem, which is also a problem for the manufacturer and those selling the product. I assume the problem would exist with all of the other length heat tapes; they probably use this same thermostat.

After installing the heat tape and insulation, I wanted to make sure it was working OK. I could have done this by watching the pilot light when it got cold, but I decided to use the "Kill a Watt" meter that I had purchased at Amazon about a year ago. (I highly recommend that product. It's relatively cheap, about $21. You plug it into a wall socket and then plug an electic appliance into it and it tells you the volts, amps, watts, power factor, kilowatt hours, etc.) I plugged the electric heat tape into the meter and I could see when the heat tape turned on and the watts it was drawing. (It was 19 to 20 watts by the way.) For one thing, by using the meter I didn't have to go outside to see the pilot light. Actually the pilot light is underneath my mobile home.

The problem came when the temperature (where the heat tape was located) went down to a little below 30 degrees F on several occasions and the heat tape was not staying on. It was off quite a bit of the time. I wasn't anticipating that, and I thought the thermostat was probably defective. The instructions that came with the heat tape didn't prepare me for that. They mentioned some blinking for a while, but I thought the heat tape would be continuously on before the temperature dropped to 28 to 30 degrees.

I don't think the thermostat is defective, and you certainly don't need for the heat tape to be on continuously when it is something like 28 to 30 degrees, but like I said, my first thought was that the thermostat was defective. Apparently when the thermostat first kicks on and the temperature isn't quite a bit colder than 30 degrees the flow of electricity warms up the thermostat a little and it kicks off for a while again.

Fortunately I decided to monitor the heat tape for a while instead of removing it. Since then I have found that the colder it gets the more it stays on, and when it is cold enough it stays on all of the time. So far this year the temperature has dropped to 5 degree or so and I haven't had any problems with freezing water lines. Of course you have to insulate the water lines to recommended levels, remembering, for one thing, that this heat tape only uses some 19 to 20 watts. The 9 foot heat tape available in the local hardware stores uses 63 watts. I hope this note helps some people.

I have a 110-year-old house with a flat roof. It's a beautiful old row house in the city. The problem with a flat roof -as everyone knows -is a lack of drainage. In wintertime, the area around the downspout collects water during the day when the sun is out and the surface (at least) freezes when the sun goes down. That causes a back-up of water and leaking down the interior walls. NOT A GOOD THING!!! This "heater" cable keeps things just warm enough to keep the water flowing down the spout and out of the house. It has a thermostat control which means it only uses electricity when the temperature dips below a certain level.

I installed this tape two years ago to keep my pipe from freezing under our manufactured home in the chilly winter Cascade Mountains. It's performed with no problems. I like that it has a test light attached for piece of mind that it's operating. I had another heat tape before that failed in mid winter and the pipes froze. It is recommended to change out any heat tape every two to three years and inspect yearly. I keep an extra one on hand just in case but think this is a superior and well made product.

I was a bit hesitant when I ordered this since I could only rely on a photo and a very brief description of the item and its features. Since I have Amazon Prime this 100+ pound fireplace shipped FREE and it was delivered in less than one week from the time I ordered it which was a huge savings on shipping alone. Combined with the fact it was already deeply discounted, it proved to be a major savings in more than one way. It arrived in two separate boxes, was very nicely packed with everything undamaged. The instructions could have been a bit more detailed but overall the assembly was manageable even for one person (a woman) to accomplish with relative ease. All parts were present with extra dowels, screws, etc. nicely packaged and clearly marked. I had it fully assembled in about an hour and a half.

Once assembled and turned on, it provided an extremely realistic flame and glowing logs along with digital temperature and timer and several settings for flame height and log glowing intensity as well as several timer options. Best of all, there is a remote control that allows you to change settings without having to get up. Also an extremely quiet blower that delivers toasty warmth to the room. It delivers warmth in relatively quick time and can be used without heat to add the ambiance of a flickering fire, and the heat can be used without the flame too.

This item exceeded my expectations in every way. The wood is a rich and dark brown with a nice patina, the slate is realistic in appearance, the antique bronze tiles add a nice touch and the overall look is imbued with understated elegance that compliments my traditional styled living room. I added an antique clock to the mantel and it is simply stunning! I now want to spend my time in a living room that once was hardly ever used.

This fan has exactly what I was looking for in a fan. It moves a lot of air and does it very quietly. It's primary use in our house is in our bedroom while we sleep, so I was looking for a fan that wouldn't annoy the heck out of me but still do its job. The first 3 lowest speeds of this fan are sufficient for this purpose and for me sufficient all the time. The only reason I could think of to use the highest setting is to possibly dry off a wet dog?

While doing research on this fan I noticed there were many complaints about the fan suddenly not working, but I decided I would take my chances on one to see how quiet it actually was.

I've since been using it for the last 3 or 4 months and it has been working fine. One important thing I did notice when opening the box though--one of the papers pointed out that this fan has a fuse built into the cord. To me, this would make a logical explanation of why the fan would suddenly stop working. It would be great if one of the people who this had happened to could confirm or deny this, but my guess is they just returned the fan and wouldn't know.

Bottom line: If you're looking for a good, QUIET, room fan. This is it. Secondly, it pays to read instructions, even for something as simple as a fan.

Edit (2/16/2012): I've now had this fan for nearly a year and have used it all summer and it still works like a champ and is quiet as all heck. Love this fan.

I originally bought this tower fan in Oct 2012. Of course it was winter, so I basically put it together and tested it. I did notice it was a bit noisy, but figured maybe it needed some running in. Anyway I started using it again this week. On any speed it made a whiny noise on rotation. At low speeds it sounded like a Harley, or as my wife said, when did I buy the helicopter.

I needed another fan for kids room and hoped that mine was a lemon. I got another one, a model with less features. The new one is quite as a mouse. I put that in my daughters room.

This morning I called Honeywell. They were prepared to replace it, but they said I had to ship it, which of course was money. They suggested I call the store where I bought it. My experience with customer service in these small stores is not great, hence the call to Honeywell. Anyway I called the store and they said bring it in and they had new ones and would replace it.

The new one is also very quiet. I have been through a lot of these fans, which I now have to throw out. As long as the Honeywell keeps working, which I believe it will, I am completely happy. Nothing is as quiet. I looked at the Dyson, but it's very expensive and has a nasty whiny noise from the motor. Plus I think the Honeywell pushes more air for the same noise levels.

To be honest, I am not sure you need the extra features this model provides. the temp thing is a gimmick and really will never be used. The only real thing is the 8 different speeds, but the cheaper model has 5 which should be sufficient.

Just to add to the review, the new one also started making that whiny noise when it changed direction on rotation mode. I removed the base and the noise stopped, so I fiugured it had something to do with the base vibrating. Finally I figured it out. It was on a carpet and for some reason as it sunk into the carpet, it got worse. I took a plastic cover for the launadry basket and cut it to the same size as the base and put the fan on top. It's been a week and it's dead quite now on all modes. I think if it's on a hard floor it should be fine, otherwise make sure you put something under it.

I like the white noise of a fan when I'm sleeping, but in my office I want total silence. This fan provides both.

I went through a number of standard fans, and even on the lowest setting they moved too much air and made too much noise for my office. This tower fan has "sleep" and "whisper" speeds that are completely silent. And the thermostat is a great feature because the fan only runs when you need it.

I have a second QuietSet for my home. It's eight speed settings offer enough choices to find just the right level of air movement, and the sound created by the tower design is more conducive to sleep than a traditional fan (at least to my ears).

I have seen reviews that complained about the life of these fans, but I have used both for more than a year with no problems.

I purchased this fan from Target, however it's the same exact one featured here.

I must say this fan is one of the best fans I've ever had. When you have it on the eighth and highest speed its not that quiet, but any of the lower settings, such as whisper, you don't hear it at all yet it still effectively cools the room

That's another thing -the room cooling factor. I'm not sure what crappy care these people who's fan died had for this fan, but if you simply place it in the corner or wherever and leave it be it will last forever. It cools my studio apartment (500+ sq.ft.) with no problem. It was a life saver during this recent heat wave where the apartment's air conditioning failed and the room rose to 85 degrees. This fan single handily brought it down to 71 withing the hour on the highest speed.

Rotate it to get the best results for cooling an entire room. If you don't horse around with this fan or take poor care of it it will last forever and I'm a guy who has had stuff crap out on him before. Trust me, don't listen to these fools who say it breaks, mine survived cooling an 85 degree apartment, yours will last too.

I bought two of these fans, one for me and one for a family member. Both fans stopped working after about a month. I would not recommend this fan.

I researched carefully before buying another iron. E-How provided insights, and I read reviews of the best irons. A good steam iron should have at least 300 steam holes, my sources told me, and 1700 watts of power. This Rowenta has 400 steam holes, a smooth gliding sole plate with specially designed tip to get around buttons. This is an update of the Focus DZ 5080, but probably pretty much the same. It seems that irons have gotten more expensive over the years, but cheaper in manufacturing and quality. I was so tired of my Black & Decker spitting brownish liquid onto my clothes, dripping, cooling instead of steaming. I actually like ironing, but need a tool that works. The Rowenta Dw5080 is great -what a real steam iron should be. The first time I filled it it really gave off steam, has a nice feel, good weight, and glides easily. Heavy cotton fabric, which used to take several passes, now takes one and looks perfectly smooth. All of the functions are easy to see and use and it has a large water tank. It does use up water, but so did my old B&D. The difference is, this one really gives off steam. One note on filling it: if you get little white flakes, your water is too hard, so add 50/50 with spring water (not distilled), and be faithful about using the self-clean feature once a month. So far, I just love this iron and look forward to ironing with new delight.

I hope it lasts a long time. I am tired of buying poor quality products that end up in landfills.

I work at a huge corporate facility and have to use an iron often, sometimes daily. Having freshly pressed clothes is something I take pride in and ironing is so much cheaper then taking your clothes to the dry cleaner (plus the chemicals they use....blech). Back when I was living with roommates one of them had a nice Rowenta iron. That iron was such a work horse it put my old B&D iron to shame. I was sad when we all parted ways and got places of our own because I had to give up use of such a great iron. So here we are a year and change later and boom my old B&D iron I started using again began to leak which was the final blow to the problems I started having with that iron. I was actually happy about this because I was eager to finally get a Rowenta of my own.

The reason I chose this iron is because of the look and size. I'm a 6'5" male with pretty big hands so I like the fact that the handle has a nice sturdy feel to it and the steam and squirt buttons are big. The weight of the iron is good; makes you feel like you have something sturdy in your hands, something that will last you a while if taken care of.

Performance is astounding. The iron glides across your clothes and the bursts of steam are even on every pass. As soon as I got home I followed the first use instructions and went to work on a basket of dress shirts and slacks I had just washed. What I noticed immediately is that my ironing time was cut in half. With my old iron it would take more then a few minutes to get warmed up and when finally warm I would have to make several passes to get that nice ironed shirt look I enjoy. With the Rowenta, it takes about a minute or two to warm up then the magic that can only be found using a Rowenta happens. This iron ate through a whole basket of dress clothes in less then half the time it would have taken with my old iron. With my old iron ironing a full basket of clothes was more like a project that I had to set aside time for but now that I have this Rowenta in my stable ironing that same basket of clothes has been reduced back down to a simple chore that only takes a few minutes to complete.

Take it from someone who irons on a regular basis...you can't miss with this purchase. Save yourself a whole lot of time and frustration. When it comes to buying an iron, don't buy cheap, buy Rowenta.

EDIT: Been almost a year now and this baby is still going strong. If you haven't bought one already and you're looking for a great iron trust me, it's worth the extra coin.

I have my shirts done and use my iron every morning to touch them up. I also iron khakis, denim, cotton moleskin, and wool flannel trousers, as well as sport jackets and suits. I mention this because I have years of experience ironing and I need a high quality iron that puts out lots of steam.

My previous iron was a Rowenta DE-871 "Professional." The old DE-871, (no longer available) lasted over ten years, put out lots of steam, and never leaked or spit water out of the steam vents. I purchased my first Focus model DW-5080 slightly over a year ago and it worked very well for about one year until it quit altogether. (would not power up when plugged in) After several calls, including to Rowenta North America, I determined that it was the plug itself that was likely broken or defective. I contacted the Rowenta service center in Seattle, WA. to learn that a new plug costs $39.95 plus $20.00 to install the part. (plus shipping of about $20.00 for a total of($79.95) I informed the individual at the Rowenta service center that I am fairly handy with electronics and asked if, in his opinion, he thought I could install the part myself,....He replied with one word, no.

So I went back to Bed, Bath & Beyond and told the story to the Manager who could not have been more understanding. He gave me a brand new Rowenta Focus model DW-5080. To my surprise Rowenta has changed the design of this iron enough so that it should no longer carry the designation "Focus," or the model designation DW-5080.

The new Focus DW-5080 spit out large quantities of water from the steam vents every time I used it. Wanting to give it some break in time I varied the amount of water I put in the tank, tried to use a lower or higher heat setting, and it continued to spit large amounts of water from the steam vents. I called Rowneta North America and from my conversation with them I have no doubt that Rowenta is well aware of this issue as well as leaking water tanks and faulty electronics that cause their irons to shut off intermittently. (Overall poor quality control with their products.)

After two weeks I took this model back and spent extra to try the next model up, a DW-8080 "Pro Master." Looking over the reviews I can see that others have experienced the same issue(s) I've experienced with my Focus, (DW-5080) as well as with the Pro master,(DW-8080) (most of their product line of irons)

Bottom line: DO NOT purchase a Rowenta iron unless it's from a retailer like Bed, Bath & Beyond who will allow you to return the product back to the store you purchased it from. If I had purchased this product over the internet I would not have had the resolve to spend the time and money to try to return Rowneta's defective products.

Rowenta spent years establishing a reputation for quality, if expensive, products. The newer Rowenta products are simply hit or miss in terms of quality. BEWARE!

This is my third Rowenta Iron and I love it. It has plenty of well dispersed steam holes and I really like the shape of the sole plate headgreat for around button holes and small areas. Produces plenty of steam even for terribly wrinkled linen. Use bottled spring water and you won't have any problem with the iron spitting. It's not a light iron, but a good iron must have some weight to it. I do wish the Rowentas had an on/off switch but I'm guessing this is a safety issue. Once you go Rowenta, you won't go back. I've passed my older Rowentas to my college age children and they're still working. The cleaning kit is also a good purchasethe cream cleaner works well.

I have had this model since June 7th. It was incredible for two weeks. Then it started shutting off while I was using it. I could not iron one of my dress shirts completely without it shutting off. I began to unplug it, wait and then plug it back in and let it heat up and start over. This got old really quick. I am currently dealing with customer service. I was really very excited about this purchase and I am very disappointed in the performance. I should note that I did see a few negative reviews but I thought that those people were just being really picky or hard to please. I am not sure if I will try another Rowenta or not. We will see how customer service handles this problem. I hope there is an easy solution. PS. I do not think I am using to high of a setting for the fabric type.
